The voices of Don and Jerry is music to my ears.

Sweet, sweet NESN.

Hey all...am dragging what's left of me out of the office. Lots to do at the house but will have the volume blasting so I can hear the game, and will probably stop here by at some point to say hey. Enjoy the game!

[ Karen ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:05 PM

So happy it's Nesn. The Chicago announcers were too much for me.

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:06 PM

Oh NESN - I have missed you so.

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:07 PM

Welcome to the big leauges Zink - meet the Rangers: the most impressive offense team in baseball.

[ Karen ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:08 PM

Rangers=Hamilton. Yeah.

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:09 PM

Nice inning, Charlie Tadao!

[ Erin-2 ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:10 PM

Why did everyone have the Chicago announcers yesterday?

[ Karen ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:11 PM

Mlb.tv=local announcers

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:11 PM

MLB.TV, I guess.

[ jenny again ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:11 PM

Hi all. Psyched for Zink; so far so good! (::woodknocking, of course::)

[ Texy ] says:

Fantastic start by Charlie.

[ Kate ] says:

[ Karen ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:14 PM

Kate, where do you live now?

[ Kate ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:15 PM

Central WV.
My dad got a job offer and he has to go to an interview tomorrow.

[ Karen ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:16 PM

I love MD, one of my favorite states.

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:16 PM

PAPI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[ Texy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:16 PM

Oh Papi you're so fine,
you're so fine you blow my mind
HEY PAPI!
HEY PAPI!

[ Karen ] says:

[ Jennie ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:17 PM

PAPI!!!

[ jenny again ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:18 PM

So Jacoby was a late scratch, huh?

[ Bethie ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:18 PM

Woo hoo. I picked a great time to come in here.

PAPPPPPIIII!!!

Hey everyone!

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:19 PM

Jacoby has a bruised ass.

Who wants to volunteer to help him make it feel better?

[ Jennie ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:19 PM

Sweet, sweet Don and Remy.

[ Kate ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:19 PM

I've never been to MD, so I'm kind of excited yet nervous.

late, but: PAPI!

[ Karen ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:22 PM

68 degrees, sounds so good. It has been over 90, when I get out of work, and that is around 8pm.

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:23 PM

here comes Mr. RBI.

[ Jennie ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:23 PM

Jason Bay reminds me of Ferris's friend Cameron.

[ jenny again ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:25 PM

I do like the euphemisms for Jacoby's hit-by-a-pitch-sore-ass. ;D

[ Jennie ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:25 PM

Wohoo! Synchronized Stealing, just in time for the Olympics. :)

[ Jennie ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:25 PM

Mr. RBI indeed :)

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:25 PM

JED!!!!!!!!

I love Rangers pitching!

[ jenny again ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:25 PM

ATTA BOY, JED. Man, I am smitten by these wee ones. Rookie power! Nice rip, kid.

[ Karen ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:25 PM

Yeah, so enjoying my night off.

[ Piney61 ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:26 PM

Mr. RBI strikes again....

[ Kristin ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:26 PM

Hello all...well this is a nice start...Lugo who?

[ Jennie ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:27 PM

Exactly :)

[ Texy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:27 PM

Jennie: TOTALLY. I could not for the life of me figure out who he reminded me of (other than Beaker) - and it's definitely Cameron.

[ Kristin ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:28 PM

Anyone...Anyone

[ Kate ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:29 PM

Boo @ Cubs game being rained out

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:29 PM

Heh. They walked Cash.

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:30 PM

JD!!!!!

[ Kristin ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:31 PM

Did we just bat around in the first....I like this game

[ Kate ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:31 PM

Yeah JD!

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:32 PM

HAHAHA!

[ Texy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:33 PM

JESUS H CHRIST

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:33 PM

PAPI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[ Ian ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:33 PM

HOLY SHIT

[ Kristin ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:33 PM

PAPI.....holy crap

[ Kate ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:34 PM

Oh.
My.
God!

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:34 PM

HOLY FUCKING SHIT!

[ Karen ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:34 PM

Oh man is this good. Oh, getting better by the minute. So so happy to be off.

[ Lulu ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:34 PM

It's at the point where I can feel sorry for the opposing pitcher.

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:34 PM

Ok now I just feel bad for the pitcher.

Zink must be feeling pretty good right now. Talk about run support!!

[ Kate ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:35 PM

Well, I was hoping my Rangers wouldn't get beat up so bad... although Boston offense is always nice?

[ Ian ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:36 PM

Poor Youk. Makes 2 of the 3 outs in the inning by striking out.

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:37 PM

he struck out twice in the inning!

"Somebody just shoot me!"

[ Kate ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:38 PM

2 Papi homers make up for it.

[ jenny again ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:38 PM

That 10-spot almost did not fit on the Monster in the first inning box. o.0

[ Mary ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:38 PM

Holy mother of god.

And I thought Youk said "you gotta be shittin me".

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:39 PM

So I take it that the Sox are happy to be back at Fenway?

[ Ian ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:40 PM

aren't they always lindsay.

Zink's probably saying I could get used to this every 5 days.

[ Ian ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:40 PM

They really need to pack the home bats when they go out the 9-game road trip next week.

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:40 PM

yeah he did, Mary. I just replayed it, and that's what he said.

[ Kristin ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:41 PM

Ok I know it's childish...but how can you not at least chuckle at "Milton Bradely"

[ Jennie ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:42 PM

Zink is a little hottie.

(Hope I'm not violating the terms of use.)

[ Ian ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:42 PM

The umpire probably felt bad for Feldman.

After all Feldman is a character from bizzarro Seinfeld.

[ Bethie ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:42 PM

Holy shit.

I am either really super impressed with our offense.....

Or laughing my ass off at Texas' starting pitching.

I can't decide which.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:43 PM

Just arrived home...and now I am REALLY regretting busting my butt to stay late. Are you KIDDING me? Look at all the goodness I've missed! Can't wait to watch the archive of the 1st inning...

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:43 PM

Paul Byrd's roster photo scares me.

[ M ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:43 PM

Kristin - Oh, I giggle frequently at his name. Hehehe.

There are so many puns you can make about his name.

[ Jennie ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:44 PM

looks like a mug shot. maybe Zink's parents took it. :)

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:44 PM

I think the Sox have scored more runs in this first inning for Zink than the entire season for Wakey.

[ Kate ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:45 PM

Bethie -- I'd be laughing at the pitching.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:45 PM

Ortiz almost broke the most RBI's in a single inning record. The most is 8 by Fernando Tatis in 1999.

Or at least that's what this site says: http://www.baseball-almanac.com/recbooks/rb_rbi1.shtml

[ Jennie ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:46 PM

Cool! I was just trying to look that up (unsuccessfully).

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:46 PM

Jennie, I second that about Zink. Very nice looking.

:::scrambling to get out of work clothes and fix dinner so I can sit down and watch this for a little while:::

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:48 PM

I third that about Zink.

Now get out of this inning and let the offense get back to work, Charlie.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:48 PM

I fourth that about Zink...lol

[ Mary ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:51 PM

To continue.... I must fifth that about Zink :)

[ Kristin ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:52 PM

Un-baseball related, but I'm super excited so I have to share my good news....I got a job offer today back home in NJ, nothing like waiting till the last minute...so even though I now have less then 3 weeks to move my family 300 miles south, I'm still stoked!

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:52 PM

So how about another 10 spot, offense?

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:53 PM

That's fantastic, Kristin!

[ Karen ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:55 PM

rain rain go away

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:56 PM

JED!!!! he is A-MA-ZING!

[ Mary ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:56 PM

Jedward!!

[ Kristin ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:57 PM

And I repeat my earlier comment...Lugo who??

[ Kate ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:58 PM

The force is most certainly with the Jedi.

[ Kristin ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:59 PM

Thanks Cathy, things are a little nutty around here, but where excited...of course, though I don't know what we are going to do without NESN

[ Anonymous ] says:
on August 12, 2008 7:59 PM

Kristen, when Jed got that double I said "Why dont they just get rid of Lugo now" lol.

It's at the point where the Sox should not think about all of the money that they are spending on him; but about winning another championship. And with Jed, we definately have a chance.

Wouldnt that completely suck if Lugo made an error in the World Series game that caused us to lose? I could see him pulling a Buckner.

We cant take that chance...

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 12, 2008 8:02 PM

Kristin, a hearty congratulations to you, and good luck with your move "down home!"

[ Texy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 8:02 PM

Heidi: you meant to say OCTOBER. Not September.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 8:03 PM

Congrats Kristen! That is great news! Good luck!

[ Kristin ] says:
on August 12, 2008 8:04 PM

ZinK.....and thanks everyone!

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 12, 2008 8:04 PM

ZinK!

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 8:06 PM

I can't believe that Hamilton has 111 RBI's! That is absolutely incredible!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 12, 2008 8:12 PM

Lindsay, I saw Hamilton's RBI totals last night and almost fell out of my chair. Had to look twice...

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 8:15 PM

Can he do it 3 times?

[ Karen ] says:
on August 12, 2008 8:15 PM

Texy, I like your guidelines for threads. I would really like to do that for emails. I have friends who don't use punctuation or can't spell. It is hard enough in English, worse in other languages. Imagine Korean without punctuation; not pretty.

[ jenny again ] says:
on August 12, 2008 8:15 PM

OK, so either the home plate umpire is particularly large tonight, or Dustin Pedroia has gotten EVEN SMALLER.

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 8:21 PM

I think Pedie shrinks every day. He always looks smaller to me.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 12, 2008 8:21 PM

Hi Jenny! :::waving happily:::

Bethie, if you're here, please check your LJ messages. Thanks.

[ Kristin ] says:
on August 12, 2008 8:26 PM

Hey more runs....

[ Bethie ] says:
on August 12, 2008 8:28 PM

I'm on it faith. :)

Good lord, I love this baseball team!

[ jenny again ] says:
on August 12, 2008 8:29 PM

Hi Faith! I picked a good game to curl up here with all y'all. ;D

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 12, 2008 8:31 PM

Jenny, it would have been even better had I not missed all the action in the 1st inning. Way too much work, way too many errands. I'll watch it later. But what I've actually gotten to see has been quite impressive!

[ Kristin ] says:
on August 12, 2008 8:40 PM

Is anyone else looking foward to some olympic gymnastics tonight, or am I just that much of a dork....of course, more Phelps action sounds good too!

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 8:43 PM

I am super excited, Kristin.

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 12, 2008 8:44 PM

Me too Kristen. Did you guys catch the mens gymnastics last night? I was so happy to see those guys standing on the podium - they put in great performances.

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 12, 2008 8:45 PM

*Krisin!

[ Karen ] says:
on August 12, 2008 8:45 PM

I have missed most of the Olympics due to work.

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 12, 2008 8:45 PM

**Kristin

Wow I cannot spell tonight!

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 8:46 PM

I am in love with the mens gymnastics team! Especially Jonathan Horton!

[ Kristin ] says:
on August 12, 2008 8:46 PM

That was awesome last night...almost as good as that relay finish the night before

[ Kristin ] says:
on August 12, 2008 8:48 PM

Ok I think we've given them enough...now would be a good time for a GIDP

[ jenny again ] says:
on August 12, 2008 8:49 PM

Settle in, Charlie! Nice and easy here, get some outs, kid.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 8:49 PM

Thats a stupid drawing that Mass Lottery is having...you have to have already won 1 million dollars to be entered into the drawing to win season sox tickets for life. They're already millionaires, why should they get more? They should have a completed seperate drawing with different people...

..Sorry, had to vent for a sec

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 8:50 PM

**completely

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 12, 2008 8:51 PM

Ok I really want Zink to just get out of this inning and get the win.

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 8:51 PM

UGH! This is not good!

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 8:51 PM

what the hell!

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 12, 2008 8:52 PM

I miss our normal knuckleballer...

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 8:52 PM

That was a catch!!!

[ Piney61 ] says:
on August 12, 2008 8:52 PM

I dunno about you guys but that looked like a catch to me.

[ Ian ] says:
on August 12, 2008 8:52 PM

no win for zink tonight.

[ Karen ] says:
on August 12, 2008 8:52 PM

Aw, poor Zink.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 8:53 PM

That definately was a catch. It fell out on the transfer. Grr!!

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 12, 2008 8:53 PM

So thoughts on Zink?

[ Kristin ] says:
on August 12, 2008 8:54 PM

Dam umps...lets just get out of this inning and knock in some more

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 8:54 PM

I think he pitched better than the stats show. he was facing the best offensive team in the AL in his first ML start. That can't be an easy thing to do.

[ Piney61 ] says:
on August 12, 2008 8:54 PM

Not a great performance from him, but I wasn't expecting much to begin with. Hopefully next time he pitches he'll kick some ass.

[ Karen ] says:
on August 12, 2008 8:56 PM

Oh man, we can't lose this lead.

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 12, 2008 8:56 PM

If we lose this game....

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 8:57 PM

Get out of this inning!!!!!

Scoring 12 runs should make this game a walk in the park. I should NOT be nervous right now!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 12, 2008 8:57 PM

Sorry to disappear there, folks. Was in such a desperate hurry to eat that I didn't even see the eggshells go into the omelet. Oops. At least I feel a bit better now that I'm not about to drop of hunger.

And that was indeed a catch (belated post).

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 8:58 PM

I agree with Cathy. He pitched pretty decent for his first time in the bigs and he was facing the Rangers who have some strong and powerful bats.

...should be out 3

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 8:59 PM

aww I remember that moment.

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:01 PM

This is just a really weird inning.

[ Kristin ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:02 PM

This is not pretty....how is it a 2 run game

[ Ian ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:02 PM

ummmmmmmm good thing we got 10 in the first

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:02 PM

And one I would like to forget.

[ Jennie ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:02 PM

THIS SUCKS!!!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:02 PM

Are you freakin' KIDDING me???

Uh, I wanted US to have a slugfest, not them. :::grrr:::

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:03 PM

You've got to be shittiing me..

a 2 run game?

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:03 PM

Wow just wow.

This is horrible.

[ Karen ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:03 PM

Oh man, not this, it was so good.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:03 PM

FINALLY!!!!!!

alright boys, we NEED some runs!

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:03 PM

How the hell did that just happen?

[ Kristin ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:04 PM

So glad thats over.....time for a few more...come on bats

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:04 PM

What sucks even more is that the inning should have already been over before Kinsler's homer.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:05 PM

Pretty amazing for both teams to be into their 4th time through the order in the 5th inning.

[ Piney61 ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:07 PM

Three of those runs should've never happened but because the umpires are fucking morons, Red Sox have to suffer. *sighs*

[ Kristin ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:08 PM

Rupe has scary facial hair...

[ Jennie ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:08 PM

Um, can we get Feldman back?

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:08 PM

PAPI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:08 PM

I'm going to cry

[ Jennie ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:08 PM

Some dipshit fan needs to GO!!!!!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:09 PM

You have GOT to be kidding me!

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:09 PM

Stupid fucking fan!

[ Jane ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:09 PM

Just tuned in.

... the hell is going on??

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:09 PM

No! It looks like the fan reached for it but the ball did go into the stands......

[ Kristin ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:09 PM

f-in stupid fans....

[ Jennie ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:10 PM

Seriously, if you can't keep your damn hands off the ball, go wearing a fucking straight jacket.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:10 PM

And our lovely dear sweet Papi is smiling nonetheless. :::hugs him:::

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:12 PM

So this game should really be 13-7.

I want instant replay now.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:12 PM

I can live with this actually. =P

[ Kristin ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:12 PM

YOUK....that makes up for it

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:12 PM

YOUK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Call that one fan fucking interference, Umps!

[ Ian ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:12 PM

touchdown!!!

[ Piney61 ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:12 PM

Okay by my calculation, the score SHOULD be 13-6 but instead it is 12-10.....yeah that's a big difference two blown calls make in one game.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:12 PM

HA -- take THAT!!!

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:13 PM

Thank you YOUKKKKKK

[ Piney61 ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:13 PM

Okay scratch that, 14-6...

[ jenny again ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:13 PM

This game? IS BIZARRE.

[ Karen ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:13 PM

Way to go YOUKY! I'm sure he will be very happy now.

[ Jennie ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:13 PM

I guess all's well that ends well.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:14 PM

I bet the fan that interfered is happy!

[ Jennie ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:14 PM

And I hope that (*&$)(#)#&@ fan learned their lesson!!!

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:15 PM

What time does Phelps swim, 11:16? Because this game might not be over by then.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:15 PM

So, root for the Yankees? or the Twins?

Twins only 1.5 back for wildcard...

Hmm

[ Kristin ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:15 PM

That TC is a crack up "back to the pitchers duel at fenway"

[ Jennie ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:16 PM

I know, it just occurred to me other other day that I have to start rooting again Minnesota (to whom I am usually oblivious).

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:16 PM

What is up with Rupe's facial hair?

[ Ian ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:17 PM

Phelps has two races tonight. One at 10 ish and the one at 11ish

[ jenny again ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:17 PM

Twins are actually in first place right now in the Central, so they are welcome to beat the Yanks. We need Chicago to lose more. ;D

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:19 PM

I will never root for the Yanks...

Unless they are playing the Rays!

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:22 PM

Leadoff walks are teh suck.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:23 PM

Have to do paperwork for an appointment. Will be sitting here at the computer in case anything big happens...

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:24 PM

::sigh::

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:25 PM

I need Tums.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:25 PM

So did everyone hear about Manny being Manny last night?

[ Jennie ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:26 PM

No, what did Manny do last night?

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:26 PM

My god. No more Ranger runs.

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:26 PM

He was using the bathroom, and held up the game.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:27 PM

Oh, did he actually hold up the game? I didn't sit down and read the article.

At least he didn't go in the outfield wall...

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:28 PM

He disapeared and they had to hold up the game because they didnt know where he went. And when finally came back he said that he thought that he had been pulled from the game.

[ Kristin ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:28 PM

woo, I just went to put my laundry in the dryer, what did I miss

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:29 PM

Yeah. They were all waiting for him to get to the outfield. Nobody knew when he was.

[ Ian ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:29 PM

read the bottom of my afternoon delight post from this afternoon for an ultimate manny being manny post.

Ian, your site must be extra popular right now. Can't get on it! So I'm, ahem, contacting the webmaster.

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:32 PM

Wow is our pitching this bad or their offense that good?

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:33 PM

This game is getting rediculous. up 10 nothing 6 innings ago. And now only up by 1...

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:33 PM

Holy fuck! What just happened?

[ Ian ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:34 PM

i'll fix the site. give it a few minutes.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:34 PM

He was out! He was tagged before he hit home plate!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:34 PM

This.Is.Insane.

Totally.Insane.

[ Kristin ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:34 PM

I have no words

[ Jennie ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:34 PM

ahem, tied :(

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:34 PM

How in gods name did we blow a ten run lead?!

[ jenny again ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:34 PM

OK, who declared this to be opposite-of-yesterday day? THIS IS NUTS.

[ Kara ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:34 PM

What. The. Fuck!?

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:34 PM

He was fucking out!

[ Jennie ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:35 PM

I thought he was out too.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:35 PM

I am getting pissed!

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:35 PM

GIVE ME MASTERSON NOW

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:36 PM

I have never been so glad to see Masterson in my life!

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:36 PM

If we're going to look on the bright side; at least it's only the 6th

[ jenny again ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:36 PM

I have a vague memory of putting up a 10-spot in the first. Did I dream that? I'm feeling ... speechless? That's a good word for this.

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:37 PM

This is just a really bad nightmare right?

[ Mac ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:37 PM

This game is getting ridiculous...

[ Kara ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:37 PM

...and there it goes

[ Mac ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:38 PM

Aw crap.

[ Bethie ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:38 PM

I believe this is the most ridiculous crap I have ever seen.

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:38 PM

How...just how....

[ Kristin ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:38 PM

How did this happen....good thing Texas pitching isn't that good and it's only the 6th

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:38 PM

I am speechless.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:38 PM

I guess I didn't miss a thing in the first inning, huh?

Ian, now I remember...I did read that earlier this evening. :::grins:::

[ Piney61 ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:38 PM

I'm not even watching this game anymore. Fuck it. The piece of shit umpiring and the piece of shit pitching in this game has caused me to change it over to the Olympics. I'll keep an eye here, but I'm just too fucking disgusted right now.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:39 PM

I hate this Schilling commercial...

[ Ian ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:39 PM

ok my site's back up.

[ Kate ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:40 PM

Is it wrong that I am totally loving this game?

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:41 PM

Every single person in the bullpen that has pitched so far needs to be slapped upside the head.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:41 PM

Leadoff walk; alright come on boys!

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:42 PM

Hopefully Justin will come in in the 7th and shut the Rangers up.

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:42 PM

Wow I must be really behind you guys, I'm only on Coco's third pitch..

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:43 PM

really Jessi? I'm on 1-1 to Cash.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:44 PM

Are you using DVR? Did you remind and forget to go back to live?

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:44 PM

Yea I'm a good ten seconds behind you guys.

What is the record for most runs scored in a game?

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:45 PM

Nahh just mlb.tv - it's kinda slow haha.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:46 PM

Jessi, 36 by 1 team in 9 innings.

[ Kara ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:47 PM

Alright, c'mon Pedey.

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:47 PM

Thanks Lindsay - I think it may take 36 to win this game!

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:47 PM

That was in 1897.

The modern record is 30 which was done in 2007...and guess who did it;

The Rangers!

[ Karen ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:48 PM

Mlb.tv keeps freezing up on me. So annoying.

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:48 PM

Chicago over Philly 26-23 in 1922 for a total of 49 runs.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:48 PM

Your welcome Jessi.

"The modern record is 30 by the Texas Rangers in a game against the Baltimore Orioles on August 22, 2007. The Rangers won that game 30-3."

Damn, not they KILLED the Orioles...

http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_the_most_runs_ever_scored_by_a_single_team_in_a_Major_League_Baseball_game

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:49 PM

At least Pedie will be leading off the next inning.

[ Kristin ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:49 PM

I wonder what Josh is thinking about this game ::execute f-ing pitches, somebody::

[ Jennie ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:50 PM

How come I can't find anything about the Manny thing?

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:50 PM

Why the hell isnt Justin pitching?

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:51 PM

DAMN 30-3?!

Eh so we could be in a worse position.

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:51 PM

Where is J-Mast?!!

[ Karen ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:51 PM

Not Oki, isn't it bad enough already.

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:54 PM

"My kids can clean a garage faster than your kids"

Hahaha, love it.

[ Kara ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:55 PM

Right now, I think Don and Jerry are going to be the bright spot in this game for the rest of the night.

[ Kristin ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:56 PM

I don't want to watch this anymore

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:56 PM

Why the hell is Manny still out there?

[ Jennie ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:58 PM

Thanks, a lot comes up when you google "Manny bathroom"

[ Karen ] says:
on August 12, 2008 9:58 PM

I kind of miss Manny. Wish the Dodgers were still in my town for spring training. Although the Orioles with Millar won't be bad either.

[ Piney61 ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:00 PM

I think I may just boycott tomorrow's game in protest if the Red Sox lose this, which is likely since the Rangers are STILL scoring runs unlike the Red Sox. And by in protest I mean in protest of the team.

[ Kara ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:03 PM

I just found out my dad got tickets to Thursdays game. It'll be my only game of the season and if it's anything like tonight I think I might cry.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:03 PM

Hmmm, Piney....I have a whole bunch of stuff I could get done tomorrow night, now that I think about it. This does bear some pondering...

[ Kate ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:04 PM

I wish stupid gameday would give me a video of Ian's homer.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:05 PM

Really Kara. Cool! Im trying to get a single ticket to Friday's game. I kind wish that it wasnt against the Blue Jays though because I've already seen them 2 times this season.

Where are your seats?

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:05 PM

I really wanna watch some Olympic gymnastics and swimming.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:06 PM

Why could'nt they have just put Masterson in?

Our bullpen needs some SERIOUS help.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:07 PM

This is absolutely ridiculous. I'm glad I'm mostly otherwise occupied...helps dull the pain.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:07 PM

Thank God!

Alright. Pedie's up.

[ Kristin ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:08 PM

Trying to think positive thoughts ::Pedie, Papi, Youk up in the 7th::

[ Piney61 ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:09 PM

I'm going back to what worked for me earlier tonight...but only for the offense it worked.

[ Kara ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:10 PM

They're pretty bomb seats. Something like 13 rows behind home plate. I've never had seats like that before. I'm always stuck in like, outfield grandstand!

Daisuke's pitching, which is kind of a bummer. I saw him last year (a loss) after a 2 hour rain delay. I really wanted Lester. I bought this shirt after his no-hitter. Maybe I'll wear it anyway 'cause of the Jimmy Fund shindig they've got going on, haha.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:10 PM

PEDROIA!!!!

[ Kate ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:11 PM

Aww, yay Pedie.

[ Kate ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:12 PM

That's a cool shirt, Kara. Never seen it before.
The one and only Sox game I've been to, I saw Lester. (:

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:12 PM

Wow those are some great seats!

Thats also a really nice shirt!

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:13 PM

I saw Lester a few weeks ago. In the game against the twins where we were behing and Manny hit that 3 run homer.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:16 PM

I love this.

[ Kara ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:17 PM

PEDROIA!

[ Kristin ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:17 PM

I love errors by the other team...Pedie....come on boys

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:17 PM

:::all fingers and toes crossed, as well as the many kinks in my curly hair:::

[ Ian ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:18 PM

for those watching the olympics, phelps is up after the commercial

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:18 PM

Yay Pedie!!

Haha I saw "I love this" and "Pedroia" before Youk had even gotten in the batter's box. I was wondering what the hell he could've done.

[ Jennie ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:19 PM

wohoo! I have the Lestser shirt too!

[ Karen ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:20 PM

Phelps is on.

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:20 PM

Are we allowed to discuss Olympic results? Or is anyone on a delay?

[ Kate ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:21 PM

Hm. I think I want Texas to win this game, tbh.

[ Karen ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:26 PM

Aw, poor Bay.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:28 PM

YOUK!!!!

[ Kate ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:29 PM

Aww, Ian.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:29 PM

PEDROIA!!!

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:33 PM

Did Phelps win?

[ Kristin ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:34 PM

Nice job Oki.....really need to win this one boys

[ Kara ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:34 PM

I dunno, Lindsay. My dad wouldn't change the channel.

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:35 PM

Yeah, and he set a new world record.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:36 PM

Ellsbury! Yay!

And wow, Phelps is amazing!

[ Karen ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:38 PM

One benefit to watching the game online, I can watch tv at the same time.

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:40 PM

Strained right oblique muscle for Lowell.

[ Ian ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:40 PM

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:41 PM

Aww not Mikey...

[ Kate ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:41 PM

Haha.
Lemme rephrase that, then: Aww, Ian Kinsler.

[ Ian ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:42 PM

there's no way that last girl on the chinese olympic gymnastic team on the vault was 16.

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:43 PM

None of them are 16. it's just ridiculous.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:44 PM

I'm not watching the Olympics -- are they older or younger than 16?

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:45 PM

They're like 12 years old.

[ Ian ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:46 PM

PEDROIA The DESTROAH

[ Kristin ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:46 PM

I am liking this game again.

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:53 PM

And that is what you get when you walk Big Papi!

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:53 PM

Me too Mac. I realized that I like it much better when the Sox are on top. (obviously)

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:53 PM

Cathy and Kristin: Again, I'm not watching my TV, but it has often seemed to me that Asian people tend to "appear younger than stated age," as we say in the medical world." I wonder if that's the case with some of these young ladies who you're speaking of...they may look 12 but be several years older.

[ Karen ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:54 PM

Bring on my man.

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:54 PM

This could be the 2008 version of July 24th!

[ Ian ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:55 PM

I can't wait for tito's press conference after the game.

[ Jennie ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:55 PM

C'mon Paps! Do your thing!

Why does my friend want to come over right NOW???? Clean the old food from my apartment or watch the rest of the game?

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:57 PM

Byrd is pissing me off right now! What is that now, 6 for 6?

[ Kristin ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:58 PM

who would've thought 3 1/2 hours ago that Pap could get a save in this game

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:58 PM

how was that not a friggin strike? it was right down the middle of the friggin plate!

[ Ian ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:59 PM

nothing like missing a pitch down the middle of the plate mr umpire

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:59 PM

I was thinking the same exact thing Kristin!

[ Mac ] says:
on August 12, 2008 10:59 PM

That definitely looked like a strike.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 11:00 PM

I'm getting nervous...

What is that on Youk's jersey? It looks like he spilt (or someone threw) gatorade on him.

A delayed respose ecl (got cought up in the game), my biggest issue with Chinese gymnastics (and i'm sure it happens other place too) but those girls are given no choice, they are choosen when they are preschoolers...and I know gymnasts are generally small girls, but if you look at thier faces, there's no way some of those girls are 16...ok i'm done with my rant

I'm trusting that Lindsay is a few minutes ahead of me.

No problem, Kristin -- it was just a thought. And yes, it's sad that their lives are just laid out for them like that and they have no choice. Actually, it sucks.

And :::whew::: finally we WON!!! Epic battle!

[ Kristin ] says:

Fans around the bigs will look at the score and rub their eyes and blink and look again...

[ Kristin ] says:

and Go Oakland....we're off to NJ tomorrow to search for a new home, but I think the game is on ESPN, which will make me and the hubby very happy....

Who needs Manny when you can score 19 runs?!

On a more serious note, I really hope Mikey is ok.

[ Jennie ] says:
on August 12, 2008 11:08 PM

Lindsay - that was spoiling in a good way!

[ Jessi ] says:

Yankee update: Mariano came on in the 8th w/ two guys on and promptly gave up a homerun.

Tied game 6-6

[ Lindsay ] says:
on August 12, 2008 11:45 PM

K, good Jennie.

[ Piney61 ] says:

Wow, Mikey sounds really really really upset talking about it. Completely devastated

I guess no one's around now, Sweet lordy, that was quite a ride. When Youk hit that homer I thought people in the stands were going to burdt blood vessels - myself included.
