No Jacoby =(

He has a groin problem, but its not serious. I'm sad. But its all good, we got Mikey back! =P

And we NEED to win this game. the offense needs to get hits tonight!

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:19 PM

A little trickery on us huh Texy.

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:20 PM

I'm sure there are a few females out there who probably wouldn't mind taking care of Jacoby's groin injury

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:20 PM

[ Lindsay ] says:

Woops, didnt mean to post it twice. sry.

and yeah-- i know i would love to help him with his groin problem ;) haha.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:21 PM

Way to come back Lester!

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:21 PM

Come on Jon boy. First pitch strikes please

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:22 PM

Note that the night they rest Jacoby they rest Jed, too. Tito knows to keep the Oregonians together!

[ Jessi ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:23 PM

I'm almost relieved Jacoby is out due to that small injury, I wondering why the hell Crisp would be playing instead of him.

Lowells back!

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:23 PM

Jed's probably not going to see too much action now unless Lugo or Peddie need a day.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:23 PM

Haha 1863! Good point ;)

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:24 PM

LOL, Ian! For some reason I hadn't heard about Jacoby's groin tweak until they read tonight's lineups on the radio.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:24 PM

Yeah, that sucks =(

and they sent brandon moss back down to Pawtucket =( we didnt eve get to see him play! But i wonder what they're gonna do with Jed. Especially since Cora will be off the DL soon too.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:24 PM

Yeah, his days are numbered up here - I think when Alex is off the DL, he's back in Pawtucket.

He and Jacoby have to be kept together at all times because they both play better that way. Hey, when you've known someone for ten years or so...

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:25 PM

Well Jacoby told me abt his groin last night ;) lmao jp (obviously..lol)

yeah, i just found out abt it too on NESN.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:25 PM

Well now Steph, you wouldn't wish Jacoby going to Pawtucket, I hope!

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:26 PM

Lindsay, Brandon Moss is still up. He's on the bench. They designated Bryan Corey for assignment.

[ kristina ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:27 PM

hey everyone.....it would be great to get a win tonight...ummm, is anyone else having issues with NESN...

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:27 PM

No, I wouldn't want Jacoby in Pawtucket - he's needed up here. But Jed's probably back down (for a little while) when Alex is reactivated.

...It's been fun, hasn't it?

[ Erin ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:27 PM

Hey everyone!

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:27 PM

They kept Moss up because they have no backup first baseman or any backup OF's for tonight's game.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:28 PM

Crisp leading off? Uhhh, only Jacoby can do that...lol

it shouldda been Dusty...but w/e =P

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:28 PM

Yes kristina my NESN seems to have a hiccup at times.

[ Anonymous ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:29 PM

Oh really?? My dad told me they sent Moss down...lol

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:29 PM

It it just me, or do all the calls seem to be going against us lately? Have we wronged the wrong people?

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:29 PM

Anonymous is Lindsay..sry...lol

[ kristina ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:29 PM

my screen is black right now....(not enjoying this right now)

[ Lyndsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:29 PM

hey everybody!
anyone else having NESN feed problems?

[ Jade ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:29 PM

Does anyone know what's happening?

[ Lyndsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:30 PM

and oh NOT JACOBY! is having "groin problems" tonight???

(will resist temptation to make inappropriate sexual innuendo)

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:30 PM

My NESN HD feed is fine except for a few hiccups here and there

[ Jessi ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:31 PM

Ok I'm watching the game on mlbtv and it hasn't come back from the break...am I the only one experiencing this?

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:31 PM

Coco struck out. Pleats struck out. Big Papi grounded out. that's what happened.

[ Lyndsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:32 PM

and I don't think Jacoby ever been sent back to Pawtucket is even a possibiility this season - I think he's here to stay :-)

[ Lyndsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:32 PM

nope. my NESN still hasnt come back! what the F?

[ Jade ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:33 PM

IT'S BACK!

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:33 PM

He is. Jed'll be down soon, which was not a day I was looking forward to very much as much as I wanted Mike and Alex to recover quickly, but he'll be back up in September.

(And so will Justin Masterson. YES.)

[ Hurricane ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:33 PM

Jessi - I am having the same problem. Someone prolly got fired

[ Lyndsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:33 PM

ahhh here we go...hey wait I thought Vernon Wells was on the DL? dammit I hate that guy - he hits well against us.

[ kristina ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:33 PM

well evidently i didn't miss much....but still happy it's back on!

[ Jessi ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:33 PM

It's back!

[ Lyndsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:33 PM

so who is DHing tonight?

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:34 PM

well since Big Papi grounded out, I'm going with him.

[ Lyndsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:34 PM

ummm commercial break in the middle of an at-bat? what the F NESN? seriously!!!

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:35 PM

Yeah, i dont know if any of u noticed but on NESN, when they were talking abt Jacoby they showed him, and he was laughing pretty hard, i dont remember seeing him laugh that hard before during a game, maybe because hes more relaxed since hes not playing? or maybe hes just getting more and more comfortable with the guys. All i know is that i wish we saw more of the "happy, fun" Jacoby. =P

[ kristina ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:35 PM

is someone over there drinking heavily right now....whats with commercials in the middle of the inning

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:35 PM

y'all must have the NESN on crack feed

[ Jade ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:35 PM

i guess they're a certain number of commercials they have to fit in. My God this is annoying though.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:36 PM

That Jacoby is more likely to show up when someone he's known for ten years (read: Jed Lowrie) is around. I'm convinced that since Jed's been up Jacoby's been looser.

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:37 PM

I have only had commercials when they are supposed to so far.

[ Emily ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:40 PM

Hey guys, kinda new here - quick question: where does Tek throw the ball after someone strikes out?

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:42 PM

Usually they just throw it to the mound

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:42 PM

Was this site just acting up too?

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:42 PM

And yeah. my commercials have been fine too.

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:42 PM

To third base. They throw it around the horn to keep their arms loose

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:43 PM

ECL, I lost the site for a moment, too! It's back now, but...

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:43 PM

I should add, it gets thrown to the mound when a runner is on base. and yes ecl, it appeared the NESN on crack feed affected the site for a minute or two.

[ Hurricane ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:43 PM

@Emily - He will throw it to 3rd (MiKEY !!!) if no one is on base. as a celebration and to keep the infielders warm

[ jenny again ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:44 PM

man doc works fast. YIKES. game on speeeeed.

[ Emily ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:45 PM

Thanks guys!

[ Jade ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:46 PM

You have got to be kidding me. I'm so mad at Nesn.

[ jenny again ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:46 PM

YOOOOOOOOOUK.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:46 PM

And yes, the site keeps messing up for me too.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:46 PM

Nice, Youk!

[ gretchen0720 ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:46 PM

[ kristina ] says:

[ jenny again ] says:

BIG standing O to welcome mike lowell home. ;D saw him play in pawtucket last friday, which was AWESOME. eee.

[ Erin ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:47 PM

Real fans don't need cowbells to cheer on their teams.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:47 PM

Its so weird seeing 0 HRs and 0 RBIs for Mikey

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:47 PM

Its so weird seeing 0 HRs and 0 RBIs for Mikey

[ jules ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:47 PM

Hi All!

Great to have Lowell back, hope Jacoby will be back soon.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:48 PM

(is keeping up with the PawSox now) I wish I could've seen Mikey in Pawtucket - he sounded pretty good, from what I read.

(PawSox currently up 3-0 in the bottom of the fifth against Rochester.)

[ gretchen0720 ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:48 PM

tell me about it.... I almost never want to go back to the Trop... almost.

[ jules ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:48 PM

There seems to be more loud crowd noises on NESN tonight. It's weird with the surround sound because I can hear them behind me.

[ jenny again ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:49 PM

steph, mostly it was just great to see him in so intimate a setting. ;D

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:49 PM

Yes, it is great to see Mikey again. And i really hope that Jacoby's groin doesnt get serious. that would be terrible!

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:49 PM

...I need to get to Pawtucket. Especially since Jed will be there again soon.

[ kristina ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:49 PM

i love when you can hear random fan comments

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:50 PM

YOUUUKKKKKKKK

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:50 PM

[ kristina ] says:

on April 29, 2008 7:50 PM

[ starlightmusic ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:51 PM

Hi everyone! Work it YOOOOUUUUUK!

[ starlightmusic ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:52 PM

My guess is Ortiz is next in line to steal.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:52 PM

Michael Tejera at 66 pitches through five in Pawtucket. Not bad.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:52 PM

Ortiz has a stolen base on the season too i believe..haha

[ starlightmusic ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:53 PM

Why isn't Lowrie playing tonight? Crisp AND Lugo...sigh

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:54 PM

Jed is not playing because Jacoby is not playing. Oregonian Synergy.

Okay, that's a total crack theory. Sorry...!

[ Liza ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:54 PM

Hey guys--can't be on, but I just want to say:

A. YAY MIKEY'S BACK!

B. Youk? Stealing? What?

C. I'm going to Fenway--tomorrow! I'm psyched. We have great seats, too. Third base line, baby! Daisuke vs McGowan... :D

D. Oh man. That Eckstein. He is just so... SCRAPPY.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:54 PM

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 7:56 PM

Nice, Jon, nice. Now let's get him some run support!

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:01 PM

OK, we need baserunners here!

[ Lyndsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:02 PM

I'm having problems with the site too, other Lindsay.

ok I feel good...Lester is good thru 3. now let's just see if the lineup can freakin get some runs in and not waste another good start.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:02 PM

Neil Diamond**

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:02 PM

I love how you called me other LIndsay...haha

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:03 PM

(would feel good if her exams didn't start next week) I do like how Jon looks so far, but the offense is the key here...

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:04 PM

K, we got Lugo and Crisp? Uhh, i'm not even gonna say what im thinking..i jsut hope they prove me wrong..

and Lugo definately didnt =/

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:05 PM

Just curious, those of you who are actually watching the game, does Tek look like he's feeling better?

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:05 PM

I wish our guys wouldn't swing at the first pitch.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:05 PM

I dont think that he does. He still looks sick and weak. Just my opinion though. =P

[ jenny again ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:06 PM

doc's throwing first pitch strikes pretty consistently tonight, so i'm more ok w/ first pitch swings than i sometimes am. ;D doc's only walked 6 in 40+ innings this year (thanks, remy). o.0

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:06 PM

Awww, Rochester's finally on the board. Still 3-1 Pawtucket in the bottom of the sixth...

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:07 PM

Im not sure wat that video has to do with Red Sox. but that crash is pretty crazy! and only a broken ankle? wow, thats impressive!

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:08 PM

Mikey, please dont dive anymore! lol.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:08 PM

Sunbeam in right!

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:09 PM

Moss is in the game for J.D. Drew

[ jenny again ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:09 PM

god, that was a wicked cute cora/lowell moment we just witnessed. I LOVE NESN.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:09 PM

1863-- how do u watch the Paw Sox games?

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:09 PM

...ooh, lemme explain. Sunbeam is Brandon Moss. I read somewhere that he once tried to put a peanut butter sandwich in the toaster and earned himself the nickname 'Sunbeam.'

So what's up with J.D.? Anyone know?

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:10 PM

Drew looked fine to me..but at least we get to see Moss! =P

[ Lyndsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:10 PM

cold, wet weather cant be helping Tek much.

and I thought the same thing about Mike...which is the same thign I think every time Tom Brady runs the ball. no don't do that, you'll get hurt!

[ jules ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:10 PM

Neil Diamond on AI tonight. We always watch it (that's the nice thing about the games starting at 4pm).

JD hurt?

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:10 PM

I have them on Gameday (I hate that program, but it serves my purposes...). Go to MiLB.com (www.minorleaguebaseball.com) and check the International League games - you should be able to Gameday them.

Finally, they pulled Tejera! I would've done that earlier...it's 3-2 PawSox now.

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:10 PM

They haven't announced anything yet Steph. The dynamic duo think it's a leg issue

[ Lyndsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:11 PM

JD Drew stubbed his toe, so he's gonna go put a bandaid on it. he's out for the night.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:12 PM

Hmmm. That would make sense, though. I'm hearing nothing on the radio so far...

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:12 PM

haha

[ blood and whiskey ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:12 PM

85% of the Blue Jays look like they're taking a dump at the plate...

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:13 PM

How wonderful is Youk?

Band-Aid - I wouldn't be surprised!

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:13 PM

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:15 PM

Oh - this is a bit random, but Clay graduates from prospectdom this Friday! (That means our top two prospects will be Justin Masterson and Jed Lowrie. Ph34r.)

[ jenny again ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:15 PM

come on sox bats. BATS I SAY.

[ Lyndsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:16 PM

hey, anyone see the Kelli Pedroia story in the Globe today? I'm just curious - do any of the Red Sox wives actually work? they seem to be omni-present and have a lot of free time on their hands.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:16 PM

wtf did they do to Wally?!! lol.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:16 PM

No, i havnt read it. But im abt to look for it now. =P

[ blood and whiskey ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:17 PM

Wally cruelty.

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:17 PM

I read it last night on the Globe when it first went up. I linked to it earlier this morning.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:18 PM

Youk is the only one with a hit so far tonight. The rest of the lineup needs to catch up...

[ blood and whiskey ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:19 PM

wtf.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:20 PM

FAIL. At least Manny worked a count.

[ Lyndsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:20 PM

so since it seems like we may never get any hits off Holliday this season...I am hopeful that Toronto's bullpen totallly sucks.

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:20 PM

J.D. Drew left the game because his left ball was achy.

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:21 PM

J.D. Drew left the game because left ball didn't field right

/fixed

[ Lyndsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:22 PM

Lester, please let's not have this be the inning that you throw in the towel, as you are known to be.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:22 PM

Hey, radio, if you hadn't said that Jon hadn't given up any hits about twenty times, that wouldn't have happened!

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:23 PM

Aww, thats a rly nice pic!

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:23 PM

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:23 PM

Aww David Archuletas performance of Sweet Caroline is rly good!

[ kristina ] says:

tight quad issue for JD

[ blood and whiskey ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:24 PM

Lindsay, I was just "aweeing" at that picture!
and then I went on to see that Kelli wears Betsey Johnson.. *feels weird*

[ Lyndsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:24 PM

a "tight quad"? jesus guys, it's called stretching. these guys injure themselves running more often than my 65 year old dad.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:25 PM

I don't know much about "baseball wives" culture to this point. Do the Sox wives hang out together? Do volunteer work like Kelli does? BTW, that's a good cause to take up on her part. Melanoma is no joke.

[ Lyndsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:26 PM

Dusty looks pretty dang good there!

he married well....I wouldnt think he could get a chick like that.

[ Erin ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:27 PM

HAHA! Dustin loves American Idol.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:27 PM

Haha, i would LVOE to hang out with Dusty. he doest seem like a very funny guy.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:28 PM

That is a really sweet wedding pic.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:28 PM

Okay, after that first inning for Pawtucket nobody has wanted to hit the ball anymore. This game's just zipping along, though - I wouldn't be surprised to see it finish before the PawSox game.

[ kristina ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:28 PM

ok, girl moment, i love her dress....maybe because thats what my skirt looks like...yay for getting married in 5 months =)

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:28 PM

He probably watched it because him and seacrest have the whole "small" thing in common..haha

[ Lyndsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:29 PM

to give them credit, they do do a lot of charity work. but the younger ones without children like Kelli Pedroia or Ashley Papelbon don't seem to have their own careers. I guess they can afford not to, but still...I dont know, I just wonder what they do all day.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:29 PM

Kristina-- i said the same thing when i saw it! he dress is really pretty!

[ 1863_project ] says:

Okay, Sunbeam, show them why you're up here!

[ kristina ] says:

ok, back to baseball....yeah Moss

Is it a law now that every bride must wear the tube top gown? Not that she looks bad but I literally don't remember the last wedding picture I saw where the bride was wearing something other than the tube top gown. And there have been many I have seen that should have not gone down that route.

/thread hijack

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:31 PM

Yeah, that is a nice dress. Lyndsay, probably if they haven't yet gotten into charity work they...SHOP! Or something like that.

on April 29, 2008 8:31 PM

STEPHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

Never ever talk about the game going fast. You know the rule.

Crap, tie game! Damnit, Pawtucket!

[ Lyndsay ] says:

are those real boobs? they look all pushed up like fake ones.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:32 PM

Random question, and kinda stupid too, but im just curious on your opinions. but...do u think that kelsey Hawkins will be the next "Sox Wife"? or do you think that that wouldnt happen for awhile. I was on a website and someones opinion was that they would be engaged by the end of the season. but idk. lol

[ Lulu ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:32 PM

Garr. Nice game so far for Lester though.

Archuleta just sang Sweet Caroline. I thought it was pretty good.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:32 PM

Trish, is that what they're called now, tube top gown? I would have called it a strapless gown.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:32 PM

See, look. I screwed the PawSox over. And honestly, if the game goes longer, know what that means? People are hitting the ball. I'd like it if someone hit the ball...

[ Lyndsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:32 PM

looks like Dustin had more hair there.

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:33 PM

Yes, they're real and their spectacular.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:34 PM

Oh, Seinfeld! My family went through the entire series when I was away...I think they've seen all of it now.

[ blood and whiskey ] says:

I think that even if I were to marry a wealthy guy, I'd still work. The idea of being a housewife is awful to me..

my friends think I'm crazy for that, but..whatevs.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:34 PM

Lindsay, I don't know what to think about whether she'll be the next Sox wife. I know it would break a lot of hearts if they got engaged, though.

[ Erin ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:35 PM

blood- I'm with you there. I would go insane if I were a housewife

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:35 PM

...PawSox losing now. Damn.

Ooooh, Toronto has to change their May 25th promotion because it was Frank Thomas Bobblehead Day! That's pretty funny...

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:36 PM

Yeah, i dont know what Kelli did to her boobs for her wedding, but they arent that big!

[ Lyndsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:36 PM

Lindsay - unfortunately for us, yes I could definitely see that...she's pretty involved already with the team, she just ran the marathon with Timlin's and Schill's wives. she seems like a nice gal,- who knows. Jacoby is pretty focused on staying in the bigs right now and establishing himself so I could see that getting in the way of them getting married right away - plus they don't even live in the same city right now (she lives in NY).

[ Lyndsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:37 PM

so Lester - 5 innings, 70 pitches, not too shabby. glad to see he's not walking as many as he usually does.

nope, I think it was just the effect of the strapless dress pushign everythign up

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:38 PM

Steph, I was just thinking the same thing...about hitting the ball.

B&W, I'd probably work at least part time if I were married to a wealthy man. Or else I'd get involved with the volunteer work that I'd like to do but can't because I don't have the energy after a full day's work.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:38 PM

Yeah, its like even though im only 17, and have absolutely NO CHANCE with him, it would still break my heart...lol

i probably sound rediculous saying this, but w/e lol.

[ Lyndsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:38 PM

right now Ian's like, "so now we're gossiping about the wives while a game's going on, is that what we're doing? any other guys on this board?"

[ Lyndsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:39 PM

I think I'd rather see Jacoby married than tramping around town with Penthouse pets.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:39 PM

haha. sry Ian! lol.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:40 PM

I was going to say the same thing about the strapless dress. She's definitely a cute person.

What is Kelsey doing in NY? Is that where she's originally from.

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:40 PM

I don't mind at all. I'm just not saying that I wouldn't throw either one out of bed.

Dang it. I just did.

[ kristina ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:40 PM

those dresses are very binding...lots of sucking in and tieing things really tight...usually makes the boobs look bigger....

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:40 PM

Yeah, but Jacoby was raised Mormon, so hes more sophisticated, and i couldnt see him being like Clay...lol

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:40 PM

ECL - If saying 'no-hitter' wasn't working, I figured encouraging a longer game would get the bats going a little bit - then the players would do the whole 'reverse psychology' thing that seems to work so well around here...I hope...(crosses her fingers)

Of course, I inadvertently may have cost my beloved PawSox their game in Rochester. Argh. (is an idiot)

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:41 PM

Kelsey and Jacoby met in college at Oregon State - her family lives in Oregon, if I recall correctly.

...I know too much about Oregon.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:41 PM

Yes, Kelsey's from NY.

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:42 PM

It's karma Steph. Ask Earl.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:42 PM

Yeah really, about the Penthouse pets, LOL.

Hey, the WRKO guys are talking about Eckstein. Sounds like he's about Dustin's size. A wee one on each team...

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:42 PM

Yeah, they met at Oregon state, but they were just friends. They Kelsey became a nanny in Maine and her and jsacoby were reunited because he was in Double A, and thats when they started dating.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:43 PM

Nice, Jon! This's what we expected from him...he actually made it six innings!

I think Eckstein is a little taller than Dustin is, but I've never seen them next to each other, so...

[ Lyndsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:43 PM

she's originally from Oregon and went to college with him. they were friends and started dating when she was living in Maine or something and he was with the Portland team. I read that she is a teacher in a private school in NYC now and lives in Manhattan. so that's not a bad commute, I know plenty of people who do the Boston-NY thing. my first thought on seeing her getting on the plane to Japan was "how the hell did she get that much time off from work?"

why the hell do I know so much about Kelsey Hawkins? this is sad.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:43 PM

Lugo, Crisp and Pleats are up.

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:44 PM

Phil Hughes rocked again.

3 2/3 innings, 8 hits, 6 runs, 4 walks. plus he's responsible for two men on base right now.

Skanks losing 6-2 in 4th

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:44 PM

Craig Hansen's perfect ERA is in jeopardy...he's put somebody on (by hitting them), and right now he's letting some unearned runs in. If that runner he plunked gets in...

Phew, he got out of it! But Rochester is up 5-3...argh.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:44 PM

Lyndsay-- we definately both know there whole story! haha.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:45 PM

Ah, didn't know she was from NY.

Steph, I'll have to get my sis and brother in law to give me some good Oregon links to pass on to you(they're in Portland). They've been to Madras, incidentally. Way out in the middle of nowhere, apparently.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:47 PM

(goes to check Portland) They're also losing, down 4-0 in the bottom of the fourth...could somebody win? (Looking at you, big club. Set the example so Portland comes back.)

(drools) ...Oregon...

(is pathetic)

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:47 PM

Actually, that's a really sweet story about reuniting all the way on the other side of the country. For some reason I thought that he played in Portland, OR. Didn't realize it was the one in Maine. Guess it was just the Oregon thing on my mind.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:48 PM

grrr.

[ blood and whiskey ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:49 PM

no,srslywtf.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:49 PM

I always thought the Portland/Portland thing would be a bit of a point of confusion in the clubhouse, at least with Jed and Jacoby: "So in Portland - " "Which one?"

Can we, y'know, do something here? At least seeing Lester go six is nice...

[ Erin ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:50 PM

How many pitches dose Lester have so far?

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:50 PM

36 outs in teh game, 24 via the groundball.

Eckstein has 10 assists.

[ Trish ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:50 PM

No, tube top's my name for it. I guess the high fashion world would say strapless. ;) Either way, it's totally played out. When everyone wants the tube top gown regardless of whether or not such a style actually looks good on them (and on many it doesn't) it's gone too far. Look at the wedding pages in your local paper; I guarantee 95% of the brides are in strapless gowns.

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:51 PM

76 coming into the inning.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:51 PM

...the radio just gave me a total heart attack...

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:52 PM

Halladay has thrown an economical 71 pitches through 6 innings.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:53 PM

Lester is just doing amazing tonight! If we dont get runs im gonna friggin flip out. because that will mean that the last 3 starters were absolutely amazing, yet we still cant get a friggin win!

(knock on wood abt Lester)

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:54 PM

Is it just me, or do our pitchers only work this well when the bats aren't doing their job and vice versa? Just a thought...

Somebody hates us. Meh.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:54 PM

4th walk? Wow, i missed some walks tonight..lol i though he had like 1... =X

[ Trish ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:54 PM

What is it with dead Sox bats? Oh, well, better to do it in April than August.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:55 PM

oh, that was a little scary...

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:55 PM

that was only the second fly ball out by either team in the game

[ blood and whiskey ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:55 PM

okay, Papi, Manny, and Youk up.
lets get something going now? please?

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:55 PM

Thanks, Sunbeam! (breathes a sigh of relief)

[ Lyndsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:56 PM

yeah, exactly, if only we could get the bats working when the pitchers are working...they're out of sync right now.

and I think this might be Lester's best outing yet.

what the hell bats - wake the fuck up!!!

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:57 PM

Steph- I wrote this on Monday about that.

What is going on with the Boston Red Sox besides the flu bug is quite normal in the game of baseball.

Sometimes, the pitchers will be lights out while the bats are stagnant. The reverse is true as well. When both are coming together at the same time is usually when you see teams go on winning streaks.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:57 PM

i hate that damn shift

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:58 PM

Ian - exactly! You totally nailed it on the head! They just need to find the common ground...which they hopefully will do by the end of tonight.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:58 PM

Trish...as an unhappy middle-aged single, I sort of avoid looking at wedding pictures in the paper. ;-) So I'll have to take your word for it.

C'MON MANNY!

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:58 PM

Manny!! Homerun 497??

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:59 PM

please Manny?

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 8:59 PM

I've been around this game too long not to know that.

It happens. nothing you can do about it either.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:00 PM

It does...I almost wish they could have had two off-days instead of just one, if only because the 20 games in a row was definitely showing its effect at the end there...

C'mon, Youk, you have a hit tonight - let's see it!

[ Trish ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:01 PM

Aw, I'm sorry, ECL. Then again there's days I wish I was single again, mostly so I don't get embarrassed by my husband catching me ogling cute baseball boys. :D

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:02 PM

Steph, this is the first of 18 in a row here.

[ Jess ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:02 PM

Ok I'm getting sick of our pitchers being absolutely brilliant and then our offense not doing anything.

[ Lyndsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:02 PM

seriously - 7 innings and it's 9:03? damn, I wish Yankees games would go this fast.

I need the early bedtime tonight too - I think I'm catching the sox flu thru the tv :-(

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:03 PM

NO TALKING ABOUT THE LENGTH OF THE GAME WHILE IT'S GOING ON

[ blood and whiskey ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:03 PM

MERDE.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:04 PM

i hate that commerical. "I said 2K, K?!"

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:04 PM

See, then they definitely deserved a second day off. You've got 38 games with only one day off in between - it's definitely a strenuous first two months we're having here. And these guys have been jet-setting all over the world, too, which only adds to it...

(I think Selig would think I'm being too soft on the defending World Series Champions, though. Sorry - I'm just really cynical tonight because exams are coming up and I'm nervous...)

[ Jessi ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:04 PM

On a more positive note, Yankees are down 6-2. Though I have to admit, I haven't felt that bad for a pitcher in a long time, watching Phil Hughes get booed off the mound.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:04 PM

It's okay, Trish. Sometimes it's really painful, but for the most part I'm resigned to it On the other hand, if I were to find anyone at this late date, he would have to put up with a whole lot of ogling of baseball boys. I'm incorrigible. Don't know how many guys would be okay with that.

[ Trish ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:05 PM

Was the "Sox flu" stomach-related or lung-related? Because I caught the flu when I was in Boston; I'm almost positive a Sox fan saw me decked out in my Yankees gear and coughed on me at Fenway. Flying with a fever and sore throat really blows.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:05 PM

(growls) Bad fans, booing the rookie! You don't boo rookies!

I like what they do in Japan better - when a player is in a slump and nothing's going their way, the fans actually cheer them on even more passionately to try to help them out of it. (Kaz Matsui mentioned this once when he was still with the Mets, and I've stuck by it ever since - because I think he's right, and because I was one of his few supporters in New York.)

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:06 PM

As long as you aren't letting them (baseball players) get their bats wet, I'm sure a guy wouldn't mind

[ blood and whiskey ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:06 PM

Hughes got booed? nooo, I have such an unexplainable soft spot for him! :[
poor guy. (but then again, lolz, yankees.)

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:06 PM

Trish, ur a yankee fan?

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:06 PM

Really? Hughes got booed off the mound? Wow!

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:07 PM

Their flu was of the lung variety

[ Erin ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:07 PM

Phil Hughes got booed again?Poor Kid.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:07 PM

B&W - it might be that Hughes was raised as a Sox fan. I've always liked that about him.

(I'm not so sure the kid was ready, though.)

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:08 PM

Real fans don't boo their players. Typical New Yorkers.

They need to be more like Boston fans. We just bitch about them to no end.

[ Trish ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:08 PM

Indeed I am, but I have many friends who are Sox fans and I don't hate them nearly as much as I used to. Except for Youkilis, that is.

[ blood and whiskey ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:09 PM

maybe that's it..:[
oh boy, Lester. beauteefulll.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:09 PM

Oh, y do u hate Youk?

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:10 PM

Tito may have just broken his hand slapping Lester's ass he hit it so hard.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:10 PM

Oh, Mike, you've looked fantastic tonight - but Jon's looked even better! This is just...

I'll have whatever Josh, Clay and Jon are drinking. I think they could use it in Pawtucket tonight...

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:11 PM

Ian, i had to rewind-- and he did hit it pretty damn hard.

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:11 PM

Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:11 PM

Well, that's it - we can say goodbye to Craig Hansen's spotless ERA. It just went poof in Rochester, NY.

[ Liza ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:11 PM

They booed Phil Hughes? WHAT?

I actually do like Hughes. He's a nice guy. He's not a jerk like some (coughA-Rodcough).

Lester looks FIERCE. Wow. Just... BAMBAMBAM. Eight innings!

Unfortunately/fortunately, depending on which part of my brain you're asking, Halladay looks really good, too.

Jenny - From earlier, it will definitely be kind of really freezing. I hope there's no wind. :P

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:11 PM

Ian, i had to rewind-- and he did hit it pretty damn hard.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:12 PM

...oh my God, an Airplane reference. That's an epic win right there.

[ blood and whiskey ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:13 PM

Ian, surely you can't be serious?

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:14 PM

My name is Lyle Overbay. Look what I found in my glove.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:14 PM

I'm not sure who it is...but they are definately standing on Tavarez...lol

[ Trish ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:14 PM

LONG story. And no, I didn't date him. :D

Phil just needs to calm down and stop reading his press. But yeah, not cool to boo him.

[ blood and whiskey ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:14 PM

whoa, Tek.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:15 PM

WE GOT A HIT! Good goin', Tek!

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:15 PM

Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit amphetamines

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:15 PM

Wouldn't it be amazing if Lugo randomly homered right now?

[ Jessi ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:16 PM

Yepp they booed all the way to the dugout. It was the 4th inning and he had already given up 6 runs. He walked w/ a man on first so Joe called on the bullpen...as much I enjoy the Yankees losing, this a 21 yr old rookie. Poor kid.

[ Trish ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:17 PM

There is never a bad time to use a line from "Airplane!"

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:17 PM

Its Hansen-

lol

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:18 PM

Oww. That picture looks painful.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:18 PM

Oh, Hansen, whose perfect ERA is now gone...the PawSox bullpen just imploded tonight. I'm starting to think that whatever happened to the Sox bullpen went back to Pawtucket with Hansen...

[ Jessi ] says:

I cannot stand Lugo.

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:18 PM

[ Lindsay ] says:

[ Trish ] says:

Damn, hope he wasn't wearing spikes.

[ Trish ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:20 PM

Joey, do you like gladiator movies?

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:20 PM

Well, look who it is, everyone! I guess now we can talk about Lester without having to worry about jinxing the kid...

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:20 PM

Do you know what it's like to fall in the mud and get kicked... in the head... with an iron boot? Of course you don't, no one does. It never happens. It's a dumb question... skip it.

[ blood and whiskey ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:20 PM

lindsay, kind of like: (maybe this will work? maybe?)

"I wonder who this is"

"lolz, it's just Jonathan"

-SPEAKING OF JONATHAN...

[ kristina ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:20 PM

dam f&*K Lugo.....i don't even think that made sense

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:20 PM

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:20 PM

That actually feels really good on your back when someone does it.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:21 PM

Is today 'play on SittingStill.net' day? (Don't make me go into her archives and start pulling out pictures of Jed to spam you all with...)

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:21 PM

No more pictures please, there's a game going on.

[ Lyndsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:21 PM

poor Phil - he needs/needed more time in Triple A. they rushed him up probably cuz Hank wanted them to, and he's an ignoramus who knows nothing about player development. "did you see that? that kid from AAA threw a no-hitter for the sox last night! get me a guy who can throw me a no-hitter. and make sure he's young and unprepared. I want a Lester too - get me a Lester! now I don't care if his arms fall off, we've gotta match those dang Red Sox player for player!"

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:22 PM

Lindsay, that's a cool pic of Dustin.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:23 PM

Lyndsay - I totally agree that Hughes was rushed. He's definitely not ready to be up here full-time yet, and it's showing. It's definitely working out for us, but on the other hand...

Hey, think Hank will get frustrated and try to trade him?

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:23 PM

It was a rough place - the seediest dive on the wharf. Populated with every reject and cutthroat from Bombay to Calcutta. It's worse than Detroit.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:23 PM

Paps is doing good, of course. however those damn bats need to friggin pick it up!

[ Trish ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:24 PM

Phil's not a rookie--came up at the beginning of last season.

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:24 PM

Why's he calling me meat? I'm the one driving a Porsche.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:25 PM

Ian, what random planet are you on right now? LOL...

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:25 PM

How many innings does Phil have under his belt? He might still qualify as a rookie if he doesn't have a certain amount...it depends.

I still think the kid could stand to get some more development...

Wow, Jonathan.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:25 PM

I would be horrified to have to face Paperbon. lol

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:25 PM

The world is not made for people cursed with self-awareness.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:26 PM

10 pitches- 9 strikes. and the 1 ball was intentional. omfg Jonathan.

ughh =(

[ blood and whiskey ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:27 PM

how anticlimactic.. =P

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:27 PM

...wow, I think that was only the fifth hit tonight overall.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:27 PM

Come on Paps!! 2 more strikes. u got this!

[ blood and whiskey ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:27 PM

HOLY CRAP, DUSTIN.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:27 PM

DUSTIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[ Jade ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:28 PM

PEEWEE!!

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:28 PM

WHAT A FUCKING GRAB BY PLEATS!!

[ Lyndsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:28 PM

as everyone knows, Hank has no patience for player development. and he has no patience with his GM either - I don't know how Cashman can put up with that shit year after year. that's why I don't think this new 'let's nurture the young prospects' thing is a bunch of BS and isn't going to work for Cashman -because ultimately, he has no say, it's all Steinbrenner, and no way he can tolerate any kind of rebuilding year if it means losing a shot at the pennant this year.

NICE PLAY PEDRO!!!

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:28 PM

...I love Dustin so, so much. He's a genius. That sounded a lot like the 'fuck yeah' play from Clay's no-no...

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:29 PM

I can't wait to see that one on the rewind!

[ Lyndsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:29 PM

I meant that it IS a bunch of BS - i negated my statement by accident.

[ kristina ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:29 PM

yeah Pleats!!!!

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:29 PM

that ball almost took of Papelboner's head in the process too.

[ Jessi ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:29 PM

DUSTINNNN!!!! Haha I love when he makes those unbelievable grabs!

[ Anonymous ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:30 PM

Larry: Excuse me, but what the hell's going on out here?
Crash Davis: Well, Nuke's scared because his eyelids are jammed and his old man's here. We need a live... is it a live rooster?
[Jose nods]
Crash Davis: . We need a live rooster to take the curse off Jose's glove and nobody seems to know what to get Millie or Jimmy for their wedding present.
[to the players]
Crash Davis: Is that about right?
[the players nod]
Crash Davis: We're dealing with a lot of shit.
Larry: Okay, well, uh... candlesticks always make a nice gift, and uh, maybe you could find out where she's registered and maybe a place-setting or maybe a silverware pattern. Okay, let's get two! Go get 'em

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:30 PM

Alright, now we got crisp, pleats and papi.. come on!!!!!

[ Trish ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:31 PM

He pitched 71 innings last year, a pitcher has to have less than 50 in order to qualify as a rookie. The Yankees identify this as his second season.

[ Lyndsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:31 PM

yay! I love John MacDonald. He's fun to watch.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:31 PM

COME ON PLEATS!!!!!!!

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:32 PM

He is a second year player if he's passed 50 innings like Trish said.

It's under 150 at-bats for hitters to still be considered a rookie. Which is why ellsbury is a rookie this year.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:32 PM

He's up to 71 already? I didn't realize he had that many...

(Clay is an official rookie on Friday. He's all set to graduate from prospect status!)

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:33 PM

come on ortiz! we need you!

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:33 PM

...okay, now would be perfect. It really, really would. C'mon...

[ Trish ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:33 PM

That was just last year. I think he's around 92 or so now.

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:34 PM

C'mon Meat, throw me that weak-ass shit!

[ blood and whiskey ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:34 PM

I just nearly pooed meself.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:34 PM

92 now? Either way, he's past the innings minimum...

...oh, foul...straighten it out...

[ Lyndsay ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:34 PM

so if this thing goes extra innings...who we got up in the pen?

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:35 PM

[ Lyndsay ] says:

come on, Ells, sack up and get out there.

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:36 PM

YOUK can't hit in the clutch

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:38 PM

Do you really need someone in the pen if your starter is Roy Halladay? He's amazing...such a workhorse. It reminds me of deadball-era pitchers...

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:38 PM

Piney logic works again.

[ blood and whiskey ] says:

sorry, Halladay.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:40 PM

Are they all jumping up and down like they just won the WS?

[ Ian ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:40 PM

Lindsay, I was using Piney's logic. It's worked before so I figured why not try it again

[ Trish ] says:
on April 29, 2008 9:41 PM

GAH ANYONE BUT YOUKILIS GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

LOL at Halladay pulling a Josh.

[ kristina ] says:
