Erin - I saw the video, kinda scary. I'm so glad I was not there!
Watching the Yankee game and I've decided that I also cannot stand Bobby Abreau. Every time he takes a called strike, he turns and stares at the umpire. His face clearly says "How could you possibly think of calling that a strike?"
Anyone else ever notice that when Remy reads the defensive alignment for the other team, the graphic doesn't match up with what he says, in terms of the fielding percentage? He often reads a number that's one off from the graphic. For instance, tonight the graphic said the Royals are 3rd in the A.L. in fielding percentage, but Remy said 4th. It happens pretty frequently, so I don't know what's going on.
Well, my sister is there and I was going to fly out and meet her but, after throwing down $350 for the flight, I found that the rental car would be just as much. That's a lot of money to be hanging out in Kansas and Nebraska.
So i heard some blustery numbnuts talking about trades we should make.
He managed to pull together THE WORST idea ever:
ELLSBURY, CRISP, AARDSMA for Todd Helton and Matt Holliday
That's right, idiot. Trade BOTH our CFs plus one of the more consistent members of a struggling bullpen for a 1B when we have 2 and a LF when we have one for next season.
All I know is that there are HOARDS of dudes on the internet (granted, in real life too) who like to air their moronic ideas in public as if they're experts...
Here's a hint: having an opinion doesn't make you an expert. Should be that opinions are based on expertise.
I think they're probably trying to prove their manhood.
It is always fun to rip apart their fragile egos by bringing up things like REALITY in those situations though.
Thanks for reminding me that they're just dudes with big mouths, mhc. I've been known to read opinions on the stats-and-scores type blogs that get me pretty upset. Trashing my baseball boyfriends and stuff like that.
Yeah, they're generally totally fucking clueless. It's the one area of their lives in which they think they can sound cool, and they come out with bullcrap.
I think Ells takes way too many strikes. While I love patience at the plate and taking pitches, he is not walking or hitting. He'll take two balls right down the middle and then get beat on the inside fastball.
It is really frustrating to have SOOO many of our hitters slumping at the same friggen time. Feels like it's always someone. And now I'm waiting for Youk and Lowell to have their annual summer drop-off.
Frustration is kind of the word of the season for me.

I agree, Cathy, about Papi. It is driving me nuts that so many are claiming that Manny's departure is hurting Papi at the plate. They completely ignore the fact that he just came off the DL.
So Bethie, it's not just me? And here I was blaming it ALL on my computer being cranky this evening.
Actually, I'm probably up a creek now, because my Explorer window that had mlb.com open just crashed and restarted, which means I didn't log out properly and will probably get the "logged in on multiple computers" message. Oh goody...
Looks like I'm stuck with just Gameday graphics for the duration. Media player froze up and wouldn't refresh, I exited in the manner that the techies had directed, even logged out of mlb.com, and am still being told I'm trying to log in on multiple computers. :::inserts a bunch of cuss words:::
So y'all will have to fill me in on any great visuals that I miss.
I'm gonna be sensible again and go straight to bed. Hopefully shutting off the computer and disconnecting my Internet connection overnight will convince mlb.com that I am, in fact, NOT logged in on multiple computers. I'd really like to watch the game tomorrow night. :::shuffles off to the bedroom:::

Hey everybody...
Here's hoping Josh gets some awesome back here and pulverizes our opponents.
