Hey y'all!

I saw Kotsay taking BP during the pre-game show. I wonder if we'll see him tonight.

[ Hurricane ] says:
on August 27, 2008 6:58 PM

I was remembering a game in tampa bay where someone had a sign saying "JD Boo" I think DLDrew would have been much much better....

i am glad ron shandler thinks they arent as good as the sox...

[ Karen ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:03 PM

Here. Hopefully this game will be good. So far in the last week there has been a tropical storm, I got laid off, and now just found out my cousin took his life last night. Any more bad news? I can't handle losing.

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:05 PM

I am sorry to hear that, Karen. Hopefully this will be a good game for you.

[ jules ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:05 PM

Oh, Karen, I am so very sorry. My heart and prayers go out to you.

[ Mac ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:05 PM

I'm so sorry to hear that, Karen. I hope everything gets better for you.

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:10 PM

Pedie!!!

[ jules ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:10 PM

I'm going to a birthday party for my friend's 1-year old twins. Of course, they are getting Red Sox hats like I got for their older sister.

Never too early to indoctrinate, eh?

Pleats!

[ Mac ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:12 PM

Papi!

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:12 PM

PAPI!!!

[ jules ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:12 PM

Papi!!!!!!!!!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:14 PM

Karen, I am so sorry to hear about this. :::big hugs:::

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:15 PM

Oh goodness, I just realized that the mlb.tv broadcast is YES. I wonder which will be more obnoxious, that or ESPN?

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:16 PM

I'd go with ESPN.

[ jules ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:17 PM

BAY!

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:17 PM

Woot!!!!!

[ Mac ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:17 PM

NEW GUY!!!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:17 PM

Yay New Guy!!!

[ jules ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:17 PM

ecl, ESPN. Definitely. The YES announcers are the biggest whiners I've *ever* heard.

[ Karen ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:18 PM

Haven't decided which is worse YES or ESPN, this could be a close tie.

[ Mac ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:19 PM

ecl, I chose ESPN over YES. Repetition is better than obnoxiousness.

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:20 PM

Jed!

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:20 PM

Jed!

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:20 PM

I love him so much I had to say it twice.

[ Mac ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:22 PM

Tek!

Aw crap.

[ jules ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:23 PM

awwwwwww...crap.

two runs is a good way to start the game, tho.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:23 PM

My dilemma is that watching ESPN means being in the other room, away from my computer, so I'd be unable to hang out with y'all except between innings and during pitching changes. And...I often multitask on the computer during the game. So I'll just bite the bullet and stay here, I guess.

Dammit, Abreu, why did you have to use your arm there?

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:24 PM

That was a little too shallow to send him on.

[ Erin-2 ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:24 PM

Probably wasn't smart to send Bay there. He was out by a mile. Hopefully that won't haunt us.

[ Jennie ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:25 PM

Wah wah wah - I have my iPhone that isn't loading pages, MLB.tv that isn't working on this laptop and I can't even get Gameday to work. Can I annoy everyone for occasional recaps of what's happening?

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:26 PM

2-0 Sox in the bottom of the 1st, Jennie.

[ jules ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:27 PM

Sit your ASS down, demon.

[ Jennie ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:27 PM

Pedroia singled, Papi doubled and I guess that Jeb got an RBI too (and Bay was called out at home, based on what people are saying). Is that correct?

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:27 PM

Gift call, there.

[ Jennie ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:28 PM

And, uh, some traitorboy struck out??? :)

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:29 PM

Bay doubled in Papi and pedie, then Jed walked, and then tek singled, but bay got thrown out at home.

[ Mac ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:29 PM

Jacoby!!!

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:29 PM

*singled in Papi and Pedie

[ jules ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:30 PM

Traitor boy did strike out. I'm shopping for baseball caps so missed the location, but we'll take the gift.

Jacoby! Great catch!

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:32 PM

Wow. Still booing him.

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:32 PM

This ump sucks.

[ Karen ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:33 PM

A-Rod's this is why I'm hot song can go away soon. Did anyone see his post game interview?

Oh no.

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:33 PM

Crap!

[ jules ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:33 PM

dammit.

[ Mac ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:33 PM

Damn you, A-rod.

[ Mary ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:35 PM

Ugh A Rod.

But hi everyone!

[ Piney61 ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:35 PM

Don't be a douche, Byrd. Don't be a douche.

[ jules ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:36 PM

I just ordered a couple little kidlet baseball hats from the Yawkey Way store.

LOL, DO. "How'd the Lakers work out?" to Jack Nickelson sitting in the stands with a Yankees hat.

bwaaahaahaaaa

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:36 PM

Fuck you, you're out, greasy Mcpornstache!

[ Mac ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:37 PM

jules - Hahahahaha! Man, I miss NESN.

[ jules ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:41 PM

DO was hysterical. He mentioned how Jack always roots against Boston. That's when he asked how the Lakers worked out. Too funny.

[ Ian ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:44 PM

Just so y'all know, the lead announcer on ESPN is the Red Sox radio announcer/color guy Dave O'Brien.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:45 PM

Ian, now you're making me wish I had a laptop.

[ Ian ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:47 PM

fc appears to be laying low tonight. Texy's probably still working and i'm late to the party.

[ Ian ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:47 PM

laptops are overrated......LOL

[ jules ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:48 PM

Still working? That's a late day. I'm glad that when I do have to work overtime, I can do it at home.

Good D.

Twins won, no score in the TB game in the 3rd.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:49 PM

I'm hoping Bethie is able to join us tonight -- last night's deluge produced 10 inches of rain where she lives, so she may still be treading water.

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:51 PM

FYYO!

[ Ian ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:51 PM

Speaking of rain and hurricanes, it looks like new orleans might get hit with Gustav.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:51 PM

In my small experience, Ian, laptops aren't as user friendly. The keyboard is more compact (throws me off) and I can't stand those things that substitute for the external mouse.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:52 PM

Ian, I saw that 5-day projection for Gustav and my heart just sank. Three years almost to the day...

[ jules ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:52 PM

ecl, you can get a wireless mouse for a laptop. Mine has a good-sized keyboard, but thankfully I never type a lot when I'm working.

[ Ian ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:53 PM

ecl i can't type on a regular keyboard anymore without looking. on the laptop i don't even need to look at the keys. I've gotten used to it.

I don't mind the mouse pad thing on here at all. I use my mouse if I'm using the laptop at a desk but that's a rare occasion.

To you it might not be user friendly, but it sure is nice to be laying in bed using the computer.

[ jules ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:54 PM

Isn't that true, Ian. My laptop lives on the coffee table.

[ Ian ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:56 PM

Mine pretty much lives on the coffee table right here too. If I bring it into bed, it's usually to watch a movie

[ jules ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:57 PM

I can't believe that Giambi is growing the pornstache again./shallow

[ Ian ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:59 PM

I've got my going now too.

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:59 PM

It's part of the pedophile look he's going for, Jules.

[ jules ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:59 PM

dammit. dammit.

[ Ian ] says:
on August 27, 2008 7:59 PM

that should say mine going now too.

[ jules ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:00 PM

We sooooooooooo do not need that commercial. /more shallow

[ Ian ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:01 PM

The Giambino is just getting his pornstache ready for the offseason since it will come a little earlier this year.

[ jules ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:01 PM

LOL, Ian. They'll be golfing at the end of September, watching the playoffs on TV.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:03 PM

Oh no doubt that's a nice convenience, Ian, to play on the computer while in bed! I'm pretty set in my ways on keyboard size, though, as I've been typing on regular keyboards (first typewriters, then computers) since 1974. As for the mouse pad thing, I honestly can't even work them. I'm lightning fast with a regular mouse, but the few times I've used my sister's laptop with mouse pad, I was totally lost...it was all I could do to maneuver the stupid thing well enough to open and close links. Not.My.Style.At.All!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:05 PM

Ewwww to the Giambino and his Pornstache. Even before I jumped the fence I couldn't stand him. One of my cousins has had a thing about him for years and I simply don't understand why. To each their own, I guess, but eeewwwww.

[ Ian ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:06 PM

That waitress looked hot that was under Abreu's arm :D

[ Ian ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:07 PM

Mine's not a pornstache, its a porntee (porn goatee).

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:08 PM

How is that different than the goatees sported by many ballplayers, Ian? Is it one of those really pointy ones?

[ Ian ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:11 PM

It's just a normal goatee like some of the ballplayers. It's not thick like Youk's goatee.

I trim it every few days to keep it looking neat. Plus the f'ing thing comes in blond and dark.

[ Bethie ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:11 PM

Howdy all.

Been busy checking out the standing water in my yard, so I'm a few innings late.

But just in time for a Jed double!! Woot!

[ Ian ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:12 PM

I do it every year once a year for a few months and I hadn't done it this year so it was time.

[ Ian ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:12 PM

Bethie did you catch a fish in your front yard yet.

[ Bethie ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:15 PM

Not yet Ian. But saw a muskrat for the first time in my life. Can I say ewwwww.

There is no telling what kind of critters we are going to discover once the water recedes.

Anybody who wants to see pictures of the watah....you can click on my name.

[ lone1c ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:17 PM

Hey all--have to catch the game on TV tonight, so it makes live-threading tough (the computer is three rooms down from the TV).

Nice to hear the Gammons--not so nice to hear the other announcers continuing to ballwash the MFYs.

(And freaky Jed stat of the night--he leads the team in August RBI? How is this possible?)

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:17 PM

Wow. That`s a lot of water!

[ lone1c ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:18 PM

Yikes. There could be a lot of interesting debris. (You'll need to take some "after" photos.)

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:19 PM

It's possible because he's the anti-lugo. And because dorks are taking over the world. ;)

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:20 PM

Blond and dark, Ian? Or salt and pepper? :::ducks and flees:::

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:20 PM

Hey everyone, just got it. Don't know if this is gonna be a good game...

Excited/nervous to see Byrd though, first time I've been able to watch him pitch as a Sox.

[ Ian ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:20 PM

Bay's two RBI in the first inning actually pushed him ahead of Lowrie.

[ Karen ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:20 PM

Have you seen snakes crossing the road yet? That's what grossed me out. We have blue crabs in the parking lot, and tapping on the door at night. We get them after the storms. They gross me out. Also they cause flat tires with their claws, lost 4 tires last hurricane.

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:20 PM

*got in

[ Ian ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:21 PM

BLOND & DARK. I'll remember that when you want a video ;)

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:24 PM

Bethie, how deep is the standing water? Hard to tell from the pictures.

Reminds me of up here in 2004. When the water receded from the roadsides (about 10 feet deep in places), the chainlink fences were full of paper, plastic bags, mud and kudzu. I don't recall any critter stories.

[ Bethie ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:24 PM

No snakes yet Karen. THANK GOD! But if it does happen, you'll hear me screaming where you are. :)

Guess we couldn't be lucky enough to have A-rod be sucktastic 2 nights in a row?!?!?!?

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:25 PM

Karen, are the crabs too polluted by the yucky water to get yourself some free seafood? Cracking up at the idea of them tapping on the door at night. Maybe they just want some shelter...

[ Bethie ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:26 PM

I have no idea how deep it is, Faith. I know before the rain, it was a 6 foot drop from the top of the river bank down to the water.

Now you can't even tell where the river is. Or even tell it's a good 40-60 feet away from my back porch. Crazy.

[ Ian ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:26 PM

Maybe the crab just needed to use your restroom

[ Piney61 ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:26 PM

Byrd please don't be a douche.

[ Ian ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:27 PM

And there's Piney to remind us there's a baseball game going on.

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:28 PM

SHIT

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:28 PM

DAMN!!!

[ Ian ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:28 PM

dang it. pleats almost had that

[ Mac ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:28 PM

DAMMIT.

[ Bethie ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:29 PM

Shit....

Double shit....

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:29 PM

Yikes, Bethie. That is HUGE if it spread 50 feet and you can't see the actual location of the river. Wow.

Awww, Pedey.

Shut up YES announcers.

[ Mary ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:29 PM

DAMNIT.

[ Ian ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:30 PM
Shit....

Double shit....

I think that's actually what the crabs wanted to do in Karen's bathroom

[ Mary ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:30 PM

Thank you Jacobah.

[ Mac ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:31 PM

I can has runs please?

[ Piney61 ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:32 PM

No worries, it's only tied. Just gotta score a few and get the lead back.

[ Piney61 ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:32 PM

Random Prediction Alert --

Coco is going deep sometime in this game. I'm not sure when but he's gonna go deep.

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:33 PM

We can got more runs off of Ponson, no problem. He's Beefy.

[ Piney61 ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:34 PM

Ouch tough strikeout there for Coco...BS call at 3-1

[ Mac ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:35 PM

Jacoby!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:35 PM

Piney, I'll be looking forward to Coco's big moment. :::grins:::

[ Piney61 ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:36 PM

If I'm wrong, it's not the first time I've been wrong and it certainly won't be the last

[ Mac ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:36 PM

Pedie!

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:36 PM

Merriman is an idiot if he thinks he can play through that.

Pedie!

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:36 PM

Nice hit and run guys!

[ Ian ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:37 PM

WEEI.com has learned that the Red Sox will be playing teams from the National League East as their inter-league foes next season. Among the teams the Red Sox will host are the Mets and Florida Marlins, while one of the inter-league road destinations for the Sox will be Washington D.C.

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:43 PM

YAY RBIBB!

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:43 PM

Yay 3-2

Come on NEW GUY!

[ Mary ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:43 PM

I love RBIs from walks :)

[ Ian ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:43 PM

walk was as good as a hit there y ouk

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:43 PM

Yay for easy runs!

[ Mac ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:43 PM

Bases-loaded walk. I'll take it.

C'mon, New Guy!

[ Karen ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:43 PM

Ooh, Ian, I'm happy to hear that. I like the Mets, and my cousin has season tickets in D.C., that would be good.

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:44 PM

Sac fly!

[ Ian ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:44 PM

Good job new guy!!

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:44 PM

That'll work, NG!

[ Mac ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:44 PM

New Guy!

[ Mary ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:44 PM

Bay!!

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:45 PM

Again, less than five innings for the Yankee pitcher. Very nice job guys.

[ Piney61 ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:47 PM

Hey it's the Chocolate Rain guy :P

[ Piney61 ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:52 PM

*crickets*

Where is everyone?

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:52 PM

I hate demon.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:52 PM

Just finished dinner, Piney (yes, I know it's late). Was busy with knife and fork.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:54 PM

I can hardly believe that I used to find Demon attractive. And that was back when I was still a NYY fan and he was still in Boston. My, how times have changed.

[ Mary ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:54 PM

I'm here, but I'm also writing.

*heh heh heh*

[ starr4 ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:54 PM

I'm here, lurking and working.

[ Mary ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:55 PM

DUSTIN!

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:55 PM

Leapin Pleats in Cleats!

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:55 PM

the more they show that diving into the stands play, the more obvious it becomes that he didn't need to dive into the stands.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:55 PM

:::giggles and winks at Mary:::

[ Mac ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:56 PM

Here, but also following the PawSox game on GameDay.

Pedie!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:57 PM

Yeah, I've been browsing on line along with eating.

[ Mary ] says:
on August 27, 2008 8:57 PM

ecl - don't worry, it shall be up tonight. Probably before the game is done.
It's short and its cute :)
(And I'm not talking about Dustin haha)

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 27, 2008 9:02 PM

Well that was rather quick

[ Ian ] says:
on August 27, 2008 9:04 PM

I was making some phone calls getting softball scores

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 27, 2008 9:04 PM

Late post: I had a *feeling* that you were talking about...writing, Mary. :::cracks up again:::

And dammit, I missed watching Coco bat because I got distracted elsewhere on line. Still waiting for the HR...

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 27, 2008 9:04 PM

You didn't miss much because he was up for all of 5 seconds, ecl.

[ Mary ] says:
on August 27, 2008 9:06 PM

And dammit, I missed watching Coco bat because I got distracted elsewhere on line. Still waiting for the HR...

I promise I can make it up to you HAHA

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 27, 2008 9:13 PM

Our Pirate>Their Pirate

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 27, 2008 9:14 PM

Oh...Mary...

:::dies:::

(you know I just love Coco, of course)

[ Adam ] says:
on August 27, 2008 9:16 PM

How about Paul Byrd!!! Who would've thought. Maybe he got his HGH shipment in. He really only hurt himself with those 2 2 out walks.

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 27, 2008 9:16 PM

That was a crap call for Ells.

[ Mary ] says:
on August 27, 2008 9:17 PM

It's actually almost done. I'm going to have Katie proofread it for me, then it should be up :D

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 27, 2008 9:24 PM

Please have a 1-2-3 inning, MDC.

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 27, 2008 9:26 PM

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 27, 2008 9:51 PM

Ok I have to admit that I'm not exactly a huge Coco fan, but he has been endearing himself to me lately. Go Coco!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 27, 2008 9:51 PM

Yep Mary...I was watching closely, that's why I wasn't posting. :::grins:::

[ Ian ] says:
on August 27, 2008 9:52 PM

Coco's playing for his job again. He always seems to do well when that happens.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 27, 2008 9:52 PM

The endearing, Jessi...that's how it starts...watch out!

[ Piney61 ] says:
on August 27, 2008 9:52 PM

Okay so Coco probably isn't gonna go deep...mehh that's fine by me.

As for Muppetry, we got ourselves Mike Timlin here :P

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 27, 2008 9:53 PM

Yea ecl, him rushing to Jacoby's side after that painful catch pretty much started my slight love for Coco.

[ Mary ] says:
on August 27, 2008 9:54 PM

Coco is starting to wiggle his way into my heart, too.

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 27, 2008 9:54 PM

Jacoco FTW!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 27, 2008 9:54 PM

Jessi, that was what catapulted me right over the fence. He had been growing on me for a little while.

[ Mac ] says:
on August 27, 2008 9:55 PM

Jacoby!!!

[ Mary ] says:
on August 27, 2008 9:55 PM

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 27, 2008 9:56 PM

YEEESSSS!!!!

:::jumps up and down:::

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 27, 2008 9:57 PM

I swear to god, I was gonna type how awesome it would be for Pedie to get a GS and then stopped, in fear of jinxing it.

That was freakin amazing!

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 27, 2008 9:57 PM

You can't have his babies, because I'm going to have them. ;)

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 27, 2008 9:58 PM

Ooooh, my :::jumping up and down::: comment didn't post, so here it is.

YEEEESSSS!!!

And the so-called fans are heading for the exits. HA.

[ Mac ] says:
on August 27, 2008 9:58 PM

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 27, 2008 9:58 PM

Clearing out again. wow.

[ Ian ] says:
on August 27, 2008 9:58 PM

Well whoever loses between you two can settle for having my babies. LOL.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 27, 2008 9:59 PM

(oh, it did post...but it bore repeating, didn't it?)

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 27, 2008 9:59 PM

Who said we needed Manny to beat the Yanks? Cause we are doing a fine job of killing them at the moment.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 27, 2008 10:00 PM

And interestingly, Jessi, Manny has been on a cold streak as of late. Yeah, I think we're doing fine all by ourselves.

[ Mary ] says:
on August 27, 2008 10:00 PM

Cathy - we both can has his babies?

I would be fine with Jed either way :P

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 27, 2008 10:01 PM

It's kind of fun to be watching this on YES and hear the announcers' reactions.

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 27, 2008 10:02 PM

Works for me, Mary. We can share Pedie, you can have Jed, and I can have Justin.

[ Ian ] says:
on August 27, 2008 10:05 PM

But where does that leave me?

[ Mary ] says:
on August 27, 2008 10:06 PM

Sounds like a plan to me :)

[ Ian ] says:
on August 27, 2008 10:07 PM

And if you said Amalie Benjamin, I'd be ok with that.

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 27, 2008 10:08 PM

Actually I was going to say Michelle Damon...

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 27, 2008 10:08 PM

Ahahahaaaa, Cathy!

[ Piney61 ] says:
on August 27, 2008 10:10 PM

Random tangent unrelated to everything else: I was perusing google just seeing what I would get if I googled Jacoco. I got this entry from ST about the battle of the centerfielders and the blogger at hand(I think it was at UmpBump) and was talking of how inseperable they were then...and then said blogger linked to this

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mRmKzxhMzwo

And I can't stop laughing.

[ jules ] says:
on August 27, 2008 10:11 PM

Hey y'all! I just got done with dinner. What a Grand Slam by Pedroia!

WOW!

[ Mac ] says:
on August 27, 2008 10:12 PM

Piney - HAHAHAHAHA! I think I just died laughing.

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 27, 2008 10:13 PM

OMG Piney! That is fantastic!

[ Piney61 ] says:
on August 27, 2008 10:13 PM

It's the mental imagery that's killing me right now.

[ jules ] says:
on August 27, 2008 10:14 PM

Piney! I used to watch that show all the time when I was a kid. Awesome.

[ Ian ] says:
on August 27, 2008 10:17 PM

That was before Penny Marshall started smoking 2 packs a day and put on the poundage.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 27, 2008 10:19 PM

That shot of Paps with his arms spread wide -- too funny!

[ jules ] says:
on August 27, 2008 10:19 PM

dammit.

I know they're not going to win, I just don't like Giambi doing anything good.

[ Ian ] says:
on August 27, 2008 10:19 PM

Nice job Don Orsillo.

The Yankees haven't had a hit since the 5th inning.......booooom off the bat of Giambi

[ Mary ] says:
on August 27, 2008 10:19 PM

Piney - BAHAHAHAHA oh man that is fantastic.

And you're right, it's the mental image.

(Sorry, i got a text mid-comment, so this is a bit late :X )

[ Mac ] says:
on August 27, 2008 10:22 PM

Dammit Giambi. Dammit Nady. Dammit Matsui.

[ Karen ] says:
on August 27, 2008 10:24 PM

So good.

[ Jessi ] says:
on August 27, 2008 10:24 PM

Too much to ask for a nice easy 9th?

[ Cathy ] says:
on August 27, 2008 10:24 PM

That's the game! How satisfying was that?

[ Mac ] says:
on August 27, 2008 10:24 PM

GREAT win!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on August 27, 2008 10:25 PM

What a great way to end the day!

Ha, YES announcers -- the Yanks are NOT going to straighten things out, don't you get it yet?

[ Karen ] says:
on August 27, 2008 10:27 PM

Have to remember tomorrow is a day game, keep forgetting. A sweep would be so good.
Night all.

[ Karen ] says:
on August 27, 2008 10:30 PM

Ooh, Varitek interview on Espn.com. Happy thoughts.
