Hey Y'all!

TGIF!

I'm glad to hear that Jacoby is day-to-day. I hope he gets well soon.

[ fc ] says:
on June 6, 2008 6:59 PM

Home tonight after my 3-day odyssey at Fenway...or down the rabbit hole, or whatever the hell that place was last night.

[ Erin ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:00 PM

I hope tonights game is not as crazy as last nights.

[ jules ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:01 PM

That was a wild night last night.

Let's Go Sox!

[ Bethie ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:01 PM

I don't know if we could handle another crazy game like last night. We are running out of players! :)

[ jules ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:05 PM

fc, you were there last night?

I'm so tired, I feel like I can pass out here on the couch.

[ Jessi ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:07 PM

Hey all!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:07 PM

Hi all. I had an epic horrible day at work and need this game in the worst way. I hope it's a good one, but a little calmer than last night. Haven't even caught up on the Sox news yet as I just sat here for 1/2 hour trying to process the workday and forgot to turn on the computer.

[ fc ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:08 PM

Yup, I was there. Weird vibe.
And I had no viiew of the dugout so I had absolutely no clue about the sideshow that happened there.

[ Bethie ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:09 PM

Sorry you had a bad day ecl. :(

At least the weekend is upon us.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:12 PM

I'll probably post about it on my LJ, Bethie...soon as I regain my wits. The weekend may be enough to recuperate and reload, but for now suffice it to say that I'm going to be taking my job one day at a time for the foreseeable future.

[ Jessi ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:13 PM

What the hell was that?!

[ Erin ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:13 PM

That was lame

[ fc ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:13 PM

WTF was that? Aarrrgghh

[ fc ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:14 PM

2-0 already? What's going on here?

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:14 PM

WTH?

[ Jessi ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:18 PM

Oh exciting news (for me anyway) - a kid from my high school got drafted yesterday by the Phillies!

[ Bethie ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:18 PM

Well, that went well.

Good thing we like to come from behind and win, cause it might be one of those days. :)

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:19 PM

And with no Superman or Manny-Man...c'mon guys, step it up!

[ Lulu ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:20 PM

Yup :)

Coco got a nice reception at Fenway.

[ fc ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:23 PM

Go JD! And thank god the pitcher's ok.

[ Jessi ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:23 PM

Shit that was close

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:24 PM

You know what amazed me? Some of the blogs today were bitching because our guys didn't get more involved in the fight...like they weren't protecting Coco enough so weren't loyal teammates. Personally, I thought it was GREAT to see some of our guys doing their darndest to pull Rays players away. Thoughts?

[ Lulu ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:24 PM

Praying that this game won't turn into one of Felix's shutouts.

[ Bethie ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:25 PM

Yikes!! Good thing he's got quick reflexes.

[ Jessi ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:25 PM

Ecl, I think it was a smart move by the Sox - better to pull guys off then to punch and get suspended.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:26 PM

I should qualify the above by mentioning that the blogs in question were the testosterone-fueled ones.

[ Lulu ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:27 PM

I agree! Our players were definitely playing peacemaker more than the Rays. I mean, if you go an punch someone and break your hand that isn't exactly being loyal to your team.
And really, according to people, a lot of the Rays were just scratching and pulling hair. So much for fighting.

[ Bethie ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:28 PM

I think our players jumped out there and did all they could do. They were doing their best to get coco out of the pile. Even Schill was out there yanking on people.

I'm still having a hard time believing they suspended Jon for 5 games. I just don't get it. Casey either. I have gone back to the video, and I didn't see him pulling any punches. Maybe because he wasn't on the "red sox" pile and he went after Shields pile of goons. Who knows.

[ Danielle ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:29 PM

The Sox were smart enough to know pulling them apart was better. On ESPN today, Tim K (never know how to spell his last name) talked about a coach that told his team that the brawls only lead to hurting your own team because you're the better team and you help the other team by getting your team some suspensions. I thought that was the best way to put it.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:29 PM

I thought it was smart too, Jessi, to wage peace rather than war.

[ Danielle ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:32 PM

Bethie, if you watch TG's video at 3:00 minutes you see Casey throw one punch then he gets lost under the pile. He went into the Shields pile right after Hale pulled Shields down and let Shields have one punch. Navarro definately deserved some kind of punishment if Casey got slapped with one too.

[ Lulu ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:33 PM

Did anyone else here on WRKO Coco saying something about Schill telling him he'd lost all respect for him? I was across the house though so maybe I was hearing things.

Did Lester seem like he was throwing at anyone? I know one of the hit batters was a curveball that didn't break.

[ fc ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:34 PM

Phew - Youk struck out and no one killed each other. ;)

[ Bethie ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:34 PM

I'll agree with you on that Danielle. Navarro had Coco in a headlock even after they were on the ground.

Unnecessary if you ask me.

[ Jessi ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:34 PM

Haha I love them!

[ Erin ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:35 PM

Yay Casey!

[ Lulu ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:36 PM

Tek!

[ Jessi ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:36 PM

I can't remember the last time I saw Tek bunt - go Tek!

[ Danielle ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:38 PM

I love that they brought up Moss. I voted for him a bunch of times for International League All Star team.

But he wasn't supposed to strike out. :(

[ Lulu ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:43 PM

dangit D:

[ Jessi ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:43 PM

And my dislike for Crisp continues to grow...

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:46 PM

Oh that's right, you said he's a thug, right?

[ Jessi ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:47 PM

I don't know if thug is the right word...I'm just not a huge fan of his attitude and views on some things.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:48 PM

Someone called him thuggish last night, but I can't remember who. Sorry, didn't know it wasn't you!

[ Jessi ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:49 PM

It's ok - I certainly did express my dislike for him though.

[ Erin-2 ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:51 PM

I believe I used the word thug last night. That's how I would characterize his behavior of the last few days.

[ Bethie ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:52 PM

do we seriously have 3 errors already????? WTF???

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:53 PM

Ah, Erin -- thanks for the clarification. Bethie...I'm with you...WTF?

[ Bethie ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:55 PM

Someone needs to send in a case of red bull or something.

[ Danielle ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:55 PM

Colon needs to work on pitching to the strike zone so he doesnt have to make bad pickoff attempts

[ Erin ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:55 PM

Come on Red sox bats!

[ Danielle ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:56 PM

Don't forget the case of gum too! ;)

[ jenny again ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:58 PM

we seem ... off tonight.

jenny no likey. D:

[ Danielle ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:58 PM

Drew has one of the hottest bats on the team lately!

[ Bethie ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:59 PM

Maybe all the drama last night just wore them out?? :)

[ fc ] says:
on June 6, 2008 7:59 PM

Danielle - That's what she said.

[ Bethie ] says:
on June 6, 2008 8:04 PM

Grrrr... Mlb.tv sucks major ass you guys.

[ Jessi ] says:
on June 6, 2008 8:08 PM

I went to dinner and came back to find that we are still being shutout by, statistically, the worst team in baseball.

[ Erin ] says:
on June 6, 2008 8:10 PM

This isn't fun

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 6, 2008 8:10 PM

WRKO just did the big jinx...said that a base hit would score two runs. @@

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 6, 2008 8:11 PM

I want Papi and Manny and Jacoby....WAAAAHHH!

(sorry y'all, will try to be more mature)

[ Jessi ] says:
on June 6, 2008 8:11 PM

This is really not helping my already bad mood =[

[ fc ] says:
on June 6, 2008 8:12 PM

I don't like baseball.

[ Bethie ] says:
on June 6, 2008 8:13 PM

As long as you don't charge the mound and start a fight ecl, we'll be okay. :)

[ Jessi ] says:
on June 6, 2008 8:16 PM

Am I imagining things or are there really 106 people online?

[ Danielle ] says:
on June 6, 2008 8:18 PM

Id have to be imagining things too....

[ Erin-2 ] says:
on June 6, 2008 8:19 PM

Way to work the count, Lugo.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 6, 2008 8:20 PM

I'm seeing 108 at the moment. Must be some sort of glitch...

[ Erin ] says:
on June 6, 2008 8:21 PM

and they leave another man in scoring position

[ fc ] says:
on June 6, 2008 8:29 PM

This is ugly. So, so ugly.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 6, 2008 8:30 PM

This is really ugly.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 6, 2008 8:31 PM

Uh, fc...GMTA.

[ Jessi ] says:
on June 6, 2008 8:31 PM

I'm almost happy that my mlb.tv isn't working.

[ Bethie ] says:
on June 6, 2008 8:32 PM

Who are these people and what have they done with our ball team? I demand the real Red Sox show themselves right now! :(

We're not supposed to have games like this at Fenway against a team that is as bad as the Mariners. Come on now!!

[ Bethie ] says:
on June 6, 2008 8:33 PM

me too Jessi. The live box score at Boston.com is depressing enough.

[ Jessi ] says:
on June 6, 2008 8:36 PM

Red Sox record: 38-25
Mariners record: 21-39
Home record: 24-5
Colons record: 3-0
Current score: 6-0 Mariners

And the strangeness continues...

[ Jessi ] says:
on June 6, 2008 8:38 PM

On a more positive note, Yanks and Rays are both down by 1 in their games.

[ Erin-2 ] says:
on June 6, 2008 8:45 PM

So I'm not the only one having issues with MLB.tv tonight? It was working and now it won't load at all.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 6, 2008 8:47 PM

At the moment I'm having issues loading the player search page on mlb.com. Maybe the site overall is having a problem?

[ Bethie ] says:
on June 6, 2008 8:48 PM

I can't even get the home page for mlb.com to load. They are having serious issues tonight.

[ fc ] says:
on June 6, 2008 8:49 PM

I'm having trouble loading the vote-for-RSN governor form. ;)

[ Jessi ] says:
on June 6, 2008 8:49 PM

My mlb.tv is back!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 6, 2008 8:51 PM

MLB.com is loading for me just fine. Maybe the glitch resolved.

[ fc ] says:
on June 6, 2008 8:52 PM

...and I just voted.

[ fc ] says:
on June 6, 2008 9:00 PM

Is our team awake?

[ Jessi ] says:
on June 6, 2008 9:00 PM

Fuck this.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 6, 2008 9:02 PM

This is so damn depressing. Not what I needed tonight. It's putting the cap on what was a very upsetting day.

[ Bethie ] says:
on June 6, 2008 9:05 PM

Just about embarrassing.

[ Jessi ] says:
on June 6, 2008 9:07 PM

::Rocking back and forth:: Make it stop, please make it stop.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 6, 2008 9:10 PM

I want my team back...

[ fc ] says:
on June 6, 2008 9:44 PM

Well.
Till tomorrow then.

[ Liza ] says:
on June 6, 2008 9:45 PM

...did we really just lose to John (bleeping) McLaren?

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 6, 2008 9:46 PM

Yep. And they're on TV here, so I hope tomorrow is better than tonight. (sigh)

See y'all.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 6, 2008 9:47 PM

Wow...there was someone else here. I don't know what just happened......we weren't supposed to lose to them.

[ Jessi ] says:
on June 6, 2008 9:48 PM

Well this just about sucked. It seems like every time the Sox get a day off (this Monday) they tend to suck in the games leading up to it. Cya guys tomorrow.

[ Meaphycerce ] says:
on June 21, 2008 8:03 PM

Hello,

I'm newer here and stopping in to say hi.
I hope everyone has a good day.
