The Twins and Red Sox meet for the third time in 3 days- and the battle for the Mayor's Cup continues. Wakey will take the mound for the Sox, Livan Hernandez will toe the rubber for the Twins.

Use the comments to this entry as your own personal Gameday open thread. These open threads have been fun so far - so I'll keep 'em up as long as y'all are interested in having them.

I'm lovin' these. I'll be stopping by between innings, for the most part, because I like to watch the games and my computer's in the next room. Baseball, yay!

[ Liza ] says:
on March 2, 2008 11:39 AM

I won't be on (much) until maybe the third or fourth inning... but I will be here! I love these threads!

[ Erin ] says:
on March 2, 2008 11:47 AM

I'm going to try and be on as much as I since I have a laptop. My mom is going to be watching a movie on the TV in the living room so I'm stuck with the TV in my parents room.

I just hope the wireless network is good in their room

[ fc ] says:
on March 2, 2008 11:53 AM

These are so much fun!
The real question is why, when I live in Boston, am I sitting at home watching these games alone?

[ Tex19 ] says:

Happy Independence Day TexasGal from one Texan to another!!!!

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on March 2, 2008 11:59 AM

Hooray! Right back atcha!

(for everyone who doesn't know, all Texans celebrate Texas Independence Day -- which is today, March 2nd -- and those celebrations tend to involve beer.)

I'm going to the Texas Exes Independence Day celebration here in Chicago tonight, Tex19.

[ starr4 ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:04 PM

Happy Texas Independence Day, y'all! We raise a beer to you.

Both Don and Remy look like tomatoes today!!!!

[ fc ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:05 PM

Awww, Wakey

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:05 PM

Sunscreen, guys. Look into it.

[ Liza ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:07 PM

Hooray! I have a laptop, but I'm working on a powerpoint presentation for my computer science class. >.>

C'mon, Wakey... find that strike zone...

[ starr4 ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:08 PM

empty seats???? That's a surprise.

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:12 PM

I know! What's that about?

[ Liza ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:13 PM

WHOA. That was a beautiful curveball from Hernandez. (The one Coco struck out on)

THEY'RE TALKING ABOUT LOWELL'S FUNDRAISER.

[ fc ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:13 PM

OOh, sounds like they may have a bit of dance-off video!

[ Meg ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:13 PM

"We'll see a bit later.."

That sounds like they have video of the dancing!

[ Liza ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:13 PM

HA. Don called Pedroia's shirtless dance "alarming".

[ starr4 ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:15 PM

Oh!!! Talking about dancing

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:15 PM

SWEET JESUS

[ fc ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:15 PM

YES!

[ Liza ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:15 PM

YES YES YES YES YES.

[ Erin ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:16 PM

That was awesome.

[ Michelle Jaeger ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:16 PM

we have video! that was excellent!

[ Meg ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:16 PM

Oh. my. god. Hahahahahaha.

Yay Papi!

[ Liza ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:16 PM

Wow. Mikey's a good dancer.

YEAH PAPI! He jogged to second.

[ Twinkie ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:16 PM

OMFG EPIC!!!! I thought the pics were great but the video? WOW.

[ starr4 ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:16 PM

OMG!!!

TG: please, the video, we need to see it again, again and again!!!!!

[ fc ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:17 PM

There must be more than those little clips

[ Erin ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:17 PM

I want to see the dances all the way through now.

[ fc ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:19 PM

Pap, you Dawg!

[ Liza ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:19 PM

OMG. Paps' hips are going to haunt my dreams.

[ fc ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:20 PM

He is waaaay too comfortable in that shirt.

[ starr4 ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:20 PM

Trouble oncentrating...

but, is that a Cubs straw hat on the guy behind home plate? It's sorta nice.

[ boston_princess ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:21 PM

OH GOD. This is the best thing of all time.

[ Twinkie ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:21 PM

I bet impartial judge/mocker Tek wasn't able to properly do either because his head probably exploded.

I could watch that dancing all day.

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:21 PM

Yes - and there's a guy on the lawn in a Cowboys hat. Shoutouts again! :)

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:21 PM

Video is in progress now. I'll holler when it's up.

[ fc ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:22 PM

Yes, we need video of the Sox spectators too.

[ fc ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:22 PM

I think we need to start calling Pedroia "Daddy."

[ Liza ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:22 PM

I rewound to the Papeldance during the commercial (I love DVR) and paused it right as he picked up the dancer--oh my. He looks like he's having WAY too much fun.

[ starr4 ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:23 PM

The dancing was distracting but props to Papi's double

[ Erin ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:23 PM

I would love to know what the team thought about the dances.

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:25 PM

Agreed, starr4- wish we could have capitalized on that.

[ fc ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:25 PM

Daddy!

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:25 PM

Daddy dives!

[ xwishuponstarx ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:26 PM

Dustin! He's full of love this weekend!

[ Erin ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:26 PM

Alright Daddy!

[ Liza ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:26 PM

Hooray for Daddy!

Also, TG, thank you so much for the video in advance--my mom's crazy about Mikey, but she missed the dancing!

[ starr4 ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:27 PM

Don't think Remy likes Dodgertown much.

Do you think the whole Daddy thing (which I had rationalized in my mind as a combo of Paps poor spelling and ego as Baddass ) means Pedroia and wife are expecting?

[ Meg ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:28 PM

Starr-I was wondering that too! Maybe that was his way of announcing it to the team haha.

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:30 PM

Mr. Salsa!

[ Meg ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:30 PM

Yay Mikey!!!

[ xwishuponstarx ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:30 PM

MIKEY LOWELL!

[ starr4 ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:30 PM

Mikey!!! Way to go!!!!

[ Renee ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:30 PM

Go Mikey!!

(I'm new to the thread if you don't know, lol)

[ fc ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:31 PM

Nice - Mikey's hot so far this ST.

[ Liza ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:31 PM

Mikey! Hooray!

Starr4: That would be awesome. And it would mean the baby would probably be due around September or October!

[ Liza ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:32 PM

Hi Renee! :)

[ xwishuponstarx ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:32 PM

starr, i thought the same thing - but knowing this team, who knows

[ starr4 ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:34 PM

It does look lovely in Ft Myers today.

Welcome Renee.

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:34 PM

At least we had no LOB this time. If we have to homer our way to wins, so be it.

[ fc ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:35 PM

Renee, you are my middle-namesake. Do you know your name means "reborn" in French?

[ Erin ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:35 PM

It looks really warm in Ft. Myers. I really want it to be spring now.

[ Liza ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:36 PM

Buchholz! Hooray! :D

WE LOVE YOU CLAY!

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:37 PM

Stickbug time!

[ Erin ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:38 PM

Lets Go Clay!

[ Liza ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:38 PM

Aww. Oh, well. It was a really good hit.

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:39 PM

Not good to surrender a homer on your first batter. Looks like our baby pitchers are going to battle through ST this year.

[ Renee ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:39 PM

hey thanks guys

I've heard of it being 'reborn' I didn't think much of it though but thanks :)

[ starr4 ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:39 PM

Recover, Buchholtz, recover!!

[ xwishuponstarx ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:39 PM

I guess I can say I'm new here, but only to the game threads.

Oh Clay. I love ya!

[ Liza ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:40 PM

Wow--crazy almost-catch by Coco!

Ouchhh. That was tough.

[ Kim ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:41 PM

I can't help but feel bad for Coco. He's fighting for his job.

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:41 PM

And the silver sunglasses return. They had been MIA.

[ fc ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:42 PM

Mr. Men's Fitness can wear anything he likes, IMHO.

[ starr4 ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:42 PM

Ah, Beckett's silver sunglass sponsorship and delivery came through. That's a relief.

[ Liza ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:43 PM

Ugh! Buch's having a hard time of it this inning.

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:44 PM

Doesn't look like either of our position battles are close to being decided yet.

Coco's been batting well, but that drop doesn't look good (although, honestly- no one other than MAYBE Curtis Granderson could have gotten that).
Jacoby's been great on the basepaths and outfield, but his bat hasn't been outstanding.

Clay's in trouble.
Jon didn't do well.
Julian actually did OK, surprisingly. Although his attitude problems kind of scare me.

[ Meg ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:44 PM

I'm not a fan of this game. Come on Clay, strikes!!!

[ fc ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:44 PM

1st & 3rd - not good.

[ starr4 ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:44 PM

What do you think Julian and Josh were discussing? Where Julian spent the off season?

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:45 PM

Killing things. In Josh's case, deer with a rifle. In Julian's case, hobos with a spork.

[ Liza ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:45 PM

Noooooo. C'mon, Buchie. Use that changeup and that PFP.

[ xwishuponstarx ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:45 PM

Come on guys! You can clinch the Mayors Cup today and that would be HUGE! ;]!

[ fc ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:47 PM

THIS SUCKS

[ shark ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:47 PM

MANNY!!!!!!!!!! JEEZ

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:47 PM

Don't know if everyone saw that tiny post I sandwiched between Cover Model Josh and Dancing Sox -- but there's an extra Twins game on the schedule now. Josh is staying behind in Ft. Myers on Monday with Tek to pitch against the Twins in a B-game. Snyder and most of the team go to Miami.

[ Liza ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:48 PM

What IS this?? C'mon, Clay... and Coco, and Manny!

[ Renee ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:48 PM

Ahh crap!

[ xwishuponstarx ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:48 PM

DEFENSE!

[ Liza ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:49 PM

TG - I'd seen that! I wish it was televised (and that it wasn't at 10 AM). I want to see Josh pitch!

Finally, an out. Thank you, Lugo! (Did I just say that?)

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:49 PM

Stickbug's ERA is going to be horrific. He's pitched 1/3 of an inning, 4 runs and another ER waiting at 3rd. EEK.

[ starr4 ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:50 PM

Surprisingly, I am OK with Clay having challenges, but the fielding bloops always slay me. Twins steal third. Damn!

Hilarious, TG. Scary but funny.

[ starr4 ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:52 PM

Come on, Stickbug, execute your pitches.

[ shark ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:52 PM

I think Clay has on more neck jewelry than Josh.

[ fc ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:52 PM

starr, agreed. Coco not making that catch? I guess he's human on defense, after all.

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:52 PM

Ugh. He is having big problems locating the ball. It doesn't help that everyone keeps dropping balls and Dougie can't throw a baserunner out to save his life.

[ Meg ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:52 PM

Woohoo a strike!

[ Liza ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:53 PM

Eek, 27 pitches in one inning. C'mon, Clay... find that strike zone... YES! Strike three. Phew.

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:53 PM

I think Stickbug has Josh-like facial hair today. When did that happen?

FINALLY. A K. His line is going to be nightmarish.

[ Meg ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:53 PM

K!

He had some really bad luck there with the fielding...it's ST so I'm not going to worry.

[ fc ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:54 PM

Let's not panic. It's only ST.

[ starr4 ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:54 PM

OK, that 27 pitch inning provides oodles of learning for a pitcher at Clay's development. It's all good, even though it doesn't feel good to us.

[ Erin ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:54 PM

Good thing it is just spring training.

[ fc ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:56 PM

I think we sound a little too much like we're trying to convince ourselves. ;)

[ xwishuponstarx ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:56 PM

I agree Starr.

[ Liza ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:56 PM

I do believe that was "Crazy" playing over the PA system just now...

DOUGIE'S GOIN' DEEP!

[ fc ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:57 PM

C'mon, Coc, show us what you've got.

[ Meg ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:57 PM

Dougie looks like he's in better shape...and yay for BB.

[ fc ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:58 PM

Ooops, "Coco"

[ Liza ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:59 PM

Coco... I do love your chin-on-shoulder batting stance.

Is it just me, or does he look a bit off-balance today? His last at-bat he stumbled over that curveball, and just lost his balance for a minute.

At least 'Belli got to second!

[ xwishuponstarx ] says:
on March 2, 2008 12:59 PM

DOUGIE! Nice hustle!

[ Liza ] says:
on March 2, 2008 1:02 PM

Wow, great play at first. too bad Papi got out.

[ Meg ] says:
on March 2, 2008 1:04 PM

Gotta love mlb.com's box score...right now they have the Twins w/ five runs in the third, however have the score listed correctly at 4-1.

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on March 2, 2008 1:06 PM

Let's look at those lines:

Boston IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA
Lester 1.0 2 5 4 4 0 0 36.00
Buchholz 1.0 5 4 4 1 1 1 36.00

[ Liza ] says:
on March 2, 2008 1:06 PM

Yay! Wakey wants to give the team 200 innings!

[ fc ] says:
on March 2, 2008 1:06 PM

"It was what is was."
Way to conjugate, Wakey!

[ starr4 ] says:
on March 2, 2008 1:06 PM

Clay's out for another inning. Doing better so far.

[ fc ] says:
on March 2, 2008 1:07 PM

Crap, ytypo again.
"It was what it was."

[ Liza ] says:
on March 2, 2008 1:10 PM

Good inning by Buch. Nice bounce-back, bud.

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on March 2, 2008 1:10 PM

PECOTA says Wake will get about 130 innings, 8-8, 4.99 ERA, 1.46 WHIP.

I *love* Pat Neshek.

[ Liza ] says:
on March 2, 2008 1:12 PM

Wow. Neshek has an awesome delivery. Ba-BAM. And look at his leg! Hahahahahaha.

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on March 2, 2008 1:18 PM

I do wonder how long they'll wait before announcing the Japan roster.

[ fc ] says:
on March 2, 2008 1:19 PM

Mikey to Youk. Ah, I've missed that.

[ Liza ] says:
on March 2, 2008 1:19 PM

Hey, look! It's Bryan Corey!

[ starr4 ] says:
on March 2, 2008 1:21 PM

I'm looking forward to the Coliseum game, too.

Will they expand the roster for Japan? I've been tickled thinking about the beds on the plane. A 20-hour sleepover.

Oy vey!!

[ Liza ] says:
on March 2, 2008 1:25 PM

They're talking about Steinie Jr.'s RSN comments and Henry's reply to that. Remy's being very diplomatic and Don is doing the same gaspy chuckle he did when Manny was petting Tavy last year. It's cracking me up.

Yeah, Lugo! He made that catch earlier, too.

[ Renee ] says:
on March 2, 2008 1:27 PM

YES NICE PLAY!

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on March 2, 2008 1:28 PM

Now I can definitely see the weight difference on Clay.

[ fc ] says:
on March 2, 2008 1:28 PM

As some readers may know...I have a problem with "RSN" used to mean only dues-paying, card-carrying members. No animosity towards anyone who's signed up, it's usually a cost/benefit decision, but I AM in RSN and I DO NOT belong to that club. Marketing gone awry.

[ Liza ] says:
on March 2, 2008 1:29 PM

Hooray! It's Van Every! Wow. That was some, uh, stylish defense right there.

Awwww, Clay. His face shape looks totally different than it did last year. It's a lot longer. He looks quite adorable.

[ starr4 ] says:
on March 2, 2008 1:31 PM

Agreed, fc, just cause you can be a card carrying member of RSN doesn't mean you have ta be one. RSN existed before the card, and will exist sans the card. It's a loyalty thing, and fan thing. Not a marketing thing.

[ Liza ] says:
on March 2, 2008 1:32 PM

That would've been a nice hit by Daddy.

[ Meg ] says:
on March 2, 2008 1:35 PM

I'm "in the club" but only cause the 10% discount at the team store means it pays for itself like five times over for me...I buy too much stuff, and Sox stuff is my go-to gift for a lot of people. If I didn't live in Boston I wouldn't get it though.

Okie's in:-D

[ xwishuponstarx ] says:
on March 2, 2008 1:38 PM

same here Meg. I only had it for that and Gameday Audio =]!

[ fc ] says:
on March 2, 2008 1:39 PM

Like I said, cost/benefit. I considered it before, and could well join at some point. But I'm a Sox girl forever.

[ starr4 ] says:
on March 2, 2008 1:40 PM

Nice play!!!

[ fc ] says:
on March 2, 2008 1:41 PM

Niiice play at the plate!

[ Renee ] says:
on March 2, 2008 1:41 PM

Wooooo Kottaras! Way to do it!

[ Erin ] says:
on March 2, 2008 1:41 PM

That was a great play

[ Liza ] says:
on March 2, 2008 1:42 PM

Yeah--same here. I'm not in the official RSN. I'm a huge fan, obviously, but I don't need a card to tell me that.

Oh my. Tim Wakefield (old enough to be my father, good-looking enough to make it weird) just came on my television and asked me if I had Sox appeal. xD

[ xwishuponstarx ] says:
on March 2, 2008 1:44 PM

Well I never thought I'd use the gameday audio then i went to FL and I needed it.

Great play at the plate and that blowhorn music. KILLING ME.

[ Liza ] says:
on March 2, 2008 1:45 PM

"Sixth inning, I have no idea who's in the game."
We love you, Remdawg!

Aaaand Chris Charter's running for Papi. I like Carter. He's good.

[ fc ] says:
on March 2, 2008 1:45 PM

Is Papi limping more than we'd expect at this stage?

[ Liza ] says:
on March 2, 2008 1:50 PM

fc - I didn't notice. Eek. I hope his knee really is almost 100% like he said.

At least Carter's on third... c'mon JD!

[ Liza ] says:
on March 2, 2008 1:53 PM

fc - I didn't notice. Eek. I hope his knee really is almost 100% like he said.

At least Carter's on third... c'mon JD!

[ Tex19 ] says:
on March 2, 2008 1:54 PM

Im glad to see Clay pitching on today..even though it was off alittle.
That foghorn is freaking hilarious.

[ Liza ] says:
on March 2, 2008 1:59 PM

HA. Anyone else laugh a lot at that boston.com commercial?

"Let's go to the Cape! We'll be there in an hour!"
"This. Isn't. Boston."

[ Liza ] says:
on March 2, 2008 2:03 PM

Georg-ie! Georg-ie!

Aw. Never mind.

Going to the eighth...

Where'd everyone go??

[ Erin ] says:
on March 2, 2008 2:04 PM

Liza- I love that commerical

[ fc ] says:
on March 2, 2008 2:07 PM

MDC!

[ xwishuponstarx ] says:
on March 2, 2008 2:08 PM

DANCE OFF ON SPORTSDESK TONIGHT!

[ Liza ] says:
on March 2, 2008 2:09 PM

"Much more of this later on SportsDesk..."
That'd be Don talking about the dance. YES.

Wow. Cora is a really, really good dancer.

Oh my. This looks fabulous. (And Don is wearing a hideous, shapely baby blue polo. We love him.)

[ Meg ] says:
on March 2, 2008 2:09 PM

More Dance Off on Sportsdesk!

I love the boston.com ads, and want them to make more haha.

[ fc ] says:
on March 2, 2008 2:10 PM

Boston folks: Cookie-off on ch 38 at 10. Tivo Sports Desk or watch at 11.

[ Anonymous ] says:
on March 2, 2008 2:12 PM

Omg, I love Dustin :D

[ xwishuponstarx ] says:
on March 2, 2008 2:13 PM

lmfao. DUSTIN!

[ starr4 ] says:
on March 2, 2008 2:13 PM

Seriously bad dancing from Pedroia. Where's his belt? With Paps jersey?

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on March 2, 2008 2:13 PM

This gets better (worse) the more I see of it.

[ Renee ] says:
on March 2, 2008 2:13 PM

forgot to put my name

[ fc ] says:

on March 2, 2008 2:14 PM

WHY were Daddy's pants falling down?

He has got to be the WORST dancer I've ever seen. Oh man. And the dancer was taller than he was! (Wearing heels, but still. They looked hilarious!)

Oh man--and the gaspy, laughing Don "MAKE IT STOP!" returns!

I thought that was Rem? Maybe both?

[ Liza ] says:
on March 2, 2008 2:16 PM

SO GOOD, SO GOOD, SO GOOD!

Man. I missed this song.

[ AZ ] says:
on March 2, 2008 2:16 PM

I hope someone puts that segment up on youtube soon

[ Erin ] says:
on March 2, 2008 2:18 PM

Dustin's dance reminds me of the Full Monty for some reason

[ starr4 ] says:
on March 2, 2008 2:19 PM

He rips the shirt off,
can't dance worth a lick. or worse
pants falling down low.

Dance haiku

[ fc ] says:
on March 2, 2008 2:20 PM

starr: title is "Daddy"

[ fc ] says:
on March 2, 2008 2:21 PM

And brillinat BTW

[ Liza ] says:
on March 2, 2008 2:22 PM

Starr, I think you're on to something.

Pap's shirt is lacy
He looks like he enjoys it
He has woman-hips

[ starr4 ] says:
on March 2, 2008 2:26 PM

Right on, right on!!

Ah, in baseball news: Craig Hansen is pitching!!! I want him to perform to his potential, badly.

[ fc ] says:
on March 2, 2008 2:28 PM

Don't get discouraged, Craig. You can do it.

[ starr4 ] says:
on March 2, 2008 2:29 PM

fc, thanks for the Craig support. He appreciates it and he NEEDS it.

[ fc ] says:
on March 2, 2008 2:30 PM

Brotha is close to my heart. I got sleep issues.

[ starr4 ] says:
on March 2, 2008 2:31 PM

Alas, if he keeps on pitching like this, we'll all have sleep issues. OK, that was a decent play from him.

[ Liza ] says:
on March 2, 2008 2:31 PM

C'mon, Craig... nice pitch there, but Kottaras couldn't get his glove on it. Seriously, though--that pitch broke about 30 feet.

YER OUUUUT! Kottaras is doing a really good job of tagging out guys at the plate.

[ Meg ] says:
on March 2, 2008 2:32 PM

I still don't like Cla Meredith cause of that grand slam:-P

[ Ian ] says:
on March 2, 2008 2:32 PM

What did I miss?

[ fc ] says:
on March 2, 2008 2:34 PM

I need my blankey.

[ mhcranberry ] says:
on March 2, 2008 2:35 PM

You don't say, fc...

[ Liza ] says:
on March 2, 2008 2:36 PM

I'm with ya, fc and cranberry.

Kottaras is doing a really, really good job of tagging guys out, but passing a lot of balls.

Ian: Not much at all.

[ Renee ] says:
on March 2, 2008 2:37 PM

oooch, this hurts me.

[ starr4 ] says:
on March 2, 2008 2:37 PM

Coaches are formulating a strategy for Hansen and it's not a good one.

Ouch. As TG would say, the line on this is going to be ugly.

[ Liza ] says:
on March 2, 2008 2:38 PM

Yessssss. Good job Thurston.

[ Ian ] says:
on March 2, 2008 2:39 PM

I just saw the dance part at the beginning. Do they show any more during the game. I already set the DVR up for 10 PM SportsDesk.

[ fc ] says:
on March 2, 2008 2:40 PM

Ian, we have had 2 pinkhat confessions

[ Liza ] says:
on March 2, 2008 2:40 PM

He gave up the same number of runs as Clay, but in half the time. And with more walks.

Come on, Sox! It sure would be nice to -I won't jinx it-...

[ Ian ] says:
on March 2, 2008 2:41 PM

Just to let everyone know. If you're looking for the game next Sunday on NESN. It's going to be on at 8 PM on a tape delay basis. The Bruins play at 1 PM so they can't show both.

[ Liza ] says:
on March 2, 2008 2:41 PM

Ian: Around 2:10, they show a lot.

[ Liza ] says:
on March 2, 2008 2:44 PM

Those were some quick two outs.

C'mon, guys... c'mon, Mossie...

[ Liza ] says:
on March 2, 2008 2:45 PM

Nope. Never mind.

[ Erin ] says:
on March 2, 2008 2:47 PM

What is Hansen's line going to look like?

[ Ian ] says:
on March 2, 2008 2:47 PM

Thanks. I'm trying to find it right now.

Two pinkhat confessions. WOW. No one can have the nickname Pink Hat Ian

[ fc ] says:
on March 2, 2008 2:47 PM

Love hurts

[ fc ] says:
on March 2, 2008 2:49 PM

No weather reports though

[ Liza ] says:
on March 2, 2008 2:51 PM

It's deceivingly sunny and beautiful for such a cold day here.

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on March 2, 2008 2:53 PM

Same here. Except it's 48! WOOHOO! Which (hopefully) means y'all will have a warmer day tomorrow.

Then it's back to snow here on Tues & Wed. I'll be in Florida on Friday, at which point, NO SNOW for 11 days.

[ Liza ] says:
on March 2, 2008 2:59 PM

It's actually 40°, but add in the windchill and it's 18. >

Tomorrow looks like mid-40s, and Tuesday mid-50s (!!!), but later in the week it dips back into the igh 40s again.

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on March 2, 2008 3:02 PM

Oh - we're not hitting 50 ANYTIME soon here. Today is aberration, then it's back to the high 20s/low 30s for the next week.

[ Piney61 ] says:
on March 2, 2008 3:33 PM

Dammit of all the freaking days I have to work, it's teh day after the dance off. *antsy for Sportsdesk*

[ Lyndsay ] says:
on March 2, 2008 5:22 PM

ok I'm late on this - there's an actual membership to RSN? what the fuck? I've just been calling myself one because I grew up a sox fan in Mass since pretty much the day i was born, (I mean my Dad was a peanut kid at Fenway from the age of 14 till he graduated college for crying out loud), but moved once I hit college, and have lived in 3 different cities since, and I'm not back in the area with the fam. I didn't realize it was an actual "club" with a card - like a Stop and Shop club card. what the hell? ok I might have to join Hanky Panks in saying that that really IS retarded.

what happens to those of us who have been fans since we were born, who's dads used to watch Ted Williams - do we get grandfathered in or something?

[ Lyndsay ] says:
on March 2, 2008 5:24 PM

and yes, the Pedro dancing was just like Manny petting Tavarez - with Orsillo laughing uncontrollably. Like we're all gonna call Dustin "Daddy" from now on, I'm calling Orsillo "Giggles" now.
