An absolutely amazing performance by the youngster.

He's just such a doll- so humble and shy.

And of course I heart him because he's yet another stellar pitcher out of the Houston area. FELLOW HOUSTONIAN IN THE HOUSE!

So beautiful to see him keep his head through all that--i'm psyched for the full replay this afternoon.

That was really cool to see. My husband was so giddy after it happened.

(I also liked that you could hear Beckett saying, "That was so much better than Schilling. You did so much better than Curt Schilling" as they were celebrating on the field.)

Agreed, Caroline- I finally got back and got to watch that last inning on the big TV (instead of on MLB.TV)- along with all the post-game interviews and hoopla- and his composure was amazing.

Beckett has clearly taken on Clay as his Texas project- even though Josh is only a few years older than Clay. I LOVE THAT. Josh was more excited for Clay than I've seen him get for his own wins- he had that big old stupid goofy grin pasted across his face.

And when he hollered (twice!) that Clay did better than Schilling-- and did it RIGHT TO SCHILLING'S FACE- that was hilarious.
