Hey all...yes, it's good to be home, although Ian was a wonderful host last night.
Thought I'd be missing the beginning of this game for a haircut, but my back dictated otherwise. I'm sure Ian can relate to this predicament (leaning back against hot pack).
Thanks jules! It's just extra cranky today...happens now and then.
And I would have to say that only the most vitriolic Yankees partisans could do anything other than love Manny. What's not to love? Although I must admit I'm not fond of his "cow chewing cud" thing, LOL.
jules they showed that montage last night plus another one set to linkin park. I'm just glad they showed the manny being manny one again because the one i have in my post was all black & white at times.
It is nice to have a home for this one. I didn't know what to do with myself after Manny's 500th as I needed to talk to someone but nobody in my house wanted to talk!
nj, did you try rebooting? (I know that's pretty much a given, but just in case)...
Ian, I was multitasking during the latter part of last night's game and got distracted enough to miss exactly what happened with Papi that hurt his wrist. Can you elucidate please?
And yes, there's noplace like home (clicking heels three times)...
Of course--TG's absolutely fantastic and I love this site, that goes without saying. But I was saying thank you for putting up with us for that one night as well.
I know, Jessi, I was just thinking how speedy we must be. I'm watching on gameday, but I can only imagine.
Haha, Ian, I like the riddles. But really, the last 4 hitters (and Jacoby) all have first names that start with a J.
I finally got MLB Audio to work! (After talking to MLB Customer Service for almost 40 minutes...)
I guess MLB was just having some problems with IE7, so now I'm using FireFox. It might take a little while to get used to, but it seems to be basically the same as IE.
Ian, I guess I just use IE because that's what everyone else I know seems to use, but FF actually seems pretty cool. I think I might stay with this!
Random question, Ian: What character encoding/text size do you use? Some text (such as this page) look a little distorted, but maybe I'm just not used to it yet...
nj - i use a default font of times new roman size 16 pt
language is english-united states.
it looks different. it will take some time to get used to. waht i like is the bookmark toolbar so i dont have to go the bookmarks themself. I can just click the icon above.
nj i can tell you that my site looks a little different in FF than it does in IE. when someone tells me they have a problem with my site, that's about the only time i use IE
Ian, I think I'm already used to it a little bit more. The spell check thing is pretty cool. I made the text size larger, so now it's a bit easier to read because the letters aren't all smushed together. Thanks for your help up there and for all of your videos!
Ian, so much coverage, so little time. I can't stop reading/watching. I just discovered a nice essay on Cursed to First that folks may want to check out.
Your computer came through in the clutch...I just have a plethora of e-mails and comments and replies and etc., and got a late start on the day so haven't gotten very far with responding or acting on them.
Nice work, Runslikedeer...too bad your effort was wasted.
Trivia that I just learned per Joe C: Markakis and Hansen are both natives of Glen Cove, LI, same as me. Although I got there a little bit ahead of them. ;-)
Liza, I just remembered something I wanted to show you. You've probably seen it, but it combines two of the items on your birthday wish list, so I'm sure you wouldn't mind reading/looking at it again...
Manny might have his ball back, but teammate Julio Lugo has the bat that Ramirez hit the homer with.
Not blanket weather here either, Liza. Mid-70s and a tad humid.
Just saw this cuteness on Projo: "Ramirez promised Lugo the bat a while ago, and before anyone could talk to Lugo he placed the bat in a white sanitary sock, tied it up and scooted out of the clubhouse. " (picturing 'lil Lugie sprinting wildly away from media throng seeking THE BAT)
I didn't see her... but hey, that kid batting now is pretty cute ;D
Also, can I just point out? Being a grammar freak, the fact that MLB.com shop wrote "you're favorite team's logo" makes me cringe. Honestly. YOUR, not YOU'RE. (/serious pet peeve)
Cool, Ian, you're running? If Liza's ineligible, I probably can't vote, either, but what site do you vote at? I could probably convince my parents to vote...
I just realized I completely misinterpreted that. I thought you were running as Red Sox Nation governor.
Oops. Completely disregard everything I said, except that part about it being cool.
Yep, Avery, there's a link there. If my brain was functioning properly, I would have noticed that five minutes ago before I had an imaginary conversation with myself...
NJ i got ya beat. I went to "bed" at 6 AM. I was helping a plugin developer fix one of the plugins i was using on my site. i had to take it down for now though until he fixes it again. I love being a test dummy.
Ecl - Ugh, that's obnoxious. I just looked at the "sent" folder and it's weird. Sorry. And I don't have the URLs saved. I suppose you could Google them?
That's probably the most annoying commercial ever, ECL! It probably seems like that because we hear it during almost every single break of every single game.
ONE EIGHT HUNDRED FIFTY FOUR GIANT!!
The worst part is that the Viva Viagara commercials are SO CATCHY. I have to mute the TV when they come on so I don't have the jingle stuck in my head for hours on end afterward.

Whoa, this is up really early.
Hi, if anyone else is here!
