jules- I think those names are yellow/gold because the the right they show 2 videos. one video is of the first yellowed guy and the second video is of the second yellowed guy
Jed hasn't played at second regularly since college - I can understand him being rusty. He's also been known primarily for his offense, not his defense.
Liza-- i was just saying (outloud) "Tito calm down, sit down" and my dad was like "who are you talking to?" and i said "tito" and he said "well hes not gonna answer you" lol.
Di, it sucks doesn't it? I'm at least happy that these Detroit guys don't annoy me as bad as the ones on the Tampa station. But I miss Don and Remy....and dugout cameras. lol
Di, I do the same thing. AND the SuperFan thing to get it in HD. I've noticed that since I got the SuperFan, I've been able to see all the games on NESN. That alone is worth the extra $$$.
SuperFan is another way for DirecTV and MLB to suck us dry ;-)
It's an add-on to Extra Innings to get the HD. Directv has the info on their EI page. I didn't want to get it, but we didn't buy this big ol' HD TV to watch grainy baseball ;-)
No one is injured, Clay just had a very ungraceful slip on the soaked field and fell on his ass. It could easily have been an ankle, knee, back etc. injury though.
PS: It's an extra $14/month (the four-month payment plan like the EI). I know, it all adds up, but it makes me happy and it sure is GREAT after crappy days at work to see the Sox and hear Remy & Don.
There are a lot of things we could put the money towards, really. Retirement, etc., (my daughter would say *shopping*), but I love it. I first got EI as a surprise for my husband, a New England native. Now *I* can't live without it.
I've used Macs since '88 and *love* them. I'm spoiled at work with the 30" display--heaven. OS X is different from windows, but it's a sweet, solid system.
LOL, Remy, can't finish reading his copy because of the giggles. LOVE him.
Di, they're inviting everyone to go to Fenway and go for a "walk in the park" for Mother's Day on Sunday--you get to walk around on the warning track and see the bullpens and see the monster and meet old Sox... and it basically sounds like there'll be bazillions of people there.
Lindsay, I disagree. A bandwagon fan only means that they follow the team when they win and don't care about them when they lose. I can't tell you Pedro's 2001 ERA, but that's because I was 8 years old then, not because I'm a bandwagon fan.
And I think if a girl (or boy) only follows a team because she thinks a player is cute, that's bandwagoning. However, I unabashedly find Jacoby gorgeous (because who doesn't?). I also care about the rest of the team.
The falling was probably the only light spot in this thing besides the Youk homer...and as terrible as it sounds, Jed falling cracked me up hysterically. He's a klutz!
Wow -- I think I've set a personal multitasking record. I've got three windows open for things I'm trying to write or read, plus listening to the game and "watching" it on Gameday.
ecl, I think marching band is what makes me good at multi-tasking (I'm listening to the game, watching it on Gameday, writing an LJ post, commenting on LJs, commenting here, and writing an English essay right now).
Ok, so I'm attempting to eat dinner while I'm watching this.
But when I saw Jed good-game Youlk, I legit inhaled a piece of angel hair from my mouth into my nose
Owies.
But it was hilarious anyway.
I love how real Jed seems compared to other superstar athletes - to me, he just seems like a normal guy who happens to be a pro ballplayer. I mean, he's even a bit of a klutz!
I knew Jed was a klutz when he ran into David Mailman and said, "Usually you run the other way when someone's chasing you," to explain it back in Spring Training.

"We had a run down between first and second, Youk threw me the ball and I began to pursue the runner, David Mailman. The only problem was Mailman stopped, I tried to avoid the collision by jumping to the side, but no such thing happened. Neither of us was hurt and I'm now under the belief that it looked much worse than it really was. ... After our workout at least 10 reporters came to my locker to ask about "the Collision". While I was answering questions all I could think was, "It must be a slow news day today.""
there was this clip of Jed just walking and he had this really cute smile on his face and I put it in slow motion and watched him while completely cracking up... my sister thought I was crazy and was like "what is so funny?!?" and I had no idea what was so funny he just looked so funny...
Choco, he's just about the most expressive person ever to play the game. And that makes him hilarious. (I actually crack up whenever he does - which is often!)
anyone checked on Dennis Eckersley? he has the biggest mancrush on Buchholz ever, so I think he might be weeping for the failure tonight - "I feel what he feels!"
YES! way to get TWO bags Jacoby!
he only needs 5 more to break Tim Raines' record now.
Mary, great Oregon picture! You and Steph make me laugh...98%, 75%...it's addictive, isn't it? At least that's what I've heard from my mom, sister, and brother in law.
DAMN Leyland must be a sadist. he's making the AA callups pitch first, last night to Manny Ramirez...and now, to last season's World Series MVP. jesus.
We used a standard Pillsbury cake mix, actually, with chocolate icing and eggs. See, we couldn't buy real beaver at the supermarkets here...they don't carry it in PA. (They might in Oregon or Canada, though!)
how do I download Oregon Trail? I've always wanted to, but havent seen a versions for any computers after the Apple IIE (the good old days of the black screen/green lettering...)
and that Youk-ump exchange was hilarious, especially Remy's reaction - "look at him! He's still yapping down there!"
seriously, I think NESN needs to do a better job wtih audio in these games...I hate hearing these stupid drunk conversations in the stands faintly being miked.
Hey all. I've been kinda in and out of everything due to doing much laundry and other ish due to last day of finals(YAY I'M DONE FOR THE SEMESTER!!!) and also my parents are returning from vacation tonight so my brother and I have been cleaning up the house for our parents. When they get home, I get to watch Top Chef w/ my mom! Huzzah!
Anyways, quite some ballgame eh? Clumsy ballplayers FTW! Coming to a blooper reel near you. Also how about Youk and Mikey? Our corner infielders are pretty much made of fantastic forever.
Oh wait! I forgot about the fake wedding! Of course that! Oh and also going to Fenway once for sure....maybe twice depending on a few things. Any other things I'll be doing is up for interpretation.
I'm totally taking AP Stats my senior year... I have PreCalc next year, Calc in eleventh grade, and then I can choose between AP Calc and AP Stats. Not a hard choice for a baseball fan. :)
of course Red Sox fans are smart lol!
and good call on not taking AP physics next year I have absolutely NO CLUE what I am doing lol.
Calcs tough too but I'm sure you can handle it
I took the language and comp. last year
Here's a little hint:
A: It's REALLY not that hard. If you paid attention, it's not bad.
B: learn what an apostrophe is. not the ' its' something else. We got like 8 questions on them last year and we had NO IDEA what it was.
And have you ever done the Puppet Master with Elijah Wood? "Raise your knee, raise your other knee, raise your foot, raise your other foot, walk in a circle, do the Puppet Master!"

So we're assuming they're starting on time?
