I didn't see the montage--was finishing cleaning the kitchen. It sounded like something about a bad day? Way to keep it positive, NESN.
I can get used to this west coast time--dinner: done. dishes: done. wine poured: done. Time to sit down and watch the game. I'm hoping for some serious Mariner ass-whopin'.
Hey all...just dropping by for a little while before bed. Stayed up late last night and will be a mess if I'm not a good girl tonight, but maybe once through the order or something...
7:00 pm is too early - I'm lucky if I make it home from work by 7:30 or 8. 8:30 would be early enough to avoid falling asleep, but late enough to actually, you know, allow me to watch.
i was kidding liza. there was no need for DO to mention twice that he was from Worcester but then again that's why he's announcer boy and i'm here on my couch.
"Yesterday when I played, inside my head I said 'I want to go home quickly,' and I swung and I was able to get a hit because I wanted to go home. Today I thought, 'I want to hurry up and get something to eat,' and I swung and got a hit today."
"The ball became the same color as the sky. So, I wasn't able to see it ... I was sending mental signals for the ball not to come my way, because during that time of day it's impossible for me to see the ball so I lacked mental signals. I lacked in that area. Usually, I don't send mental signals. So, because this is the first time, I thought, please don't come my way."
On his personal battles with Dice-K: "I hope he arouses the fire that's dormant in the innermost recesses of my soul. I plan to face him with the zeal of a challenger."
Ells has a weird swing--that's okay with me, but the one thing that really bugs me is the way he buckles his right ankle in his follow-through. He doesn't do it all the time, but when he does, it takes away a lot of his power.
"Tiger is a great golfer, but when you say athlete, I think of Carl Lewis. When you talk about golfers or race-car drivers, I don't want to see them run. It's the same if you were to meet a beautiful girl and go bowling. If she's an ugly bowler, you are going to be disappointed."
I lied. I can't believe I forgot this quote, which (after my experiences during the ALCS last year) I actually had taped up on my mirror at home.
"To tell the truth, I'm not excited to go to Cleveland, but we have to. If I ever saw myself saying I'm excited going to Cleveland, I'd punch myself in the face, because I'm lying."
My favorite: "Playing on this team and seeing what is happening around me, I feel that something is beginning to fall apart. But, if I was not in this situation, and I was objectively watching what just happened this week, I would probably be drinking a lot of beers and brewing it."
"Ben Broussard, who now plays for the Yankees’ Class AAA team, got more All-Star votes than Rays catcher Dioner Navarro, who actually made the team as a reserve. Broussard got 535,177 votes, Navarro 533,276."
Okay, y'all, I'm trying to get a decent night's sleep so am going to bow out for the evening. Will poke my head in for awhile tomorrow. Enjoy the rest of the game, and GO SOX!
Aww thanks, man. Propers are the best. I wish I could make it to Fenway so I could dress as Madonna...not a big fan of girly clothing, but for a laugh I'll make the sacrifice.
I have been working evenings for so long, however I have to work tomorrow daytime, should be fun. I already set my coffee timer, I still have to make lunch.
I have to work tomorrow...I work at a Subway by the highway which is the gateway to the beaches here. It's a very surprisingly weather dependent gig. It's not so bad it can just be annoying sometimes. I just need to stuff my face before I head into work or I'll be eating everything in sight(I like to limit myself to a bag of chips and a soda...maybe 2 bags if I get ripped off on chip amount). I think I may have to get an energy drink.

that was a strange montage. Now time to figure out the band.
