Happy Valentine's P&C Day!

On Valentine's Day
Pitchers & catchers report!

It's finally here- the day we've waited for since October 29th, 2007. It's P&C time, y'all! Oh, yeah, and it's also Valentine's Day. But like I said at Ladies..., I'd much rather be treated to the boys of summer than yet another lame box of candy.

I upgraded the calendar display in the sidebar- now instead of displaying the full month (which had a tendency to cut event descriptions off, and there was that annoying mouseover window problem), the calendar now displays all the events happening today.

Thanks to Cubby Blue for the poetry.

Spring Training Day, Spring Training Day, it's really time to start! Spring Training Day, Spring Trainng Day, beat fast my baseball heart!

My little ditty for today. Already done a Paps gig in my office and celebrated with two small pieces of chocolate. Happy, happy day.

texas gal: I was in Lou Pinella's office today for an interview. How cool is that! That was the best Valentines Day present ever...well, hanging out in the Cubs clubhouse was...

I know it's Valentine's Day, but the pitchers reporting, the first picture of Papelbon, now that is what I have been looking forward to all day. The best part of the year is back, baseball season.

I was in hour number *five* of meetings today when someone asked how I was doing. I replied that I was in a great mood because spring training started today! I got some quizzical looks, but at least one guy knew that P & C reported today.

Yes, it's spring!

I was in a meeting today and a coeorker brought up how excited she was that Battlestar Galactica is coming back soon (something I'm looking forward to, too) and I involuntarily blurted out, in a wiseass I-can-do-better-than-that tone, "Pitchers & Catchers!" Lots of puzzled stares around the table.

Meg, those are amazing. I want one!

I told everyone that my valentine was baseball. I got some seriously weird looks (but not as weird as the kid who declared his Coca-Cola bottle his valentine!).

I love those cards! Classic.

Coca-cola as a valentine? Now *that* is sad. (says the one who responded to "Happy Valentine's Day" with "Happy Spring Training" ;-).

My Valentines day consisted of me getting the best V-Day card I've ever gotten... Of course, it wasn't an actual V-Day card. It was an autographed, mint-condition Clay Buchholz rookie [PawSox] card. It goes right up with all my other Clay items [there's almost a shrine to him now in my room] and proceeded to wish everyone a "Happy Spring Training."
