Here. Hopefully this game will be good. So far in the last week there has been a tropical storm, I got laid off, and now just found out my cousin took his life last night. Any more bad news? I can't handle losing.
My dilemma is that watching ESPN means being in the other room, away from my computer, so I'd be unable to hang out with y'all except between innings and during pitching changes. And...I often multitask on the computer during the game. So I'll just bite the bullet and stay here, I guess.
Dammit, Abreu, why did you have to use your arm there?
Wah wah wah - I have my iPhone that isn't loading pages, MLB.tv that isn't working on this laptop and I can't even get Gameday to work. Can I annoy everyone for occasional recaps of what's happening?
In my small experience, Ian, laptops aren't as user friendly. The keyboard is more compact (throws me off) and I can't stand those things that substitute for the external mouse.
Oh no doubt that's a nice convenience, Ian, to play on the computer while in bed! I'm pretty set in my ways on keyboard size, though, as I've been typing on regular keyboards (first typewriters, then computers) since 1974. As for the mouse pad thing, I honestly can't even work them. I'm lightning fast with a regular mouse, but the few times I've used my sister's laptop with mouse pad, I was totally lost...it was all I could do to maneuver the stupid thing well enough to open and close links. Not.My.Style.At.All!
Ewwww to the Giambino and his Pornstache. Even before I jumped the fence I couldn't stand him. One of my cousins has had a thing about him for years and I simply don't understand why. To each their own, I guess, but eeewwwww.
Have you seen snakes crossing the road yet? That's what grossed me out. We have blue crabs in the parking lot, and tapping on the door at night. We get them after the storms. They gross me out. Also they cause flat tires with their claws, lost 4 tires last hurricane.
Bethie, how deep is the standing water? Hard to tell from the pictures.
Reminds me of up here in 2004. When the water receded from the roadsides (about 10 feet deep in places), the chainlink fences were full of paper, plastic bags, mud and kudzu. I don't recall any critter stories.
Karen, are the crabs too polluted by the yucky water to get yourself some free seafood? Cracking up at the idea of them tapping on the door at night. Maybe they just want some shelter...
WEEI.com has learned that the Red Sox will be playing teams from the National League East as their inter-league foes next season. Among the teams the Red Sox will host are the Mets and Florida Marlins, while one of the inter-league road destinations for the Sox will be Washington D.C.
I can hardly believe that I used to find Demon attractive. And that was back when I was still a NYY fan and he was still in Boston. My, how times have changed.
Random tangent unrelated to everything else: I was perusing google just seeing what I would get if I googled Jacoco. I got this entry from ST about the battle of the centerfielders and the blogger at hand(I think it was at UmpBump) and was talking of how inseperable they were then...and then said blogger linked to this

Hey y'all!
I saw Kotsay taking BP during the pre-game show. I wonder if we'll see him tonight.
