ALCS Celebration: Cooling It Down (With Champagne)

You want celebration video? You can't HANDLE all the celebration video I've got for you in this third and final installment of Videorama (for now, at least). Dancing, hugging, jumping, yelling, chugging - it's all here. Pants stayed on, but jigs were a'plenty- and Josh Beckett gets all literary with the metaphors. Sort of.

First up: NESN coverage, in three parts.

Part One:
-Tito Francona press conference
-Dustin Pedroia press conference: "nobody wanted to go home, nobody wanted to say goodbye"
-Papi on the field
-Theo Epstein on-field interview
-Mike Timlin & Jonathan Papelbon on-field: "this could be a dangerous moment with him and a live mic on the field"
-PAPELBON IRISH JIG: AL PENNANT VERSION (now with goggles and cigar and hugs for the Dropkicks!)
-"Papy? please don't get hurt"
-John Henry on-field interview

Lots, lots more video after the jump...

Part Two:
-Beckett puffing on a cigar, spotting Papelbon and getting a giant grin on his face as he yells, "PAPPY!" and pulls him over for a hug
-Varitek, Youkilis and Delcarmen wandering around
-YOUKILIS AND PAPELBON DANCE: AL PENNANT VERSION
-Kyle Snyder wanders by looking dazed
-Jacoby Ellsbury lockerroom interview, complete with the guys yelling, "CHIEF! CHIEF!" and covering him in beer
-Lowell, Schilling, Wakefield, Clayton puffing cigars and/or posing with the trophy
-Tim Wakefield, in a very un-Wake like moment, has what can only be described as a spazzfest before grabbing Papi for a hug
-Eric Hinske takes over the PA booth
-Tom Warner on-field interview
-Kevin Youkilis on-field interview: "we showed 'em!"

Part Three:
-Josh Beckett press conference
-watch his eyes as the third questioner poses his fanciful question- "Chillier? Is... a metaphor? That's a metaphor?" HILARIOUS. You can tell his thought process is something like, "Why do I always get stuck with stupid questions like these? Maybe if this dude woulda gotten laid in high school, he wouldn't be so damned fancy. Can't laugh openly at him, though, damnit."
-he's also very candid talking about his approach, saying, "If you're going to get to me, generally the first inning's the inning that I'm trying to figure out who I am that day."
-Tito Francona on-field interview: "I'm supposed to have a lot of good things to say"
-Papelbon lockerroom interview: "for once, I think I'm kind of at a loss for words"
-he's interrupted by someone spraying him with beer from off-camera, and he pauses, lowers his goggles over his eyes, and then gives one of those patented Papelbon stares to the culprit... he is not bothered again
-Dustin Pedroia on-field interview
-Mike Lowell lockerroom interview: "this is what talking to you guys does, it burns out my cigar"
-Curt Schilling on-field interview

FOX, part one:
-Manny Ramirez on-field interview, who looks into the camera like a small kid who sees himself on TV for the first time
-Papelbon on-field interview: "stay tuned, I got somethin' for ya, kid"
-trophy presentation-- but the best part of the whole thing is right at the beginning, when Papelbon comes running by drenched and in goggles, stops right in front of all the dudes in suits and hollers "YEAH!" with raised fists

FOX, part two:
- MVP award presentation to Josh Beckett, who says the award is half Jason Varitek's (who Josh calls his "backbone")
- best part of the video is Josh grinning as he runs across the diamond doing Hook 'Em Horns (Longhorn Love, squee!)
- important tidbit: Josh told Papelbon he would dance with him if they won the World Series.
-Papi takes over the mound with the trophy to get a little groove on to "This Is Why I'm Hot"

video courtesy of FOX

MLB:
-interviews with Doug Mirabelli, Mike Timlin, Javier Lopez, JD Drew, Jonathan Papelbon, Mike Lowell, Jacoby Ellsbury, Julio Lugo, Theo Epstein & Coco Crisp
-raw footage of Papelbon dancing on the dugout, and dousing the trophy with beer

video courtesy of MLB

WBZ:
-raw footage of the lockerroom champagne celebrations
-Papelbon lockerrom interview, in which, if I'm not mistaken, he gets a little choked up
-Jacoby Ellsbury interview
-and the best of the best, so I saved it for last... raw footage of Papelbon's dance: "are you ready to get this party started?"

Something of note: Pedroia came so close to crying when he was talking about his homerun and Javier Lopez was like about to break down when talking about Matsuzaka...which is adorable and great.

Also, you rule 8 kinds of kingdoms for this

Thanks for posting this! Paps seemed like he had rehearsed that way too much. And I liked Coco's "Luckily the Indians didn't BUG us." Yay for bad puns haha.

Thanks for all of this- you totally rock! (One favorite moment among many: the little caption thing on the MLB interview w/Mikey Lowell claims he's Jason Varitek.)
