Ah, what's not to love about Tek!?! "The camo was real fun!"
This in response to Watney's question (NESN) on the special Catchers gear he'll be wearing this Father's Day.

Hi all...something is seriously wrong with my cable at the moment. I had on TBS and after Sleepless in Seattle they indicated that the game was next...and now what is showing on TBS but CNN Headline News (I checked to see if the channels somehow were reversed and Headline News is also in its customary spot). Off to call my cable company and raise Cain. :-(
We just got home from church and put the game on just in time to see Ellsbury score.
Happy Father's Day to all the dads. God bless you!
My late father is who gave me my love for baseball by taking my brother and I to see the Giants play. I remember learning everything from how to score games to ticking off the fans by cheering for the Dodgers ;-). Yeah, i learned to be a smart ass from my Dad, too. I miss you Dad.
So, after trying to sell me bundled telephone service (SHUT UP I WANT MY BALL GAME), the customer service agent has sent a signal to my cable box. If I don't get TBS back by 2:00 I'm supposed to call them back. Grrrr...have never had this channel bleed in 10+ years with this cable company. It happened at a really. bad. time.
ecl...ugh! I feel for you. That would drive me crazy. I have so little patience for poor customer service, especially when they're trying to sell me something.
WRKO always lags way behind...even worse than Gameday. Sometimes you guys are talking about a play and it's already up on Gameday and WRKO is still on the previous batter!
Okay, this is weird...the game is on Fox Sports South. Guess I'll go watch it, and call the cable company after the game if I still have Headline News on the TBS channel!
Ellen, Fox Sports had something else listed for this time slot. I'm wondering if the channel switch is a systemwide problem and my cable provider pulled in the Fox Sports feed from Cincinnati because TBS was acting up. We get lots of Midwestern games down here, so it makes sense and hey, I'll take it. Anything to see the game! I don't watch TBS except for games, so fixing the problem can wait.
Maybe Bailey just doesn't want Dusty Baker to blow out his arm. So he sucks on purpose, knowing he will get taken out early, and hoping he will get traded.
ecl, I managed to find a way to get the live feed at work, and it's showing on FSN for me too. So it's not just you, apparently they have it all kinds of screwed up in NC. Aren't we special? :)
And as for Drew - :) :) :)
I kind of wish I got a Drew jersey last year so I could still be wearing it this year and not seem like a JD bandwagon jumper.
Drew is currently listed at #8 BA in MLB. That was before today, though, as he was at .320 on the list and is now at .323. So he could move up a bit on the list today...
I remember someone on the T laughing at some other guy with a #7 jersey and saying that he probably tells people it's a Nixon. Well, harharhar, look who's probably laughing now.
He was a Mets fan when I was a kid, but he lives close to Tampa now and sees a lot of AL ball. It's like that line in "City Slickers"--when we couldn't talk about anything else we could talk about baseball. My mom died when I was a kid so he's been my only parent for a while. We've had our issues, but he's my dad and I love him EVEN IF HE'S A SOX FAN NOW. :D
Trish and jules, you are lucky to have immediate family who love baseball. My sis and BIL pay it cursory attention, and my mom sometimes enjoys good sportswriting when I send it to her, but just as often the reaction is a yawn or "that's niiiiiice." Dad couldn't have cared less about sports.
My Mom is a huge sports freak. She loves NASCAR (sport????). She and my Dad (technically step-dad, but he's been my Dad for over 30 years) love coming over to watch sports on our big HD tv.
I'm off again. Time to clean the floors. oh joy ;-)
My family baseball talk mostly includes my cousins. The ones in NY are mostly Yankees partisans, which makes discussions a bit dicey. My phys ed teacher cousin in Houston is much more nonpartisan, although he has that "guy" perspective of stats, scores and little else. But at least they understand...
my parents came over to this country when they were in their early 30s, so I had to start to baseball watching tradition. my parents, especially my dad, have become hooked.
Did anyone else here see the pic awhile back of Lugo and Pedie off field? Pedie looked just fine in his black T-shirt. Lugo was wearing a polo shirt with wide horizontal stripes in tan (fine), brown (also fine), and...bright pink. WTF? Who is his fashion advisor?
Trish, our clinical director wears pink dress shirts anbd looks just fine in them. But he's Northern European, not caramel Latin-American. That skin tone and pink are totally horrible together!
Trish -- they were talking about his brash cockiness when he was a young pup with the Marlins in the WS, and how he told the guys that if they just got him ONE run, he would win the game. Etc etc etc. They went on about "young Josh" for awhile there.
Oh, yeah--WHEN HE WAS BEATING THE SNOT OUT OF MY YANKEES. If I ever meet Josh, I'll say "I love you now, but I may or may not apologize for calling you a douchebag punk during the 2003 WS."
