Hey y'all...ha haaahhh...I may just have the first post today! I'm heading to the other room to watch the game on TV! (does happy dance). Best for me to watch the game lying down anyway -- these antibiotics have me pretty walloped.
Enjoy the game, everyone. I'll drop in during commercials and pitching changes and such. :-D
james, I often get regional games instead of the Sox when they're on Fox. The first thing I did when I saw the game was on Fox was to make sure the Dodgers or Giants weren't playing. I'm so happy to see the Sox on Fox!
Here's my heirarchy, if all of these teams were playing at the same time, who I'd watch:
Texas Longhorns football (my alma mater)
Red Sox
Texas Longhorns baseball
Chicago Cubs
Philadelphia Phillies
Texas Longhorns basketball
any kind of college football
Dallas Cowboys
any kind of college baseball
any kind of baseball
any kind of college basketball
golf
any kind of NBA
any kind of hockey
yea i figured i'd get the phils game when i saw they were on. oh well, phils arent bad to watch maybe they'll put up 20 again today! and gametrac just lagged out i still dont see the run up.
All FOX Games are blacked out on MLB.tv as well as ESPN Sunday games.
Due to Major League Baseball national exclusivities, each Saturday until 7:00 PM EST (beginning May 17, 2008 and continuing for remaining Saturdays during the regular season) and each Sunday night (for games that begin after 5:00 PM EST), all scheduled webcasts of games played within such time period will be blacked out.
(I LOVE JASON CASTRO. Strike-em-out, throw-em-out at first = yes.)
Ecl, it's because Tek, for all his awesomeness, has trouble catching the knuckler. Cash has crazy good hand-eye coordination, so he has an easier time.
fc, I was wondering the same thing. Figured it's just another of those obscure baseball rules that I've never learned about. Would be curious to know the answer to that question.
A former federal prosecutor tells the New York Daily News that the evidence against Roger Clemens – testimony from Andy Pettitte and Brian McNamee, as well as the bloody gauze pads, used syringes and steroid vials McNamee turned over to authorities in January – is more than enough to indict Clemens.
It takes almost nothing to get an indictment- so I don't know why the Daily News is acting like this is big news. But no prosecutor is going to take this particular case to a grand jury without being confident of enough evidence to win a CONVICTION.
The White Sox set off fireworks for everyone HR, too.
The Astros have a giant train that runs along the outfield wall.
The Phillies' giant Liberty Bell rings back and forth.
Liza, I was hoping that Aardsma would get up in the bullpen so I could hear Remy say his name, although of course, I know exactly how it would sound with that accent. Kind of like my coworker from Boston who talks about her "dohr-tah."
I wish we could just go from the starter to Papelbon, and skip the middle. It would make my day better.
Also what is up with the fireworks every time the Reds score a home run? Imagine if the Sox did that in Boston? A lot of pollution.
Normally, I'd say he'd be back out in the 10th. But he looks really deflated. Still, maybe he can catch his breath, and then he'll be back out breathing fire.
You know, baseball gods, when I said earlier that I wanted JD to homer and then go into extra innings so he could hit for the cycle, I meant the latter IF the former happened.
Bethie, I was wondering the same thing. Ian informed me yesterday that I am in the Greenville market, so it depends what game is assigned to that market by FOX. You're, of course, in the Charlotte market so your selection may vary...
Once in a college class, my exasperated professor asked, "Don't you guys know what a rhetorical question is?"
In unison, the entire class replied, "No."
