Wow, no one here yet?

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on June 7, 2008 3:57 PM

*tumbleweeds roll past*

It's a GORGEOUS day out.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 7, 2008 3:57 PM

Okay, I'll start things off. Who do I contact at FOX to ask them why they are showing Cubs-Dodgers here in NC, despite what the mlb.com schedule says? Faith (AKA ecl) is not pleased.

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on June 7, 2008 3:57 PM

And let me say again how much I heart the red jerseys.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 7, 2008 3:58 PM

Ahhh...I see you both were quicker on the draw than I was! Hi all...

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on June 7, 2008 3:58 PM

I feel your pain, ecl - FOX's stranglehold on Saturday baseball means everyone who's not in the Boston market (or, in this case, Seattle) gets blacked out of the game - no NESN, no Extra Innings, no MLB.TV.

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on June 7, 2008 3:59 PM

WHAT IS IT with the Sox and Mariners? They SUCK ASS. We should be slaughtering them.

[ jules ] says:
on June 7, 2008 3:59 PM

Hi fc, I'm stuck with the Dodgers/Cubs today.

<whine>I hate the Fox Saturday games because all the dough I pay to Directv/MLB for EI doesn't matter. </whine>

Fox had Pleats on before the game. A big 49er fan. Love that.

Go Sox!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:01 PM

I wanna see the red jerseys too...waaaahhhh! I remember them as being really nice, though.

How gorgeous is it up there, TG? It's now 90 for the third straight day, although it's down a big now because of a thunderstorm.

Nice K!

[ jules ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:02 PM

now WTH? The Fox HD feed went out. ugh.

[ fc ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:03 PM

Nice job Wake!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:03 PM

But Texy, why isn't this one nationally televised? I usually get the Sox games that are on FOX. :-(

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:04 PM

Eek, jules.

ecl: it's beautiful. It was chilly and in the 50s last night- today, it's 90 degrees out and not a cloud in the sky.

[ Danielle ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:04 PM

ecl, I don't get it either because Im in Orlando and Im getting the game so far *knocks on wood*

[ Liza ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:04 PM

Hey everyone. I just went to go get a jersey at Mo's and I couldn't find the one I wanted. I couldn't find a nameless #24 home jersey. At Mo's. Sigh.

Also, me and my Boston native self over here would disagree with the "gorgeous day" comment above. It's HOT.

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:05 PM

It is nationally televised - but FOX has multiple games they broadcast every weekend. Which one you get depends on how they draw the market lines for each game.

[ Liza ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:05 PM

Yesterday was rotten, though. It was freezing and cloudy and yuck.

[ jules ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:06 PM

I need a baseball fix, so I'll have the Cubbies game on for a while. Derek Lowe is pitching for the Dodgers.

I bought the DDR game for my daughter, and she's biting at the bit to play it. Her reasoning, the Sox aren't on and the Cubs aren't in HD, so why can't she play the game? ha!

Oh, go Royals ;-)

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:06 PM

I'll take nights in the 50s. I hate 90. If it were in the low 80s I'd be just fine.

And should I assume that all the FOX Saturdays on my season schedule are no-gos here in North Carolina?

[ fc ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:07 PM

That's a Texan for you. I'm not complaining about the weather, but I'd start that off with "It's hot!"

And more dugout shots, please. Need to see Mikey Lowell in a red jersey.

[ Liza ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:07 PM

Jeez. That ball just flew off Coco's bat. Too bad it was foul.

[ jules ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:08 PM

ecl, I've sent Fox Sports an email and will do it again. They need to understand that people in Northern California do *not* give a rats ass about the Dodgers. We don't care! LA is another world from Northern California. Show us the Sox!

It's a perfect day here. Sunny and breezy. I've got all the windows open. I'm trying to work, but as you can see, am not getting much done.

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:08 PM

You should call your local FOX affiliate and ask - but there's no way for me to tell what game they'll choose to show in your market each week. Since you don't have a local team in NC, you're pretty much just going to end up getting whatever FOX and MLB guess that a baseball viewer in NC will want to see.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:10 PM

Weeeellll, I can only hope that FOX will draw their market lines differently next time. Maybe they gave us the Cubs game because we get the Cubs in this cable market because of WGN Superstation (which carries a ton of them).

[ Liza ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:10 PM

JD!

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:10 PM

Woo! You don't see fielding miscues by Ichiro very often at all.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:10 PM

Nice work JD! :-D

[ fc ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:10 PM

Just occurred to me I haven't had a (secondary) baseball boyfriend lately. JD, it's SO your turn!

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:11 PM

504!!!!!!!!!

[ Liza ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:11 PM

MANNY!

504

[ Danielle ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:11 PM

That just made my week!

[ fc ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:11 PM

SO-WEEET

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:12 PM

I bet you got the Cubs game because that's the marquee game this week - since (a) the Cubs are the best team in baseball, (b) Dodgers don't suck and DLowe is pitching. Any market that doesn't have a team playing on FOX is probably going to get the Cubs game.

[ Liza ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:12 PM

Holy sheeit, that was a HUGE one.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:12 PM

Can't wait to see that one on the replay....way to go, Manuel!

[ jules ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:12 PM

MANNY!!!!!!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:14 PM

I wonder how many feet that was? Looks like the day off was beneficial!

[ jules ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:15 PM

Texy, that makes sense. I just wish that EI subscribers could have access to their other feeds. Oh well. I always cheer for the Cubs.

But, the Dodgers SO suck!
:: so says the native San Franciscan who grew up at the Stick ::

[ fc ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:15 PM

Note to self: hang out on Landsdowne St more.

[ jules ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:16 PM

*DO

I need to get back to work.

I'm just being a whiner today ;-)

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:17 PM

Ahhh (shrug)...s'okay. There will be other games on TV...ESPN and TBS. As for the FOX games, you're right, it probably depends on the marquee match-up. Hopefully the ones against NYY will be televised here. I'd also like to see the one against the Cards, but TBS is carrying part of the same series here.

[ fc ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:18 PM

Wake is looking awfully sharp so far today.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:19 PM

I'm laughing about the Dodgers sucking. Way, way back when...my mom rooted for the Dodgers. Of course, they were still in Brooklyn at the time. She hasn't given a rat's patootie about baseball since they moved West. I guess having her team leave town ruined the whole thing for her.

[ jules ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:23 PM

ecl, my Dad would take my brother and I to see the SF Giants at The Stick (I will *never* call it anything else, sponsors be damned). We learned early who to cheer against.

OH, Fox showed Manny's HR.

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:25 PM

Everytime I listen to a broadcast team that's NotRemy and NotOrsillo, I get sad. And then I realize that at least today, it's NotJoeMorgan and Not McCarver... and I am uproariously happy.

[ Bethie ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:26 PM

I'm absolutely thrilled right now. Thanks to FOX and stupid mlb.tv, I won't get to see Red Sox baseball until Saturday.

Me thinks baseball hates me right now. :(

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:27 PM

jules, I can't imagine calling the park in SF anything other than Candlestick. I remember the one time I was ever in that area (in my teens) we passed the park and it looked just amazing, perched there right on the water.

The HR is up on Gameday. Will watch it right now! :-)

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:28 PM

Bethie, I figured out a couple of hours before the game that FOX screwed over the NC market. Bah. Thank goodness for Texy and Gameday.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:32 PM

Thank you Gameday, for allowing me to see that beautiful HR. And to see how great our guys look in their red jerseys.

I'm assuming the Gameday video is from FOX...did anyone catch Lugo looking grumpy in the dugout as he and Manny rubbed elbows? Very uncharacteristic to see them not jumping all over each other. Hmmm...

[ fc ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:32 PM

Dammit

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:32 PM

Aw, hell. Our defense is still looking loose and sloppy today - it's looked that way for 2 or 3 days now.

[ fc ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:35 PM

Yeah, I didn't see JD make a move towards that one.

And Lugo - thanks for not dropping that.

[ jules ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:37 PM

Texy, I don't like to hear that. Our D needs to be on it--especially with Wake on the hill.

Lets go bats!

[ fc ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:39 PM

Nice hit Coco!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:39 PM

Okay, that's a start!

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:40 PM

Sac bunt by Lugo - excellent.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:40 PM

Yeah, legs!

[ fc ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:41 PM

They just called a game that's 2-2 in the 3rd a pitcher's duel?

[ fc ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:41 PM

Pardon moi: should be " pitchers' duel," since you need 2 to duel.

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:42 PM

I heart Mark Grace. He was one of my first baseball crushes.

C'mon Sean!

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:43 PM

fc- But it's tied! That means it's a duel! Even if there have already been 4 runs scored in less than 3 innings!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:43 PM

If you're skeered, say you're skeered, Batista! LOL...

[ jules ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:57 PM

I let my daughter put in her DDR game. Techno music in my head. I'll need some Zeppelin therapy for this, but she's having a blast.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:58 PM

random: Moss's roster photo strikes a familiar chord with me. I finally figured it out: He reminds me of Chipper Jones when he was young. Without cap, I wouldn't know. But with the cap they have the same general look, at least to my eyes.

[ fc ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:59 PM

Nice work by Cora and Moss.
We got bench!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 7, 2008 4:59 PM

YEAH! Go AC and Moss!

[ jules ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:01 PM

Yeah! great job Cora & Moss!

Coco!

[ Danielle ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:01 PM

Nice hit, Coco!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:01 PM

AlRIGHT!!!

[ fc ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:01 PM

I am liking this inning.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:04 PM

Did I hear that right...did Lugo almost get beaned?

I'm liking Coco putting on the speed in Jacoby's absence.

[ LifelongSoxFan ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:04 PM

WICKED bummed about FOX....I'm trying to nap with the Dodgers game on mute but it's hard to do that with one eye open...just saw the score and had stop by to .....WOO-HOO!

[ LifelongSoxFan ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:05 PM

hahaha - we got bench.....GOT THAT RIGHT!!!

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:05 PM

Indeed, fc. This inning does not suck.

[ fc ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:07 PM

Yes, Lugo almost got hit, and got two more freebie balls on ineffective pitch-out attempt.

Coco seems pretty pumped. Gee I wonder why.

[ fc ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:11 PM

Eeiiww. Stop showing happy Yankees. Stop talking about Damon the big 04 hero.

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:13 PM

6 hits in one game? That's pretty damned spectacular. Even if he does still suck ass.

[ fc ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:15 PM

Whoa. The caffeine didn't cure my headache so I moved on to alcohol. Now I have a headache in exactly one side of my head.

[ Katherine ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:15 PM

I'd like to see more of Brandon Moss.

edit: Nobody cares about Johnny Damon.

[ jules ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:16 PM

damn the yanks. ugh.

[ jules ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:17 PM

the demon got six hits? Texy had it right ;-)

fc, sorry about the headache.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:17 PM

Hah...now at least I'm up to speed for the next time I talk to my NYY partisan cousin.

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:17 PM

OK, I'm outrageously bored. Not with baseball- but you know me, I need to be doing something while I watch. Want to play some sort of stupid game? Like... I someone says a letter, and we have to name as many ballplayers as we can with a name that begins with that letter. No cheating on google!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:18 PM

fc: Sorry about your headache. Did you try shoulder and neck rolls, hot pack on neck, etc?

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:19 PM

"I someone" should be just "someone".

And they talked about JD being out last week with vertigo... I got hit last night with a MAJOR case of vertigo. I almost vomited, and I couldn't walk straight. It was like being really really drunk- except minus the fun.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:19 PM

WRKO just said that Papi was shagging fly balls in center today.

[ jules ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:19 PM

Texy, don't tempt me. I *really* need to get some work done. I'm so burned out on it, but deadlines are deadlines (well, this one was a few weeks ago, but got pushed back because of other projects).

[ fc ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:20 PM

Awwww - I didn't know Manny was wearing Papi's number on one arm. Talk about wearing your heart on your sleeve.

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:20 PM

I was gonna say... Sean's bat has been abnormally cold today. And then he gets a basehit.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:20 PM

TG, that's not fun. I occasionally get it when I sit up from lying down. Not long enough to get nauseated but it does make me "swimmy-headed." Ugh. I hope yours stays gone.

Yeah, Mayor!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:22 PM

fc: That's adorable, didn't catch that. The world needs more like Papi and Manny. They've got to be two of the sweetest men on the planet.

[ Jessi ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:22 PM

Hey guys - just tuned. Are the announcers seriously discussing umpire masks? God I miss Remy and Orsillo.

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:23 PM

This wasn't a case of passing dizzyness, though - I had it for about 4 hours.

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:24 PM

Two walks for Brandon.

[ fc ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:25 PM

Thanks for the sympathy guys.
ecl thanks for the advice but without boring you with the details I'm battling a little illness right so I think it's more related to that. I'll just continue to inappropriately self medicate. :)

And geez, Tex, you always want to make work out of watching a game.

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:27 PM

I know. I need to keep my hands busy. (that's what she said)

What is the medication of choice today? Vodka?

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:28 PM

LOL, fc...self-medicate away. Have a few for me while you're at it -- I can't and wish I could (too many medications to do so safely). And I hope your little illness goes away. :-)

[ fc ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:28 PM

Tex, my sister battled vertigo from inner ear problems for years, so I know how awful it can be.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:30 PM

TG, keeping my hands busy is why I have another Internet browser page open...checking e-mails and my other daily essentials and such.

[ fc ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:30 PM

I'm taking it easy cause I'm not feeling so great, so just beer today.

[ Ian ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:36 PM

i was battling a little bit of beer vertigo earlier but i sweated it out in the 96 degree plus heat in hartford earlier :D.

It's about 10 degrees cooler here on the shoreline of ct.

[ fc ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:37 PM

Hartford! So you visited the Big City for a a taste of the fast life.

[ Ian ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:39 PM

actually fc i was in our hometown today for the Newington Lacrosse youth day. Some of my friends played in the alumni game at 2 PM. and i have no idea how the hell they played in that heat. someone said it was about 110 degrees on the field.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:40 PM

Hi Ian! (waving)

[ Ian ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:40 PM

my friends were playing, i was on the sidelines drinking beer. i mean coaching.

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:42 PM

JD!!!

Go ahead, fc - I know you wanna call him a delicate flower. ;)

[ fc ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:42 PM

JD!!! He is on fire!

[ Jessi ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:42 PM

JD DREW is freaking HOT

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:42 PM

Sizzling! Yeah, JD!!!

[ Ellen ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:43 PM

Woot! JD!

[ fc ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:43 PM

Naaah, no teasing JD today. Today he's MY BOY.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:44 PM

Tell ya what...JD's heroics are rapidly moving him up the list towards baseball boyfriend status. Dayummmm!

[ fc ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:44 PM

Ian, my favorite is L"ife. Be In It!" day.
I mean, if you have to try to convince people...

[ Ian ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:46 PM

the scary part is that they still do that. They had some kind of safety day at mill pond because when i was leaving my mom's work they were landing a helicopter on the baseball field there.

[ Ian ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:47 PM

nice thing about being outside today is that my tan is back. :D

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:52 PM

That sounded like a pretty DP on WRKO...

[ fc ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:53 PM

Nice DP!

And I guarantee you that that little girl in the Ortiz shirt didn't belong in that seat.

[ fc ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:56 PM

WTF??? Cut to commercial in the middle of an at bat??

[ Ellen ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:57 PM

Looks like we missed a nice hit.

[ fc ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:57 PM

It was Trish. She broke into the control room.

[ Ian ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:58 PM

the dueling knuckleballers

[ Ian ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:59 PM

poor water coolers. someone should tell Zambrano they didn't do anything wrong

[ fc ] says:
on June 7, 2008 5:59 PM

Let's have Manny set him sytraight.

[ Ian ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:01 PM

pasta hut sounds good

[ fc ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:03 PM

Hey look, it's Mikey!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:08 PM

Looks like our middle infield is keeping busy today!

[ Liza ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:10 PM

Hey guys. I couldn't watch the last four innings--what'd JD do now?

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:11 PM

He homered in the 6th, Liza.

[ Liza ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:12 PM

Ooh, good. He's just crazy lately.

I'm sorry I missed knuckeball-vs-knuckleball, too...

[ fc ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:13 PM

JD also tripled in the 1st and Manny drove him home.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:14 PM

Yeah, Lugie!!!

[ Liza ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:14 PM

I saw up through the fourth. That was Ichiro's miscue, right?

C'mon JD!

[ Liza ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:15 PM

YESSS!

[ Ian ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:15 PM

jdddddddd

[ Ellen ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:15 PM

JD is sooo goooood!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:15 PM

YAY bats!

[ fc ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:16 PM

Sorry Liza, I'm just loving going on about JD's awesomeness now that he's giving me the opportunity. Even if he is a fragile flower. ;)

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:16 PM

I'm sitting here with my arms in the classic Manny "V" position...

[ fc ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:17 PM

ecl: Jazz hands. Don't forget the jazz hands.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:17 PM

fc, I'm even finding JD sort of attractive for the very first time (I normally go for the swarthy look), so he MUST be being awesome!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:18 PM

fc: I have no earthly idea what "jazz hands" are, actually. =/

[ fc ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:19 PM

ecl, are you kidding me? JD is a total cutie. Always has been, just under the radar. He's on my short list of...well,never mind.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:19 PM

Lowded for Lowell...

[ Liza ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:19 PM

Let's hope Jacoby doesn't have to slide headfirst anytime soon.

[ Ellen ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:20 PM

God I just love Jacoby's forearm.

[ Liza ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:20 PM

YESSS

[ Ian ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:21 PM

mike lowell

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:21 PM

fc, I just go for a different type, that's all! Most of the guys who turn my head have a bit more melanin than JD. But he's not bad-looking at all. Neither is Casey. Neither is Cash.

LOL about "never mind." I've got a filthy mind myself.

Doesn't this feel good?

[ Ian ] says:

jazz hands are like spirit fingers

[ Ian ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:22 PM

so good so good

[ ecl1958 ] says:

I'm surprised that Jacoby didn't score from first, actually. But a 2-run double is exquisite!

And I finally Googled jazz hands, so now I know what you're talking about.

Ian, the article I read did mention spirit fingers, yes. Had never heard that term before. Guess I haven't lived!

[ jules ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:24 PM

Man, i wish I had this game on TV.

[ fc ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:25 PM

Youk's jersey is either buttoned wrong or he's undone the top button.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:25 PM

jules, I will be taking your suggestion to e-mail and call Fox about not carrying this one.

[ fc ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:25 PM

And the look appears to be working for him!

[ Ian ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:26 PM

top button looks undone

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:26 PM

WOOHOOOO!!!! Youk!

[ jules ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:26 PM

YOUUUUUUUK!

I gave up on working today--need a break. I'll pay for it tomorrow, tho.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:27 PM

I'm not working but have a bunch of piddly stuff to do, so I'm glad the games are early this weekend so I have my evenings free.

[ jules ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:28 PM

ecl, it's frustrating, if Fox wants to broadcast a game (Dodgers/Cubs), fine, but by showing other games regionally, it makes it impossible for us to see it. I know...whine!

[ Ian ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:28 PM

papelbuns mopping up today

[ jules ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:30 PM

ohhhhhhh...Papelbon is in.

Jacoby in as DH.

[ fc ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:31 PM

Um...E3?

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:32 PM

Well, that was a nice streak while it lasted.

[ Ellen ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:32 PM

Wow. I'm sad about the E3.

[ fc ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:33 PM

It was coming. Pressure off. He's still awesome.

[ jules ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:33 PM

Youk got an error?

[ Ian ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:33 PM

big brown lost

[ Ellen ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:34 PM

Bummer.

[ jules ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:35 PM

Wow, Ian. I forgot the race was today. That's too bad.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:36 PM

jules, it wouldn't have been such a disappointment if mlb.com didn't have this game listed on the schedule as being on FOX. I wish they had specified that it was regional. At least I wouldn't have had that unhappy surprise a few hours ago when I turned on my TV and found a different game on. Not that I have anything against the Cubs or Dodgers...actually I enjoy the Cubs, they're on TV here regularly, but that's not what I wanted to watch.

[ fc ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:36 PM

Yes, Youk got an error.
Note that the errorless streak was at first base, in the regular season. During that streak he's had both errors at 3rd and an error at 1st in the post season.

You know, as unfortunate as that was, a little humbling can sometimes do some good. And you guys know I say that with love!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:37 PM

fc, maybe it'll take a teensy-weensy bit of pressure off him so he won't be so quick to throw stuff in the dugout, etc.

[ jules ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:40 PM

Thanks for the info. He had a close call last night, but they charged the E to Mikey. I think fc might have a good point. He needs to loosen up, just a touch.

[ fc ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:41 PM

Yahooooo! I officially declare yesterday's game an aberration.

[ jules ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:42 PM

GAME!

See y'all tomorrow.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:42 PM

YAY! Great job by everyone today.

[ fc ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:44 PM

Enjoy tomorrow's game. I won't be online because I'll be with the boys at Fenway!

[ ecl1958 ] says:

Have a *wonderful* time, fc -- wish I could be there!

[ Ian ] says:
on June 7, 2008 6:46 PM

[ fc ] says:
