Sometimes when your teammate makes a great game-ending catch in the outfield, snatching away the ball from a group of douche-y looking Indians fans, you just want to give him a big ol' noogie.
Also-- I think it should be pretty clear to everyone that if you are a FAN of the INDIANS and you see an actual NATIVE AMERICAN come charging at you and you're basically competing to catch a ball... WALK AWAY. Say what they will, that individual will HURT YOU.
And then reconsider Chief Wahoo, because for real, folks, that's just tacky.
These are the things I miss with the radio...wow. That was kind of amazing.
I need to move to a place with NESN as soon as college is over and done with. I mean, the huge grin on Dustin's face just cracked me up, and...they both just looked like they were enjoying themselves so much. It was great.
(Also, I agree with the above comment on the mascot - I can't stand that thing.)
mhcranberry I was going to say last night...that I love the irony of real Indians playing against fake Indians (well...since half the Cleveland team is Venezuelan and therefore probably partially native Mayan or Incan, I guess it would be real Indians playing as Indian stereotypes? now I have myself all confused). and winning. and then Jacoby walking away with the ball with the look that just said "yeah, I know I'm the rookie of the year already - eat it, Wisteria Lane!"
and yes, the noogie was totally adorable. I bet Dustin gets them from his teammate all the time - now's his time to give back.
and did you also notice the sox fan in the black t-shirt who was sitting next to that guy who made the face like that was the coolest thing he'd ever seen.
Steph, I'm with you on moving to NESN-land. I'm getting tired of living in the South and starting to consider relocation somewhere down the line. I'd say New England is on the short list. I even have a lifelong dear friend who lives in Boston!
Lyndsay, beyond the Native American and Venezuelan/Mayan/Incan angle vs Chief Wahoo, the rest of the Latin-American players and their Amerindian bloodlines also need to be factored in.
And TG...thank you SO MUCH for posting this. I only got to hear the call last night. Nice to see the catch and noogie sequence for myself.
he's running so fast in this catch it looks like they're fast forwarding the tape
very athletic outfielder, can make catches most can't. it would even be too much to ask others to make the catches he does. some of the still shots they show of his catches are so pretty, he can jump way too high
completely wiling to do anything to make the play, he's very fun to watch

Thanks for making my wish come true, TG!
