Ecl, he fouled a ball off his shin, right above his leg protector (just below the knee). He rolled around on the ground, obviously in pain, tried to walk it off, and couldn't. It looked really, really bad.
ECL, from the Globe's Extra Bases blog: "Orioles first baseman Kevin Millar came out of the game in the second inning after fouling a pitch off his left knee. Millar was checked out and took a few long strides before being replaced by Oscar Salazar, who assumed Millar's at-bat and grounded out to third."
How weird...Gameday just posted, as an aside, in the text for the fourth inning, the details of the injury. All the great minds must be thinking alike.
Argh. I got picked to get the chance to buy tickets for NH day on the 22nd and I forgot to get to the virtual waiting room right at noon today and the only choice that was left was bleachers by the time I remembered. So no.
LOL Liza...I think I'd make his hair slightly lighter shade of brown if I were in charge of the color. Maybe medium brown with slightly sun-streaked highlights...
LOL Liza...he figured the game's almost over and we have a decent lead, he may as well make one of his patented moves. At least it didn't come back to hurt us...
I actually have to go to bed pretty soon -- have an early appointment. So I'm out. Have a great evening, y'all, and I'll see you tomorrow for some Friday night fun.
Holy cow, everyone gone already? I went to this one as a spur-of-the-moment thing with a coworker, got seats from the Sox, what a fun game, love those Mikey Lowell grand slams.

I already said this over at Ian's, but that Millar foul? OW.
Also, Ian, didja see? There's a NESN chat with Heidi tomorrow.
