I've been gone the past 3 days and the Sox get swept by Tampa? D:

Bring on Pettitte.

[ fc ] says:
on July 3, 2008 6:59 PM

Hm...I thought last night's thread being dated in April was just a typo, but now I'm wondering if it's Freudian...

[ Danielle ] says:
on July 3, 2008 6:59 PM

Hey everyone!

I need some good baseball to blow my cold away!

[ Erin ] says:
on July 3, 2008 7:04 PM

Lets go Sox.

[ Erin ] says:
on July 3, 2008 7:10 PM

So how about A-Rod and his wife supposedly breaking up?

[ Danielle ] says:
on July 3, 2008 7:11 PM

And that ARod has been with Madonna and his wife with Lenny Kravitz..... I just feel terrible for their kids

[ Danielle ] says:
on July 3, 2008 7:13 PM

Pedey just keeps going and going like the Energizer bunny of hits

[ jules ] says:
on July 3, 2008 7:17 PM

Hey y'all! Why did I think it was a travel day? WTH? I spent the afternoon packing my office--crazy.

I sure hope we kick the Yank's bums.

I feel for A-Rod's kids. Honestly, I feel for him, too, as much as I can't stand him. I've been there and it's brutal.

MIKEY!

[ fc ] says:
on July 3, 2008 7:17 PM

Nice start, boys!

[ Erin ] says:
on July 3, 2008 7:23 PM

Anyone here?

Come on Lester!

[ Erin ] says:
on July 3, 2008 7:24 PM

Opps forget that comment. I forgot to refresh my page.

[ Danielle ] says:
on July 3, 2008 7:28 PM

WTH is going on, has everyone forgotten what the strike zone looks like?

[ jules ] says:
on July 3, 2008 7:28 PM

Lester! Our pitching is driving me crazy.

[ Lulu ] says:
on July 3, 2008 7:29 PM

Too many walks!!

Maybe it's contagious?

[ Erin ] says:
on July 3, 2008 7:29 PM

No more walks!

[ Lulu ] says:
on July 3, 2008 7:31 PM

Lugo! >:(

[ fc ] says:
on July 3, 2008 7:35 PM

There - no damage done.

[ Erin ] says:
on July 3, 2008 7:36 PM

Giambi looks like he should be the guy on Cops who gets arrested

[ Karen ] says:
on July 3, 2008 7:37 PM

Just turned on the game. I guess I missed something, the runs.

[ Karen ] says:
on July 3, 2008 7:41 PM

On mlb.tv, yankees network, how come there are no ny accents?

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 3, 2008 7:43 PM

Hi all...about to settle in for a FOUR day weekend. YIPPEEEE!!!!

Erin, Giambi totally and completely creeps me out. And would you believe my NYY partisan cousin has a thing about him? Yikes!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 3, 2008 7:43 PM

Broadcaster accents, Karen?

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 3, 2008 7:44 PM

YEAH ELLS!!!

[ fc ] says:
on July 3, 2008 7:44 PM

Looks like we brought the bats!

[ Lulu ] says:
on July 3, 2008 7:47 PM

Gaah...Ells. D:

But it feels really good to be swinging the bats well. :D

[ Danielle ] says:
on July 3, 2008 7:47 PM

Somebody send presents to whoever found the bats!

[ Ian ] says:
on July 3, 2008 7:51 PM

It's shockingly quiet here tonight. Wake up peoples.

[ jules ] says:
on July 3, 2008 7:51 PM

Giambi looks like he should be the guy on Cops who gets arrested

LOL! That's funny.

[ Ian ] says:
on July 3, 2008 7:51 PM

ok maybe not. stupid thing wouldn't refresh

[ Ian ] says:
on July 3, 2008 7:52 PM

who's doing the color on the Yankees tv broadcast

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 3, 2008 7:53 PM

Yeah, Coco!

Ian, you're the second person who has had problems refreshing (getting refreshed?).

[ jules ] says:
on July 3, 2008 7:54 PM

I'm glad Lester is doing better.

[ Ian ] says:
on July 3, 2008 7:55 PM

Ken Singleton - not a native new yorker. And if that's Al Leiter, he's from Jersey.

Michael Kay while from Nueva York, doesn't use a NY accent

[ Erin ] says:
on July 3, 2008 7:56 PM

YES has three guys who do the broadcast?

[ Ian ] says:
on July 3, 2008 7:56 PM

Jules thought it was a travel day. Texy thinks it's still April. It's bizarro world jerry.

[ Ian ] says:
on July 3, 2008 7:56 PM

they usually do at home Erin.

[ fc ] says:
on July 3, 2008 7:57 PM

We're back in July after my tactless observation.

[ Ian ] says:
on July 3, 2008 7:58 PM

almost forgot I had the skanks announcers on there for a sec.

When the inning came back, I was like where did jerry and don go.

Stupid fireworks here at the beach tonight have made my neighborhood a traffic jam. I left for the grocery store at 6:45 got there at 7:00. It's normally a 5 minute drive.

[ jules ] says:
on July 3, 2008 7:58 PM

Honestly, if I hadn't checked this site, I wouldn't have turned the TV on when I got home. It's been a looooooooooooooooooooooong week.

[ Ian ] says:
on July 3, 2008 7:59 PM

That's because she's lurking and doesn't want us to pick on her :D

[ Erin ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:01 PM

I've only heard Micheal Kay every now and then. But If I had to listen to him say "See Ya!" every night I would have to throw my TV out the window

[ Ian ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:01 PM

I don't mind Ken Singleton at all. He's a cool dude. Met him a few times when his son Justin played for us in New Haven

[ Lulu ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:02 PM

I forgot how nice it feels to have the other pitcher give us all these walks. :)

[ jules ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:02 PM

I've said it before and I'll say it again (and again)...I love DO and Remy. Worth every penny to listen to them all season long.

[ jules ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:05 PM

Love the free bases...hate the hitting into double plays.

Can there be worse commercials than Bobs?

[ Ian ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:05 PM

I have my choice of announcers tonight since I get both YES and NESN. Obviously I've gone with DO & RemDawg

[ Ian ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:06 PM

only the viva viagra ads jules.

At least we aren't seeing the scooter mcgillicutty one any more

[ Karen ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:06 PM

I miss Remy and Do. I don't get them until they go home next week.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:07 PM

The viva viagra ad that I hate the most is the guy who dons the blue suit and carries the bouquet. Urgh.

[ Ian ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:07 PM

NICE DP BOYS

[ jules ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:07 PM

Ian, you're right about the viva ads.

LOVE *turning* double plays. Good D, guys!

[ fc ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:08 PM

That was a pretty play.

[ Erin ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:08 PM

I HATE the Viagra ads.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:08 PM

A GIDP in addition to an error? Is Jeter taking lessons from E6?

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:09 PM

I also hate the ED ads with the couple in separate outdoor bathtubs. Stupidest scenario ever.

[ Danielle ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:10 PM

As much as I don't like the viagra ads or the ED ads, they helped me in pharmacology last semester! haha the only time those drug ads will ever go to good use

[ Erin ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:11 PM

ecl- Those are so random. How do they get the bathtubs out there?

[ fc ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:11 PM

Hm, what's up with Pedey's eye?

[ kristina ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:13 PM

hey everyone...so i've been MIA for about a month...my daughter had her tonsils and adenoids out....the recovery process did not go as smoothly as we hoped....she's finally feeling better...and we're hitting the ball...life is good at the moment

[ jules ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:14 PM

Coco! Tek needs to start hitting.

ecl, I think he got banged up turning the dp.

[ Ian ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:17 PM

Erin i'm guessing a stagehand brought them out there before they filled them up to shoot the commercial :))

[ jules ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:17 PM

kristina, I'm sorry to hear your daughter had some challenges, glad she's feeling better.

Gotta run!

[ kristina ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:19 PM

thanks jules.....at least Tek's making progress...he walked, scored a run and advanced a runner....seems like more then he's done in a long time....now all we need is a hit

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:19 PM

Jules, that was fc who asked about Pedey...I was MIA for a few minutes to gobble dinner.

Erin, the ads are not only random but unrealistic. A jacuzzi type arrangement for the couple, maybe. But two separate tubs? I guess the advertisers are giving it the prissy "I Love Lucy" treatment a la 1950s, where the couple slept in separate beds.

[ Bethie ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:20 PM

Oh my god. Our bats have come out of their coma. :)

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:24 PM

Bethie must have just arrived! :-) You feeling better?

[ kristina ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:24 PM

yeah LesterKKKKK

[ fc ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:24 PM

Jon is looking awfully sharp.

[ fc ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:28 PM

DREWWWWWW

[ Ian ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:28 PM

If I only were a foot taller said Bobby Abreu

[ kristina ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:28 PM

JD!

[ Bethie ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:29 PM

Yeah, I just got here, had a pre game/first inning nap. Didn't really have a choice on that one. But, I feel a little bit better. Thanks for asking!

Nice to see us scoring runs and Jon pitching so well. Brings a smile.

[ Erin ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:31 PM

I hate Damon.

But at least the Sox got another run!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:31 PM

I'm so tired right now that if I were to take a nap I wouldn't wake up until tomorrow morning.

Glad you're feeling better!

[ Karen ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:31 PM

As much as I love this, now why couldn't they have done this in Tampa?

[ Ian ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:32 PM

You really shouldn't hate Damon. He's a big reason why the Red Sox won the World Series in 2004.

[ Ian ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:33 PM

Karen I'm chalking it up to the Coco Crisp factor.

Coco's out for 5 games, they lose 5 games. He returns, the bats start to hit again.

[ Karen ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:34 PM

I know, every time I have gone to Tampa to see the Sox play they have lost. I was beginning to wonder.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:35 PM

And why couldn't they have done this on TV?

[ Erin ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:35 PM

Ian true . For me it was the way that he left Boston.

[ kristina ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:35 PM

yeah Youk......i blame the tampa losses on the field...i mean really, who names their ball field after orange juice =)

[ fc ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:36 PM

People, we are winning now. Just enjoy it!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:37 PM

Ian, Damon was surely a huge factor in 2004. I liked him a lot back then (and I was still a NYY fan at the time), but once I heard about how he treated his first wife and dumped her for Michelle, I lost all respect for him. He went from being one of my favorite players to being someone I didn't even want to look at.

[ fc ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:38 PM

...as someone goes for the bait.

[ Ellen ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:41 PM

hello? hello?

echo echo echo

I love this game. I have needed this for like 5 days.

[ Bethie ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:42 PM

Does anyone know which game we get Joba the hut??

[ Ellen ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:42 PM

Wow. My computer had a brain fart. It only showed the first 5 comments. I thought everyone had abandoned the game. LOL

[ Bethie ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:44 PM

ooooh...Lester has that intense look tonight. I swear, Beckett is pulling him aside and giving him lessons on how to be a bad ass.

[ Erin ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:46 PM

Isn't true that Buchholz was pulled from his start w/ the Paw Sox this weekend? I wonder If that means anything.

[ kristina ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:46 PM

after those first 2 walks Jon channelled his inner Josh...throw f-ing strikes.....

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:47 PM

Bethie, WRKO is saying Joba Sunday night.

[ Ian ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:49 PM

Buchholz is NOT starting for the Red Sox this weekend. Terry Francona said so in his pregame presser today.

[ fc ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:49 PM

Jon may be practicing being badass, but his left ear just waved at me, I'm certain of it.

[ Erin ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:50 PM

Thanks for the info Ian.

[ Karen ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:59 PM

I go by redsox.com for pitcher schedule. They list it up to 5 days in advance.

[ Lulu ] says:
on July 3, 2008 8:59 PM

I heard on the radio that Buccholz is coming back next week, and Masterson goes to the bullpen.

[ Ian ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:05 PM

that's pure speculation. buchholz will definitely be back at some point.

There's also a chance Michael Bowden will be here in August as well. He's most likely going to be promoted to Pawtucket after the All-Star break.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:05 PM

Ian, have you heard any speculation about Masterson being traded? Forget where I read that today...probably just musings by whoever it was, but I didn't like to see that.

[ Ian ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:08 PM

Honestly I don't think Masterson will get traded or even be mentioned. He's a part of the rotation for next year. Remember you have to replace at least Schilling, maybe Wakefield (he's a free agent) and Colon most likely.

[ Ian ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:09 PM

I can tell you this though. The Indians will be shopping C.C. Sabathia soon and you will hear the Red Sox being mentioned. You'll also hear about 10 other teams as well.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:12 PM

So has it been established that Colon has been a truckload of FAIL? And I thought Sabathia was having a not-so-good year. Is that just a fluke, ya think?

[ Ian ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:13 PM

such a waste of a good beer there

[ Ian ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:14 PM

colon has been a truckload of fail at all. He's done a decent job filling in. I just don't see him being a part of the plan for 2008.

Sabathia isn't having a good year but he's been pretty dominant his last 4-5 starts.

[ Ian ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:14 PM

oops i meant hasn't been a truckload of fail

[ fc ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:15 PM

Colon a FAIL? No way. He's had some nice outtings and I'd be surprised if we didn't see more. I expect he'll be back in the rotation again.

[ fc ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:16 PM

Ian did you mean you don't see him as being part of the plan for 09?

[ fc ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:16 PM

Nice hustle from JD.

[ Ian ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:16 PM

nice path to the ball JD.

[ kristina ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:17 PM

alcohol abuse right there....nice catch

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:17 PM

Another webgem for JD!

[ Ian ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:18 PM

That I did fc. my bad. ian failed.

I'm waiting for the grand finale of the fireworks so my apartment will start shaking and it sounds like a war zone here

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:19 PM

Yeah, see, I didn't think Colon was failing either...aside from injuring himself trying to hit, of course. (bless his heart)

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:19 PM

Ian, can you see the fireworks from your place?

[ Ian ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:21 PM

I can yes. But fireworks don't do anything for me. After watching them on a constant basis for 9 years of minor league baseball, their appeal to me is gone.

[ Ian ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:23 PM

nice little excuse me single

[ Anonymous ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:24 PM

Well, I love seeing the Boston fireworks from my roof. I have a perfect line-of-sight view, except for an apartment building that blocks the low-to-the-ground sparkly displays. I keep trying to have something done about that but apparently the people who live there don't agree.

[ fc ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:25 PM

Oops, I was Anon.

[ fc ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:26 PM

...and quietly, we have 2 guys on.
Such a charming little game.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:27 PM

Ahhh, Ian, you've become so jaded. I don't get to see them often, but they almost always wow me. I used to have a friend whose house was literally on an outcropping above our local minor league stadium, and it was great fun to stand on her porch and watch the rockets' red glare at eye level and hear the noise echoing between the ridges that surround the stadium. I would get absolutely transfixed every time I was there when they had a fireworks display.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:28 PM

fc, that sounds lovely!

[ Ian ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:28 PM

I will say this, Boston's firework's display last year was awesome. I watched it in HD on the tele.

[ Ian ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:29 PM

fc just get a little C4 and drop it by the building. that'll take care of your little problemo.

[ Ian ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:30 PM

And we have begun shaking

[ Ellen ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:31 PM

I love this game!

[ kristina ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:32 PM

Tek...that makes me smile!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:32 PM

FINALLY! Bet that put a smile on his face.

[ Karen ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:32 PM

I will be driving home when everyone is driving to the celebration in west palm beach. So needless to say I will be sitting in traffic for the 4th.

[ Ellen ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:33 PM

My little town has no fireworks display. We'd have to go to Nashua to see them.

[ Ian ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:34 PM

I get fireworks again tomorrow night since New Haven shoots them off about 3 miles from where they shot them off tonight.

[ Karen ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:35 PM

My town has the minor league playing, and fireworks afterward. But where I work is a much larger city and they are having a big celebration. After working over 9hrs tomorrow, won't be fun for me. I would rather head home and watch the game archived.

[ Ian ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:36 PM

all those people walking back from the fireworks are getting soaked since a shower is passing through right now.

Nice around the horn DP boys

[ Ellen ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:36 PM

OK I'm going to ask a stupid question. Is Lester still in because he is pitching awesomely and the bullpen is sucking ass right now?

[ Ian ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:38 PM

Because he is pitching well tonight and his pitch count is only 91

[ Erin ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:38 PM

My town has a nice fireworks display on the Umass campus.

[ fc ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:39 PM

Ellen, that, plus he is being so stingey with pitches that his pitch count is still only, what, eighty-something? So why pull him?

[ Erin ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:40 PM

Was it me or was Damon pissed?

[ Ellen ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:40 PM

Ah, ok. I saw the run-down of pitches per inning after I posted the Q. I thought that might have something to do with it as well. Thanks!

[ Ian ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:41 PM

I'd be surprised if he didn't come back out for the 9th inning. He's at 97 pitches

[ Bethie ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:42 PM

Only throws 11 pitches to get out of the inning.

Awesome.

[ fc ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:44 PM

A complete game from Lester would be so cool.
I admit I had, not so much doubts, but questions about him at the start of the season but he has made a believer out of me.

[ Bethie ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:46 PM

Me too fc. I did my fair share of bitching about his control the first part of the year. Now I'm eating a little crow. :)

[ Ian ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:46 PM

He's just showing us why the Red Sox decided not to trade him for Santana

[ fc ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:46 PM

Sean with a bat? Yes?

[ Ian ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:50 PM

THIS BOBS AD IS BRUTAL.

[ Ellen ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:50 PM

I hate all Bob's ads.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:51 PM

I don't know what Bob's is, but I'm glad I can't see the ad if it's that bad...

[ Ian ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:54 PM

Welcome back boys. We've missed ya.

[ fc ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:55 PM

I LIKE BASEBALL
again

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:55 PM

I heart DPs...when we're the ones turning 'em!

[ kristina ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:55 PM

yes, the Bob ads are bad, but I those Aflac commercials are the worst...maybe because my daughter thinks it's funny to randomly run over to me and go AFLAC....

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:55 PM

GLEE! (does happy dance)...will fall asleep with a smile on my face tonight.

[ Ian ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:55 PM

And shockingly enough, a Red Sox skanks game that lasted under 3 hours.

[ Ellen ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:56 PM

Hooray! That was awesome. I was getting worried there for a while, seeing them slip. It reminded me of the red sox from when I was a kid.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:56 PM

Does she go AFLAC insistently over and over like the duck in the ads?

[ Bethie ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:56 PM

That was just what the doctor ordered!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:57 PM

Wow, you're right, Ian! That was a short one.

[ Karen ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:57 PM

I missed the last inning, but I will watch it archived in a little bit.

[ fc ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:58 PM

kristina, I think your daughter and I share the same sense of humor.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:58 PM

Better than amoxicillin, huh Bethie?

[ kristina ] says:
on July 3, 2008 9:58 PM

I'm psyched for the rest of the weekend. So glad to see them up and at 'em again.

Kristina, you'll have to get her a little duckie suit for her next birthday so she can walk around doing that. ;-)

[ Bethie ] says:

Yes ma'am, Faith. Wish I could get 20 rounds of shutout Sox baseball instead. :)

In better news, Bartlett on 15 day DL for the Rays. Heh. :)

[ Ian ] says:

OK. I made this point earlier. Coco's out for 5 games, Red Sox lose 5.

Coco returns, Red Sox end 5-game losing streak.

Sounds good to me Ian. It's better than my theory. :)

HA...one down, 24 to go?

Dr. Faith prescribes 9 innings of Beckett Shutout Elixir for what ails ya!

I'm too lazy to scroll up, Bethie. What was your theory?

Dr. Faith prescribes 9 innings of Beckett Shutout Elixir for what ails ya!

Now that's a plan!

[ fc ] says:

As a bonus, we don't have to endure Somber Heidi tonight.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 3, 2008 10:07 PM

I thought you just might like that, Bethie!

[ Ian ] says:
on July 3, 2008 10:07 PM

Heidi get closer to Jon and rub your boobies on him. Geez she's like molesting him right now.

[ ecl1958 ] says:

Poor Jon...

[ Ian ] says:

Eckersley: Johnny Damon's 10 bouncer to homeplate won't get Manny.

I'm laughing hysterically here over that one

[ Bethie ] says:

My theory, albeit kinda lame, is that we just got off a run of inter-league play, which I personally hate. And that last run at Houston, I think that kinda took some wind out of their sails. Cause again, we lost a few that we should have easily won. So when they made it to Tampa...well....shit happens.

I dunno. I know the Rays have improved and they are all about knowing how to actually play baseball now. I get that. But that sweep hurt my soul, seriously. But I know tonight did the team a lot of good. Let's hope they can run with it.

[ kristina ] says:

i'll have to look into that ec....yay for tomorrow...a lunch date to Friendly's w/ my favorite 4 year old....then some yankee/redsox with my favorite ass kickin pitcher =)

Since I will be at work during tomorrow's game, I will be back on Saturday. I am happy I have Sox text alerts.

The Red Sox ran into top 3 pitchers of the Rays rotation is a big reason why they lost all the games down there.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on July 3, 2008 10:12 PM

No doubt the whole team is going to sleep well tonight. The WRKO guys were of the opinion that we were going on adrenaline tonight, having reached the hotel at 4:00 a.m. So the adrenaline surge-fueled win + a good night's sleep, equals kick some ass this weekend! RAH!

Of course. And they also ran into our inconsistent bullpen. That didn't hurt their chances either.

good night's sleep and back at it for some day baseball tomorrow afternoon.

[ kristina ] says:

do you need a hapy ending sundae Ian

[ Danielle ] says:

Maybe I'm the only one who noticed but tonight's score is the exact same as Jon's no-no this season

Quite a coincidence

[ fc ] says:

I think Jon Lester just gave us all a happy ending sundae.

^ They lost 5 games by 1 run. When they're hot they could have easily won any or all of those games, when they're cold they find new ways to lose. Not much to it. Delcarmen and Hansen were hot a couple weeks ago, now they aren't. Plus before tonight Varitek hadn't had a hit in a couple years
