That guy? OTHERWORLDLY. As I said in the open thread, the Rangers just picked up thousands of new fans thanks to the fireworks provided by one Mr. Josh Hamilton.

And thanks to Big Papi for being Johnny-on-the-spot with his patented Papi Hugs, because it gives me the perfect excuse to post this photo:

Justin Morneau may have won the Derby in the end, but all anyone's going to remember (and be talking about) is Josh Hamilton's 28 dingers in the first round.

I loved all his teammate reactions and all the guys watching, appreciating and enjoying Hamilton. Ortiz was fun to watch, but definitely Edison Volquez giving Hamilton the briefcase as a HERE YOU WIN IT ALL was hilarious.

I just want to congratulate ortiz for making a jackass outta himself by walking off the field during Hamilton's run. Nothing like trying to bring all the attention to yourself when you're a washed up has been. If any Texas Ranger pitcher has nads, then Ortiz will get one between the shoulder blades the next time he steps in. Typical chowd.

yeah I'm officially on the Hamilton train now too. simply amazing. I really wish he'd won it. And I really hope we don't find out ten years from now that he was juiced or something. He was looking absolutely Bonds-like. (and I mean that in a good, amazing HR-hitting way, not in a juiced-out-of-his-mind way.)

in the movie of his life (which there definitely WILL be), Josh Hamilton absolutely has to be played by Cole Hauser (Dazed and Confused, Good Will Hunting, etc)
