Have you seen the paplebon reanacting dirty dancing Texas Gal? Its a much watch and must post. Its worse than pedeys dancing.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 12, 2008 7:09 PM

Hey people...rain delay, eh? I was afraid of that when TWC switched to the Northeastern radar during Ike coverage. Guess I'll hunker down and eat dinner and follow the situation in Texas until things get rolling in Boston.

GO SOX!

[ jules ] says:
on September 12, 2008 7:24 PM

Yay! Game thread.

Texy, thanks for the link to Pap's dancing--hysterical.

Too bad we're in a rain delay.

I hope that everyone in Ike's path has gotten the heck out of Dodge. Too dangerous to take a chance.

[ jules ] says:
on September 12, 2008 7:29 PM

Pleats:

"I've swung like this, dude, since I was like 10," Pedroia said. "I didn't really develop it; that's just what it was. I've hit like this my whole life. There's nothing real complicated about it. I just try to see the ball and hit it. If I get a hit, I get a hit. If I get out, I get out. There's no secret about it."

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 12, 2008 7:35 PM

Jules, I'm watching the coverage now and am quite dismayed at how bad the damage is already. An entire branch of my extended family lives in Houston, including my favorite cousin, and the only one who evacuated was in a mandatory area.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 12, 2008 7:36 PM

By the way, Gameday has changed the game status from rain delay to warmup, so maybe things will get started soon. I'm amazed, considering the radar.

[ Karen ] says:
on September 12, 2008 7:39 PM

Warming up would be good. I am so tired tonight, got almost no sleep. Can't sleep in tomorrow since there is an early game.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 12, 2008 7:39 PM

Hi all! So ready to watch some Sox baseball. I hope the rain delay doesn't last much longer.

ecl - I'm sorry to hear that. I hope your extended family stays safe.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 12, 2008 7:44 PM

I'm totally sleep deprived and spaced out myself. But I can't tear myself away from our guys.

Thanks, Mac. They seem to have a pretty blase' and nonchalant attitude towards it, perhaps because Rita blew by them without much damage a couple of years ago. I think they're in for quite a ride, even though they're not right by the coast).

And...we have mlb.tv starting up. YAY!

[ Karen ] says:
on September 12, 2008 7:45 PM

Don and Remy, music to my ears.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 12, 2008 7:45 PM

HA -- they decided to just go ahead and play in the rain, it sounds like.

[ jules ] says:
on September 12, 2008 7:45 PM

Looks like we have a game.

We need to win this series against the Jays. I'm still smarting after the losses to the Rays.

Go Wake!

[ jules ] says:
on September 12, 2008 7:46 PM

They're playing in the rain. Remy saying that they have to play because tomorrow is a double header.

ecl, I hope your family is safe!

[ Mac ] says:
on September 12, 2008 7:47 PM

WaKe

[ Karen ] says:
on September 12, 2008 7:47 PM

Playing in rain, doesn't look like fun.

[ Liza ] says:
on September 12, 2008 7:48 PM

Necessary disclaimer: I like the Jays far more than I should, so I'll be either scarce or commenting with excessive adulation directed at both sides throughout this entire series.

That said, go Sox.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on September 12, 2008 7:51 PM

Nice game to be at if you want a box seats...lots of empty ones

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 12, 2008 7:51 PM

Thanks, jules. I'm sure I'll have news about them before the end of the weekend. Cousins in NY are keeping in touch with them and relaying news to the rest of the family

HA, Liza! Isn't it fun having those mixed feelings?

Nice 1-2-3 inning...now bring on the bats!

[ Liza ] says:
on September 12, 2008 7:52 PM

Ecl, the best will be Sunday. I'm going to the game and it's lined up for Lester/Halladay--my favorite pitcher on each staff.

Nice, Coco!

[ Lindsay ] says:
on September 12, 2008 7:52 PM

CRISP!!!!

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 12, 2008 7:53 PM

Come on, guys. Let's get some runs on the board quickly today, OK?

[ Lindsay ] says:
on September 12, 2008 7:53 PM

now lets turn that into a double.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 12, 2008 7:53 PM

YEAH! And the hit streak continues!

[ Mac ] says:
on September 12, 2008 7:53 PM

Liza - haha. I know what you mean. I go through the same thing when it's a Sox/A's series.

COCO!!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 12, 2008 7:54 PM

Whoops, not a hit, charged as an error. He'll get his hit later. :::grins:::

[ Lindsay ] says:
on September 12, 2008 7:54 PM

I'm going to game 1 tomorrow. I hope it doesnt rain because if it does, and they decide to play it on sunday; i'm screwed because I'm not gonna be home on sunday...i'm gonna be in Florida

[ Lindsay ] says:
on September 12, 2008 7:55 PM

I'm going to be missing a week of Red Sox. I dont know how i'll live.

[ Liza ] says:
on September 12, 2008 7:55 PM

Purcey striking out Pedie. CONFLICTING EMOTIONS. They hurt.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on September 12, 2008 7:56 PM

anyone watch the pre game show?

TC was saying that since papi has been with the sox he has had a homer in about every 14 at bats. However since he's come back from the dl; its been abt every 30 bats.

[ Karen ] says:
on September 12, 2008 7:56 PM

Lindsay if you are going to be in Florida, while they play the rays you can watch it on tv.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on September 12, 2008 7:57 PM

Karen, thats what I was hoping for. But i will actually be on a cruise in the Caribbean. But it leaves from Florida so I'm hoping that I'll be able to watch the rays/sox game.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 12, 2008 7:58 PM

Lindsay - I didn't see it; I don't get the pre game/postgame stuff on mlb.tv. But that is interesting.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 12, 2008 7:58 PM

Lindsay, no rain in tomorrow's forecast up there.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on September 12, 2008 7:58 PM

yay! that just made my day ecl!

[ Karen ] says:
on September 12, 2008 7:59 PM

I can't wait till next week, 3 days in Tampa with the Sox. So good. Beckett is pitching Tuesday.

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 12, 2008 7:59 PM

Dangit.

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:00 PM

By the way--anybody have any clue what rain does to a knuckleball?

[ Lindsay ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:00 PM

Another interesting stat that I saw today with this:

Dustin Pedroia has swung the bat 1,114 times this season. He has connected with 1,027 pitches and missed 87. Think about that. It’s the best percentage in the majors this season.

it was posted in the extra bases blog on boston.com

[ Piney61 ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:01 PM

I get the feeling that they're gonna call this after like 5-6 innings...I could be wrong though

[ Lindsay ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:02 PM

I agree Piney. That is if the rain doesnt stop of course.

[ Piney61 ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:04 PM

Yeah so in conclusion here, the Red Sox need to score early.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:05 PM

WaKKe

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:05 PM

Piney: Scoring for the Red Sox tonight should be like voting in Daley's Chicago: done early and often.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:06 PM

Deja Vu?

[ Lindsay ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:07 PM

I take that back. 2 innings complete.

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:07 PM

Thank you, Coco.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:08 PM

Lindsay - Thankfully not.

[ Angie ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:09 PM

Just got here.

Damn it's really pouring at Fenway.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:10 PM

I'm trying to figure out from the radar how quickly it'll move through and out...

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:13 PM

Hmmm, Don and Remy aren't terribly optimistic about the weather clearing...

[ Angie ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:13 PM

I'm thinking the rain in Boston is the same system (sorry I don't know the technical terms) that we just got in Maryland and it's just moving up the coast. If it is, it only rained for about an hour here.

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:13 PM

ecl: Weather forecasts at weather.com are saying it won't clear up until about 2.00 am.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:15 PM

Mikey!

[ Karen ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:17 PM

As much as I am not a fan of the Trop, at least there won't be any rain delays while I'm there. Although not looking forward to the cowbells.
Last time I was there, there was a thunderstorm during the game, so loud you could hear it over the fans.

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:18 PM

Angie: The system (right term) is hitting New England worse than it's hitting Boston. It's been raining since at least 5:00 over in CT--and maybe even earlier than that.

Karen: How about some earplugs?

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:18 PM

Erm, obviously I meant "worse than it's hitting Baltimore."

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:20 PM

Yay, LowRBI!

[ Mac ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:20 PM

LowRBI!

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:23 PM

Thank you, NESN, but I most certainly did NOT need to see a shot of Crisp using his crotch as a towel to wipe off his bat!

[ Angie ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:23 PM

Yay Bay!

lone, I don't know much about weather, I was just trying to bring some optimism. But I really hope either it stops raining or they just play in it because nobody likes a rain delay.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:26 PM

:::cracks up at lone:::

I missed it!

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:28 PM

ecl: Glad that somebody got humor value out of it--I know I certainly didn't.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:28 PM

Then again, lone, you probably don't have a thing about Coco the way I do. :::winks:::

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:30 PM

Not so much, ecl, not so much.

And nice play by Lowrie!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:31 PM

Yes, Jed continues to impress greatly!

[ Mac ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:33 PM

Yup. Stanford did make a nice play there.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:36 PM

Yeah, Pedey Doubles!

[ Mac ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:36 PM

Pedie!!!

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:36 PM

Elf Power!

[ Angie ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:37 PM

Yes! Drew is coming back tomorrow.

And nice Pedie!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:39 PM

TB at NYY is postponed, for those who didn't know.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:40 PM

Thanks for the info, ecl.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:40 PM

You're welcome, Mac.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:42 PM

I see that the Tigers/White Sox game has also been postponed, along with the Braves/Mets game.

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:46 PM

Mac: Brewers at Phillies have also been postponed.

And Wakey smiling is a Wonderful Thing, isnt it?

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:46 PM

The other two games must have been postponed just moments after I looked, then -- they were still in delay when I saw the TB/NYY info.

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:48 PM

Good job, Wakey--and Jay-Bay gets a nod of appreciation, too.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:48 PM

lone - I forgot about that. At this point, I don't think I'd be surprised to see that Twins/Orioles game postponed.

And yes, Wake smiling is a wonderful thing.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:49 PM

Ah...scratch that. Twins/Orioles has also been postponed.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:51 PM

With the whole Northeast rained out, it's pretty amazing that we're managing to play this game.

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:52 PM

ecl: We'd have postponed, too, if we didn't have a doubleheader tomorrow and a game on Sunday afternoon.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:53 PM

Oh ha ha haaaa, that looked hilarious!

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:53 PM

WTF?

[ Mac ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:54 PM

My MLB.tv froze for a minute. What happened?

[ Karen ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:54 PM

Yeah, I'm talking to a friend in Worcester. She's says its cold and nasty out.

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:55 PM

So long as the baseball doesn't become a pinball when we're on the field, I guess I'll take it.

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:55 PM

Mac: A line drive from Bay decided to play pinball when it got to Rolen at 3B, and then flew out of the shortstop's hand.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:56 PM

Karen, I'd say rainy and 63 is pretty nasty.

Lone, you've got a point there.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:57 PM

Thanks, lone.

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:58 PM

Go, MDC band, go!

[ Mac ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:58 PM

Bullpen band. Always great to hear. :)

[ Liza ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:58 PM

JED!

Also, the pen sounds amazing.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:58 PM

The bullpen band needs to be recorded. So much fun!

Jed!!!

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:59 PM

LowRBI strikes again!

[ Karen ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:59 PM

Loving the bullpen band.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:59 PM

LowRBI!!!

Again, he drives in his long lost brother.

[ Angie ] says:
on September 12, 2008 8:59 PM

Damn I love that bullpen band...or symphony apparently.

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:00 PM

Why hasn't somebody gotten the MDCB into the recording studio yet?

[ Liza ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:01 PM

Size 18? o.0

[ Angie ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:01 PM

Yeah Lowrie! 2 RBI. Note to Tito: Please don't bring back Lugo for a long long time.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:01 PM

Hey, I've got an idea! Maybe someone could talk the Boston Symphony percussion section into donating some used "equipment" and some brief lessons. Can you imagine the possibilities?

[ Liza ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:01 PM

Whoops--sorry, I put a smiley in there. Force of habit.

[ Karen ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:01 PM

The band is more entertaining. Although Paps isn't out there yet. When I sat in the bleachers in May, they shake when the bullpen band play.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:04 PM

Those are some strong arms working the "instruments," Karen. No wonder the bleachers shake!

[ Piney61 ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:04 PM

I really would love to see them guest spot on the Boston Pops or something. The guys are really in tune with the rhythm

[ Karen ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:09 PM

The sox are on espn as bonus coverage right now.

[ Angie ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:09 PM

I wonder if they practice...

[ Karen ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:11 PM

After commercial, espn is going back to sox game. I guess everyone else was rained out.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:11 PM

Now my mlb.tv is freezing up for a second here and there...

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:11 PM

I am finally home! Christ, bad stupid drivers and buckets of rain are not a good combination. Two dumbasses wound up in median and the left lane had to be shut down (on a two-lane highway). I was not pleased at all.

So how's the game?

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:12 PM

Good 1-2-3 for Wake.

Can we have the bottom of the 5th and then call the game, please?

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:13 PM

Karen, what was scheduled on ESPN?

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:13 PM

Jessi: The basic story of the game--LowRBI scored his long-lost big brother twice. 2-0 Sox, entering the top of the fifth.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:13 PM

Ah, never mind, Karen -- it was supposed to be the TB/NYY game.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:15 PM

Ooooh, it's the NESN feed. Think I'll go relax on the bed and watch it in there for a bit...back in a few!

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:15 PM

Lone1c - thanks, good to see Jed driving in his brother again.

[ Karen ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:16 PM

Yeah, happy it's nesn and not espn announcers.

[ Angie ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:18 PM

Sweet NESN on ESPN. I shall go watch that.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:19 PM

One perk of watching it on the TV and not in here is that I'm not tempted to multitask, so I end up actually watching the game. I'm not so good at that when I'm sitting at this computer.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:20 PM

Okay, back to the TV...

[ Angie ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:21 PM

That's exactly what happens to me, ecl. It's so easy to get distracted on the computer.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:25 PM

WaKKKKe

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:25 PM

WaKKKKe!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:26 PM

Oh Angie, I'm just PITIFUL when I'm on the computer. News, politics, weather, e-mail, you name it, and all of a sudden I look up and I missed an entire inning!

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:29 PM

And in the Because I Was Bored Department Of Useless But Unusual Statistics:

LowRBI has now driven in 42 runs. 13 of those are his LLBB.

[ Angie ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:31 PM

Haha yup happens to me all the time. It's really bad when I'm trying to write a paper for school and I'm sitting at the computer for 2 hours trying to do an assignment that I could have done in 45 minutes.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:31 PM

hahaha, lone. Thanks, though. I was wondering how many of those 42 runs were his long lost big brother. (I just didn't know where to look it up.)

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:33 PM

I wonder if Jed and Bay are aware that folks are talking about the "brother" thing?

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:34 PM

I had to do it the hard way--I looked at the scoring summaries from Aug. 1 on.

Of course, the number of RBIs Lowrie has that scored Bay is significantly higher--maybe even half. So I think this is completely valid proof that we really need to keep these two close to one another in the batting order! [/snark]

[ Mac ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:36 PM

Nice 1-2-3 inning, Wake.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:36 PM

A 5-pitch inning -- I love it!

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:36 PM

Another nice inning for Wakey.

ecl: Are people talking about it other than here?

And why is this game still going???

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:38 PM

Lone, some of the folks here hang out together on LJ, and I think the LLBB thing has spread via that community.

Maybe our guys are fish in disguise and don't mind getting wet?

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:39 PM

Lowrie!

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:40 PM

Lowrie being Pedey!

[ Liza ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:40 PM

I want them to call it. I'm secretly hoping for a single-admission doubleheader on Sunday.

[ Liza ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:44 PM

LITSCH. HEARTS HEARTS HEARTS.

Why thank you, Scooter!

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:44 PM

Coco!!!

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:50 PM

PAPI!!!!!!

[ Liza ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:50 PM

Papi!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:50 PM

PAPI POWER!!!!!

[ Mac ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:50 PM

PAPI!!!!!!

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:50 PM

PAPI!!!!!!!!

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:51 PM

We're certainly a coherent bunch tonight, huh?

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:51 PM

Liza, maybe I'm just stupid because I've never been to a live game, but if they called it this late, wouldn't the score stand as final?

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:52 PM

Late coherent thought: Yeah Jed and Coco!!!

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:55 PM

ecl: Just checked.

Games that end after 4.5 (with the home team ahead) or after 5 (with the visitors ahead or score tied) are considered official.

But they'd have to call a rain delay first, and wait at least 30 minutes before calling it.

[ Liza ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:56 PM

Yep--it counts after 4.5 or 5 innings (depending on who is winning), I believe. Can others back me up on this?

But I still hope. :P

[ Karen ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:56 PM

Watching Paps warm up on tv good, will be better live.

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 12, 2008 9:57 PM

Much as I'd love to see you have a doubleheader Sunday, Liza, I think our Sox don't want to have to play five games in three days. . . .

[ Mac ] says:
on September 12, 2008 10:00 PM

Very nice 1-2-3 inning, Wake!

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 12, 2008 10:00 PM

Yay, Wakey! A good strong outing is just what he--and the Sox--needed tonight.

Liza, what I'm confused about is why they would pick up the game as part of a doubleheader if it's considered an official game if they were to call it now.

I love going to the mlb homepage and seeing Lowrie's name there =]

("Lowrie leading the way at soggy Fenway")

Exactly. I was just doing some serious wishful thinking.

Sorry if what I said was confusing. Feel free to simply ignore it--I've been a little scatterbrained all day.

Liza, I thought it was just me...I've been sleep deprived for several days now and am very spaced out and confused.

Jessi, it took a little while for me to warm up to Jed, but now he totally makes me smile whenever I see him.

I ordered a Varitek shirt to bring with me to Tampa, and paid extra for rush shipping, but since they don't deliver until afternoons here, I won't get it until after I leave Monday. Stinks. Guess I will be wearing, Beckett and Papelbon shirts.

I've always like Jed, he's seems like such a nice guy. I really love our rookies this year. I pretty much fell in love with Masterson when I saw him smile. I was at that game he pitched against the Yankees and before it started he was going around and signing autographs for all the kids. I could see his smile from 20 rows back.

Nice AB by Lowrie!

Catcher gets run support for his pitcher!

Does he get to have chicken parm, or is that only Dougie?

Jessi, Jed and Masterson both have absolutely terrific smiles. :::smiling myself:::

Jessi: It is a wonderful thing seeing all of the young pups out there (Pap, Pedey, Lester, Ellsbury, Buchholz, Lowrie, Masterson, Bowden).

But I think Pedey and Lowrie have made the biggest difference to the club these past two years, because they've helped to stabilize two positions that have been turnstiles for us the last couple of years. (At this point, I'm in full agreement if the Sox try to put this plan into motion.

[ ecl1958 ] says:

lone? I think you can safely rest assured that Lugo won't be back. But I really wish that people would stop being mean to him.

/apologizes for the moment of seriosity.

[ lone1c ] says:

I'd also be on board with this plan, too.

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 12, 2008 10:23 PM

ecl: I agree, we shouldn't be mean to him, but just this week in the Herald, he basically implied he should be the starter next year.

I don't have a problem with a player who struggles, but I do have a problem with a player who thinks he's awesome when he's not.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 12, 2008 10:25 PM

I think he realizes he's not awesome...I've read plenty of interviews where he comes out and says that he's beaten the odds his entire career. He knows that, and he keeps trying really really hard. So I don't think it's so much a question of him thinking he's awesome, I think he really wants to play and maybe he doesn't know how to express that in so many words.

[ Karen ] says:

Yes, good win. Going to get some much needed sleep.

Last out the hard way--and a nice night for Wake, Cash, and LowRBI.

Also, good start for the series.

Agreed. A nice night for Wake, Cash Money and Jed.

And if y'all are gone already, will see you back here at lunchtime tomorrow.

[ lone1c ] says:

OK--I haven't seen as many interviews with Lugo.

I guess also a large part of the frustration is that ridiculous contract that Epstein signed him to creating unrealistic expectations on my part. (If you're going to be paid three times as much as Youk, you want to see some results, and we just haven't gotten it from him.

It's probably unfair, but that's the way it is, for me at least.
