you know what's crazy? how fast Wikipedia was on this sh-t. I went there to get some more background info on Bay and it already says he's a "Canadian baseball player for the Boston Red Sox". man they are fast.
In all seriousness--- JASON! WELCOME! We're a weird group but generally harmless. What's your secret talent/quirk? Dancing? Funny interviews? Weird clothes? I don't think we have a singer yet on the team.
Lyndsay-- by "they" you mean the thousands and thousands of people who update that site's contents every day?
I feel I'm going to need to call him NARCISSISTIC MANCHILD from now on.
Also - #38 is his for the taking, it ain't like Curt's gonna need it. (I do like how Curt used the opportunity to get a charitable donation - much better than asking for a fancy watch or something.)
hahha I wasn't the only one who thought about him not hitting a homer in the HR derby....ahh those Canadiens. If it makes everyone else in the clubhouse calmer without Manny then it's a good move
anyone know how long we will have bay under contract for? i assume its more then just this year given that we gave 2 prospects + manny basically for free up for him
Thanks for the humor on this thread, you guys. I need it right now. I'll try to like this Bay, I really will. And I'm sure I'll get used to him after awhile.
Maybe I'll even have myself a drink when I get home tonight. I think I need one.
I was watching the NESN trade deadline. Manny is in every NESN comercial. Manny is Boston. Like all they talk about on "I Dont Know What Im Talking About ESPN and Fox" is like Manny 500, and Manny's bats. This is sad. I'm gonna miss him. I want to like Bay though. They says he's like Sean Casey nice. Nobody can be that nice
the question is, is Bay going to need some time to "get used to" AL pitchers like Drew did? God I hope not - we need you NOW, Bay!
the upside of Bay - if you're looking at just the numbers compared to Manny - is that he may have less power, but when he puts the ball in play, he actually RUNS the bases - he's known to be quite a skilled basestealer. so he could be like Ellsbury +power. hey, I'll take a guy who actually hustles down the basepaths.
Texy, your post title has one of my favorite songs going through my head, "The Immigrant Song."
I've been bothered by Manny's behavior of late--McCormack and Youk. I hope the lack of distraction makes up for any production loss. Watching last night's game was painful, it seemed that this Manny "problem" took a toll on the guys.

what's the word on Bay? good clubhouse guy? is he Sean Casey-esque? or does he throw batting helmets?
