Just stopping in to say hi. Not sure if I'll get back. It's radio show night.

[ fc ] says:

After the thriller at Fenway last night, I'm spending tonight nice and warm and dry at home.

(Ooh, sweet! PawSox won! Niiiice.)

Also, nice to see Sunbeam in the lineup...I'm worried about J.D., of course, but Brandon's here for a reason!

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:08 PM

Yea, and in the blog that i read, they were talking abt how theo must be happy that he sent Corey down and not Moss! we'd be screwed! lol.

They also said that Jacoby groin is still a little sore, but hes fine. But they dont wanna push it. But i hope he plays tomorrow, cus i'll be at the game ;)

[ fc ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:09 PM

I saw Tito quoted as calling him "Mossy." Hadn't heard that before. I like it.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:11 PM

Yea, i saw that too! haha.

and whats up with all the empty seats behind homeplate? i believe that if ur paying that much money for a game, you should be there for the ENTIRE game! lol.

DICE KK!!

[ fc ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:11 PM

Dice-K: 1-2-3. Nice!

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:11 PM

Where is everyone? =(

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:11 PM

(whistles) Good job, Daisuke!

[ Piney61 ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:12 PM

They could be running late, Lindsay. But regardless, they shouldn't be.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:12 PM

When we do the DICE K thing, so we keep the original K and then at the K's for each strikeout? or does hte original K count as a strikeout? lol. like right now, would it be DICE K or DICE KK??

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:12 PM

Yea, only 8 online right now. Usually at this times there like 25.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:13 PM

Hi all! Just walked in the door -- first thing I did was get my audio/Gameday running. Now it's time to unload two weeks worth of groceries and grab some dinner. Will be here off and on this evening...

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:13 PM

Youk and Papi..lets do this!

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:13 PM

Hot Dustin on Dustin action, everyone!

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:14 PM

Yea, i'm abt to do some accounting homework. so i'll be back in a little bit. =P

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:14 PM

...or not. Okay.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:15 PM

I was thinking that too 1863. Dustin vs. Dustin. lol. but our Dustin lost the battle =(

[ fc ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:15 PM

Youk did NOT like that call.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:16 PM

Dustin (pitcher) shaved off his awkward looking sideburns! thank god! haha.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:17 PM

Grrr! i thought it would drop! =/

[ fc ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:17 PM

OH MY. Did everyone catch that from Youk in the dugout?

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:18 PM

fc-- i did!!! haha.

[ Adam ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:18 PM

that was fantastic, Youk with the loud "fuck" in the dugout

[ Piney61 ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:19 PM

LOL audible f-word

[ kristina ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:19 PM

hi everyone......i too have work to do tonight...writing a paper on psychosocial development (i almost can't contain my excitement)

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:21 PM

...I need NESN, if only for moments like that...

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:21 PM

YOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUKKKKKKK

[ fc ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:23 PM

Youk: That was a message for Trish. ;)

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:26 PM

(briefly messes around with a fictional person's Livejournal layout) ...yeah, I know I'm a loser...

Nice to have Youk back over at first, isn't it?

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:28 PM

Do any of you know why Trish hates Youk so much??

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:29 PM

Yay, Manny!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:33 PM

Lindsay, I was wondering the same thing. She seems to really, really despise him.

[ fc ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:38 PM

Pedey! Easy with that shoulder, buddy!

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:38 PM

...Dustin is amazing. We need to clone him.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:39 PM

Sounds like that must have been quite a catch.

[ fc ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:39 PM

Steph, at this rate we should clone him for spare parts.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:40 PM

Dustin is amazing, like Rem Dawg said - if theres a ball he can catch, he'll make sure that he catches it.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:40 PM

I would say "except make the clone a little taller" but i like the fact that Pleats is short. =P lol.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:41 PM

I love that Dustin's short. It makes me feel better about being short (I'm 5'2").

[ kristina ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:41 PM

oh pleats, he's just awesome!

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:43 PM

Am i the only one that loved Rios' little mohawk? Its gone now, but he had it during the last series- and its so cute! haha.

Yeah, it definately says not for public use, but w/e- its the only 1 i could find...lol

[ Jessi ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:44 PM

Hey guys, just turned on the game - did I miss anything exciting?

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:45 PM

A couple of good defensive plays from Youk and Dustin, but otherwise not too much...

[ fc ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:45 PM

Jessi, you missed what may turn out to be the last visual/audio from the dugout that NESN ever broadcasts without a 'Beckett delay.'

[ Jessi ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:47 PM

Haha ok, I'll be sure to rewatch it later ;)

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:48 PM

Because this is adorable and totally worth seeing: Jed Lowrie Can't Deadpan, Installment 77.

[ fc ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:50 PM

You had me at "Timlin...giggling."

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:51 PM

Does she not take the best photographs ever? I love her so much!

[ Jessi ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:55 PM

Aww I love Jed - I can't wait to see him play more.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:55 PM

what would all of you give the sox as a grade for April?

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:55 PM

Don gave them a B-

[ Adam ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:57 PM

Don is a Hard Marker

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:57 PM

Off the top of my head, and without sitting around pondering stats and scores too much, I would say B.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:59 PM

Someone ask Don if any of these guys can do extra credit to get that up. (I doubt Jed would be satisfied with a B- - he went to Stanford...)

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 30, 2008 7:59 PM

Yea, i would give them a B or a B+ i'm not sure. Because the flu and the injuries really killed them. However, we did have a lot of late combacks which was a +, but hmm, i'm not sure.

[ fc ] says:
on April 30, 2008 8:00 PM

i know! They were out sick with the flu!

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 30, 2008 8:01 PM

See, Don, they were sick - let them do their makeup work. You can't mark them down for being absent...

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 30, 2008 8:03 PM

Yeah, Don even said that he has high expectations...lol

[ Ian ] says:
on April 30, 2008 8:04 PM

You missed Super Pedroia.

[ fc ] says:
on April 30, 2008 8:05 PM

I don't believe it - it's Jim Rice!

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 30, 2008 8:05 PM

lmfao Ian! that just made my day! I'm like choking from laughing right now!

[ Ian ] says:
on April 30, 2008 8:06 PM

I figured by adding the theme music, it was perfect.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 30, 2008 8:07 PM

...if awesome Photoshops like that are the result of Vernon Wells talking about our guys, then Vernon needs to talk about the Red Sox more.

[ fc ] says:
on April 30, 2008 8:10 PM

OH PAPI! :(

[ Ian ] says:
on April 30, 2008 8:11 PM

Thank you thank you.

I'll be back in a bit I think. I need to eat since the radio show took up the dinner hour for me.

[ Adam ] says:
on April 30, 2008 8:12 PM

anyone think that either Don or Jerry are going to die on air one day from their laughing? I'm just waiting for the day Jerry actually coughs up a lung and collapses from laughing too much.

[ fc ] says:
on April 30, 2008 8:13 PM

I think they're smoking something up in that booth.

[ Krystle! ] says:
on April 30, 2008 8:15 PM

OT - I have to ask you guys this question.

I know that Beckett has an older brother named Jesse. Does anyone know the other brother's name, my friend and I are trying to figure it out. =]!

[ Jessi ] says:
on April 30, 2008 8:15 PM

Ugh I got to go work on a paper, I'll hopefully be back in an hour though. There better be at least 5 (Red Sox) runs on the board by then!

[ fc ] says:
on April 30, 2008 8:19 PM

The dugout-cam RULES.

[ jules ] says:
on April 30, 2008 8:24 PM

Hi All!

Wicked long, annoying, sucky day. BUT...the Sox are on TV and there's some shiraz in the pantry ;-)

Oh Mikey, too bad that didn't go out.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 30, 2008 8:25 PM

...damnit. The radio had me going there...

[ fc ] says:
on April 30, 2008 8:26 PM

Yay, Sean Casey is reportedly arleady feeling fine.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 30, 2008 8:27 PM

1863-- u dont have NESN??

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 30, 2008 8:28 PM

I'm from New Jersey and I go to college in Pennsylvania, so I've never had NESN. (lives in the Dark Ages!)

[ fc ] says:
on April 30, 2008 8:32 PM

NICE FIELDING DICE-K

[ jules ] says:
on April 30, 2008 8:32 PM

[ fc ] says:
on April 30, 2008 8:37 PM

Double - damn. And Dice-K's pitch count is creeping up.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 30, 2008 8:40 PM

...well, that was interesting.

[ fc ] says:
on April 30, 2008 8:40 PM

YEAH!
'Night, Daisuke. Job well done.

[ jules ] says:
on April 30, 2008 8:40 PM

Did they say that his count is over 100?

I didn't quite catch it--am shopping for Mother's Day gifts (thank God for the Internet, where else can you buy and Eydie Gorme CD *and* a NASCAR t-shirt ;-).

[ Piney61 ] says:
on April 30, 2008 8:41 PM

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 30, 2008 8:43 PM

Daisuke is at 102 pitches, and 63 of those were strikes.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 30, 2008 8:43 PM

I have a new post on my blog incase anyones interested. =P

[ shark ] says:
on April 30, 2008 8:43 PM

Beckett's younger brother's name is Caleb...
I think that makes me pathetic..I actually know ..

[ jules ] says:
on April 30, 2008 8:43 PM

LOL, Piney.

The Jays' pitching is doing a great job. Of course, our bats really need to wake up.

NOW.

[ shark ] says:
on April 30, 2008 8:44 PM

[ jules ] says:

Piney, now I'm picturing a LOLcats with sad kittens captioned "Kitteh waaaehh," which is more or less what I used to say to my long-deceased cat when she got an unhappy look on her face.

Whew...at least the damage was limited...

[ Piney61 ] says:

[ Ian ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:32 PM

[ Adam ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:32 PM

you know you're in trouble when you can't get Coco and Lugo out

[ kristina ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:32 PM

ok Lugo, do something good here.....like that...i'm a slow typer tonight....probably why my paper isn't even half done!

[ Ian ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:32 PM

ACTUALLY as Steph will attest too. My Super Pedroia picture took home the cake tonight.

[ fc ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:33 PM

I'm still waiting for Trish to show up so I can fight her.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:33 PM

Kristina, you're not the only one writing a paper tonight - I've got two due Friday...

[ starr4 ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:33 PM

OK, that one was silly. Humor still intact.
Ian is a fine name.

[ Lindsay ] says:

Ian: loved the Superman pix and the quote. Brilliant.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:34 PM

(crossing all fingers and toes)

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:35 PM

Dusty needs to shave! =P haha.

[ Ian ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:35 PM

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s Super Pedroia

[ Ian ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:36 PM

Thank you starr. I had fun making that one. Got to a fit of laughing when I threw in the theme music as well.

[ kristina ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:37 PM

yeah, baseball is not good for my paper writing skills....I think school needs to end earlier ....well at least we sent Coco to third....come on Youk, do it again!

[ fc ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:37 PM

Ian, the music put it over the top.

[ starr4 ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:37 PM

His catch deserved nothing less, IMHO.

[ kristina ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:37 PM

thats not what I meant

[ Ian ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:38 PM

thanks fc.
bows nods makes sure his junk stays in his shorts.

That took all of 5 minutes to do.

[ fc ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:40 PM

Steph, taht's a keeper. ;)

[ Ian ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:40 PM

Pleats should have his walk-up music changed to that.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:40 PM

haha!

[ Piney61 ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:40 PM

I'd find this theme much more fitting for Pedroia: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xt-PzZyb7MM

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:41 PM

This is why I shouldn't have Photoshop. (is wasting time and is not writing her term paper)

[ starr4 ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:41 PM

Steph, that's a great macro for Youk.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:41 PM

I'm gonna go get a bowl of ice cream =D haha, be back in a sec.

[ fc ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:41 PM

Wait - Pleats sleeps?

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:41 PM

Thanks...I'm really just trying to put off writing a term paper, though. (is being bad)

[ Ian ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:42 PM

If you make one with Papelboner, it should say got wood?

Get it Papelboner, wood.

Don't mind me, i'm operating on about an hour of sleep,

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:42 PM

lmaoo Piney!!

[ Ian ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:43 PM

Piney that was his theme song sicne that's what I called him last year. Everything changes when Vernon Wells calls you Superman

[ starr4 ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:43 PM

Yeah, Steph, Antony and Cleopatra is a good Roman history tale, you can make that work. If they'd close out this game, you could get more work done.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:44 PM

Does paps have bad eyes, and thats why he has to lean in to see Tek? Or does he just do that cus its a habit? lol.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:44 PM

That IS Dustin's theme song. Just like Jacoby and Jed totally use Oregon Homeboy.

(Also, Gears of War - great game.)

[ kristina ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:44 PM

procrastination is a true art 18.....after 4 years of college and 2 years of grad school, i have mastered it!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:45 PM

Kristina, I have now had 49 YEARS to master procrastination (she says as she continues to NOT do the pile of dishes in the sink).

Nice going, Paps!

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:46 PM

WOULLDA BEEN A DOUBLE PLAY ANYWAYS, BUT W/E- STILL A NICE PICKOFF. =P

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:46 PM

(is a loser, which is why she fails at procreation) Never even been on a date. Procrastination, though, is something I'm really good at...

[ Ian ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:46 PM

sorry wouldn't be me if I didn't have fun with that statement

[ ecl1958 ] says:

on April 30, 2008 9:47 PM

Anddd he just threw at 99mph!

[ Ian ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:48 PM

I'll be honest at first I really did think it said procreation.

I'm shot. I couldn't sleep last night and just as I'm falling asleep at about 7 am, some asshole decides to beep their horn outside my window.

If I didn't live in area where guns are the norm with peeps, I would have gone out and said something.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:49 PM

Little Dustin- what would we do without you?!

[ fc ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:49 PM

THANK YOU JESUS

I hope you can sleep better tonight. Maybe some Benadryl?

[ 1863_project ] says:

[ Ian ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:50 PM

I'm not in a bad neighborhood. I live a 1/4 mile from the police station

[ kristina ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:50 PM

nice one Ian....i've slept about 4 hours in the past two nights so I had to read that a few times before I got it

[ Ian ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:51 PM

smacks self for making a funny no one got.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:51 PM

Aha -- your neighbors are all cops, and they just got off a bad shift, I see!

maybe rosie can help me sleep tonight

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:51 PM

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:52 PM

Oh, wait, I was talking about the 'procreation' thing. Sorry - I wasn't paying attention...

[ kristina ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:52 PM

ok, let win it in the 9th, extra innings would be really bad for my the paper writing

[ Ian ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:52 PM

No, i live in a good neighborhood, the problem is New Haven is the murder capital of CT lately. so you never know around here.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:53 PM

That's all right Ian, I don't get most jokes, and most people don't get stuff that I find funny. My sense of humor must be really abnormal.

[ Ian ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:53 PM

said with a smile and I'm joking. :D:D

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:54 PM

Well, Ian, I live within eyesight of the worst housing project in my city. I hear gunfire on a regular basis, and I walk no farther than the top of my driveway (to take the garbage out), so I understand where you're coming from.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:55 PM

The radio is talking about running Jed for Papi.

(stops functioning)

[ Ian ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:55 PM

Rut roh raggy. Big Papi is clutching his knee

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:55 PM

[ Lindsay ] says:

on April 30, 2008 9:57 PM

...missing visual...(resorts to mental images)

[ starr4 ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:57 PM

Big Papi has a bandage, or brace under those pants, and possibly that's bothering him as well as the knee itself?

LOWRIE!!!!!

[ fc ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:57 PM

JED FOR PAPI

[ Ian ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:57 PM

[ kristina ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:58 PM

ohh, here comes Jed....but crossing fingers hoping Papi is ok

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:58 PM

...it took that long for someone to make a Beverly Hillbillies joke? (made a few during the winter meetings)

[ Ian ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:58 PM

Yeah we have some section 8 housing down the road but it's not bad where i live. it's usually quiet except for the douchebag who beeped this morning

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:58 PM

Mikey!! come on, u need some Rbi's! and right now is the perfect time to get some!

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:58 PM

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:59 PM

Poor sore Papi...

[ Ian ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:59 PM

Ever since Beckett wrote Jeb Lowry on the ball, he's JEB to me.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 30, 2008 9:59 PM

JEB Stuart?

(Okay, bad history joke. Sorry!)

[ blood and whiskey ] says:

[ Adam ] says:
on April 30, 2008 10:00 PM

[ Ian ] says:

Moss can't hit in the clutch. Hands Piney another qtr.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 30, 2008 10:02 PM

I chuckle every time I hear the "Jeb" reference. I actually know a Jeb, actually an acquaintance from my music-making days. His name is actually James but his initials spell Jeb. He's a pretty laidback guy who does indeed have country roots but plays in a pretty sophisticated roots rock band that tours nationally.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 30, 2008 10:03 PM

Ugh. Didn't reread before I hit send. Didn't mean to write "actually" three times.

[ fc ] says:
on April 30, 2008 10:03 PM

OH FUCK

F*&K Dammit....tring to curb my use of profanitys right now

[ Ian ] says:
on April 30, 2008 10:04 PM

That's probably what should have happened last night

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 30, 2008 10:04 PM

DAMN, THAT WAS A NICE BLOCK THOUGH. i hate to say this- but if ortiz stayed in he would've still been at 3rd cus he wouldnt have gone. =(

[ starr4 ] says:
on April 30, 2008 10:05 PM

Crap. Go TEK!!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 30, 2008 10:05 PM

The radio play by play...I was SO sure that he was going to be safe!

[ fc ] says:
on April 30, 2008 10:05 PM

Do we trust Tek in...

[ Ian ] says:
on April 30, 2008 10:05 PM

No Steph that's the right call.

Catcher did a good job of blocking the plate and Wells made a hell of a throw

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 30, 2008 10:05 PM

Did Hale wave Jed on?? or did he go on his own? Being a rookie, im sure he wouldnt have gone on his own. but u never know..

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 30, 2008 10:06 PM

I did, too...I thought we had it for a second there. (has this mental image of Jacoby very visibly facepalming)

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 30, 2008 10:06 PM

there we fuckin go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[ Ian ] says:
on April 30, 2008 10:06 PM

Well that works

[ blood and whiskey ] says:
on April 30, 2008 10:06 PM

TEK!!!!

[ Ian ] says:
on April 30, 2008 10:07 PM

If you can't do it the first time, try it again

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 30, 2008 10:07 PM

See, my reasoning for holding him would've been that we could still score on a sacrifice...we can't score on an out anymore now. But with that situation, it did make sense to send him...

Eh, there we go. No problems there.

[ kristina ] says:
on April 30, 2008 10:07 PM

in TEEEEEEEK we do trust!!!!

[ fc ] says:
on April 30, 2008 10:07 PM

[ starr4 ] says:

[ Lindsay ] says:

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 30, 2008 10:08 PM

I was back to washing dishes but that sure sounded SWEET! Yeah Tek! And nice running, Manny!

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 30, 2008 10:08 PM

I had this mental image of Jed going to slide and just crashing into the catcher and getting knocked several feet backwards, actually. I know that's not what happened, but my mind does weird things with that kid...

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 30, 2008 10:08 PM

damn-- i wore my youk shirt to school today in honor of his walk off single last night- but i dont have a Tek shirt =(

[ Ian ] says:
