Good news on Jacoby from the radio - they said he played catch today and should be back tomorrow...

[ Bethie ] says:
on May 1, 2008 7:06 PM

Hey Everyone!!!

So ready for this game. Havent seen the sox play since last week. I've missed them!

[ Ian ] says:
on May 1, 2008 7:08 PM

I'm just wondering something y'all.

Why can't we be friends?

[ Avery ] says:

Oh shakey wakey. I love you dearly, but no.
Love,
Avery
To everyone else: Hello :)

Nicely done, Dustin!

[ ecl1958 ] says:

Hiya folks. Just walked in the door after a very hectic day at the office. I am SO ready for a good game to help me unwind...

[ Avery ] says:
on May 1, 2008 7:11 PM

Ian, that was an awesome video :)

[ Ian ] says:
on May 1, 2008 7:13 PM

Spanks.

Is it me or does the camera angle from behind look different?

[ Ian ] says:
on May 1, 2008 7:23 PM

Steph they need Jacoby or JD back so Crisp can rest his knee

[ Ian ] says:
on May 1, 2008 7:25 PM

Hughes is out until July for the Yanks with a stress fracture in his rib.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on May 1, 2008 7:25 PM

Definitely. They said Jacoby will probably be in tomorrow - they were talking about him being healthy on the radio - so that should cover Coco. (I don't want to think about having to go to Pawtucket again...)

Also, Phil Hughes is out until at least July, apparently...

[ choco ] says:
on May 1, 2008 7:26 PM

Hey guys!

[ kristina ] says:
on May 1, 2008 7:26 PM

Hi everyone....no paper to write tonight, in fact, no more papers ever! (can you tell i'm excited).....looking foward to a good game!

[ 1863_project ] says:
on May 1, 2008 7:26 PM

...wow, apparently the radio and the TV announced the Phil Hughes bit at exactly the same time.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on May 1, 2008 7:27 PM

Ooh, Kristina - congratulations! My English paper's due date has been changed to Tuesday (he decided to make it the final), but I'm still working on my history one...

[ Ian ] says:
on May 1, 2008 7:28 PM

No Steph they haven't said anything about it during the game. I saw it earlier this afternoon and was just saying it.

That's funny though they said it at the same time on the radio.

[ Ian ] says:
on May 1, 2008 7:29 PM

Abreu just hit a 3-run jack in the 1st

[ 1863_project ] says:
on May 1, 2008 7:30 PM

They did - I was writing that one comment, and when I added the Phil Hughes bit as an afterthought and posted yours came up one comment before mine. Serendipity, I guess...

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on May 1, 2008 7:32 PM

Nice goin' Mikey!

[ kristina ] says:
on May 1, 2008 7:32 PM

yeah thank god, i would celebrate, but finishing the paper at 3:15 am + getting up at 6 am for work = very tired kristina....and on a baseball note, Yeah Mikey!

[ kristina ] says:

[ 1863_project ] says:

Damnit, Jed!

[ 1863_project ] says:
on May 1, 2008 7:36 PM

...I tend to tough-love him a bit. Yeeeaaah.

[ choco ] says:
on May 1, 2008 7:37 PM

Okay, for any of you who score games, I have a question. (I'd ask my dad but he's at work). If the first baseman catches a groundball and throws it to the pitcher who is covering the base, would it be scored as 3-1?

[ Ian ] says:
on May 1, 2008 7:39 PM

Yes choco that is the correct scoring

[ choco ] says:
on May 1, 2008 7:43 PM

Thanks, Ian

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on May 1, 2008 7:56 PM

...or not.

[ choco ] says:
on May 1, 2008 7:56 PM

TG- oh my goodness, I know!! when he was first up to bat he had beads of sweat coming down his face, and he took off his helmet and his head was like glistening.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on May 1, 2008 7:56 PM

Is he totally bald already at his age, or does he just choose to shave it all?

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on May 1, 2008 7:57 PM

Dude- he came up to bat in the 1st, barely any time has gone by for him to work up a sweat, plus it's 50 degrees out, and he's sweating like a stuck pig.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on May 1, 2008 7:58 PM

[ Ian ] says:
on May 1, 2008 7:58 PM

Tigers roared back to take 4-3 lead

[ Piney61 ] says:
on May 1, 2008 7:58 PM

Hey all. I just underwent a 5 hour media blackout(for one of my finals) and I'm kind of out of the loop. Anything happen? Oh and what in the hell is up with the centerfield camera?!

[ 1863_project ] says:
on May 1, 2008 7:59 PM

...or not. Apparently this college obligation is being delayed.

Yay Detroit!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on May 1, 2008 7:59 PM

Piney, how did the media blackout project go? Did you survive?

[ Ian ] says:
on May 1, 2008 7:59 PM

I was wondering the same thing Piney. My only guess would be that htey are doing this for the knuckleball.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:00 PM

College obligation on! (runs to her stupid floor meeting)

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:05 PM

WOW! Did everyone else hear the Mike Nesmith acoustic/country version of "Listen To The Band" playing on the Fenway PA? The PA person has excellent taste in music.

[ kristina ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:05 PM

oh Timmeah...please get out of this

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:06 PM

Oh, and hi, Piney! Welcome back to the land of the living! :)

[ kristina ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:06 PM

oh thank you Manny

[ Ian ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:06 PM

Stop scaring us like that Manny.

IF i knew who Mike Nesmith is I'd say yes.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:06 PM

Yay Manny!

[ 1863_project ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:12 PM

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:12 PM

The guy in the green wool hat:

[ 1863_project ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:12 PM

...oh, so nice to know I'm not the only one here who listens to the Monkees, actually! (has a compilation album on her iPod...)

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:13 PM

AJ Burnett totally copied Josh Beckett's facial hair.

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:14 PM

I heart the Monkees so very much. Mike's solo work kicks ass, but nobody knows it - which is why I was shocked to hear it on the Sox PA.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:16 PM

...crap.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:16 PM

To Aaron Hill's credit, that was really impressive, though...

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:17 PM

DAMMIT!

About the Monkees...they were really big when I was middle school age. AMAZING how young they look in that pic...like little kids!

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:18 PM

My words when Aaron caught that ball: "You have GOT to be shitting me."

[ Ian ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:18 PM

AHHHHH. That splains it. After I made the comment, I thought about it and thought the name was familiar but I'd never have guessed that.

Can someone in Boston please shoot Eckstein.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:19 PM

...I couldn't even hear that last Eckstein play. People are talking loudly in my room. (And it didn't even go well!)

[ Bethie ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:20 PM

I've seen the monkees live in concert. he he.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:20 PM

(does not enjoy having a roommate anymore) Fortunately, I go home for the summer a week from tomorrow...

[ Liza ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:22 PM

Hey everyone! Sorry I'm late.

Wow, that was one confused play...

[ 1863_project ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:22 PM

...what the hell is going on? The radio just...it's so weird. (is trying to picture it in her head and is envisioning various Jays dashing back and forth)

[ choco ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:23 PM

Eckstein is pretty annoying... I call him the hyperhappybunny (yes, it's all one word...) because he's just wicked hyper all the time. Do you see how he scampers off to first base after getting a walk? It's kind of funny, but annoying as well. You know?

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:23 PM

LOL Bethie!

I think I may have had some of their stuff on vinyl once upon a time, but no longer remember.

[ kristina ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:24 PM

ummm, wow, what was that play all about.....boo for scoring another run...ok, now it's our turn

[ 1863_project ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:24 PM

Choco, the anime fan in me just got a really weird mental image of Eckstein as a cabbit...

[ starr4 ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:26 PM

Steph, how were the Romans? and, at least your roomie is awake at 8:25.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:27 PM

The Romans have been postponed until Tuesday - he decided to make the essay the final, so it's not due until then! I'm hangin' with Rabelais right now, though...

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:27 PM

The Monkees were before my time (read: before I was born), but I still heart them anyway.

Alex Cora snuggling Dustin Pedroia? Priceless.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:27 PM

(stops paying attention to anything else) Forget the essay for a minute...

[ Liza ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:28 PM

Hey, look who it is.

For the record, as someone who was on the third base side last night, HE WAS SO SAFE.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:29 PM

THANK YOU, LIZA. I saw video of that...and he looked so fired up and intense after that. His eyes were different. I'd never seen him like that before...

...and in retrospect, I've been drooling over it.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:32 PM

It's called the heat of passion, Steph. ;-)

[ choco ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:33 PM

Steph: hahaha, that's pretty cute. is it supposed to be good or bad? or both? (He'd be balding a little bit though, haha) I don't really know anything about anime. I do have 2 books (I don't even know if they're considered 'anime' or not) of this guy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rurouni_Kenshin

I've hosted 5 different Japanese students during different summers, and one of them gave me those books... I actually still haven't read them though... :(

[ 1863_project ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:34 PM

(is totally not complaining if that's what the heat of passion looks like...) I'm so used to seeing him all lighthearted that it was such a change! But I'd be damned if I said I didn't find it really attractive...

[ 1863_project ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:35 PM

Choco - ooh, you read Kenshin? Yeah, Kenshin's a manga/anime. They're worth reading - they're excellent.

(You've hosted Japanese students? That's so cool! I'm studying Japanese right now in college...it's a fun language, but it's hard sometimes...)

[ Liza ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:37 PM

He totally ducked under it. I couldn't believe the ump called him out.

And that ump WOULD NOT call a strike for the first few innings, for either side, either. Needless to say, Daisuke got a lot of 3-ball counts.

[ Ian ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:38 PM

Liza watch the replay from last night. He was definitely out. Barely out but he was out.

[ Liza ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:39 PM

He sure looked out to me...

-goes to check-

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:39 PM

Well, Steph, not having seen the play or the video, I can't say what he looked like, but intensity can be very, very attractive. Definitely.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:39 PM

The replay's up here. I'm still just so stunned at how pissed off he is...I've never seen him like that ever. EVER.

[ Piney61 ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:43 PM

Aww I missed the Cora and Pedroia snuggling? Damn it all! Also Mike Nesmith FTW! Oh and some runs here would be simply fabulous

[ Liza ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:45 PM

Oh, yeah, he was out. It sure looked to me like he slid around the tag.

[ choco ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:46 PM

I have them, I haven't actually read them yet though. Once I finish school I should read them.

Yeah I've hosted one in the summer of '01, '02, '04, '05, '06 and we're planning on doing it this summer, too. It's really fun. We get to teach them about the American culture and they teach us a little bit about what it's like in Japan. They bring us gifts, and make us a meal and teach us some origami and calligraphy and stuff. It's great... The one in '05 became one of my and my sister's best friends. We still keep in touch with her via email, actually. I keep her informed on Daisuke and Hideki news and stuff. The girl we're hosting this year is having a birthday while she's in MA with us, and we're going to the Sox game that day. =] I'm excited.

RBI RBI.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:48 PM

That's just so fun! I'd love to do that at some point, what with actually knowing some Japanese now...And going to Fenway for her birthday? That'll be so awesome! (is in college, so can't really host anybody directly right now, although her roommate is from Lithuania...)

[ Liza ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:49 PM

Burnett doesn't seem to be locating very well.

/obvious

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:49 PM

TWO BASERUNNERS. C'mon guys - let's make something happen with this.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:49 PM

...okay, Mike, now would be a great time to get started...

[ Jessi ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:49 PM

Hey guys, just turned on the game and am totally not pleased with the score...who made the error?

Yay Manny!

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:50 PM

Cash - throwing error.

[ Liza ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:51 PM

Aw, Mikey. That one was just a few feet short of being off the Monster.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:51 PM

Sunbeam, c'mon, you can do this!

[ 1863_project ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:53 PM

...shoot, they've figured out that Brandon's a fastball hitter. They just destroyed him with the breaking ball...

And on that note, I have to run to a club meeting really quickly - I'll be back soon! (hopes she doesn't miss too much, although she wouldn't mind if the Sox scored...)

[ Liza ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:55 PM

Whoa. Rios, I like you, but not when you do that against our team.

[ Liza ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:57 PM

Yay Sunbeam.

[ Piney61 ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:58 PM

Doesn't seem like it's their night tonight. *shrugs shoulders* Oh well....they did take the series. However, I still got faith. I mean let's keep in mind a couple things here -- there's still time and as long as there's time, there's always a chance. Though, 3 walkoffs in a row would be spoiled.

[ choco ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:58 PM

Yeah I'd definitely recommend it. It's an awesome experience. Especially if you already know some Japanese. I can say a couple things ('thank you', 'you're welcome', 'no thank you' -that one was fun, 'sorry' -I have a clumsy reputation) but the only thing I know how to write is "tomo" (friend, but you probably knew that). It's fun. =]

[ Ian ] says:
on May 1, 2008 8:59 PM

Stealing another Piney line here.

The red Sox can't hit in the clutch.

[ Ian ] says:

And, inevitably...

A-A-R-D-S-M-A!

[ Piney61 ] says:

I have to say that nothing is more amusing than hearing Remy pronounce Aardsma's name.

[ Ian ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:14 PM

Skanks losing 6-4 in the bottom of the 6th and it's pouring in NY right now

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:14 PM

As I don't have a Remy broadcast...how does he say it?

[ Ian ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:15 PM

And apparently it's going to be raining here shortly as well.

The Japanese i have up their says:

Domo arigato, Mr. Roboto

[ Ian ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:15 PM

It's there Ian not their dumbass

[ Liza ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:16 PM

I know how to say one thing in Japanese. "Arigato gosaimas." (At least, that's how it'd be spelled phonetically, I think...)

[ Ian ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:17 PM

I saw this guy Jesse Carlson pitch in high school. He helped his team win the state championship back in 1999.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:18 PM

Ian, the animated radar loop doesn't show the NYC rain heading your way. It's sort of tracking east, it looks like.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:20 PM

(is back)

[ 1863_project ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:21 PM

(is able to read the Japanese) It's so fun, ain't it?

...still losing, though. Grrrr.

[ Ian ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:21 PM

I live 2 hours from Boston. I'm on the shoreline of CT right next to New Haven. And it's definitely coming my way at least according to the weather.com radar

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:24 PM

(slapping forehead!)

That's right, Ian -- I forgot that you're not in Boston. You're correct -- per Intellicast (my favorite looping radar site) it is indeed coming for ya!

[ Liza ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:25 PM

Okay, Lopez. OUTS. Outs are GOOD.

[ Liza ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:26 PM

That was cool. Also, GRITTY Eckstein lost his bat.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:27 PM

(remembers something positive) Hey, Clay graduates from prospect status tomorrow! That means that these two are the top two prospects we have.

Their power grows. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

[ LifelongSoxFan ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:32 PM

very cool

[ choco ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:33 PM

we have great prospects...

MASTERSON! *squeal*

[ Ian ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:34 PM

I should have never posted that video up. I can't get that damn song out of my head.

Let's go Timlin.

[ Liza ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:34 PM

He's graduating?! Aww!

GOOD, Timlin.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:34 PM

Justin's our top prospect as of tomorrow, once Clay starts pitching...!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:34 PM

Steph, I must say, I'm enjoying this Oregon connection stuff, as my sister lives there and is putting pressure on me to visit (can't afford it right now). I think she'd ultimately like both me and our mom to move out there, but I'm such an "east coast lady" (see screen name) that I have a hard time picturing myself doing that. I do want to visit, though. Going by the pics I've seen, it's an awesome place.

[ LifelongSoxFan ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:35 PM

yeah, I've got Reaper in my head still from the cowbells Saturday night

[ LifelongSoxFan ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:36 PM

oh, so THAT'S what ecl stands for!

[ 1863_project ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:36 PM

...I need to go to Oregon. Badly. I mean, I honestly don't think I could live on the West Coast either (there's too much of New Jersey in me!), but I'll definitely go at some point. And maybe go to a Portland Beavers game so that I have a purpose for being there...

[ Ian ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:37 PM

Got a little Rocket in you?

/captain morgan on roids

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:37 PM

Meanwhile, in NY, Abreu just lined out with the bases loaded to retire the side. Score still 6-4 Detroit.

[ Liza ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:39 PM

Steph, are you kidding? You need to get yourself to an OSU vs Stanford baseball game, girl.

[ LifelongSoxFan ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:39 PM

Yanks loaded the bases bottom of 6th....but all gone now...top of the 7th and they're losing 6 - 4

[ Liza ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:39 PM

Holy fug, ninth inning already!? When did that happen!?

C'mon, Manny!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:40 PM

LOL, Lifelong. That originated when I was first posting on an Internet forum. That had to be about 10 years ago. It was a UCLA Bruins basketball forum and everyone else there was from out there...so to distinguish myself, I called myself East Coast Lady, then later shortened it and added my birth year.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:40 PM

...Liza, yes I do. You're so right. Just the thought of being at one of those made me grin so, so stupidly...

[ LifelongSoxFan ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:41 PM

Manny is patient at the plate.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:41 PM

Yeah, I vote for Steph attending OSU-Stanford too. She'd be so blissed out...

[ Liza ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:42 PM

You do. You so do.

Okay, Brandon! C'mon Sunbeam!

[ 1863_project ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:42 PM

And conflicted! I'd be torn!

Stanford's got another kid from Salem, Oregon (Joey August) right now, too, and apparently when he was playing left field in a JV game in high school Jed was on the varsity field and homered and the ball hit him in the leg.

[ LifelongSoxFan ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:42 PM

Ian, is the pizza still good at Pepe's?

[ Ian ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:42 PM

I vote for Steph sending a belated birthday present to Jeb

I'm not a Pepe's fan. I like Modern Pizza better

[ ecl1958 ] says:

Maaannn, looking at his roster pic, Brandon Moss absolutely has that "Southern boy" look about him. I know it well.

[ Liza ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:43 PM

Oh, Ian. You're so persistent.

COCO. COME ON COCO.

[ LifelongSoxFan ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:43 PM

c'mon Brandon! Do something to bring out that goofy grin I love so much!

[ 1863_project ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:44 PM

Good eye, Sunbeam! Okay, let's do this...

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:44 PM

C'mon Coco!

[ Liza ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:44 PM

WHOA. WHAT?

Balk!!

[ 1863_project ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:45 PM

...hold it, what the hell? This's definitely different...

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:45 PM

=/

[ LifelongSoxFan ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:45 PM

I was weaned on that stuff! Had an Aunt & Uncle in New Haven.....made trips often!

[ 1863_project ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:46 PM

Whoa, we've got an ejection here!

so intens

[ Liza ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:46 PM

*Only one exclamation mark. Heh.

Wow, that was a lot of f-bombing.

I don't trust Coco in the clutch...

[ LifelongSoxFan ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:46 PM

:(

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:47 PM

What's this about ejection and f-bombs?

[ Liza ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:48 PM

Steph, lmao.

COCO! OH MAN!

Oh my god. Oh my god. Jed's up now.

He's gotta be angry after yesterday's plate stoppage...

I don't trust Jed in the clutch...

[ 1863_project ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:48 PM

...holy shit, holy shit!

Jed, now would be the time to show everyone how you won the Pac-10 Triple Crown as a sophomore...

[ LifelongSoxFan ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:48 PM

At least it's 8-4 at Yankee stadium now...Detroit winning.

[ Liza ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:49 PM

Ecl, Coco popped out to "end the game" but the ump called a balk and said the game wasn't over, so Moss took second and Coco singled. He's just stolen. (Not sure how far behind you are)

NO

WTF

[ 1863_project ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:49 PM

(is going through severe emotional turmoil)

[ Ian ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:49 PM

OH JEB What are you looking at?

[ 1863_project ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:49 PM

...did we just lose this thing?

[ Liza ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:50 PM

Yep. On a full-count K.

[ choco ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:50 PM

It hurts...

[ Ian ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:50 PM

No stolen base for Coco either. Defensive indifference.

[ 1863_project ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:50 PM

...why do I have to be so damn emotionally attached?

[ Ian ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:51 PM

cuz your stalkerly in love

[ Liza ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:51 PM

That's what I meant. Ugh. Lack of sleep.

Wow, that seemed like a really fast game.

[ LifelongSoxFan ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:51 PM

I thought Gameday was stuck! What the F is right!!

[ 1863_project ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:51 PM

...I really am.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:52 PM

Ummm...not that it made much difference when all was said and done, but NONE of that is on the Gameday visual. And I had turned WRKO off in disgust as soon as Coco popped out. So I missed the whole thing.

[ Ian ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:52 PM

Nothing wrong with that. I'm stalkerly in love with myself. :D

[ LifelongSoxFan ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:52 PM

...nothin' wrong with that...(wink-wink)

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:53 PM

Lifelong, Gameday still is stuck. Weird that they didn't update it.

[ Ian ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:53 PM

How long until heads roll in NY if the Yanks lose again tonight?

[ LifelongSoxFan ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:53 PM

umm...to clarify....I meant nothing wrong to 1863, not Ian....HA!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:54 PM

Yeah, I'm stalkerly in love with some of my baseball boyfriends too.

[ Ian ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:54 PM

We may need a live rooster or chicken for tomorrow night to get the curse off the bats

[ 1863_project ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:55 PM

...I have a tag on my LJ that reads 'I am obsessed with Jed Lowrie.' I've used it nearly seventy times. There's something slightly pathetic here...

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:55 PM

I dunno Ian, whose head will roll in NY? A-Rod on the DL, Posada on the DL, Hughes out for who knows how long...it makes the travails of the Sox look minor. LOL...

[ LifelongSoxFan ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:55 PM

it IS stuck!!

[ Ian ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:55 PM

Hughes is out until July. They are still waiting for like 100 opinions on Posada

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:56 PM

Ian, maybe there could be some sort of "ceremony" like what the guys did to Papi in the dugout to help him get his bat working again.

[ LifelongSoxFan ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:56 PM

nah....think GARLIC!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:57 PM

Yeah, I knew it was July for Hughes. I was just exaggerating...or something like that. Posada, what a mess that is. I remember reading something where he said his shoulder was dead.

[ LifelongSoxFan ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:57 PM

LOL - Gameday still has Coco at bat!

[ Ian ] says:
on May 1, 2008 9:59 PM

Francona just said he thinks both Tacoby and Drew will be back tomorrow night.

[ LifelongSoxFan ] says:
on May 1, 2008 10:01 PM

sounds delicious! I try to pull up a chair...good night, all

[ 1863_project ] says:
on May 1, 2008 10:01 PM

Right, I've got an essay to finish up...see everyone soon!

[ Ian ] says:
on May 1, 2008 10:02 PM

This weekend is the battle for 1st place with the RAYS.

Not too often or ever you can say that sentence.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on May 1, 2008 10:02 PM

Well, Tacoby and Drew, that's a start.

I've switched over to Gameday for DET/NYY so I can keep tabs, at least for a moment. I'm fading fast here.

[ Ian ] says:
on May 1, 2008 10:03 PM

I'm out as well. May the schwartz be with y'all. I'll be back on Sunday unless things change tomorrow. Definitely won't be here Saturday night.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on May 1, 2008 10:05 PM

(checking the schedule)...ah, the Rays again, you're right.

And my first live Sox in three weeks will be Monday against Detroit. I am so, so, SO looking forward to that! A total of 5 TV games in 13 days (drooling)...

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on May 1, 2008 10:06 PM

Okay, then I'm out too. Have fun with whatever you do Saturday.

[ jules ] says:

Hi all...or is it 'night all!

;-)

I missed the game because I was at my daughter's track meet. She won a medal and did great. We're very proud of her.

I scanned the thread--you all must visit the west coast. It's beautiful. Different, but beautiful. I used to live in Oregon and it's gorgeous. I'd consider living in Portland, OR.

I'm sorry we lost the game. Our bats really need to wake up.

Up waiting for LOST--hate the 10pm start time (too cheap, or is it broke after paying for mlb to pony up for tivo ;-)
