I'm finally here for a game! Yaaaay! Hello, everyone!

Also, does anyone besides me think Clay should stand on the mound tonight and perform Don't Fear the Reaper on his guitar?

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 26, 2008 6:59 PM

Hey howdy...

Steph, how was your birthday?

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:00 PM

It was fun except for the whole losing thing. My family was out here! I hadn't seen them in a month or so, so it was really nice...(Thanks for asking!)

I heard Tito put Jed in the game, though. Thanks, Tito!

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:01 PM

Am i the only 1 that hates that olympia sports commercial? the 1 where the lil boy says "uh oh" when he spits into the hat?

And cowbell night? grr, i already have a headache-- and im pretty sure thats not gonna help =/

[ Danielle ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:03 PM

Hey everyone!

Can't wait to finally be able to see the game tonight!!
Happy belated birthday Steph!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:03 PM

Yeah, losing last night was not fun. I'm glad you enjoyed your family, though.

Cowbells -- not fun either. I hope I can hear the play by play over the noise. And I hope our poor sick guys with their stuffed-up heads don't get headaches from it.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:03 PM

Also, I'm watching Mikey Lowell in Pawtucket, and he's looking pretty good so far tonight. He's batting in the three-hole!

(The game is tied 1-1 in the bottom of the third.)

[ Ian ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:04 PM

I'll be here tonight so just buzz me if you need me. I'm doing some serious multitasking tonight with the NFL Draft, the Boston Celtics and seeing if any UConn football players get drafted (there is supposed to be 2).

Damn mutlisport multiteam blog I have.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:04 PM

Steph, you're the queen of multitasking!

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:04 PM

how r u watching the game? is it on tv? or r u watching it online?

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:05 PM

Ian and I cross-posted, so let it be known that he is tied with one of my male cousins for the King of Multitasking!

[ Liza ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:05 PM

I love Edwin Jackson. I'm really excited for this game. :D

And I'm scorekeeping, too. I finally went out and bought an actual score pad thing so I don't have to do it digitally like this any more. (That one was one of the exhibition games in Japan... I sort of invented my own scoring method on account of it being 6 AM or whatever.)

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:06 PM

the PawSox game FYI, =)

[ kristina ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:07 PM

hi everyone, looking foward to a better game tonight...not looking foward to cowbells...

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:07 PM

Wow, Liza, that thing is impressive -- I've never tried to score a game so don't know how to decipher some of those symbols.

[ Bethie ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:08 PM

Hi everyone! I'm hoping for a quick game tonight, so that I can watch it all. Have a 4 AM wake up tomorrow. UGH

BTW, happy day late birthday wishes Steph! Glad to hear it was a good day!

Now, let's see if we can win this one and tell those Rays fans what they can really do with all those damn cowbells! lol

[ Liza ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:08 PM

I invented that scoring method :P I couldn't remember how to do it and I didn't want to bother looking it up that early in the morning.

[ Ian ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:08 PM

If you have Microsoft word, this is how Steve from my blog scores games when he does the recaps.

http://soxanddawgs.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/yanks-sox-box-41108.doc

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:09 PM

Yeah, im looking at that-- and i have no clue wat the symbols mean! haha.

[ Meghan ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:09 PM

My scorebook has gone MIA...the last time I saw it was the last game in NY (I just buy a program for home games so I don't have to lug the book to the ballpark). I need to learn about kidneys though, while watching this and the C's game (and following the draft) so I don't really need anything else to do:-P

[ Ian ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:10 PM

Did y'all see my MASH cast photo this morning for the Red Sox. It's on my normal morning Red Sox post.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:11 PM

The PawSox are on Gameday right now at MiLB.com. It's not letting me link to it, though...sorry!

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:11 PM

Bethie - thank you! It was nice, even if all we did was sit in the hotel room and watch TV...

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:11 PM

I've been trying to find this out for a while, but i've had not success--

do any of you know how those people get to catch the foul ground balls an then give them out to the crowd (at fenway)

[ Liza ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:11 PM

I love how fast he is.

[ Ian ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:11 PM

Nothing like extending your hitting streak right out of the gate.

Hint hint to Pleats

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:12 PM

Yeah jacoby! make tito regret not having u in the original lineup!! =P

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:12 PM

Come on PLeats!! woo hoo!

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:12 PM

Hooray, I didn't have to post a picture of him in college to make him do something! Nice, Jacoby!

[ Ian ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:13 PM

Lindsay they work for the Red Sox game day staff. Most of them have been doing it a long time.

A guy I went to college with does it. It's a matter of knowing someone.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:13 PM

Pleats! grrr...

[ Meghan ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:13 PM

Boo to the DP.

[ Ian ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:13 PM

Well we just saw Pleats doesn't have the speed of Ellsbury

[ starr4 ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:13 PM

hi there.
Glad Tek is back stopping tonight. So far so good tonight.
Last night was a disappointment.

[ Lyndsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:13 PM

you know what's hiiarious? he runs at olympic speeds down to 1st, and he's not even out of breath....if that were me, I'd be bent over coughing....and that's probably why I'm not a professional baseball player. that, and the inability to connect bat with ball.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:13 PM

Damn cowbells!

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:14 PM

(needs to get more ASU pictures up...) FAIL, Dustin.

[ Danielle ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:14 PM

Meghan- you sound like me I have my finals Monday and have all that to cover though I moved past kidneys and am going over musculoskeletal.
Ian - loved the pic, my mother loved it to she love'd MASH

[ kristina ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:14 PM

grrrr cowbells, but i love that remy has one!

[ Ian ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:14 PM

Oh geez, they gave RemDawg a cowbell. Shoot me now

[ Liza ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:14 PM

Steph - Did you see the pictures I posted earlier from GettyImages?

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:14 PM

Ian, now THAT scorecard I can read! I did see your MASH photo, LOL, poor guys.

Bethie, that's right, you're heading West tomorrow, correct? Hopefully it will be a COOL night for sleeping for you. Even here it was hot enough today that I had to open the windows -- first time this year!

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:14 PM

haha, great play!! lol

[ Ian ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:15 PM

That might be the strangest infield single you'll see all year

[ Lyndsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:15 PM

I'm paranoid about getting the flu now just WATCHING these games.

[ Bethie ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:15 PM

Okay that was weird. How many people do they want to cover 1st base?? lol

[ Liza ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:15 PM

Wow, that was strange.

[ starr4 ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:15 PM

Ya think?
Love when baseball delivers.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:16 PM

I was reading the comments on that entry, too! That site was where I got most of my OSU photos I have of Jacoby...

I was hoping they'd have OSU vs. Stanford circa 2005 or so, but they only had those two colleges playing basketball against each other. It made me sad.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:16 PM

Ian, so a random person cant like try to get that job? =(

that sucks, i wish i knew someone! Or i would like to be batboy (or batgirl...lol) i would be their friggin slave! i would do whatever they wanted me to do! lol.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:16 PM

C'mon Manny...raise that BA a little higher...

[ Liza ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:16 PM

Fugging cowbells. And we're not even 1/18 of the way through the game.

[ Bethie ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:16 PM

ecl- Yep, heading to Vegas in the mornin'. We leave at 8:25, and I know I'll have to get up early just to get everything ready, even though I know I'll manage to forget something. Did you guys get killer storms earlier today? We are having a hell of a storm right now.

[ Lyndsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:17 PM

cowbells....white surrender towels....teams with real fanbases don't need no stinking accessories! ever notice that?

[ Erin ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:17 PM

These cowbells are pissing me off already.

[ Meghan ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:17 PM

There was some game last year (or maybe even '06) that Youk was playing third, and he missed two plays because the bat broke and flew right at him both times....really odd to see it happen like that twice in the same game.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:17 PM

It looks like Pennsylvania is about to get positively drenched. We also got poured on last night - this morning it looked like we were in Oregon when we woke up.

Much to my dismay, I was not actually in Oregon. Waaah.

[ Liza ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:17 PM

Uh, never mind. 1/18 of the way.

Bethie - It's gorgeous here. Practically cloudless. :)

[ Ian ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:19 PM

It's cold here in CT, 53 degrees LOL.

[ Bethie ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:20 PM

The only accessory I need at the ball park is beer. :)

[ Ian ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:21 PM

In that picture I made Josh Beckett Colonel Potter since his nickname is Commander Kickass. And Tek got the role of Alan Alda as the Captain. After that it was randomized.

[ Liza ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:21 PM

BucKolz

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:21 PM

Bethie, there were storms enough for a "severe" warning in one of the mountain counties, but all I heard here was big rumbles, enough to turn off my computer for awhile.

[ jules ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:21 PM

Hi All!

:: waves ::

BuKhholz!

[ Lindsay ] says:

Ian, so a random person cant like try to get that job?

[ kristina ] says:

is it me or is clays necklace collection getting bigger....nike K though

[ Bethie ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:22 PM

Yikes. Power went out for a minute there.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:23 PM

Bases loaded with one out for Victor Martinez in the bottom of the ninth in Cleveland...

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:23 PM

2 quick outs! you can tell tek's back!

[ Liza ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:23 PM

Steph - The score's still tied...?

[ jules ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:24 PM

Did Remy just say that Tek's mom says he still doesn't look well? lol.

I'm glad he's back.

[ Ian ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:24 PM

Probably not during the season Lindsay. You would have to send in an application like in January or February or find out when they are holding their game day job fair.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:24 PM

CLEVELAND WINS! YAY!

I love it when the Yankees lose and I get to see it.

[ Liza ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:24 PM

Steph - WOO! What happened?

[ jules ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:25 PM

Cleveland scored one in the bottom of the 9th.

Excellent.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:25 PM

The bases were loaded and Victor Martinez knocked a base hit to left field. NICE.

[ jules ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:26 PM

Hey, 18...happy belated birthday!

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:26 PM

K, thanks Ian! I'll definately keep that in mind.

Also, have any of you ever gone to spring training?

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:27 PM

jules - thank you! It was fun except for all the losing business...

[ starr4 ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:27 PM

GO Stickbug.
I agree with Tek's mom. He's not looking 100% but Tek at 75% is still better than most. Maybe not Salty but still...:)

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:28 PM

Bethie, the Charlotte radar animated loop looks a bit nasty right now.

[ jules ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:28 PM

That was an agonizing game.

I can't believe all the empty seats--and great seats!

LOL...Remy.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:28 PM

Come on Clay!! 1 more out!!

[ Jennifer ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:29 PM

-stares at Gameday- Come on Clay....

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:29 PM

Damn, thats the 2nd time clay almost threw the ball awy at 1st!

[ Ian ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:30 PM

Texy goes every year Lindsay. I haven't been to spring training since I went to school in Florida.

[ Jennifer ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:30 PM

Everything, it seems, is sort of floating upwards...even his pick-off throws.

[ Meghan ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:30 PM

Good AB by Pena, gotta give him that.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:30 PM

out, out, walk, walk...grrr

[ Liza ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:31 PM

He's overthrowing again. That one was nice, though.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:31 PM

Clay, settle down. It's Tampa Bay. There's nothing to worry about (except maybe Evan Longoria, because he's probably desperate).

[ Danielle ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:31 PM

Lindsay - I went for the first time this spring. I went to the last Sox-Rays game. It was so much fun. I ended in the last upper section in right field. The people who sat around me were so nice. I'm already trying to book a week of time share for my spring break next year because it's an easy drive from Orlando. I would definitely recommend it.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:32 PM

Really Ian? wow, i want to try and go in 09' but i probably cant get any of my friends to go with me cus they dont know how to save money...lol

[ Liza ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:32 PM

BuKKolz

[ Jennifer ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:32 PM

Once he settles down, he'll be fine. He needs to find his comfort zone on the road.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:32 PM

Nice, Clayboy, nice!

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:33 PM

Danielle- Yeah, and i'm told that games are pretty cheap. how much did u pay? did u get any autographs? do u live in Boston?

[ Jennifer ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:33 PM

Ah.....good. And his pitch count didn't get too high. It was up to like, 20 in the first inning when he last pitched.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:33 PM

Danielle- Yeah, and i'm told that games are pretty cheap. how much did u pay? did u get any autographs? do u live in Boston?

[ choco ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:34 PM

Yeah I think my family and I are going to take a vacation down there next year... and visit my brother and other friends down there too. Should be really fun :)

[ Erin ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:34 PM

Sorry about that everyone I was eating my dinner. Great K by Clay.

[ Meghan ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:34 PM

I used to go to individual games during Spring Training when I lived in Tampa....never stayed in Ft. Myers though.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:34 PM

Yeah, aside from the 2 walks- he did pretty good. he'll find him comfort zone soon..i hope.

[ Ian ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:35 PM

I went to school where the Tigers train so we went to a lot of games plus back then the Red Sox trained in Winter Haven which was a hop skip and jump from Lakeland.

[ Danielle ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:35 PM

I paid like $23 for the ticket. I got Joe Thurston's autograph. Chris Carter threw the ball back to me without signing it. I prolly could have gotten a few more but didn't move down to the end of the dugout. I used to live in Boston but I'm in Orlando now for college.

[ Jennifer ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:35 PM

It was a very nice K. I'm so happy.

[ Ian ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:35 PM

Plus we hung out with all the guys at night at the bars

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:35 PM

Youk doing what he does best right there...

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:37 PM

I wish I had friends or family members who enjoyed baseball (other than my NYY fan cousins, LOL). Wouldn't be too much fun to go to ST all by myself, not that I have the $$$ to do so, of course.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:37 PM

Ohh, i see. Yeah, i'm in Boston...so i would need to fly down. but i figure that it'll be fun and worth the money. I just wish that i had friends that would be willing to go. none of them really work, and none of them would follow through if they did decide that they wanted to go. =(

[ Bethie ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:39 PM

Sigh....

I'm so happy we have Tek back.

[ Jennifer ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:39 PM

I've gone to Fort Myers for the past two years. ALways an amazing experience.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:39 PM

Tek definately still looks sick, no doubt abt that.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:40 PM

(watches the thunderstorm outside through her window) We are absolutely getting hammered here. I hope it's all foggy tomorrow like it was this morning...

Poor Tek. I really hope he recovers fully soon...we need his mind behind the plate. He's a brilliant strategist.

[ Meghan ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:40 PM

ecl- I think it's funner to go alone than with people that don't want to go...I dragged my ex a few times and he just complained and always wanted to leave in the 7th. Not cool!

Ugh, another goddamn DP.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:40 PM

Jennifer- do u live in Boston? did u have to fly to FL? if so, abt how much $ was it?

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:40 PM

(sigh)....

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:40 PM

...FAIL.

(And Jed was up next, too!)

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:41 PM

Pleats!!!!!! I dont believe it, it's Jim Rice!!

[ Ian ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:41 PM

I don't believe it. It's Jim "Fucking" Rice followed by the annoying Bob's Discount Furniture ad.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:42 PM

Meghan, one of these days I'll both have the money and accrued "paid time off" to take a vacation all by myself, for myself, instead of going to extended family gatherings and calling it vacation.

Steph, I can just picture the morning fog on that PA farmland. So pretty...

[ Liza ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:42 PM

IDBIIJR.

Ftr, Jackson threw 13 pitches in that inning, but only 5 of them were strikes.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:42 PM

I'd be scared to go to FL by myself..haha

[ Danielle ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:42 PM

Lindsay - I fly back and forth from here to Boston all the time to visit family. I always fly Jetblue because I find good rates with them. It all depends on when you go. But March can be more expensive because of all the colleges' spring breaks.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:43 PM

Oh, i see. Hmm....

[ Jennifer ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:44 PM

I live in Boston, yeah. And it depends on when you get your ticket. It's cheaper depending on how you fly. About $400 round trip.

[ Erin ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:44 PM

For one of my Spring Breaks I would love to go down to FL to see some Spring Training games. It just cost a lot of money to go.

[ Liza ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:44 PM

Very nice, Jed!

[ Danielle ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:44 PM

Ian - since you were talking about the draft, what position do you think the Pats will draft next?

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:44 PM

When I woke up this morning, it was so foggy I could've sworn I was in Seattle! My mind was telling me, "Look, look, you're in Oregon!" at one point.

I wish. I really do.

(is wearing her brand spanking new Stanford hat today, on a Steph-likes--a-certain-person-from-Oregon note!)

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:45 PM

So the WRKO guys are talking about the NYY clubhouse candy ban. WTF is up with that whole thing? Seems so bizarre to tell a bunch of grown men that they can't eat candy.

[ choco ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:46 PM

Does anyone know how many necklaces Buchholz wears? Is it 4, or even more than that?

[ Ian ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:46 PM

I''m thinking a cornerback

[ Danielle ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:46 PM

ecl - They've also requested that at all their road games there not be candy in the visitor clubhouse

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:46 PM

LOL, Steph! I think the prettiest time of year for that morning fog is fall leaf season. It's amazing watching the fog burn off and the oranges and reds and golds become visible.

[ Meghan ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:46 PM

I've flown out of Manchester before on Southwest and gotten $130 round trip:-D

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:47 PM

It gets as foggy as a Seattle, WA or a Portland, OR out here because we're in a valley, by the way. I should explain that. On Thanksgiving break I drove through it for hours - I had to landmark to find my way because I couldn't always see road signs!

[ Erin ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:47 PM

What is up with that NYY candy ban?

[ Danielle ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:47 PM

ian - that's what I figured but thought I'd ask, thanks!

[ Ian ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:47 PM

like meghan said, if you live near Providence or Manchester airport, you can fly Southwest cheap

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:48 PM

Danielle...you're right, I had forgotten that part of it. I just don't get WHY. It's just plain bizarre to me.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:48 PM

STOP LOSING, PAWTUCKET.

It's 3-1 Buffalo in the fifth.

Good catch, Dustin. Nice.

[ Danielle ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:49 PM

From what I can tell Girardi seems to be a health nut - not that that's a bad thing

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:49 PM

...ooh! Jed's up! College picture time!

[ Danielle ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:49 PM

But just let Beckett have his ice cream!

[ Meghan ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:50 PM

Also, the commuter rail goes to Providence...Southwest is so much cheaper sometimes that it is well worth the extra pain-in-assness of getting to and from Providence.

[ jules ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:50 PM

an 11 pitch inning. Buchholz is doing well.

[ Erin ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:51 PM

JED!

[ Ian ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:51 PM

8 game hitting streak for JEB

[ Meghan ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:51 PM

18- Since he got a hit that picture must be posted every AB now!:-P

[ ecl1958 ] says:

Yeah, Jed!

[ Bethie ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:51 PM

YAY Jed!!!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:52 PM

Danielle, Girardi looks older than I would expect for his age. I wonder if he used to NOT take care of himself and is overcompensating now.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:53 PM

laughing at the idea of Bobby Abreu, whose nickname, "El Comedulce," means something along the lines of "The Candy Eater," not being able to eat his candy. giggle

[ Danielle ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:53 PM

I wouldn't be surprised if he were trying to overcompensate. but I was listening to some sports talk the other day saying he was in great shape - better than some of his players

Nice run back, Jed!!

[ Liza ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:54 PM

Oregon synergy time?

[ njdevils ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:54 PM

Choco, here's an article story on Clay with a pretty good line about his necklaces:
"And those multiple necklaces Buchholz wears? They're medals awarded for high scores in foosball and Wii Tennis. No one has more."

[ starr4 ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:55 PM

So...this whole flu thing seems to have happened in concert with the ice cream machine removal. Is this a sick out of the return of the machine? Apologies if that's been discussed before.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:55 PM

YES. OREGON SYNERGY TIME. Okay, so he at least advanced Jed to second.

But just...look at them...

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:57 PM

nj, I love the part of that article about how hard it would be to get Manny out of the specially outfitted bullpen car.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:58 PM

Geez, Steph, I don't know which of them is more adorable! :-)

[ choco ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:59 PM

HAhaha, thanks! That's really funny.

And does anybody find this as funny as I do? (about Clay Buchholz): "Buchholz turned down offers to play wide receiver at Texas, Notre Dame, Purdue and Texas A&M" -from the Wikipedia article about Clay

I just can't picture him playing football...

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:59 PM

Definately Jacoby! haha.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 26, 2008 7:59 PM

That was taken when they were drafted together in '05. It's part of a set of three. Here are the other two. (Note Jed spacing out in the background of the one of Jacoby.)

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:00 PM

Well anyone cant write something on Wiki, so it may not be true.

[ Meghan ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:00 PM

Supposedly he is very fast...something you want a WR to be.

Ooh nice curveball.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:01 PM

Ahh, Jacobyy. is it wrong to be extremely jealous of Kelsey Hawkins? (his girlfriend)

[ Erin ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:01 PM

18- Thanks for posting the pictures. They're both so adorable

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:02 PM

Clay did play wide receiver in high school. Here he and Jacoby talk about football. (They got a bunch of prospects in here - Brandon Moss, for one.)

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:02 PM

Erin - not a problem! (The Jed one is the source of my very loserish 'I like Trees' icon on LJ.)

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:02 PM

Lindsay, I guess I can appreciate both -- Jacoby for his exotic good looks, Jed for his endearing smile.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:04 PM

From the football interview:

SoxProspects.com: Complete this sentence: “If [player’s name here] played in the NFL…”
Brandon Moss: He’d be awesome! Just kidding -- I’d be a strong safety.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:05 PM

Yea, Jed definately has a really nice smile. even though theres a gap between his 2 front teeth =P hehe.

CLays doing rly good tonight! now the bats just need to get him some runs!

[ Erin ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:05 PM

Not to sound like a creepy fan girl but I was wondering if Jed had a girlfriend. Anyone know?

[ Meghan ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:05 PM

48 pitches through three...I would LOVE if we can get a quality start from Clay tonight.

[ choco ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:05 PM

"In football there are a lot bigger dudes running at you full speed, while in baseball there are a lot of big dudes throwing at you full speed." -Natale

Hahaha, I like that one. :)

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:06 PM

Nice, Mihashi-kun! (Clay looks lovely.)

I love how dorky Jed looks when he's smiling. Actually, I love that he's a dork in general:

And Erin - I have no idea. But I do know that he's not married...

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:07 PM

Lindsay -- it's called the Papi rule -- a gap between the front teeth does not rule out having a glorious smile.

[ njdevils ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:08 PM

That article I just linked--this one--I just realized why I thought it was so awesome...It was written by Kristen (aka Basegirl).
So, if you get a chance, you might want to read it...

[ Erin ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:08 PM

18- Thanks for the answer. I figured you would know.

[ choco ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:09 PM

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:10 PM

No, i was really saying that Jed has a nice smile. =)

I wasnt making fun of his gap, its cute.

[ Ian ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:11 PM

It was so much nicer when Edwin Jackson sucked

[ choco ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:13 PM

I hate this commercial with the flea (or whatever bug that is) says 'wow'.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:13 PM

Awww, Lindsay, it's so hard to get intent across on line! I wasn't saying that you were making fun of it. I think it's cute too.

[ Liza ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:14 PM

No no-no tonight.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:15 PM

Damnit, Jed, you messed up Clay's no-hitter! Okay, I don't think anyone would've gotten to that, so I can't criticize him for it.

(But see, I don't look at him through rose-colored glasses!)

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:16 PM

I have a question. kind of an opinion question--

yesterday when we were talking abt "pink hats" someone said that they dont like them because some of them dont think of the sox as baseball players, but as NSYNC. Does that mean that if someone has a "celebrity crush" on one of the Sox, that they are less of a sox fan than if they didnt?

[ starr4 ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:17 PM

Well, Steph, one of the lenses may be rose colored. It's all good. Jed's having a fine time in the bigs.

[ Liza ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:17 PM

Who doesn't have at least one "baseball crush"?

[ Danielle ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:17 PM

Poor Youk the Rays broadcasters were ripping him for being mad at the strikeout call - "can someone get him some cheese for his whine"

[ Meghan ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:18 PM

Yikes, that was lucky.

[ Liza ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:18 PM

I thought that one was gone for sure...

BAM. Wow.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:18 PM

haha pena!! lmaoo. foul ball! try again...lol

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:19 PM

I...dunno. I mean, I don't usually fall for players (with one INCREDIBLY notable and obvious exception, which happened when he was still in the Minors, so does it still count?), but I doubt it makes you less of a fan - as long as you can talk knowledgeably about the team, you should be fine.

YAY FOUL BALLS.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:19 PM

Liza, I concur! Lindsay, I think that baseball crushes are not a problem (if so, I would be oh so guilty) -- the problem is when that's the only reason someone watches the game.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:20 PM

This is definatley random-- but whats your favorite Red Sox item that u own?

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:21 PM

Yeah, love the game first and foremost. That's the meat and potatoes. The crushes are the dessert.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:21 PM

Yeah, because i have a MAJOR crush on Jacoby..haha

And i will admit, that i look forward to seeing him play, and i love to look at him when he is playing! lol. but thats not the only reason that i watch. i've watched baseball since before he came onto the team. i love baseball, but i will admit- that having him on the team does make me enjoy baseball even more ;) hehe.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:21 PM

Favorite item I own? Probably the Carlton Fisk signed ball my parents got for me...they went and met him at a convention!

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:22 PM

Ian - it was so much nicer when the Rays sucked.
/fixed

[ starr4 ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:22 PM

Totally, 100 percent support, endorse and recommend baseball boyfriends, more so if you're knowledgeable about the game!!!!

[ Liza ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:23 PM

I have a hopeless crush on Jacoby. It's really, really sad.

I also really like Justin Masterson... and Huston Street, too, for that matter.

[ Ian ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:23 PM

Well look who decided to join us tonight

[ Meghan ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:23 PM

I had 81 Red Sox "items" that were my favorite three weeks ago. Now I have 68 of them left.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:23 PM

If we're still talking player crushes...I don't think I need to discuss mine.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:23 PM

I haven't been a Sox fan long enough to own much...I'd say my Ramirez name/number shirt is my favorite item at this point.

[ Erin ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:23 PM

Lindsay- I went to Build a Bear and made a Red Sox bear.

[ starr4 ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:24 PM

Mr. Street....yummy.

Nice job, Jed!!

[ Ian ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:24 PM

I just ordered some General Tso's.. YUM YUM

[ Danielle ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:24 PM

Lindsay this wasn't my fave but I did love my red sox sticker I had on my car until it got taken off my car one day at school (without taking my patriot's one). it's tough in orlando where there's a heavy sprinkling of yankees fans.
I'd have to say my Beckett shirt and my ticket from ST since it was my first Red Sox game - I know crazy that I've only been to Fenway for a Jimmy Buffet concert!

[ Liza ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:25 PM

I had the world's most delicious quiche earlier... ricotta and sun-dried tomato = YUM.

I like my ball signed by 11 prospects, thanks very much. :)

The 12th prospect's signature (Clay's) went on a poster.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:25 PM

Jed and Evan played against each other out in Arizona last fall - that was my first good look at Evan. And he seriously impressed me.

But I'd rather see Jed throwing him out any day.

Awww, Hinske!

[ njdevils ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:25 PM

That's a hard question, Lindsay.
Well, if you took away all of my Red Sox shirts, I would only have about two things left to wear, so I guess they're pretty important.
And I don't go anywhere without wearing a Sox hat.

I don't know if they're favorites, but I have a bunch of Josh Beckett Wheaties boxes scattered randomly around my room.
So, I don't really know how to answer your question...I have a whole ton of Sox stuff, and would probably die without all of it...

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:26 PM

Ian, you're making me hungry! I'm not in the mood to cook tonight -- I think it's canned soup time. Not my favorite, but I need to put something in the tummy.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:26 PM

Yeah, my crush on Jacoby is also pretty pathetic..haha

i cant really say that i have 1 fav. sox item. I have a few. My bedroom is all Sox, so i have a lot to choose from..lol

but i'd have ti say that i love my dustin pedroia autographed mini helmet that my dad got for me. he also got me and autographed Mike Lowell picture where he also wrote "Ws MVP 07'" and then my dad just recently got me an austographed Youk picture. And they are all authentic, and i love them all. So i cant really choose 1.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:26 PM

Meghan, is there some sort of inside joke about the aforementioned items?

[ Ian ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:27 PM

Can they speed the damn NFL Draft up? This shit takes forevah

[ Meghan ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:27 PM

[ 1863_project ] says:

[ ecl1958 ] says:

[ Ian ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:28 PM

So Steph you're going to live blog 53 rounds of the MLB draft

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:29 PM

Erin- i have a red sox build a bear too! and its so cute because i have a little 07 WS trophy paper weight, and i have it sitting next to him on a shelf! haha.

[ Meghan ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:29 PM

Lindsey- No joke...just count the total number of home games they have this year, and then subtract the number of home games they've already played. You can probably guess what the items are:-P

[ Ian ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:29 PM

Next time I see Bob at a UConn sporting event, I'm going to punch him.

[ Liza ] says:

I will figure out where everyone goes, though - I'll get that information. The Pac-10 is one of my priorities...

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:35 PM

Lisa, you're making me hungry! I'm trying to finish washing all my dishes before I heat something up. (faints from hunger)

[ Ian ] says:

I can hear those stupid cowbells. Man, what a dumb idea...

[ Meghan ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:36 PM

Sorta...not true season tickets, since they are all different seats and I had to buy most of them separately. But they are tickets for each game of the season haha.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:36 PM

Lindsay, that mole is oh so cute! See...I notice these things even when I don't have a crush on a particular player.

[ Liza ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:37 PM

Oh, Steph... -shakes head- Look who's up! :)

I... um. I like Jacoby. A lot. But I've liked him since he was in Portland, so I'm not a bandwagon fangirl! I'm just a... pathetic fangirl. >.>

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:37 PM

Meghan, you are SO lucky. I've never even been to a MLB game, let alone every game in a season!

[ ecl1958 ] says:

C'mon Jed...

[ Ian ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:38 PM

↑ wants to be Meghan's new best friend. LOL.

That's just as good as season tickets

[ Liza ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:38 PM

I have a mole on the same spot on my face as Jacoby's. I'm not even joking. It's strange, granted, but I'm totally serious.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:38 PM

Wow meaghan! how much did that cost you? Did you buy them off of ebay? or when the tickets first went on sale? do u go by urself? or u have a friend that goes with u?

[ Ian ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:39 PM

Former Sox pitcher Lenny DiNardo got sent down by the A's today.

[ 1863_project ] says:

The radio just described Jed as being "poised on the field." That made me giggle hysterically for some reason.

[ Liza ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:40 PM

FUGGING COWBELLS.

But YEAH COCO!

[ Ian ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:40 PM

Meghan what Lindsay is really asking is this.

If you need anyone to go with you, she's volunteering.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:40 PM

alright coco!! woo hoo!!

[ Ian ] says:

Who said Coco needs to be traded? Oh yeah I did.

[ 1863_project ] says:

HOLY SHIT. Great baserunning there! Yay Coco!

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:41 PM

im not volunteering! lmao. i know it sounds like that- but im not..i dont even know her! haha. im just trying to gbet ideas for next season.

[ Liza ] says:

Aww. I like DiNardo.

Meghan, I'm volunteering too! :)

[ 1863_project ] says:

NO FUCKING DP HERE LUGO YOU PIECE OF CRAP.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:42 PM

Ah, Steph, you heard that too about him being poised. Now they're talking about the pitcher NOT being poised.

Okay, guys, let's really get something started now...

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:42 PM

i was there for jacoby big night! i bet his girlfriend wasnt! but i was! haha.

[ Texas Gal ] says:

Houston Aeros hockey games
Mississippi State football games

It was similarly annoying each time.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:43 PM

we all know its gonna be a DP =(

[ njdevils ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:43 PM

How in the world is already $25 on eBay?

[ Liza ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:43 PM

C'mon, Lugie...

[ choco ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:43 PM

YAY Coco!! I need to just say that 10 is one of my favorite numbers ever. It's so even and stuff.

Yeah, Liza- I've followed Jacoby since Portland, too! The first time I saw him was in Pawtucket, though. But I didn't see his MLB debut because I was actually at the Paw Sox game, but they gave updates on what he was doing on the screen and stuff... I was a little bummed he wasn't there, AND George only came out in the last inning, but I do like all those players there anyways and it's great being there.

[ Texas Gal ] says:

Don't DP, E6. DON'T.

[ ecl1958 ] says:

I just now really heard the cowbells for the first time.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:44 PM

Oh, Choco, that reminded me! I just got some Minor League cards, and one of them was George!

[ Liza ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:44 PM

NJ - Wow...

Lindsay - I was going to go... except I was in NY. My dad and brother were there, though.

[ Ian ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:44 PM

Cowbells are ok at hockey games IMHO

[ Meghan ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:44 PM

I bought a lot from the two sales the Red Sox had (bought a lot of single seats then, mostly over the phone) and then for the Yankees ones I used Craigslist. I go by myself frequently, but I go with other people about once each home series. I have yet to find anyone else in Boston that would go to all of the games haha.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:45 PM

Here he is!

[ Ian ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:45 PM

YOU FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT LUGO>. I HOPE YOU GET TOSSED.

/bitter rant

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:45 PM

Lugo, watch ottt

[ Liza ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:45 PM

Tito, you get right in there. Good.

Haha, DeMarlo's gone to comfort Lugo.

[ Bethie ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:46 PM

Night everyone! Got a storm with hail headed this way so I guess fun time on the net is over! You guys send Beckett good vibes for me tomorrow since my ass will be on an airplane!

Night! GO SOX!!!

[ Ian ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:46 PM

We have no backup infielders and he's arguing a strike call. DUMB FUCKING AHOLE>

/still ranting

[ Liza ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:46 PM

If Lugo gets tossed, do they move Lowrie to short, Youk to third, and put Moss in at first?

[ kristina ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:46 PM

well at least it wasn't a DP

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:46 PM

Well, at least he didn't GIDP.

Now c'mon, Jacoby...

[ Liza ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:47 PM

YES!! I LOVE HOW FAST HE IS.

[ Danielle ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:47 PM

Thanks Ian I realized that after I posted it! Oh well
Question- is Moss officially activated for this game

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:47 PM

[ Ian ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:47 PM

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:47 PM

That's my guess, too. That's why Sunbeam's here.

OREGON SYNERGY. C'MON.

[ Liza ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:47 PM

Danielle - Yep.

Bethie - Have fun!

[ ecl1958 ] says:

[ Ian ] says:

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:47 PM

YES! Oregon Synergy for the win!

[ kristina ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:47 PM

nice Taco!

[ Meghan ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:47 PM

Aw, if the bench wasn't so depleted right now, I'd want Lugo to argue and throw his helmet at the ump so he could get suspended for a few games and help us out.

Yay Ellsbury!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:48 PM

Bethie -- have a great trip (in case you check back in).

[ Ian ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:48 PM

I AGREE MEGHAN. but he needs to be smart and be a TEAM player not a piece of shit.

[ Danielle ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:48 PM

thanks!

[ choco ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:48 PM

Wow.... I need to get me some!!

George is cool. And how hot is it that he speaks Greek?

[ Ian ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:49 PM

If you can't tell, I'm not Lugo's biggest fan

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:49 PM

The company that made the ones I own is called TriStar. I am totally buying more as soon as possible. (No, I'm totally not trying to get Jed Lowrie...why do you ask?)

[ Ian ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:50 PM

Speaking of Jeb Steph, what did you send him for his birthday.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:50 PM

Yeah, we need Cora to get healthy again, so he can take Lugos place in a couple of games. or once Mikey gets better, Jed will take Lugos place for a few games.

[ Ian ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:50 PM

Celtics down 32-26 at the end of the first and the Patriots took a cornerback with their 2nd pick

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:51 PM

Steph -- late post on this, but if that pic is accurate, Kottaras is very good looking...

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:51 PM

And Tito didnt have Ellsbury in the original lineup....but since ortiz was scratched, they put Cobes in.

its funny though-- Jacoby and Coco are competing for center field, but working together to get runs...lol

[ Liza ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:51 PM

Choco - VERY HOT. I love Greece--I went there last summer. I wonder what part he's from? (If it's Crete, I'll love him forever.)

Yeah Pleats!

[ Danielle ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:51 PM

Thanks for the update Ian.
I'm hoping the Celtics follow San Antonio with the series not like everyother game 3.

[ choco ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:51 PM

Did you just get them at WalMart or something?

If I happen to get Jed, I'll (somehow) give it to you. And if I ever happen to meet him at an ice cream shop or something, I'll have him like sign something for you or I'll make a video shoutout from him to you... HOW COOL WOULD THAT BE?!

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:52 PM

Lemme get a better one of George up...I have a few nice ones.

[ Ian ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:52 PM

Better not bend over in front of Kottaras.

/obvious Greek joke

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:52 PM

...if you did that, I'd probably die of happiness. Seriously.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:53 PM

Remy noticed all of clays neckalces too...haha

[ Liza ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:53 PM

That was really quick. GOOD.

Ian - Too bad he's a catcher.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:53 PM

[ Erin ] says:

[ Danielle ] says:

[ 1863_project ] says:

[ kristina ] says:

[ Ian ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:55 PM

That's why he squats. he's a smart Greek.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:55 PM

Danielle - You will? Awww, thank you! I don't blame you with finals, either - mine are coming up a week from Monday, and I'm not very excited about that...

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:55 PM

Damnn, clay only allowed 1 hit!! ...so far

[ Danielle ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:56 PM

In case y'all wanted to know the TB Rays care and don't smoke- apparently they're trying to for a tobacco free florida.

[ Erin ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:56 PM

Did someone mention that George speaks Greek? Or was I seeing things?

[ Liza ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:56 PM

I love him. Not in a baseball crush way, but an "Omigod he is so awesome" way.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:57 PM

I need Manny to hit 3 homerunes before Thurs! because im going to the game on thurs and that would be awesome if he hit his 500th at the game. =)

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:57 PM

George's parents are from Greece, and he's fluent. He actually grew up in Canada, but he got to play for the Greek national team and he was a sort of interpreter for them during the Olympics in Athens.

[ Ian ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:57 PM

YEAH MY CHINESE FOOD IS HERE

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:57 PM

Damn...this games kinda boring =/ lol.

[ Liza ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:57 PM

Danielle - Where'd you see that? That's cool of them.

Erin - Yes, he does. :D

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:58 PM

I don't think a defensively awesome game means it is boring.

[ Meghan ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:58 PM

Not digging the Pats' second pick...lots of wrist problems apparently. But they know what they are doing. I do think Mayo will be great with them. And they've got three 3rd rounders so yeah...

[ choco ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:58 PM

I first loved him in an "he's so awesome" way (my seats were so far away I couldn't even see him anyways)... but I have further realized he's super cute, too. :)

Yeah, I read in an interview he's 100% Greek, his parents have a house there, and he can understand/speak it pretty well.

[ Ian ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:58 PM

I'm such a single guy. Just got out my stash of plastic silverware so I dont have to do dishes.

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:59 PM

Plastic sporks rule!

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:59 PM

I do that, too! Of course, I'm a college student without a kitchen, so...yeah.

[ Liza ] says:
on April 26, 2008 8:59 PM

I want Manny to hit his 500th on May 9. If he does, I'll get a free copy of Jere's book.

[ Danielle ] says:
on April 26, 2008 9:00 PM

Liza- Im watching the Rays broadcast since Im in Orlando. It's one of their commercials that comes on as often as the Sullivan tire commercials

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 26, 2008 9:00 PM

Manny homering on May 9th would be a nice "Hey, Steph finished her exams!" present. That's the day I'm done and go home!

[ Ian ] says:
on April 26, 2008 9:00 PM

I could use a spork right now or is that a fork :D

[ choco ] says:
on April 26, 2008 9:00 PM

Yeah, I like pretty close games. I think they're more exciting... I mean I love our big innings where we have like 5 runs score or something, but I like really close games...

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 9:01 PM

Well the pitching is doing good, but not many runs. but is a close game which makes it interesting.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 9:01 PM

Oh just throw him out!!

[ Liza ] says:
on April 26, 2008 9:02 PM

Iwamura is pissed...

BuKKKKKolz, though

[ Lindsay ] says:
on April 26, 2008 9:02 PM

Either way, it was a good pitch. =P

[ 1863_project ] says:
on April 26, 2008 9:02 PM

The next person to argue on either side is out of this game.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 26, 2008 9:03 PM

That's quite awesome about Kottaras and his Greek heritage.

[ Liza ] says:
on April 26, 2008 9:04 PM

Cannon/rocket launcher strikes again...

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on April 26, 2008 9:04 PM

Steph -- your semester is almost over! I've been out of college so long that I forget how early school gets out.

[ njdevils ] says:
on April 26, 2008 9:05 PM

[ Meghan ] says:
on April 26, 2008 9:05 PM

87 pitches through six! Yes! Please keep it up Clay.

[ Erin ] says:
on April 26, 2008 9:05 PM

[ ecl1958 ] says:
