I am mentally preparing myself for the obnoxious ringing of thousands of cowbells.

Go Sox!

[ Cathy ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:01 PM

That is a very red shirt, Don.

Let's go Red Sox!

[ Mac ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:03 PM

Hi all! Looking forward to see the Sox, but definitely not the cowbells. Those things must die.

GO SOX!

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:06 PM

Apparently they're giving more cowbells out on Wednesday. . . . (I don't get it, unless they're giving out earplugs to go along with the cowbells.)

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:07 PM

Hey all -- I'm so psyched for this series! I guess everyone is...

[ Cathy ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:08 PM

You would think the Rays would say something about the cowbells being you know incredibly annoying. They all must be so sick of them by now.

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:08 PM

Way to ask the tough questions Heidi.

Asking Evan Longoria: Do you guys want to win the division.

What the hell does she want him to say? No, we want the Red Sox to win.

[ Avery ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:08 PM

Hi all! Cow bells are loud.

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:09 PM

How could anyone be annoyed with them at their games? There's no one there usually

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:12 PM

First pitch - Just a bitttttttttttttttttttttt outside

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:12 PM

Ian: I don't think NESN hired Heidi for her hard-hitting interviewing skills.

As for the cowbells, I'd be liable to smack somebody next to me if they started waving those damn cowbells.

And did I mention how much I loathe the Trop? It looks like something that was just thrown together.

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:13 PM

Four-pitch walk. Awesome way to start the game.

Ian: More or less outside than Feely's first field goal attempt yesterday?

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:13 PM

lone it was when they built it. They built back in the late 80's to try and lure the San Francisco Giants there. I used to go to hockey games there back in college.

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:14 PM

his first pitch hit the backstop

[ Cathy ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:14 PM

Heh. 8 straight balls.

[ fc ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:14 PM

To borrow a line from Paul Byrd - is this real?

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:15 PM

lone did you ever get on to my site this morning. It was an issue with a plugin because a lot of people were getting it. So i got rid of the plugin.

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:15 PM

I'll take it!

[ joyosity ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:15 PM

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:15 PM

Hehe...c'mon Papi! :::spitclapclap:::

[ Mac ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:15 PM

Back to back walks to start the game. I'll take it.

[ Angie ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:16 PM

Two walks in a row to start off the game. I like this a lot.

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:16 PM

Ian: I saw Kazmir's pitch. I didn't see Feely's FG attempt. (My brother described it as "EPIC. KICKER. FAIL." but I don't know exactly how epic we're talking about. . . .

[ Cathy ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:16 PM

PAPI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[ fc ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:16 PM

WHOA PAPI

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:16 PM

BIG PAPI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[ joyosity ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:17 PM

That's the Papi I remember!

[ Mac ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:17 PM

PAPI!!!!

THAT is a great way to start the game.

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:17 PM

PAPI is BAAAAAAAACK!

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:17 PM

PAPI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:17 PM

lone his kick was awful. if he wasn't the fill-in kicker for them, he'd probably be out of a job.

[ Angie ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:18 PM

Papi!!!! This is going to be a VERY good series.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:18 PM

(back from watching the replay and taking some time to gloat)

I had a feeling he was going to do that. :::grins:::

[ fc ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:18 PM

What I was going to say before I was so happily interrupted, was Hey, Ian! I've been at Fenway part of the time, also a little sick - aw hell, who am I kidding, I've been sick and going to Fenway anyway.

[ Bethie ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:19 PM

WOAH PAPI!! WOO HOO!!

Hey y'all! This is a good start.

[ Cathy ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:19 PM

[ Ian ] says:

Wow.

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:19 PM

MIKEYYYYY

[ fc ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:19 PM

If this is how Lowell "plays through pain" I'll take it.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:19 PM

:::jumps up and down:::

Oh MIKEY!!!

[ Jennie ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:20 PM

So far I am liking this! :)

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:20 PM

Home runs are good for his bad hip. He can take his time running around the bases.

At least know you can rest at home fc and watch the Sox

[ Avery ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:20 PM

Good job RED SOX

[ Angie ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:20 PM

Stupid mlb.tv delay. I saw all your cheers before I saw what happened. But...

Damn Mikey!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:20 PM

P.S. Hi Bethie! :::waves merrily:::

[ Bethie ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:21 PM

Hey Faith! Sorry I haven't responded to your e-mails yet...today was awful!

[ fc ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:22 PM

Yes: Home runs, walks, and weak Rays' grounders to third for our Mikey, please.

[ Erin ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:23 PM

Hi i'm new

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:24 PM

that would you Erin-3 i think if the other two show up.

and welcome. snacks are to the left and refreshments to the right. adult beverages if you're old enough are in the fridge.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:24 PM

Welcome, Erin!

[ Erin ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:25 PM

they should start games like this more often

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:25 PM

I'll bet you anything that the Rays announcers complain about Dice-K's strike zone.

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:25 PM

Hey Erin!

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:25 PM

that should have said - that would make you Erin-3

[ Cathy ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:26 PM

Welcome, Erin.

[ Erin ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:26 PM

THanks Ian, I made need a few adult beverages since Diasuke is starting

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:27 PM

How about "New New Erin?"

[ Angie ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:27 PM

Hi Erin!

Dear Dice-K, please don't give me a nervous breakdown tonight like you do every other game.

[ Erin3 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:27 PM

1 out on 1 pitch, that's unusual.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:28 PM

Welcome, Erin-3!

Bethie, no problem. I'm sorry you had a bad day. Hopefully our guys will make you forget all about it.

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:28 PM

That could work too lone.

And erin, we all need a few adult beverages when he pitches.

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:28 PM

"That wasn't a strike in the top of the first though"

I called it! And they are now complaining about a call in the Jays game.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:29 PM

Ian, I'm so whupped from work that if I have an adult beverage I'll be asleep in front of this computer by the 5th inning.

[ Erin ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:29 PM

Another Erin?

Hey Folks. Not watching the game because I'm doing French Homework.

Go Sox!

[ Mac ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:29 PM

Dice-K

[ fc ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:30 PM

Oh, WHY must we endure a replay of Wed.'s debacle?

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:30 PM

hmmmmm french homework or the Red Sox? french homework or the Red Sox.

I know what I would choose.

I'm too lazy to get off my ass to get myself an adult beverage.

[ Erin3 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:31 PM

Erins are popular in here I guess

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:32 PM

I do think that is the most popular name here.

That was a crap call by the ump

[ Mac ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:32 PM

That looked like a strike.

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:32 PM

Damn and that should've been a strike-out.

[ Erin ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:32 PM

Well the French class it like an honors class (6 credits instead of the usual 3) so I have to keep up. Plus I have an exam next week.

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:34 PM

STOP NIBBLING PLEASE

[ Erin3 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:35 PM

It drives me crazy that he just doesn't GO AFTER people.

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:35 PM

Damn it. Get an out.

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:35 PM

Erin: Bonne chance avec ton examen !

Dice-K: Arręte-le!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:35 PM

Aw, c'mon, Dice, quit it!

[ Mac ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:36 PM

C'mon, Daisuke. GET THE OUT.

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:36 PM

ok now throw that inside breaking ball.

[ Erin ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:37 PM

For those watching how loud are the cowbells and are there a lot of people there?

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:38 PM

they were loud earlier. it's not sold out i can tell you that much

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:38 PM

Ughh

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:38 PM

and it appears there are more red sox fans than rays fans.

now the cowbells are loud.

[ Erin3 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:39 PM

Seriously 27 pitches

[ fc ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:39 PM

Atta boy YOOOUUK

[ joyosity ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:39 PM

YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUK!!!!

[ Jennie ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:39 PM

YOUK!!!!!!

[ Mac ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:39 PM

Way to go, YOOOUK.

[ Erin ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:39 PM

27 pitches this inning?

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:39 PM

Youkk!!

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:39 PM

Thank you, Youk.

Dice-K, use this time to think about what you've done and why you should never do it again.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:39 PM

:::whew:::

Thanks, Youk.

[ Erin3 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:40 PM

Excuse me 28

[ Angie ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:41 PM

Ian, that's usually the case in most ballparks. The sox fans are either louder or there is more of them.

I don't understand the whole cowbell thing. What's the deal with them?

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:41 PM

cowbells make noise

[ Erin3 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:42 PM

We were the majority last year in Atlanta and this year in Arlington

[ Erin ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:43 PM

Anyone else find it sad that the Rays have a good team yet they can't sell out games when its a team that isn't the Sox or Yanks?

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:43 PM

Worst. Umpire. Ever.

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:43 PM

What the hell?! Why are you handing out warnings?!

[ fc ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:43 PM

Tito needs to chill.

[ Angie ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:43 PM

Haha okay then.

[ Jennie ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:43 PM

Did Kazmir get booted? What's happening?

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:43 PM

Though this is a bigger advantage for us at least.

[ Erin3 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:43 PM

It's very rude to hit the captain Kaz

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:44 PM

They're overreacting because of the brawl a zillion games ago.

Erin, yeah, it's sad that they can't sell out games. I guess the fans aren't yet used to them being this good.

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:44 PM

it is sad but when you think about it, they haven't really been winning in the past. you'll get some bandwagon fans but it takes more than one season of winning to get fans.

Plus the economy sucks right now.

[ Erin ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:44 PM

Maybe they don't want another fight to break out.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:44 PM

Time for some Jacoco power, I say!

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:45 PM

Hmm . . . trading Tek for Ellsbury on the basepaths? Not such a bad thing, actually. (Although the out does suck.)

[ Erin ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:45 PM

sorry about that post I was responding to why they're giving out warnings. My internet went down.

[ Avery ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:45 PM

Sorry, I'm on Gameday- Tito was warned?

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:46 PM

it was a bad call by the ump but like y'all said there's some history.

It does make it harder to pitch inside now because of the warnings.

he does fc, he was definitely fired up about that and rightfully so. I was actually waiting for Maddon to go off on him.

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:46 PM

Both benches were warned after Tek was hit.

[ joyosity ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:47 PM

bugger

[ Jennie ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:47 PM

FUCK! That was ugly. :(

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:47 PM

Dangit.

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:47 PM

Damn it

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:47 PM

we really need to stop giving teams outs

[ Angie ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:48 PM

Damnit they tagged his head. Good try though Jacoby

[ Erin3 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:48 PM

Oh Jacoco

[ Mac ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:48 PM

Damnit.

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:48 PM

Especially when the umps are giving the other team free outs, too.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:49 PM

:::sigh:::

[ Mac ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:50 PM

I guess this is gonna be a game where the umps are made of fail?

[ Bethie ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:50 PM

I will be happy if Dice-K doesn't revert to Sir Walks-a-lot tonight.

Cause if he does I might have to kill him. :)

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:51 PM

How bout this. Hip hip Jorge Posada is still crying about Pedro Martinez.

On another topic, Posada voiced anger toward Pedro Martinez for the 2003 brawl between the Yankees and the Red Sox during the AL Championship Series.

"I thought he was going to hit me in the head with a bat, after we had the fight and he pushed Don Zimmer. It was ridiculous. I mean, he throws at Karim Garcia because he's losing the game. I mean, there's no class," Posada said.

[ Erin3 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:51 PM

Did he pitch like this in Japan? I know he had a higher pitch count there.

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:52 PM

Japan was a lot different for him. He only had to pitch once every 6 days so that meant he could go longer in the games.

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:52 PM

If Dice-K keeps nibbling, I'm gonna sic a bunch of piranhas on him.

[ Erin3 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:54 PM

I think he should've adjusted by now. Josh Beckett did after his first year in AL.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:55 PM

Dice-KK

[ jules ] says:

Wait a minute--is that our bullpen sitting on folding chairs ON THE FIELD????

[ Avery ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:59 PM

Hey Ian, whenever I go www.soxanddawgs.com a thing pops up that says: You Are Banned For Spam or for making inflammatory remarks .
I never post there, just read it. Can you tell me what I did? (Sorry to bring that up here, but...)

[ Erin ] says:
on September 15, 2008 7:59 PM

So does that there will be no band?

[ fc ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:00 PM

Sure, the band can play: Cowbells!

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:00 PM

That problem should be fixed now. It wasn't just you. For some reason the plugin I was using to ban spammers and the like was picking up all addresses and banning them.

I got rid of the plugin and I hope things are fine now.

[ Jennie ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:00 PM

I get the same error on www.soxsanddawgs.com.

[ Erin3 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:00 PM

Tropicana kind of doesn't have a bullpen, per say...

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:01 PM

and no need for the www.

[ joyosity ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:01 PM

Yay for easy plays for Mikey. =)

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:01 PM

So I just finished off the bottom third of a Ben and Jerry's cookie dough ice cream (I know, I'm a pig) and there wa s no dough! Not one bite! And I am very upset at this huge waste of calories.

I knew I should've had the Cherry Garcia one...

[ Jennie ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:01 PM

failure

[ Erin3 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:02 PM

17 pitches for that inning, not bad...

if you go there now and get it let me know because you shouldn't.

you may have to clear the cache in your browser.

so when you go to my site (and it's not right) just hit CTRL & F5 at the same time.

[ jules ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:03 PM

Sorry for the double post.

Ian, did you post video? I haven't had much time on the computer today (just during a break in my training class).

I'm going to check it out!

[ Erin3 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:04 PM

That's unacceptable Jessi, I would file a complain with B&J if I were you. My Fish Food got all melted when we lost power :(.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:04 PM

Ben and Jerry's is so expensive that I don't dare indulge. Instead I substitute Blue Bunny Peanut Butter Panic or Edy's Loaded Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup. Decadence galore, and one never has to worry about there not being the listed ingredients.

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:05 PM

I did post some video of it this morning.

It's the 7th down on the front page.

[ Erin3 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:05 PM

That Edy's sounds good.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:06 PM

ecl - I've never heard of those brands. Is it only available on the East Coast?

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:06 PM

Erin3 - It is a disgrace. I was so looking forward to a great chunk of cookie dough, but no such luck. I'm sorry about your Fish Food, that is some good food right there.

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:06 PM

If y'all have an issue with my site as far as the banned thing and we're not in a game thread, y'all can always email me through this link to get my address.

now back to baseball.

[ Angie ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:07 PM

Mmm Edy's all the way. And the local ice cream shops are always good.

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:08 PM

coldstone rocks

[ Erin ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:08 PM

Has anyone made their own ice cream? Its hard work but its worth it.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:08 PM

I'm not sure, Mac. I never heard of Blue Bunny until very recently, Edy's a little bit earlier. I live in North Carolina, so they could be regional.

Erin3, the Edy's is simply divine. They have a bunch of flavors, but that one is my favorite. The ice cream itself seems to be peanut butter and chocolate combined, and there are chunks of peanut butter and swirls of frozen fudge. Mmmm....

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:09 PM

Thanks for the tip, Ian.

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:10 PM

Mhmm I love Cold Stone, but I hate saying the names of the flavors - they're kinda embarrassing. I don't enjoy walking up to a stranger and saying "'Cookie Doughn't You Want Some"

Ian, is Coldstone one of those places where the extras are mixed into the ice cream on a cold slab?

[ jules ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:10 PM

Mac, Edy's is the east coast version of Dryers.

Ian, you are awesome--great videos!

[ Erin3 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:10 PM

Oh that is right up my ally ecl

[ Erin ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:11 PM

Coldstone is great! I had their birthday cake ice cream.

[ Angie ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:11 PM

I made some ice cream at a summer camp a really long time ago. It was so good.

[ Erin3 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:12 PM

no coldstone down here

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:12 PM

yes ecl it is one of those places.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:12 PM

31 flavors ftw. :P

jules - Thanks. Dryers, I'm familiar with.

ecl - Yes, Coldstone is one of those kinds of places.

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:12 PM

i have 2 cold stone's within 10 minutes of me in West haven

[ joyosity ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:13 PM

If you're ever in the Cincinnati area, you must try Graeter's black raspberry chip. It's to die for.

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:13 PM

and now to wake up fc, can we please talk about baseball (i'm kidding by the way).

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:14 PM

SHEEEEEEEEEEEEEIT DICE-K.

[ jules ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:14 PM

dammit. At least there was no one on base.

No more of that, Dice-K.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:14 PM

:::grrrr::::

[ Mac ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:14 PM

Aw crap.

Please don't ever do that again, Daisuke.

[ fc ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:14 PM

Haha Ian. I was just sitting here quietly thinking about ice cream.

[ Erin3 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:14 PM

at least it was a solo

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:14 PM

and another note non-baseball of course, how great was Tina Fey as Sarah Palin???

[ fc ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:15 PM

Hey, at least it was a just solo shot.

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:15 PM

now why would you be sitting here thinking about ice cream? I have to wonder.

[ Angie ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:15 PM

Aw damn at least no one was on base. I totally missed the entire top half of the 3rd inning but I guess nothing really happened.

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:16 PM

i know you like the DP more. :D

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:16 PM

Ian, they look like twins.

[ Erin ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:16 PM

Ian- Tina Fey was amazing.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:17 PM

Ian - She was brilliant, as always.

[ Erin ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:17 PM

Sadly though the opening was the best part about the whole show that night.

[ fc ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:17 PM

Behave yourself, Ian. You're not the only blogger who can ban people.

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:18 PM

That was Bay-utiful. And it was a catwalk homerun to boot

[ Jennie ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:18 PM

BAY!!!

[ joyosity ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:18 PM

Cool! Go Bay-bay!

[ Jessi ] says:

[ Erin3 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:19 PM

way to go J-Bay

[ fc ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:19 PM

Can I just say, JASON BAY IS MY FAVORITE CANADIAN.

With apologies to Neil Young.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:19 PM

BAY!!

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:19 PM

I can't ban anyone anymore fc. I wasn't banning people and it was still banning tons of people from my site. I was wondering why my numbers were down.

[ Angie ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:19 PM

Woahh a homerun? You don't see that often. Go Bayy

[ fc ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:20 PM

Relax, Ian, it was a joke.
Clearly not a good one.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:20 PM

Did that ball even come down?

[ Angie ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:20 PM

I mean you don't see a catwalk homerun often.

[ Cathy ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:21 PM

JASON BAY IS MY FAVORITE CANADIAN.

:(

kidding.

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:22 PM

Mac: No.

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:23 PM

it was a good one fc that i actually got.

my apologies that my response sounded aholish.

[ Erin ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:23 PM

Is Tampa still talking about building a new ballpark?

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:26 PM

it is high it is far, it's hit the fuck out of the ballpark

[ joyosity ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:26 PM

This team is made of awesome! Go Tek!

[ fc ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:26 PM

A 2-run shot from Tek. Beautiful.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:26 PM

TEK!!!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:26 PM

Home Run Derby!!!!

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:26 PM

Go, Captain, Go!

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:26 PM

[ Erin ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:26 PM

Sweet.

[ Jennie ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:26 PM

TEK!!!

That being said, let's save some runs for tomorrow.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:27 PM

It's a Home Run Derby.

[ fc ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:27 PM

Let's wear the crap out of their bullpen tonight.

[ Angie ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:27 PM

Nice Tek! 4 homers so far.

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:28 PM

thank you kazmir for not hustling to first base

[ fc ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:28 PM

Kazmir: HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:28 PM

Jacoby!!

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:28 PM

fc that's hard to do when you have 16 or so pitchers on your roster. but I like your thinking.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:28 PM

LOLKazmir.

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:29 PM

Wow. Kazmir can't even get the force-out at first.

And Jennie: Actually, I think we need to save the runs for Wednesday when Wake takes the mound. . . .

[ Erin ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:29 PM

Isn't Kazmir usually good?

[ Angie ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:30 PM

Kazmir tonight= fail.

I'm ready for some Jacoco power.

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:30 PM

yes he is usually pretty decent

[ Erin3 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:30 PM

ugh i missed the fireworks from Tek

[ fc ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:30 PM

Ian - shows you what I know about TB. But let's beat up a few of 'em anyway, just for fun.

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:31 PM

that should end the night for the kaz

[ Mac ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:31 PM

Jacoco power. :D

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:31 PM

fc: It's just the September call-ups have bloated the roster so they can carry more pitchers.

[ Erin ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:31 PM

Anyone up in the pen for the Rays?

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:31 PM

Cya Kaz!

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:31 PM

Kazmir should be glad he doesn't play in new york. they would have booed the shit out of him.

[ Erin3 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:32 PM

Bye Bye Kaz

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:33 PM

both teams have 16 pitchers on their rosters right now.

[ fc ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:34 PM

Speaking of callups...

[ jules ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:35 PM

I go to pick my daughter up from volleyball practice and missed the next three runs!

I'll take it.

nooby pitcher. Let's get 'em.

Like that, Pleats!

[ Mac ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:35 PM

PEDIE!!!

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:35 PM

boy Pedroia is rude. Greeting that rookie with a RBI single.

I KID I KID

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:35 PM

ELF POWER!!!!!!

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:36 PM

Pleats!

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:36 PM

it's not ELF POWER, it's the POWER OF THE PLEATS!!!

[ Liza ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:36 PM

I'd like to give Kazmir two hugs. One to comfort him and one in thanks. Eight runs (so far), 3+ innings. Yesplz.

Also, hi Talbot. You're really cool. Keep giving up hits please.

[ fc ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:37 PM

Well, then, 11 in the pen. Still hard to hurt them too bad - but I maintain that just doing away with the starter and getting to the pen early is a good thing.

[ Erin ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:37 PM

My fantasy team is doing pretty well tonight.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:37 PM

It's not the POWER OF THE PLEATS. It's the POWER OF THE REAL #15.

[ Angie ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:37 PM

I bet Karen is having an awesome time at the game right now.

[ fc ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:38 PM

You're all wrong. It's THE LASER SHOW.

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:38 PM

Ian: You mean DP channels his lack of acting ability into awesome hitting power?

[ joyosity ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:39 PM

Wow, Papi actually beat out a throw?

[ Liza ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:39 PM

Er, nine runs.

Or make it ten.

THIS IS RIDICULOUS.

[ cathy ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:39 PM

YOUK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:39 PM

YOOOOOUUUUUKKKK can do it too

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:39 PM

Papi!

[ joyosity ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:40 PM

Okay, this is just getting surreal.... Go Sox!

[ Liza ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:40 PM

Gah, I lied, Pedie was Talbot's.

YOUUUUUUK!

[ Mac ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:40 PM

YOUK!!!!

[ jules ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:40 PM

YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUK!

Welcome to the majors, kid.

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:40 PM

YOUKKKKKK

[ fc ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:40 PM

I repeat my earlier question: Is this real?

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:40 PM

The Sox are making up for their lack of HR production in one night!

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:40 PM

that's exactly what i am saying lone.

[ Angie ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:41 PM

Ahaha payback is a bitch! Right Tampa?

[ Jennie ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:41 PM

Not to get too cocky but....

WELCOME TO SEPTEMBER TAMPA BAY.

What? You're NOT going to play "Sweet Caroline" after the game tonight???

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:41 PM

Back! Computer decided to act up, but amazingly, we're still in the same inning. This is DELICIOUS!

[ Mac ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:41 PM

I am liking this game VERY MUCH.

[ Erin3 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:41 PM

wow wow wow

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:42 PM

don i'll give you 10 bucks to go get it.

[ jules ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:42 PM

Yes, fc, it is. It's payback for the previous six games at the Trop.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:42 PM

Ian - What?

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:43 PM

Hmm--sounds like we're going to lose Jerry and Don soon. . . .

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:43 PM

Jennie i read something somewhere about karma would catch up to them for doing that.

I think karma has spoken

[ jules ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:43 PM

Off to cook dinner for the fam.

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:43 PM

Sorry mac - that's what RemDawg said to Don about Bay's home run ball that's still in the catwalk.

[ fc ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:44 PM

I wouldn't get to the gloating stage just yet. But DAMN this is fun.

[ Cathy ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:44 PM

Bad Dice-k, bad! Throw strikes!

[ fc ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:44 PM

Will Dice-K get a warning?

[ Erin3 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:45 PM

Jason Bay's homer is not worthy enough for video on Mlb Gameday? How rude.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:46 PM

I want them to post ALL of our scoring plays on Gameday, seeing as how I missed several while rebooting my computer twice!

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:46 PM

Erin3: It's hard to put up a video when you can't actually show the ball going out. It just kind of went up in the air and stayed there. . . .

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:46 PM

there wouldn't be a warning for him fc. they could have tossed him without merit if they had thought he hit him on purpose

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:47 PM

since both benches were warned

[ Erin3 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:48 PM

lone: will have to watch Extra Innings then

[ Mac ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:48 PM

Ian - That's hilarious. (about Remy and Don)

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:50 PM

Dice-KKKK

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:50 PM

Nice, Dice-KKKK! I'll hold off on sending the piranhas for now.

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:51 PM

Dice-5K

[ Mac ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:52 PM

Dice-KKKKK

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:52 PM

Dice-KKKKK!

[ fc ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:53 PM

I wonder if a ball that landed on the catwalk has ever rolled off during a game.

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:53 PM

mmmmmmmmm pizza sandwich

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:55 PM

No idea, fc--although I suspect a ball that got stuck up there would have to be dislodged by something else (like another ball) in order to come down.

By the way, how nice would it be if the Sox could homer for the cycle tonight?

[ Erin3 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:55 PM

Mitch Talbot....I love this guy!

[ Avery ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:56 PM

Wow- a big fourth inning- I went to do homework and I found a pleasant surprise!

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:56 PM

They usually send someone up there to get the ball down.

If they had a full house, fan noise could maybe bring it down.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:57 PM

Cute shot of the bullpen guys. They look so lost without their instruments...

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:57 PM

Jacoby just wanted to be cool like the other guys.

[ joyosity ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:57 PM

Coby! What a game!

[ Mac ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:57 PM

Or someone could throw a cowbell up there to knock it down.

JACOBY!!!!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:57 PM

JACOBY!!!

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:58 PM

Jacoby being Youk!

[ Erin3 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:58 PM

Jacoco!!!

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:58 PM

NO WAY JACOBY!!!

[ Erin ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:58 PM

That was awesome.

[ Cathy ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:58 PM

JACOBY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[ fc ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:58 PM

Jacoby Ellsbury, Power Hitter!

And Ian, that's it! You've just discovered the REAL purpose of the cowbells.

[ Avery ] says:
on September 15, 2008 8:59 PM

Wow- huge night for the sox offense! Lets go JaCOCO

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:00 PM

Coco is an on-base MACHINE.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:00 PM

Awww, Coco must be tired of walking. I'm sure he'd rather be sending one over the outfield wall...

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:00 PM

6 home runs by 6different hitters. It's up to Coco, Jeb and Pleats to finish off the 9-spot

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:01 PM

P.S. But of course I'll take Coco on base any way I can get him. :::sly wink:::

[ Angie ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:01 PM

Damn Pedie I was expecting a home run.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:01 PM

Wouldn't that be great, Ian? They're all capable of it, too!

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:01 PM

I must say, this makes watching Dice-K a whole lot less stressful.

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:02 PM

scary thing is right now the red sox have 9 hits. only jeb doesn't have a hit. Ellsbury has 2.

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:04 PM

is it really that hard for him to put the ball over the plate a little. for fuck's sake, he's up by 11 runs.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:06 PM

Aw crap.

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:06 PM

Dice-K: So lo the BAA, so high the blood pressure watching him.

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:08 PM

dice-k made me get an adult beverage

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:11 PM

how long til the B squad takes the field for the Red Sox?

[ Mac ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:11 PM

Dice-KKKKKK

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:11 PM

He's getting into Houdini mode, I see.

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:11 PM

95 pitches for Dice-KKKKKK so far.

[ Erin3 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:11 PM

:Spanish accent: I want to pinch

[ Kim ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:13 PM

My husband said (in reference to Dice-K) "It's almost like he thinks they will give him more points for degree of difficulty."

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:14 PM

Erin3: Please don't quote the Honda Element crab. My brother was doing that for days the last time I was visiting home, and it still drives me crazy. . . .

[ Mac ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:14 PM

Dice-KKKKKKK.

[ Erin3 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:14 PM

:Spanish Accent: no pinch no pinch no pinch

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:15 PM

i love that honda element crab. he kicks arse

[ joyosity ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:15 PM

Kim: lol. nice with the olympics reference. ;)

[ Erin3 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:15 PM

lol sorry, it's just so appropriate

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:16 PM

I love 24oz beers. It's like two for the price of 1. and I can say i only had 1 beer

[ Erin3 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:17 PM

nice

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:18 PM

might get to see Kottaras play again tonight

[ joyosity ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:18 PM

Can I just say how weird it is to see Chris Smith without a wig, tiara, and hot pink homecoming dress now?

[ Erin3 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:18 PM

Talbot is still out there?

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:19 PM

At this point, they might as well leave him in!

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:19 PM

talbot's bending over and taking one for the team.

YOUKKKKKKKKKK

[ Mac ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:20 PM

YOUK!!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:21 PM

If we were playing against anyone other than the Rays, I'd be feeling sorry for them right about now.

[ fc ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:21 PM

DO NOT HIT OUR MIKEY.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:22 PM

DO NOT BREAK MIKEY.

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:22 PM

Same here ecl, but what they did do us in Boston is still fresh in my mind.

Don't break Lowell!!

[ fc ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:22 PM

Mikey's already partially broken.

[ Erin3 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:24 PM

What the hell is going on...my gameday is frozen!

[ Avery ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:24 PM

Is game day lagging? It says Ortiz is at bat...

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:24 PM

come on jed, you're the only one without a hit who started

[ Avery ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:24 PM

btw ian, soxanddawgs is still saying i was a bad girl :(

My Gameday is frozen too, Erin3. It still has Papi getting ready to bat.

Jessi, everything concerning the Rays this year is why I don't feel sorry for them, not one bit. HA!

[ Liza ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:25 PM

He doesn't need a hit. Three walks is okay with him.

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:26 PM

try hitting CTRL F5 on my site and clearing your cache.

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:26 PM

Ian: It's hard to get a hit when you only have one at-bat in four PAs!

[ Erin3 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:27 PM

even gameday mini is stuck on Papi

[ fc ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:28 PM

Gameday is paralyzed with disbelief.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:29 PM

ESPN's Gamecast is working, but it's a little behind.

fc - LOL.

[ Liza ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:30 PM

Smith. Heh. Heh. Heh.

Now I'll only ever be able to picture him in a pink minidress.

[ Avery ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:31 PM

Thanks for the help Ian- I'm all set now.
Gameday start working so i know what is happening :)

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:31 PM

Chris Smith: Now making his tenth appearance not involving a dress.

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:32 PM

avery let me know if the CTRL F5 on my site to flush your cache didn't work. I have approximately no people banned on my site as I wiped everything out to make sure to prevent this problem.

I like when people get their 1st MLB hit.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:32 PM

Chris Smith. Heh. I can only picture him in a pink dress with a blonde wig and a tiara now.

[ Avery ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:33 PM

ESPN gamecast definitely says Hinske is playing 3rd base... for the sox.

[ Erin ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:33 PM

Have Don and Remy talk about the Rookie hazing at all?

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:33 PM

well you beat me to it avery. thanks for letting me know again though.

fc, gameday may have started drinking a little too early tonight.

[ Liza ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:33 PM

They haven't said anything, Erin.

Aw. I miss Hinske.

[ Kim ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:33 PM

Ian, what is your site again?

[ Avery ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:33 PM

I have a mac, so the F5 thing doesn't wokr, but I reset teh cache, which worked. Thanks so much- I thought I'd done something bad and was so confused!

[ fc ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:34 PM

Hinske at 3rd for the Sox is almost more believable than Cash at 3rd.

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:34 PM

Erin i've been watching since 5:30, not one mention of the hazing on NESN that I can remember.

[ Jennie ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:34 PM

Sure is quiet and echoey in that stadium!

[ Kim ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:35 PM

I blame the pink dress.

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:35 PM

click on my name Kim. that will bring you there.

Ahh avery, i don't know how to flush on a MAC but i'm glad it's working again.

Did Hinske ever see time at third for the Sox, I can't remember.

[ Erin ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:35 PM

WTF the Rays have cheerleaders?

[ Jennie ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:35 PM

I jinxed us.

Where did the 13th run come from?

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:36 PM

I saw Billy Joel there in the early 90's. We sat at the top of that place. Concerts are cool in there

[ Liza ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:36 PM

Smith could only picture himself in a tiara. He got distracted.

BREATHE THROUGH YOUR EYELIDS, CHRIS.

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:36 PM

Erin: They're a low-budget team. They only have A cheerleader.

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:37 PM

I love Don Orsillo. If you're going to get revenge from the fight this is the guy to hit (Gomes)

[ Erin ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:37 PM

One cheerleader too many.

[ fc ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:37 PM

Concerts may be cool there, but can Billy Joel be cool anywhere?

[ Mac ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:37 PM

I left the room for a moment. How'd the two runs score?

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:38 PM

on a 2-run homer by Ruggiano

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:38 PM

Mac: Homer by Ruggiano to right.

[ Avery ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:39 PM

Is GameCast frozen now too? UGH

[ fc ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:39 PM

Elvis!

[ Mac ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:39 PM

Ian and lone - Thanks.

[ Angie ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:39 PM

Jennie: Youk batted in Papi with a double.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:40 PM

fc, once upon a time, Billy Joel was very cool. Back in the day. I have much love for his old stuff. Brings me right back to western Long Island circa 1975.

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:40 PM

Looks like MLB is having trouble keeping up--they haven't caught up with the sixth inning yet.

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:41 PM

cash is hitting for pedroia which means he might be playing third again.

[ Erin ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:41 PM

My mom says Billy Joel is always cool. Then again she went to a Catholic school and his song Only the Good die Young was banned

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:42 PM

WTF? Cash batting for Pleats!?

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:42 PM

Billy Joel was much better back then. I wouldn't go see him now.

[ fc ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:43 PM

Confession: I have a couple of Billy Joel CD's - old ones from back in the day. I LOVE - get this - New York State of Mind.

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:43 PM

Although I saw Janes Addiction somewhere in Tampa that same year and that was a much better concert. One of the best I've ever seen.

Although nothing beats a Grateful Dead concert.

[ Liza ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:43 PM

YAY Chris Carter.

Or should I say, Mr Boobs?

[ Erin ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:43 PM

Speaking of Billy Joel has anyone here seen the show Movin Out? Its pretty much a modern dance show set to Billy Joel music with a live band.

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:44 PM

where's liza? aren't all of his hits against the Rays? or is one against the Jays.

and he has a 4-game hitting streak right now too.

[ Jennie ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:45 PM

I just went to see Billy Joel last year and he was great. He was funny (said that he was sorry Billy couldn't make it, but his father is here) and played all the old songs. My brother (who was a huge fan back in the day) was impressed when I told him the set list. And the best part is that I got half priced tickets from those who thought he wasn't cool enough! :)

[ fc ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:45 PM

Janes Addiction - that's more my speed!
Never been to see the Dead. I never really 'got' them.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:45 PM

I haven't listened to him recently, Ian. But he was a local boy made good when he first came out. His first album was named after my home town, I used to eat at the restaurant that inspired "Scenes From an Italian Restaurant," the photo on the back cover of "The Stranger" was taken that restaurant, the bass player in his band was the son of my voice teacher, etc. So there were too many connections for me not to love him. Plus he played the heck out of the piano.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:46 PM

Liza - Hahaha!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:46 PM

"I've Loved These Days" will always and forever remind me of my last week of college.

[ Erin ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:46 PM

Anyone here a U2 fan?

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:47 PM

Two of the best concerts I've seen were Janes Addiction.

I saw them in Tampa that year and a few months later at The Springfield Civic Center.

I didn't really like the dead either. I went for the "experience".

another great live band is System of the Down.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:47 PM

Erin - I like U2. The older stuff, though, like The Joshua Tree album.

[ Liza ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:47 PM

Cash on third again!

[ Kim ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:48 PM

Cash is at 3rd again.

[ fc ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:48 PM

And there we are - Cashie on third.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:48 PM

Hey, has Gameday caught up with itself yet? I missed a few plays there while gabbing.

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:48 PM

Janes Addiction played the one song that has a lot of drums in it on garbage cans. one of the best thing's i've seen.

[ Erin ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:49 PM

The Joshua Tree is great. I really want to see them live in Concert.

I know they are together anymore but I'm a HUGE Abba fan.

[ Cathy ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:49 PM

I'm not a U2 fan, but I'm a Beautiful Day fan.

[ Kim ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:49 PM

Gameday is over an innning behind.

[ Erin3 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:49 PM

right here

[ Mac ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:49 PM

ecl - No. It says it just finished the top of the 6th.

[ Angie ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:49 PM

I love U2! But only their older songs, not the new "Vertigo" crap

[ ERin3 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:50 PM

Erin: I love U2 and would love to see them in concert one day

[ joyosity ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:51 PM

Okay, so in Tampa Bay, you can sit directly behind the bullpen and TOUCH THE PLAYERS? Damn those are cool seats.

[ Piney61 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:51 PM

Dude my junior year of high school I was insanely obsessive with U2...it was kinda sad. But right now I can only really listen to their older stuff along with "Vertigo" which I swear is only because of the 2004 season. My favorite song of theirs has to be "I Will Follow"

Also Cash at 3rd -- LOL WUT?

[ fc ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:51 PM

I love U2. OMG Bono is so HOTTTTT!

[ Kim ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:52 PM

Cash not looking good in foul territory.

[ fc ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:52 PM

P.S. I believe I'm now officially banned.

[ Erin3 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:52 PM

ugh:( ESPN is frozen on J Gomes and MLB is still behind

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:52 PM

that one will cost Cashie in kangaroo court

[ Erin ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:52 PM

Anyone here a fan of The Killers?

[ joyosity ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:52 PM

Haha, Cash looks so uncomfortable without his catcher's mask.

[ Kim ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:53 PM

Don & Jerry are really giving Cashie a hard time.

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:53 PM

The Killers are pretty good

[ fc ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:53 PM

Do they have some kind of cafe behind the 'bullpen'?

[ Kim ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:53 PM

Don & Jerry suggested he bring his catchers mask with him to play 3rd and maybe he can catch better if he has to flip the mask.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:53 PM

Erin - I liked their first album a little. Not so much a fan of Sam's Town.

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:54 PM

Kim - what are they saying?

[ Ian ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:54 PM

I'm surprised he didn't wear his catcher's gear out there

[ Angie ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:54 PM

I love the Killers too. They are my second favorite band next to the Beatles.

I think maybe Cash should stick with catching.

[ Erin3 ] says:
on September 15, 2008 9:54 PM

I saw the Killer last year at the Austin City Limits Festival
