Well, that certainly didn't start off the way we planned it to...

[ SoxPhan ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:01 PM

Ouch. Not good.

[ Liza ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:06 PM

Yeesh. What happened?

[ Karen ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:07 PM

Why is Timlin on the DL? I got the text a little while ago.

[ Danielle ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:08 PM

Karen, he has left knee tendinitis and to make room for Dice K

[ njdevils ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:09 PM

He has tendinitis in his left knee.

[ Danielle ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:09 PM

Dice needs to settle down and find the strike zone

[ Liza ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:10 PM

But how did the (first) two runs score?

Daisuke, DO NOT WANT.

[ Karen ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:10 PM

Thanks. Are the Cardinals this good? Or is Dice-K this bad? Makes you wonder.

[ Karen ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:12 PM

Oh man, this is not good.

[ Danielle ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:12 PM

Its been a month since he's pitched in the bigs and only pitched one minor league rehab game

[ Danielle ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:13 PM

The bullpen is not supposed to warming up already

[ Danielle ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:14 PM

Thank goodness that's over

[ SoxPhan ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:15 PM

C'mon bats!

[ Liza ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:15 PM

GOOD. Ugh. That was not pretty.

[ njdevils ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:16 PM

Liza, it was a two-run homer by Aaron Miles. It was pretty close, though; I thought JD was going to catch it.

[ Liza ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:16 PM

I just saw the replay... yuck. :P

[ njdevils ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:17 PM

Nice, Jacoby!

[ SoxPhan ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:18 PM

YAY! Jacoby!!!!

[ jules ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:18 PM

That was UGLY.

Nice hit, Jacoby!

Let's go bats!

I have to work, so better get to it.

ecl, are you getting the game on Fox? I am and am so happy I'm not stuck with the Dodgers.

[ jules ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:22 PM

I miss DO & Remy.

That inning sucked.

[ Liza ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:25 PM

Agreed, Jules. I want my Remy.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:26 PM

Hey all...had to watch the whole first inning before checking in (yes, jules, I have it on FOX). Ugh, what a mess. They're really good -- I just hate that it's at our expense. And Manny was robbed. That was some catch by Schumaker.

Back to the other room...

[ Danielle ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:26 PM

Dice needs to stop looking at the score and pay attention to the strike zone

[ jules ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:26 PM

I'm not from Boston and the fake accent drove me nuts.

I don't think Dice is ready.

[ Danielle ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:29 PM

I think he could have been ready but was way too shaken up by the first inning

[ SoxPhan ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:30 PM

Bye, Dice-K.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:31 PM

Well that sucks. Poor Dice...

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:32 PM

Jules, whose fake accent are you talking about?

[ Karen ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:32 PM

I'm glad he's out. Although, not good when you only make it 2 innings.

[ orlandobeck ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:33 PM

Thank goodness Tito took Dice out- it was painful to watch

[ Karen ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:35 PM

I'm glad I have 2 Fox channels. I just lost sound on one, to a thunderstorm/tornado alert. Great.

[ njdevils ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:36 PM

Ugh.

[ jules ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:36 PM

The announcer, when he was talking about yachting on the Charles.

Poor Dice, but wow. That was horrible.

Talk about an introduction to the big show--no out, bases laoded.

THAT sucked.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:36 PM

WTF is going on here???

[ Karen ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:37 PM

That was bad, I'm gonna cry. I feel for the new kid pitching.

[ orlandobeck ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:37 PM

OMG they are killing me today a grand slam

[ Danielle ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:37 PM

I hate the number 4 today

[ Ellen ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:38 PM

My eyes are bleeding. I don't think I can watch any more.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:40 PM

Karen, you're in tornado mode again?

[ orlandobeck ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:45 PM

I love Brandon Moss. He hit a home run while suffering from appendicitis! What a great kid!

[ orlandobeck ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:46 PM

Come on Tek!

[ Liza ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:47 PM

I leave for a moment and I come back and... oh, shit.

[ Karen ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:49 PM

Storm mode again. Oh well, as long as I can watch the tv I am good, if not there is online. I can't believe the Sox are on tv today, tomorrow, Monday and Wednesday. When you live out of state, you never get to see them that much in one week.
Lohse close up, not bad looking.

[ Liza ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:49 PM

Cora!!

[ orlandobeck ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:50 PM

Way to go AC!

[ Danielle ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:50 PM

Thank you Cora!

[ jules ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:50 PM

Great hit, Cora. Getting two back is a start.

Karen, you can some of our sunshine--it's over 100 again.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:51 PM

I enjoy the hell out of AC.

Karen, I liked that closeup too. :-)

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:52 PM

Jules, the news was showing maps of the heat out west -- I forgot that you're affected. Ouch.

[ jules ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:55 PM

LOL, ecl...I was thinking, I'm enjoying the hell out of my AC, since it's as hot as hell outside.

Took me a moment to realize that you're talking about Cora.

Sabathia got a home run!

[ Ellen ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:55 PM

That was a sweet play!

[ Karen ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:55 PM

Jules, what state are you in?

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:56 PM

P.S. Jules, I just looked on line at some of the Cali temps over the last couple of days. Holy moly...I feel for the folks in the desert sections of the state. I know it's dry heat, but stilll...I can't imagine temps in the 110s.

[ orlandobeck ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:56 PM

Let's get some hits!

[ Ellen ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:57 PM

My DH has to go to Death Valley in July. He's dreading it.

[ Liza ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:57 PM

I was in Greece last summer and it was 50 C/120 F. It was BRUTAL.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:57 PM

LOL jules about the AC. I guess I should call him Alex on hot days, huh?

A HR for Sabathia? I was wondering "what now" when I heard his name dimly from the other room!

[ orlandobeck ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:58 PM

Big Papi!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:58 PM

Yikes, Death Valley in July...why would anyone have to go there? Do people actually live there? Ugh.

[ Liza ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:58 PM

WOW. Papi must have looked at the camera approximately once during that promo.

[ Danielle ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:59 PM

Aww Papi!

They should have held his lines up a little higher

[ jules ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:59 PM

Oh, we get temps over 110 here, too. It's NOT fun. I could never live in the desert where you get it more regularly.

Karen, I'm in Sacramento, California.

[ Anonymous ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:59 PM

Go Pedey!

[ Ellen ] says:
on June 21, 2008 4:59 PM

It's for work. There's a base out there where they're going to be testing his software and he has to be there.

[ Lyndsay ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:00 PM

so I show up in the 2nd and I'm completely confused - both by the score and the pitcher.
how did Dice-K sh-t the bed so fast exactly?
this is pretty embarrassing.

[ Ellen ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:00 PM

It was ugly. Very ugly.

[ jules ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:01 PM

Liza, I was thinking the same thing!

I don't think people live in Death Valley. The best time to visit is *early* spring--from what I hear.

[ Anonymous ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:02 PM

Manny!

[ Liza ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:03 PM

Two-run homer, two-run base hit, grand slam.

[ jules ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:04 PM

Ellen, Death Valley in July? I don't blame him.

Speaking of software, I better get to work!

[ orlandobeck ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:05 PM

Could McCarver possibly talk more about himself during this game?

[ Karen ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:05 PM

I didn't think it got that hot in Sacramento. I do love California though. My sister lives in Sparks,NV, so we see Ca a lot.

[ Liza ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:06 PM

I was just thinking that. :P

[ Liza ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:06 PM

That was to orlandobeck, by the way.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:06 PM

I love seeing Papi smile, even if it's in the dugout. :-)

[ orlandobeck ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:08 PM

First time here! You folks seem really nice!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:10 PM

Welcome, orlandobeck! We do have quite a good time here.

[ orlandobeck ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:11 PM

How 'bout this new pitcher? I'm kinda liking him!

[ Liza ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:11 PM

Hey! We don't bite, mostly.

Nice inning for Smith!

[ Danielle ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:13 PM

So has anyone been to the Trop? I've never been to a game there and am going July 1! Just wondering what it was like...

[ orlandobeck ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:13 PM

Youk!

[ Karen ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:15 PM

I have been to the Trop many times. I am hoping to go this time. Loud. It's indoors, so everything echoes. And when I was there last, they gave the Rays fans cowbells. Not good. Cowbells, indoors.

[ orlandobeck ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:16 PM

Since I live in Orlando, I have been to the Trop! Not really a baseball atmosphere but when the Sox come it is 2/3 Sox 1/3 Rays fans! The Rays fans are really obnoxious this year though!

[ orlandobeck ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:17 PM

Karen,
I was at that cowbell game! I had a terrible headache too! A Living Hell!

[ Karen ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:18 PM

Yeah, I have noticed the Rays fans have been more obnoxious this year. Last time I was there, there were some really loud ones behind me.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:18 PM

That Piniella commercial always cracks me up. And the All-Star Game commercial just made me cry. Wondering if Big Albert will be off the DL by then. I can live without his heroics versus *us* but would love to see him in the ASG.

[ karen ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:19 PM

Yeah, I don't wish to relive the cowbells. I just hope to get there early enough this time. I didn't last time, and I was in a lot by the marina. Nice hike.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:20 PM

That cowbell game gave even TV watchers and radio listeners headaches, trust me!

[ orlandobeck ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:21 PM

Wonder if they'll be a fight

[ Danielle ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:22 PM

Thanks Karen and orlando!

[ orlandobeck ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:22 PM

Sorry for my previous post! Too many Foster's oilcans

[ Karen ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:24 PM

I sat in up above the bullpen last time. I did enjoy being behind my favorite, Papelbon. Also that was when Tek was sick, so he was in front of me too. I haven't got tickets yet, hoping to go though. It's just hard to justify spending the money, when i have been out of work so long.

[ orlandobeck ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:26 PM

Double play! Sweet!

[ orlandobeck ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:27 PM

Karen do you live in Fla.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:27 PM

That DL list they just showed for the Cardinals...I can't imagine how they can even THINK that Encarnacion will ever be able to play again. Did anyone else here see that injury last season? Totally gruesome...shattered his eye socket while he was in the on-deck circle. I don't think he has any meaningful vision in that eye at this point. It's really sad.

[ Karen ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:28 PM

Yeah, I live in Vero Beach, FL

[ orlandobeck ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:30 PM

Karen my DH didnt find a job here for the 1st 2 years we lived here so I can relate.

[ orlandobeck ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:32 PM

Poor Pedey!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:33 PM

Oops, Pedey, what was that? LOL...

That Schumaker makes some lovely catches. :-(

[ Danielle ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:33 PM

ecl, that is sad

Aww pleats, you needed better coordination there

[ Karen ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:34 PM

Yeah the job situation is bad in a lot of the country, but Florida seems to be worse, because it is a snowbird state, and they are gone now. I had a positive interview last week, so I am praying and hoping.

[ orlandobeck ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:35 PM

Stop making fun of Pedey!

[ orlandobeck ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:36 PM

karen I wish you the best!

[ Danielle ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:36 PM

Karen, I hope that interview works out for you

I know what you mean by snowbirds down here, there's 3 houses on my half of the street that are rentals for snowbirds

[ orlandobeck ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:37 PM

They are ahead 6 runs and he wants to bunt

[ orlandobeck ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:39 PM

Got him Javier!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:40 PM

Danielle, it was one of the most upsetting things I've ever seen during a game. It happened on a line drive foul backwards by the batter. It's amazing it didn't obliterate the eye itself.

Karen, good luck with the job situation. My cousin in NY went through the same thing...and just had a couple of interviews and landed a great job! So hopefully it's a trend!

Aha, orlandobeck, now we know who you like! ;-)

[ orlandobeck ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:41 PM

Love ya Pedey!

[ orlandobeck ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:42 PM

ecl1958 who do you think I like? LOL

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:43 PM

LOL...going by your name I *would* have guessed Josh, but...

[ Danielle ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:43 PM

ecl, that's horrible. just thinking about it nursing wise breaks my heart.

orlando, I would only ever mock with love since I can be a clutz myself :)

[ orlandobeck ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:45 PM

My deepest RS crush is actually the Captain!

[ Danielle ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:45 PM

JD!!!!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:45 PM

Thank you J.D...

[ orlandobeck ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:45 PM

JD!!!!!

[ Karen ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:45 PM

Way to go Drew. Just wish someone was on base.

[ jules ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:46 PM

Nitpicking, I know...but mr. announcer dude...it's the Stanford Cardinal. NOT Cardinals.

ugh.

Karen, good luck!!!!!!

:: goes back to working ::

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:48 PM

Danielle, I had forgotten that you're a medical person too. So you know what I'm talking about from the insider's perspective. Yeah, it was awful.

orlando, The Captain is lovely. I don't blame you. My deepest RS crush (for the moment) just struck out. :-(

[ Karen ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:50 PM

I wish the fox people would stop showing Boston scenery. It makes me homesick.
For those of you who might not know, my ultimate favorite is Papelbon, but my other 2 favs are Tek and Beckett.

[ jules ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:50 PM

Speaking of sports crushes, I was having a crappy afternoon at work yesterday and to help cheer me up, my husband sent me a picture of Howie Long. That made me laugh--wasn't expecting that!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:53 PM

Jules, wow, nice looking! I'm not a football person so only knew the name until a Google search a moment ago. And your husband is very understanding, I must add. Now I'm thinking you may be in my general age bracket (Howie Long and I are contemporaries).

[ Ian ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:54 PM

This was all a dream right. Dice-K really didn't give up 7 earned runs in an inning.

[ orlandobeck ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:54 PM

I don't think my husband would ever send me a picture of Tek! Lucky you!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:54 PM

Karen, I can appreciate most any guy on the team, depending on my mood, but it's the Latin-American guys that turn my head the most easily.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:55 PM

Oh goodness, Ian...you just walked into a nightmare, didn't you?

[ Danielle ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:55 PM

Ian, I wish
thank goodness that didn't hit Youk's hand

[ Ian ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:56 PM

no i've been watching. i was watching soccer on the tele and the red sox on the comp. I was just making sure it really did happen.

[ Ian ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:57 PM

I'll send everyone pictures of baseball players to help cheer y'all up.

[ jules ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:58 PM

I've adored Howie for ages. You know it's bad when your toddler daughter would yell, "MOM! Howie's on TV!" I toned it down after my DH and I got married, tho ;-). He did surprise me by sending me the photo and it totally made me laugh, which was a good thing seeing how I wanted to scream at the moment.

ecl, I'm turning 40 soon--it's weird to see that in type ;-)

[ orlandobeck ] says:
on June 21, 2008 5:59 PM

ok Ian here's my list: Tek, Pedey, Casey, Manny,Papi,Beckett,Ells,Mikey...

[ orlandobeck ] says:
on June 21, 2008 6:01 PM

Damn!

[ Ian ] says:
on June 21, 2008 6:01 PM

J.D. needs to work on his jumping. a few more inches on the vertical and he catches that.

and jules - now you can ogle over Howie's son in the NFL.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 21, 2008 6:03 PM

Ian, I would love that. :-) I think you know who my favorites are.

Jules, I think I've known of a few friends' DHs who are understanding like that. If I had one he would have to be mighty understanding, that's for sure.

And don't feel too old...I'm a full 10 years ahead of you. Will be 50 in 3 months and 2 days. Ugh.

[ orlandobeck ] says:
on June 21, 2008 6:03 PM

Ok has anybody ever noticed the grey haired man with sunglasses that is usually just to the right of the right handed batter? I want his seat!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 21, 2008 6:04 PM

Ian, you're right, JD was close to robbing Ankiel.

Orlando, we've got a couple in common on our lists, I see. :-)

[ Ian ] says:
on June 21, 2008 6:05 PM

i have to ask. DH is

a. designated hitter
b. dumb husband
c. dickhead husband
d. all of the above
e. none of the above

[ Ian ] says:
on June 21, 2008 6:06 PM

it's everyone's favorite ad.

vivvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvva viagra.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 21, 2008 6:06 PM

Ian, it COULD be all of the above, and normally I would use it as a), but on my "gal boards" it usually means "dear husband."

[ orlandobeck ] says:
on June 21, 2008 6:07 PM

I hope its dear husband I don't have a designated hitter but if I did it would be Big Papi!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 21, 2008 6:07 PM

Me too orlando! He's a big bucket of sunshine. :-D

[ Ian ] says:
on June 21, 2008 6:08 PM

well at least now i know since i'm usually the only male here

[ Karen ] says:
on June 21, 2008 6:08 PM

Love my Teky.

[ jules ] says:
on June 21, 2008 6:08 PM

LOL, Ian! For me, DH is Dear Husband. And he certainly is. I'm very blessed.

[ jules ] says:
on June 21, 2008 6:10 PM

:: sniff ::

They're talking about Curt's surgery. I'm so saddened by that.

:: sniff ::

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 21, 2008 6:11 PM

Stupid announcers...Schilling was not the co-MVP of the 2001 WS, seeing as how it was NYY vs ARI.

[ orlandobeck ] says:
on June 21, 2008 6:12 PM

I feel bad for Schill too but no denying he has had a great career!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 21, 2008 6:13 PM

Me too, jules. He's battled for so long.

And I'm glad that you have a Dear Husband.

The announcers also messed up by failing to mention Kelly Pedroia in their discussion about skin cancer prevention efforts by Sox folks.

[ Ian ] says:
on June 21, 2008 6:14 PM

ecl he was co-mvp of the 2001 world series since he pitched for arizona until the end of the 2003 season.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 21, 2008 6:15 PM

OOPS! *I* am the one who is stupid. Wasn't thinking when I posted about the 2001 WS. SORRRYYYYY!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 21, 2008 6:15 PM

Yeah, Ian, I remembered that right about the time you posted that! (red-faced with shame, hanging head)

[ orlandobeck ] says:
on June 21, 2008 6:15 PM

Why did they take Tek out

Ugh, not Cash. I want Teky back.

[ orlandobeck ] says:

Cash is not my favorite he can't hit and that little Greek kid Kotteras is really cute

[ Ian ] says:
on June 21, 2008 6:19 PM

tek's not hitting much better than cash right now.

[ orlandobeck ] says:

[ Ian ] says:

[ orlandobeck ] says:

They just said Drew has homered for Boston well I'm glad he didn't homer for the Cards they really don't need any help today!

[ ecl1958 ] says:

Orlando, Kottaras is definitely cute. Actually, Cash is sorta cute as well.

[ orlandobeck ] says:
on June 21, 2008 6:29 PM

Cash is too chubby

[ orlandobeck ] says:
on June 21, 2008 6:34 PM

They show the people leaving the game walking over the bridge

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 21, 2008 6:37 PM

orlando, interestingly, his listed height/weight are exactly the same as Manny. Now don't get me wrong, Manny's a substantial dude, but he doesn't look chubby to me -- I guess it's muscle, plus the oversized uni. Cash I haven't watched enough to see whether he's "chubby" or not. Maybe he just has a chubby face?

[ Ian ] says:
on June 21, 2008 6:38 PM

is it bed time yet

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 21, 2008 6:39 PM

Pretty cool looking, to see the pedestrians on the bridge right next to the cars. The only ones around here are one lane for pedestrians, well caged off from the cars.

[ orlandobeck ] says:
on June 21, 2008 6:39 PM

You may be right he just suffers in comparison to a guy like Tek

[ Karen ] says:
on June 21, 2008 6:41 PM

Closeup of Papelbon. Yum Yum.
There was also one of Beckett, who I look forward to seeing on tv on Monday nite.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 21, 2008 6:42 PM

Orlando, most everyone would suffer in comparison to Tek!

Karen, Paps looked pretty good there, didn't he? :-)

[ Karen ] says:
on June 21, 2008 6:45 PM

Tek's contract ends this year. I hope the Sox know that if they didn't renew him, the fans might kill them. Also Manny needs to be renewed too.

[ Ian ] says:
on June 21, 2008 6:47 PM

Tek will get renewed because there's really no one out there and no one in the organization is ready to step up into in an every day role yet.

Manny will have his 2009 option exercised at the end of the season. I don't think they want him playing for any other team they face.

[ orlandobeck ] says:
on June 21, 2008 6:50 PM

oh well see you guys tomorrow?

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 21, 2008 6:50 PM

I hope they both come back. A captain is still a captain no matter if aging. As for Manny, he's in such good shape for an older player that it would be foolish to let him go, not to mention there would be mass mutiny throughout Red Sox Nation. I hope he gets to play as many more years as he chooses and retires as a Red Sox.

[ Karen ] says:
on June 21, 2008 6:50 PM

Ugh, that was bad. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

[ jules ] says:
on June 21, 2008 6:50 PM

That game sucked.

Go whoever is playing the Yankees (Reds?) and whoever is playing TB.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 21, 2008 6:51 PM

Certainly, orlando. Again, welcome to the party. Hopefully it will have a happier ending tomorrow.

I'm out, y'all. Much to do around the house.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 21, 2008 6:52 PM

Jules, NY has already lost 6-0 to CIN. TB is scoreless in the 4th against the Astros.

[ Karen ] says:
on June 21, 2008 6:52 PM

Papelbon has to be renewed also. Tek may be older by age, but he is still in amazing shape, and mentally amazing too.

[ Ian ] says:
on June 21, 2008 6:55 PM

The Red Sox control Papelbon and Pedroia for another 2 years so they won't be going anywhere.

[ Kat ] says:
on June 23, 2008 10:18 AM

Paps aint goin anywhere! He blew a few saves........thats like a first for him!
