KNUCKLEBALL!

[ Ian ] says:
on July 22, 2008 9:54 PM

For those of you attending the game on Friday night against the Yankees, the pitching matchup will be Joba Chamberlain vs Josh Beckett.

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on July 22, 2008 9:56 PM

That sounds boring.

[ Erin ] says:
on July 22, 2008 9:56 PM

Hey everyone sorry if I've been gone for the past few days. I saw both Mamma Mia and The Dark Knight over the weekend and was in Boston yesterday so I haven't been watching any baseball for the past few days.

Everyone should see Dark Knight because its awesome on so many levels

Ian- Chamberlain and Beckett? That sounds awesome

[ Ian ] says:
on July 22, 2008 9:57 PM

myself I'm more excited for the Lester vs Ponson matchup on sunday

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on July 22, 2008 9:59 PM

Over/under on how many small animals Ponson eats during the game. I'll set the line at 12.

And speaking of Dark Knight, how's about Mr. Christian Bale getting busted in London?

[ Meghan ] says:
on July 22, 2008 9:59 PM

I got home at 8pm and then baked muffins because I was so bored. Now I have 11 muffins and don't know what to do with them. Baseball needs to be earlier!

Hopefully the games this weekend go well. Being in third after the ASG is never a good thing, so hopefully it can be avoided...

[ Ian ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:01 PM

Send some this way Meghan, i'm starving.

[ Ian ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:02 PM

it is going be weird seeing our hitters try to hit the knuckleball.

[ fc ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:04 PM

Evening, folks. Sorry, I don't have anything with me, I didn't know we were bringing refreshments.

[ Ian ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:05 PM

just your presence is good enough fc. just wouldn't be the same without you

[ fc ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:07 PM

Well after tonight you'll have to struggle through until next week without me cause I'll be splitting my game time between watching at a baaaah and hanging at Fenway.

[ Ian ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:09 PM

Rays lost tonight, skanks about to win

[ Liza ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:09 PM

So I went to the Lowell game today... too bad it was raining buckets by the fourth.

[ Meghan ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:12 PM

I kinda wish Wake was pitching today. Two knucklers facing each other probably doesn't happen too often.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:12 PM

fc, care for a beer? :::does the thousand mile toss:::

[ jules ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:13 PM

Hi Y'all!

Weird facing a knuckleballer.

I'm going to be in mourning on Friday. *I* was supposed to be at that game--had the tickets in my hands! But, our plans changed. oh well.

It's been an epic day. Started with my car getting broken into and I still have work to do. never mind me, I'm in full whine mode ;-).

Go Sox!

[ Erin ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:13 PM

Drew!

[ fc ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:13 PM

DREWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

[ Liza ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:13 PM

BOOM. That was so not coming back.

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:14 PM

I say this with all seriousness.

JD Drew: will you marry me?

[ Ian ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:14 PM

I thought Ichiro was going to steal that one away from Drew

[ jules ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:14 PM

DREWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!

Oh, on a happy note...my daughter is doing the dishes and I have the game on with a nice glass of cabernet. That's awesome.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:14 PM

Awww, you guys spoiled the surprise for me, with my radio delay. LOL! Yay JD!

[ Ian ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:15 PM

Hands Jules some cheese for her whine....so juvenile i know. :D

[ fc ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:15 PM

Thanks, ecl - plenty of beer here but I'm laying off tonight.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:15 PM

jules, I just finished what dishes I'm going to do tonight, and I'm working on a bottle of Sam Adams Honey Porter.

[ jules ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:16 PM

LOL, Ian.

;-)

[ Bethie ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:16 PM

Pssst......ecl.

Turn on Mlbtv. :)

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:17 PM

I usually lay off, fc, but it's been a hot day and I'm celebrating something really good that happened for one of my favorite family members, so may as well enjoy a beer for a change.

[ jules ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:17 PM

ecl, that sounds good, too. I like wine more than beer, but will have a beer at a game--especially if I can track down the Sam Adams.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:19 PM

I used to like wine better, jules, but now it irritates my tummy. Same with beer, but I can handle it a little bit better as long as I take it easy.

[ jules ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:19 PM

well, crap. I don't have the documents I need to work, so I guess I'll just have to watch the game ;-).

[ Kate ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:19 PM

A nasty storm passed through here and I was without power for more than an hour. Just now got it back. Blah.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:21 PM

I was afraid that would be the case for me here, Kate, but fortunately the heavy weather has just made a big circle around the mountains. Just looked at the radar and it looks like poor Bethie could be in for it.

[ Bethie ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:22 PM

Been storming for 2 hours now. But the internet is working so I can watch baseball.

As long as it stays that way, I'm happy.

[ Kate ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:22 PM

Ah. Where are you? I'm in (lame) West Virginia.

[ Liza ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:24 PM

It sure was storming in Lowell. :P

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:25 PM

Really, Kate? I love West Virginia! Have spent some time traveling in the southern coalfields and at the fiddle convention at Clifftop (NE of the New River Gorge Bridge by an hour or so).

I'm in Asheville, NC.

Bethie, I was worried that my computer would get fried if that mess came through here. :::keeping fingers crossed for you and me both:::

[ Bethie ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:25 PM

Ibanez has about the weirdest at bat stance I have seen in a while.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:27 PM

Whoops, forgot to ask, Kate, what part of WV?

[ fc ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:28 PM

Nice inning.

[ Ian ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:28 PM

Dice-KK in the house tonight

[ Karen ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:29 PM

I'm here now. Had to shower before game time.

[ Kate ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:30 PM

I live in a small town right in the middle of WV. It's so boring here. :P I hate it.

I like NC... lived outside of Raleigh for a couple years.

[ Liza ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:31 PM

Jeeed!

[ fc ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:33 PM

Well how about that. The Dynamic Duo of Tek and Jed.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:35 PM

True, Karen, I can imagine that in central WV there's not much to do for folks who are used to the hustle and bustle of a good-sized place like Raleigh. If you're not from there it probably seems pretty dreary.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:39 PM

That doesn't sound like fun...a bloody mess.

[ Kate ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:39 PM

Yeah.

... Last month I went to Boston for the first time and now I am dying to move there. I loved everything about it. My mom and I are trying to convince my dad to search for a job there. Haha. :)

oh yeah I forgot to mention I'm probably the youngest person on here -- only 16. Bleh.

[ Ian ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:39 PM

it's just a flesh wound

[ Ian ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:40 PM

nope liza's got you beat. she's the youngen of the group

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:41 PM

Kate, I'm not sure about this particular moment, but there are people who hang out here who are younger than 16. Me, I'm the oldest. Will be 50 in a couple of months.

Maybe you can start looking into colleges in Boston. :)

Okay, JD, your turn again...

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:41 PM

JD - I rescind my proposal.

[ Kate ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:42 PM

Monty Python!! *loves*

Ha, cool. 2nd youngest, then!

[ Liza ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:42 PM

Ian's right. I'm only 15. What an honor. :P

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:42 PM

Ian, isn't there someone who stops by from time to time who is 14? Haven't seen them in awhile, but yeah...

Awww, JD....

[ fc ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:42 PM

JD, I'll still have you.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:43 PM

Kate may be only 15 but is wise beyond her years. :)

[ Kate ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:43 PM

That's what I've been thinking about doing, ecl. Although of course nothing is set in stone.

[ fc ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:43 PM

I believe none other than "bloodandwhiskey" is 14 - and surely has seen neither.

Emotionally, I'm 5.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:44 PM

Ian, spelling note: It's young'un.

[ Kate ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:45 PM

Alright if you get JD can I have Stephen

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:45 PM

Yes, fc, it was b&w. Ya never know...I got drunk when I was 13 (hides head in shame). And I thought I was the one who could lay claim to being 5 emotionally. Glad to know it's not just me.

[ Liza ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:47 PM

DaisuKKKe

Seriously, if you guys are 5 emotionally, I must be about 2.

[ jules ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:48 PM

ecl, you've got me beat--I just turned 40. goodness!

My hubby and I want to send out daughter to college in Boston so she'll be back east and make it easier to retire to New England.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:48 PM

What does that make Ian?

~~~~~~~flees
[ Kate ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:49 PM
A few days ago I found out that I get most Cubs and White Sox games, which I find really strange.
So I'm watching the Cubs @ Dbacks game. :D
[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:50 PM
Congratulations, jules! Since 40 is the new 30, you've got nothing to worry about.
I've been thinking of relocating too, perhaps back up Northeast, but to quote Kate, nothing is set in stone. It's just a pipe dream at this point.
[ Ian ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:50 PM
I'm still an infant then
[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:51 PM
Kate, you must get WGN on cable too? Same here. It is odd. The good news is that it gives us a couple of extra Red Sox games on TV when they play the White Sox later this season.
[ Kate ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:53 PM
Yep, WGN.
[ Karen ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:53 PM
Oddly enough we have a Chicago channel, so I get all Chicago games.
[ Kate ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:54 PM
Hm.
Where do you live, Karen?
[ Erin ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:55 PM
I thought 40 was the new 20? By that logic I'm -1.
[ Meghan ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:55 PM
Ha, another MA-born, FL-educated person!
[ jules ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:55 PM
Thanks, ecl!
[ jenny again ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:56 PM
dice-KKKKK! (!!!!!!!!!!)
[ Liza ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:57 PM
LAHAIR! Hey, thanks, buddy.
I love Jed Lowrie. Just putting that out there.
[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:57 PM
I'm not sure why we get WGN in Western NC, but for you in central WV...well, it's pretty close to Ohio and is thus on the verge of the Midwest. That doesn't make it any closer to Chicago, of course, but maybe it's a regional thing, the big "superstation."
[ mhcranberry ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:57 PM
hey everyone... what's shakin?
[ fc ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:58 PM
Well look what the cat dragged in.
[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:58 PM
If 40 is the new 20, does that mean I can claim 30 on my next birthday? Gray hair and all?
[ Kate ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:58 PM
Eh.. I guess, ecl.
Who knows.
[ mhcranberry ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:59 PM
Thanks fc, glad to get such an enthusiastic welcome.
[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:59 PM
Hey, it's the MPHster!
[ mhcranberry ] says:
on July 22, 2008 10:59 PM
THANK YOU ECL!
I have to order new business cards...
[ ecl1958 ] says:
Oh no, it's the trains...
[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:00 PM
[ Ian ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:00 PM
[ Karen ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:00 PM
I live in Florida.
[ Texas Gal ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:01 PM
fc - the one-woman welcoming committee.
[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:01 PM
Well, I've actually been to Florida, I think two or three times, but the last time was...in college?
[ mhcranberry ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:01 PM
I do, but I'm wondering how you pronounce MPHster?
Em-phester?
[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:04 PM
Not sure, mh! How about Mmmph-ster? And your new business cards could be a play on "miles per hour" and have a speedy design!
[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:05 PM
Well, that was quick. I didn't even have time to register that we were in the next half inning. Must be the beer.
[ fc ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:06 PM
PERFORMANCE!
I like it.
[ Liza ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:12 PM
Okay, Dice-K. Live up to your name. And, for the record, your name isn't Dice-BB or Dice-H.
[ Meghan ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:12 PM
Phew, I was starting to wonder where the real Dice-K was.
[ fc ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:13 PM
Houdini-K
[ mhcranberry ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:13 PM
Wow.
Love that Dusty just smirked after turning a DP.
I love what a shithead he is.
[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:15 PM
Hey, but his wife loves him!
[ Liza ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:15 PM
Yay Jacoby!
[ Meghan ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:15 PM
Ellsbury- Do that more!
[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:16 PM
Yeah really, Meghan!
[ mhcranberry ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:17 PM
No, i'm not joking. I genuinely love what a shithead he is.
(reminds me of myself at his age)
(last year)
[ Liza ] says:
Kelli Pedroia got melanoma from going to tanning booths... and then kept going back.
But Dustin sure can hit.
[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:18 PM
:::jumping up and down with glee:::
[ Kate ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:19 PM
Man.
I love Dustin.
[ Kate ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:20 PM
And JD but not as much~
[ Texas Gal ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:20 PM
Manny is such a slouch. TRADE HIM.
[ Liza ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:20 PM
It is really nice to have offense.
[ mhcranberry ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:20 PM
Liza--
re: kelli-- it's called dependency.
it's like people who absolutely have to exercise every day.
or how fc feels about youk.
it's not an issue of character or personality or intelligence.
[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:21 PM
I love that Manny's BA has climbed back above .300.
[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:22 PM
Oh golly, I didn't know that Kelli P. was still going to tanning booths. As far as I knew she was campaigning for skin protection, etc.
[ mhcranberry ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:23 PM
No, she doesn't go anymore.
But she did have to literally break the habit.
[ Liza ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:23 PM
Well, she's not going now--she used to, though, and did for a while even after getting melanoma. Now she's very active against it, as Ecl pointed out.
[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:23 PM
Oh, this is epic!!!
[ Karen ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:24 PM
Loving this game so far.
[ fc ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:24 PM
1.AFAIK, Kelli gave up tanning.
2. This game is getting fun.
3. must watch this at-bat
[ Meghan ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:25 PM
She isn't going any more, however, she did go several times AFTER getting melanoma when she was 18 (or 19?). Tanning booths should, at the very least, be under some sort of regulation. And salons shouldn't be allowed to market them as being "healthy" for you because they help you synthesize vitamin D. (I did melanoma research for a few years, I gotta say something:-P).
[ Texas Gal ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:25 PM
I honestly could not give a flying poo what Manny's BA is, so long as his OPS is .925+.
[ Kate ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:26 PM
Intentional walks suck.
[ mhcranberry ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:26 PM
fc, thank you for such an organized summary of your thoughts. I would appreciate such outlines in the future as well, if at all possible.
[ Kate ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:27 PM
C'mon, Jedi.
MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU.
[ Karen ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:27 PM
I have never gone to a tanning booth. I did spray tan only. Although when I was younger I got burned many times. After watching my dad get at least one skin cancer removed each month I use lots of sun screen. I burn just standing out in the sun for 10 minutes.
[ Liza ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:27 PM
Jed!
[ Kate ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:28 PM
Alright. Sac fly is better than nothing.
[ mhcranberry ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:28 PM
Love hearing the sounds of Manny's return to the dugout there. Thanks for leaving the mics on, NESN! (more please? okay, i know it wouldn't pass FCC muster)
[ Karen ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:30 PM
I miss Nesn.
[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:30 PM
I didn't have the benefit of seeing or hearing it, mh. Did they give him a hero's welcome?
[ Ian ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:31 PM
I used to go to tanning booths all the time. I stopped last year because I was only going like once a week to keep up my tan and decided it was a waste of money to do.
[ Liza ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:35 PM
Dustin Pedroia is amazing and I love him.
[ mhcranberry ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:35 PM
Oh yes... just lots of saying his name, ass slaps, that whole thing. Just neat hearing it.
Speaking of hearing, I HATE THAT FUCKIN TRAIN.
[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:39 PM
I remember that train from the last time we played out here.
Wish I had heard/seen that. How cute!
[ Liza ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:49 PM
Crickets?
[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:49 PM
[ Kate ] says:
[ Meghan ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:50 PM
Chirp chirp.
[ Ian ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:50 PM
I said it last night Liza. As the time gets later, the comments start to dwindle. Then fc will pop up and say she's here. :D
[ fc ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:51 PM
(I will not.)
[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:54 PM
What is an LP meeting?
[ Meghan ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:56 PM
I can emphasize Jenny...I've got to wake up at 4am for a two hour commute back to the city. No fun at all.
[ Meghan ] says:
on July 22, 2008 11:56 PM
*empathize. I REALLY should get to sleep haha.
[ ecl1958 ] says:
4:00 a.m., Meghan? :::looks at clock::: hahahaaa....
I don't have to get up until 7:00, but really should get to bed after this half inning, as I'm in a bit of pain at the moment.
The Red Sox inquired on J.J. Putz, but the Mariners say he's not available.
[ Karen ] says:
I have an 8am dentist appt. At least I don't have to be too awake. It's my day off. Then nap before 4:40pm game.
[ Kate ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:01 AM
Same here, Liza! ;D
[ jenny again ] says:
ecl - LP = loss prevention. WHEE.
[ Liza ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:01 AM
(high fives Kate)
Little people ftw. :)
[ fc ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:02 AM
I scheduled a dentist appointment around the Sox schedule. Had to go a month out, even though I'm starting to feel twinges from one tooth.
I believe dependency was mentioned earlier?
[ Kate ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:02 AM
Haha oh yeah.
[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:02 AM
Karen, hopefully you can sleep in the dentist's chair.
[ Kate ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:04 AM
Gahh. My dentist told me I need braces this year.
[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:04 AM
Jenny...oh goody. :::not:::
Liza/Kate: I was just sitting here trying to remember what it feels like to be that...free. (sigh...such a long time ago)
[ Piney61 ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:06 AM
Seriously though I feel for you early risers. I used to open at DD a long time ago and I'd have to be in there by 4:45am on weekends...and this was when I was a senior or so in high school. So I never had a day of full awesome sleep. Or even relatively decent sleep. Though I did have teh whole day to myself afterwards.
[ Meghan ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:06 AM
Ugh, Putz? Now if they could somehow get Morrow and his 0.853 WHIP...that would be nice.
[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:06 AM
Captain da train, da train!
[ Liza ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:07 AM
I actually do have to get up and out of the house soon after I wake up (whenever that may be)--I'm taking care of some cats, and they get lonely and sharpen their claws on furniture when I'm later than noon. :P
[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:07 AM
Piney, the reason I get up at 7:00 is that I absolutely can't drag myself out of bed any earlier. I am so not a morning person. Fortunately, where I work there are "flexible hours" options for those of us who don't have direct contact with patients.
[ Liza ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:08 AM
I want Brandon Morrow. For the bullpen, of course.
[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:09 AM
Much as I'd like to stay and hang out with y'all for the duration...I really need to go to sleep. Will drop by for bits and pieces of tomorrow afternoon's game. Otherwise, will see you good folks on Friday. GO SOX! :D
[ Karen ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:10 AM
I am so not a morning person. I have to set my alarm a half hour to hour before I actually have to get out of bed. I am so a noon person. I work 2nd shift but live 1hr 30mins away.
[ Liza ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:14 AM
I'm not a morning person, either. I often can't remember anything that happens before about 7:30 when I get up for school--which is good, considering my classes start at 8.
[ Piney61 ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:15 AM
My alarm clock is purposely a half hour ahead to trick my brain into thinking I'm running late. Sometimes it doesn't work like that but I can't change it back to normal because then I'd be thrown off with that. Then I set my alarm for an hour earlier than the "supposed work time" to throw myself off even further. And it gets to a point that I have to wake up or else I wouldn't know what time it is. It works pretty well. :)
[ Kate ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:15 AM
My classes start at 8, too, but I have to get up at 6:30. :(
[ Liza ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:17 AM
I get up at 6:30, too--I take the T to school, so I have to get out of the house by 7:10 in order to get to school at 8. Good times. :P
[ Kate ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:20 AM
Ahh.
I live about 5 minutes away from my school. I take forever to get ready, though, since I'm still half asleep. Heh.
[ fc ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:23 AM
Dice-K at 90 pitches in the 8th!
[ Kate ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:24 AM
Holy shit. Did not notice that.
[ Meghan ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:26 AM
Thats kind of cool that Lahair's first hit was against Boston. As long as he doesn't end up scoring:D
[ Meghan ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:28 AM
Well, never fucking mind...boo.
[ Ian ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:28 AM
fire up the papelboner
[ Liza ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:28 AM
Yay LaHair! No thanks, though. And no thanks to Ichiro, either.
[ Kate ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:28 AM
Aww. The Cubs intent. walked Baby Drew. haha
[ fc ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:28 AM
Aw, shit.
[ Karen ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:29 AM
Oh man. Meghan, what were u saying about him scoring.
[ Liza ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:29 AM
Tito, this is the part where you go out and talk to Daisuke and ask if he's okay to keep going.
Or just take him out. That works too.
[ Karen ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:30 AM
Time for Dice-K to leave. Oh god not Oki.
[ Kate ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:31 AM
Jesus... not Oki. Should have just left Daisuke in.
[ Piney61 ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:32 AM
I got a good feeling about Oki this time...
[ Meghan ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:33 AM
Could be worse...Timlin could be in!
[ fc ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:33 AM
Smart play.
[ Kate ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:34 AM
True, Meghan.
[ Liza ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:35 AM
TITO STOP IF YOU PUT TIMLIN IN UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES OTHER THAN WITH A RUN DIFFERENTIAL OF TEN IN EITHER TEAM'S FAVOR DURING THIS SERIES I WILL KILL YOU STOP MUCH LOVE FROM LIZA STOP
[ Karen ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:35 AM
Oki makes me nervous. Give me my Papelbon.
[ Meghan ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:36 AM
But Liza! Safeco is Timlin's favorite place to pitch! Especially in close games!
[ Karen ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:38 AM
Yeah the only time Timlin is safe is if the score is 10 or more to 0.
[ fc ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:38 AM
...and out of the inning with no further damage - which gives Oki another bit of success to build on.
[ Liza ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:40 AM
At least it's not Morrow.
Jacoby, DON'T STRIKE OUT.
[ Piney61 ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:41 AM
I think there'll be some runs scored this time...
[ Liza ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:43 AM
Well, he didn't strike out... :P
[ Karen ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:43 AM
My man warming up. Yeah. I know he only does the 9th, I wish he could do 6-9.
[ Liza ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:47 AM
That's more like it, JD.
[ Liza ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:50 AM
And Manny.
[ Liza ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:51 AM
But not Mikey.
[ Karen ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:52 AM
Full screen time, Papelbon.
[ Liza ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:54 AM
SHIPPING UP TO BOSTON WAAAAYOOOO
[ Kate ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:54 AM
WOO PAPELBUTT.
[ Ian ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:55 AM
Who needs viagra when we've got a Papelboner
[ Liza ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:58 AM
JOCO. Wow. That was funny.
[ fc ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:58 AM
Ells/Coco: That was interesting.
[ Liza ] says:
on July 23, 2008 12:59 AM
It most certainly was.
And... game. Night everyone.
[ Karen ] says:
on July 23, 2008 1:01 AM
So good. Happy Dreams again.
[ Karen ] says:
on July 23, 2008 1:02 AM
Shipping up to Boston is my ringer on my phone, for my morning alarm.
[ Piney61 ] says:
on July 23, 2008 1:04 AM
Joco? Someone care to enlighten me?
[ Piney61 ] says:
on July 23, 2008 1:09 AM
I know what Joco stands for(but I call it Jacoco) but did they make a play or something? I missed it due to my TV being off.
[ Cathy ] says:
on July 23, 2008 1:12 AM
There was a ball hit to left center, and Coco and Ellsbury both went to catch it, and kind of bumped into each other. Ellsbury ended up making the catch for the second out of the 9th.
[ Liza ] says:
on July 23, 2008 1:28 AM
Coming back for a moment--"Joco" is a combination of Jacoby and Coco that I use to refer to them as a single entity, as if they were just one starting center fielder (full name: Joco Crispbury).
Also, Texy (or Ian, I suppose): Can we get video of that catch (the Joco one)? Please?
