In a weird way, though I'm anxious, I'm almost relieved, having sat through the Sunday Toronto shellacking. "Slept on it wrong" really didn't cover it. And really, ever since DaveRoberts'Shoes said "Medial elbow laxity, generally speaking, is due to ulnar collateral ligament pathology" on SoSH back on 8/20 I've been expecting the worst. If Beckett had been Beckett all along this year, I'd be shaking... but he hasn't. So I'll just hope Lester can keep being an ace, Daisuke can keep pulling wins out of his hat, Byrd can get guys out even when Tek corners him in the dugout afterward to ask what the hell he was throwing, and Wakey can be Wakey. Colon would be a bonus. (I'm giving up hope of squeezing Bowden onto the 40-man.)
When I saw the comment scratched from the game on boston.com and heard them talk about it in post game interviews, I was hoping I was seeing and hearing things. I have been looking forward to this all week. I just hope it's not serious. Please Josh, come back. We miss you.
Oy vey! My concern index is darned high. A trip to Andrews is never a good thing, per se. However, he's the best in th biz, as they say, and we'll 'know' one way or the other. That's rational me talking: do well by your ace and your ace will do well by you; yadda, yadda...
In my heart, I'm with TB, I wish this would go away now.
BOSTON -- The Red Sox placed right-hander Josh Beckett on the 15-day disabled list on Friday.
Beckett, who has been dealing with right elbow inflammation, was scratched from his scheduled Friday start on Thursday and was scheduled to visit renowned orthopedist Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, Ala. It was not immediately known what the results of the exam were.
Thats not good for the sox or my fantasy team. *sigh*

I KNOW! I was hoping to catch our favorite Texan at the Rangers series next weekend. Hopefully this nightmare will end shortly.
