I saw the Yankee game and it was too ugly for words. Kinda like that wild 19 run game against the Rangers awhile back. Both starters absolutely sucked. And that's a good thing for the Yanks, since they didn't really hit beyond the 6th (ie no clutch whatsoever on that team).
lone1c, I got there at gametime and posted that I'd be hanging out during the evening. Then just checked every now and then, wondering why absolutely no one was there. Figured everyone in the world but me is at a Labor Day cookout or something. Only got here because I lost the website for a moment and had to start from scratch. So here I am.
Cathy: Well, there is that. I guess what I'm wondering is why does he show consideration to Clay and Jon, but launch himself at Paps, Foulke, and Embree?
Mayeb he thought that Clay and Jon wouldn`t be able to support his weight, and he didn't want to risk injuring them when there were still games left to play?
LowRBI's not my invention, alas--that's from an Over the Monster poll:
Jed Lowrie is...
* LowRBI, the clean-cut God of Run-Scoring Doubles and Awesome Defense.
* A promising young hitter and budding SS who still has to prove himself over a full season.
* Probably not as good as he seems now. His defense is still suspect based on his minor league record, and he still has to prove himself offensively.
* I reserve judgment. 35 games just isn't a large enough sample to conclude anything about him.
Just read that Drews brother hit for the cycle today, good for him. Though our 2B was BETTER than a cycle awhile back (I still wish he had just stopped at first instead of going for the second double).
Ha watching the replay of the Mets/Brewers game, Gagne's pitching.
