i don't really feel bad for kinsler because pedey's doing great, especially lately, but WOW kinsler's numbers are incredible so far this year. his bad luck that he's a) a ranger and b) competing with pedey for that 2B spot.
I absolutely cannot stand Mr. Pornstache. Never could. He is definitely in the top spot on my "NYY players I can't stand" list, w/A-Rod a close second.
P.S. to the above. My NYY partisan cousin, for reasons I am completely unable to fathom, has a major thing about Mr. Pornstache, although when I helpfully sent her a picture I found of him from quite a few years ago, she wrote back saying "Now THAT is the Jason Giambi I fell in love with!" So I guess even she can see he has become totally disgusting.
I like Rivera, always have. I know his skills are declining now, but in his prime he was absolutely amazing, the best closer I've *ever* seen, bar none.
I'm still fond of Abreu too (although he's only in his second season w/NY so almost doesn't count). Patient at the plate, really pleasant sort of guy, sort of reminds me of Bernie Williams in his demeanor (an old favorite from years past). He also has wonderful dimples. /shallow
I'll freely admit that Mo is no looker by ANY stretch of the imagination. He definitely wins my vote with his career history, though.
Bethie, I pretty much have to avert my eyes at the sight of A-Rod. Or Giambi. Or Damon. Even Jeter anymore, and he used to be one of my faves. I will say this about A-Rod, though -- he's got stunning eye color.
Girardi and this FOX team tongue-bathing Mussina and saying he MUST be on the All-Star team is ridiculous. He's not anywhere near the Top 10 pitchers in ERA or WHIP or even K's.
HEY DUMBASS: if the catcher's mask shifting really was "disconcerting" to catchers, they wouldn't fucking wear it. JUST BECAUSE YOU THINK IT IS DOESN'T MAKE IT SO.
Well I do generally turn to McCarver for all my insight on baseball. I wonder if Tito will take Mussina on the All Star team, especially over someone like Lester/Dice K
Eck & Harold Reynolds will be hosting the ASG show tomorrow -- and, supposedly, TBS is going to have them call the playoff games for them in the fall. YAY!
ump was very inconsistant with his strike zone in the 9th though. not that that is an excuse but it defenitely didnt help. that last one lugo missed was pretty down the middle.
this is true, i guess i just saw it multiple times there in the 9th. oh well you get that some games. win tomorrow and take 3 outta 4, woulda been nice to pull this one out though.
how many times do the Red Sox get a chance to go into Yankee stadium and have a big series middle/late in the season and then lose 2-3, split, get swept, etc. etc. Rivera was horrible that 9th and trying to give the Sox the win on a silver platter
