Jacoby! Jacoby! Jacoby!

So I thought I was cool as ice when I somehow mysteriously showed up on the Red Sox Christmas card list this year. I thought I was BIG STUFF. Little did I know, that was just the beginning.

Apparently I'm also on the "random Jacoby Ellsbury news and information mailing list for people who may or may not be a tad too knowledgeable about the minutiae of his career" ... because I got an email from a Nike dude hyping up the new website for Nike SPARQ Training that features Jacoby.

OK, maybe there is no such insider email list - I suspect the same email went to a ton of Red Sox bloggers. But I like to pretend I'm more important than I am.

So, just for that Nike dude - and for those of you who never get tired of seeing Jacoby pictures - here are the Nike promo shots of Jacoby. You can visit the website for video, and photos/video of the other participating athletes, including: Kevin Durant (yay!), Adrian Peterson (boo!), Matt Holliday (you still never touched the plate!) and Pete Carroll (?!? not exactly a hot body, but I'm going to boo him anyway since he's from USC).

Guhhhhhhhh.

I mean. Um. Where was I?

Looks like he'll have some more power this year, to say the least...

o shoot the pictures aren't working fo me, they all have those red X's in them so I'll try again tomorrow. I love your description for Holliday (NOT the NLCS MVP) though--he never ever touched it!

The pictures aren't working for me either. I was just about to throw my computer against the wall when I read Rachel's post. I'll try again later.

Live thread today.

How many drool napkins were needed for the making of this post?

I also think you need to post the training video from the Nike site - it's just so adorable.

can you see Pedroia doing this ad as a Nike pitch guy? no way he would take this shit seriously - he'd be all ultimate wrestler about it - "how you like me now, Durant!" God would I pay money for that.

Logan airport 11/5/07 - heading back to Orlando.

My brother, husband and I were in the security line and in the other line was Mr, Ellsbury himself. I squeed silently in my head, and noticed there was no one else in the lines...alll mine I think to myself!
I say his name, he turns his head and smiles, and I melt to the floor. I compose myself, because I am not going to look like a fan girl. He comes over to my brother and I, (my husband got nabbed by the TSA and they were probably doing a cavity search as he WAS wearing a Yankees cap.) and introduces himself, asks us how we are, just a real sweet guy. Meanwhile, we (Jacoby, my brother and I) are all standing there in socks. We take a couple of pictures, signs a few autographs, and somehow his ginormous feet ended up near my little pinky toe. I laughed, and looked down as did he, and he apologized profusely, (in my head I was like SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE), I told him it was okay, and he told me he liked my socks (they had bunnies on them, of all the socks I could wear). Anyhoo, we put our shoes back on, gathered our stuff, said our thanks, and Jacoby says, "What about your husband? The kid actually wanted to wait for him. I told him to go on, as my husband was being "detained" for wearing a Yankees cap, and thanked him for the gesture, and watched as he walked down the concourse.

It was the perfect end to the perfect week (parade week)

...and my left toe is still insanely jealous of the right.

geez, seeing Jacoby in the parade was enough to make me scream out I LOVE YOU! to a closed window...in front of like 20 colleagues. it was a reflex, i couldnt help it. i would hate to see myself if he told me he liked my socks, but it would probably require being restrained by airport security.

Heh, I am still surprised at my composure....shockingly surprised lol.

According to sparqtraining.com, Jacoby holds the all-time highest SPARQ Major League Baseball rating of 102.31

His comment on this is, "I can go faster."
