Back from vacation, missed a lot of Sox games (saw one while in Boise). I wish I couid've seen the 19-17 game! Yesterday's game was a wreck. Let's hope our bats wake up and we win this one.
I'm here. Was supposed to work, however due to the storm, I stayed home to prepare. Now bored, waiting. Feel like I should be doing something, but can't go anywhere.
I'm here. Just getting ducks in a row after work. Have to make a phone call and scrounge up dinner, then will be multitasking as I follow the game. So many things, so little time...will check back in a bit.
Oh the mlb.tv local announcers, oh yeah. It's like Christmas for the weather channel, they love this stuff. Yeah we have a ts warning, and now a tornado warning, gets better by the minute. I have all the shutters up, I am good.
Thanks, Bethie. We were in Yellowstone and it was spectacular! Truly breathtaking. We saw black bears, grizzly bears, a bull mouse(!), coyote, fox, osprey chicks, bald eagle, and a bazillion bison. I'll post photos later.
The downside of the trip was getting pulled over in the wastelands of Nevada. I was doing 78 in a 75 zone. The jerk said I was doing 102! Now I have to take a day or two off work, and drive six hours one way to fight it.
I had to look Jim Cantore up. You'll love this from Wikipedia: Cantore has reported from so many hurricanes that residents along the coast have given him the nickname "The Angel of Death".
That sucks Jules. I wish they could find a way to have a lawyer or someone go in on your behalf so that you wouldn't have to drive 6 freaking hours to contest it.
And how the heck did he get 3 digits on his radar gun out of a 78 in a 75??
I am on the east coast, Vero Beach. I am supposed to get the bottom part of it. It will be a hurricane cat. 1 when it hits, not too bad, I was in town for a cat. 4. Yeah Cantore is on the other coast, although some of his coworkers are down the street.
Jules, where in Nv were you? Also I noticed you said you were in Boise. I have a friend moving there, wonder what's it like.
That's just about the truth Jules! Accurate nickname. He brings the destruction with him, and they always send him out to stand in the middle of record breaking blizzards. Poor guy.
That's the rub. He said he clocked me at 102. He also said that I passed him (never saw him and I know what their HP cars look like). He said I was flying down the road. The funny thing is that I had just gone through a long construction zone and had my cruise control at 55.
Also, I was driving my *husband's* Rav-4. Rav-4, not a Porche!
I'm calling a lawyer to see what my options are.
Gotta run for a bit. Kidlet needs school supplies. By tomorrow!
real quick before I run out...Boise is very nice. The downtown is great. They have the Cubbies A team and Boise State sports is *huge*. It's an arid climate and the housing is cheaper than CA. Your friend should like it a lot.
And Jed sure knocked the snot out of that one. Shoulda been a homer.
Yeah, faith. We do need the rain. But they are saying it might get here on Thursday and I have an outdoor concert to go to. I'm hoping the will reschedule it. I hope I hope.
Bethie, who said it will get here on Thursday? I haven't been following the Weather Channel predictions, but the National Weather Service and Weather Underground both have it tracking farther west than was earlier thought...more towards Georgia/Alabama. As of Thursday it's supposed to be just crossing from Florida into southern Georgia.
I guess Youk tossed one to first and it was a high toss so they said "He threw that as high as Casey is tall" and they cracked up and started talking about how tall he is and that they should "work it into out repertoire."
I like bright colors. I have these red sketchers I wear with my red sox shirt. They are falling apart and I have been trying to find others to replace them. Red sneakers aren't easy to find.
Good job getting out of that Jon....I've been scarce tonight, I'm trying to clean my house, the realtor is showing it tomorrow and we've been crazy busy that stugg has just piled up everywhere
I like bright colors as long as they're offset by black. My favorite color scheme is red and black, and I even wear my red Sox shirts with black pants on casual Fridays.
Mary, red is sort of my "power color," if you will. And in a meme you did awhile back on LJ, I decided that you and I were separated at birth. Some of the similarities were pretty freaky. Including that color combination.
Ecl, I wore red pants, black sneakers, and black top the other night to work. I was told I could be Mickey Mouse. Now I'm not sure if I will ever wear that combo to work again.
Cathy, my all-time favorite oddball name (not baseball related, just someone I met years ago) is...:::drumroll please:::...Cash Register. And that was his real name, not Cassidy or Cassius. Cash. I don't know what his parents were thinking.
