Cue The Hallelujah Chorus

Do not adjust your computer monitor -- yes, that's Manny Ramirez. In camp. On time. And he wasn't even the last player to report in! (that honor goes to Alex Cora) And he spoke with reporters! Of his own volition!

From Extra Bases:

How badly would you like to retire in a Red Sox uniform?

"I want to finish my career here, but it's up to them. If that doesn't happen, hey, I'll go and play somewhere else. I know I still can play and what else can I say? It's up to them. I'm not the one who writes the checks."

You've said you want to be like Julio Franco. How long are you going to play?

"I'm going to go until the wheels fall off. I'm going to keep going."

I like the new Manny. He definitely provides some memorable quotes.

Everyone always wondered why I stood up for Manny when he was being... Manny. People would say, "Wah wah well we don't want him anyways" (during his many, " I want to be traded" moods). But I did. I wanted him here.

I knew Manny would come around. hahah I'm so glad I stood by him.
i hope he plays forever. just sayin.

Lins, I'm with ya. I've always loved Manny. He's driven me crazy at times, but I love the guy. I hope he retires in a Sox uniform.

Just an interesting quote by Manny during the interview:

"I might be late two years in a row, but I?m always on time.?

And he said that with a straight face.

Never change, Manny, never change.

I love Manny. Always have, always will.

Even if he doesn't retire here (knock on wood), I can definitely see him coming back to be the Sox' hitting coach. Just sayin'.
