So our local FOX affiliate, in their infinite unwisdom, is giving us CHC/MIL this afternoon. The East Coast Lady is roundly pissed. Guess I'll be hanging out here and listening on WRKO. :::sigh::: And I was SO looking forward to watching the game with Remy announcing.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 27, 2008 3:47 PM

ecl, my local FOX affiliate's got the Cubs/Brewers game as well. :( I was looking forward to the game being on television.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 27, 2008 3:54 PM

It really sucks, Mac. At least we can listen, though, and maybe I can multitask here in the kitchen. I need to do dishes really badly.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 27, 2008 3:55 PM

By the way, the game is in delay.

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 27, 2008 3:56 PM

Ugh I have the Cubs/Brewers game too. Why?! I live in NJ!

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 27, 2008 3:56 PM

Oooh the rain delay would explain it. Haha I feel much better.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 27, 2008 3:57 PM

Jessi, I would still suggest checking your local FOX listings. With FOX, one never knows. Their logic escapes me. It's not like NC is exactly near Chicago or Milwaukee, after all.

[ Angie ] says:
on September 27, 2008 3:58 PM

I have the Nationals/Phillies but I don't care enough about either team to watch.

Grr so I was going to try and pay attention to mlb gameday but it says that the game is delayed anyway.

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 27, 2008 3:58 PM

I believe we are getting the Cubs/Brewers because our game is in rain delay. One can only hope they will switch back once the Sox/Yankees begin play.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 27, 2008 4:05 PM

Phillies would be fun to watch, Angie, but I've got plenty to do around the house so I'd rather not just lounge in front of the TV unless it's our guys. The WRKO guys just said that the rain is supposed to continue for a couple more hours and there is "no anticipated start time. :::eye roll:::

Guess I'll keep the WRKO feed on and wait for further updates.

[ Angie ] says:
on September 27, 2008 4:11 PM

Boston.com says there's flooding near the dugouts and on the warning track. Not good.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 27, 2008 4:13 PM

Daaaayum...that is some righteous rain there, Angie!

[ jenny again ] says:
on September 27, 2008 4:14 PM

Watching Notre Dame football while waiting for the rain to stop. I wanna see Pedey go after the batting title from the clean-up spot today! Come on, rain, knock it off!

[ Angie ] says:
on September 27, 2008 4:15 PM

I know! I tried to find out more but I kept getting redirected to the login center because I'm not a member.

[ Trish ] says:
on September 27, 2008 4:15 PM

So I'm in a nice hotel with HDTV ... and no game, no Josh. :(

[ Cathy ] says:
on September 27, 2008 4:21 PM

I'm watching ND, too, Jenny.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 27, 2008 4:23 PM

Angie, it's free (and easy) to sign up for boston.com. I recommend it, especially if you want to get past that login center page!

Strange thing...the radar is showing the rain basically on the WESTERN edge of Boston, and plenty of clear space in points south. Unless it's just not showing on the radar for whatever reason.

[ jenny again ] says:
on September 27, 2008 4:23 PM

Cathy - I was supposed to be in South Bend today but with all my crazy work stuff, I had to give my tickets to my brother instead. D'oh! Go Irish!

[ Cathy ] says:
on September 27, 2008 4:28 PM

That sucks that you couldn't go to the game, Jenny.

YES! ! 1st and goal. Please score on this.

[ Angie ] says:
on September 27, 2008 4:29 PM

Thanks, ecl. I just registered

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 27, 2008 4:31 PM

See, Angie? Now you can read all of the articles! YAY!

Off to do my exercises while watching the Cubs game. I need my live baseball fix.

[ Karen ] says:
on September 27, 2008 4:33 PM

When I turned on fox and saw the cubs I knew it wasn't good. I like my cubs but still not a good sign. Just woke up. Keep hoping that one of these days I will wake up feeling better.

[ Kim ] says:
on September 27, 2008 4:52 PM

It is POURING here (North of Boston)

[ Liza ] says:
on September 27, 2008 4:53 PM

I want the Cubs/Brewers came--I like Lilly.

Instead they just switched to Phillies/Nats. Come on now, Fox.

[ jenny again ] says:
on September 27, 2008 5:01 PM

TOUCHDOWN, IRISH.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 27, 2008 5:10 PM

ProJo says game has been postponed. Doubleheader tomorrow.

[ Karen ] says:
on September 27, 2008 5:13 PM

Postponed. Sad now.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 27, 2008 5:13 PM

Thanks for the info, Mac. Guess my laundry will have to wait a few days.

[ Angie ] says:
on September 27, 2008 5:16 PM

Well let's hope it stops raining by tomorrow. I guess I'll do some homework...how fun.

[ Liza ] says:
on September 27, 2008 5:19 PM

Now I have no excuse to put off doing stuff I need to do. This sucks.

[ jenny again ] says:
on September 27, 2008 5:19 PM

1:35 & 7:35 p.m. tomorrow. GO SOX.

[ Cathy ] says:
on September 27, 2008 5:21 PM

Damn. I was really hoping that the game would be played today, because I have a ton of stuff I need to do tomorrow.

[ Mary ] says:
on September 27, 2008 5:21 PM

Dayum.
Anyone know yet when it's being played?

[ Mary ] says:
on September 27, 2008 5:22 PM

Oh, hahaha bad timing Mary strikes again XD
Thanks jenny!

[ meghan ] says:
on September 28, 2008 1:45 PM

they just announced 1:55...and I just realized fenway has wireless.

[ meghan ] says:
on September 28, 2008 1:53 PM

nevermind...tarp is back.

[ Angie ] says:
on September 28, 2008 2:15 PM

Now they're saying they hope to start at 2:30.

[ Karen ] says:
on September 28, 2008 2:17 PM

At the rate they are going, they are going to run into the night game. I'm watching TB lose, which is good in itself. 5-0 Detroit in the 4th.

[ Liza ] says:
on September 28, 2008 2:24 PM

Meghan, you're there? Jealous times a hundred.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 28, 2008 2:27 PM

This is why I decided to postpone doing my laundry until one of the non-baseball nights this week. I had a feeling the weather wasn't going to cooperate with the schedule.

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 28, 2008 2:33 PM

It's GAME TIME! =]

[ Karen ] says:
on September 28, 2008 2:34 PM

Hallelujah!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 28, 2008 2:34 PM

YAY!

Still haven't had breakfast (HA) so will fix it now, then rejoin the party.

[ Jennie ] says:
on September 28, 2008 2:34 PM

And we have a game!

I'm kind of frustrated now that TB is losing, but I guess, in the long run, this is good timing.

[ Angie ] says:
on September 28, 2008 2:35 PM

Finally! That kid is so cute, calling everybody Mr.

[ Karen ] says:
on September 28, 2008 2:35 PM

I have never been so happy to see the Sox. Still sad no Beckett.

[ Jennie ] says:
on September 28, 2008 2:35 PM

He started me. I had the computer on and suddenly I hear this little demonic voice - made me jump.

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 28, 2008 2:36 PM

By the way, I probably won't be posting much today. I have tons of work to do.

[ Jennie ] says:
on September 28, 2008 2:36 PM

startled, I mean.

Was that Coco?

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 28, 2008 2:37 PM

Nice Drew! Anything to rob Demon of a hit is fine by me!

[ Cathy ] says:
on September 28, 2008 2:37 PM

JD! please don't make any more sliding catches on this wet outfield.

[ Jennie ] says:
on September 28, 2008 2:37 PM

Wohoo Drew!

[ Angie ] says:
on September 28, 2008 2:38 PM

The same thing happened to me Jennie! I jumped out of my chair

[ Jennie ] says:
on September 28, 2008 2:39 PM

I'm distracted by 2 Amazing Race marathons.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 28, 2008 2:40 PM

Crap. I'm GameDay only because mlb.tv won't let me watch the game. It's saying I'm logged in on multiple computers, which I'm not.

So JD made a nice catch?

[ Jennie ] says:
on September 28, 2008 2:40 PM

I always wondered if I could "share" my password with my sister - guess there's your answer.

[ Jennie ] says:
on September 28, 2008 2:41 PM

Yes, he made a spectacular catch.

[ Jennie ] says:
on September 28, 2008 2:41 PM

Drew being Jacoby.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 28, 2008 2:42 PM

I had that happen a couple of times, Mac. Really annoying, and the tech guys were not terribly helpful. One solution seems to be to never ever just X out of mlb.com, always log out. Also, disconnecting from the Internet for awhile so it resets worked, but you probably don't want to miss that much of the game.

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 28, 2008 2:43 PM

Damn it

[ Karen ] says:
on September 28, 2008 2:44 PM

My sister and I use the same code, but she is in NV and I'm in FL.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 28, 2008 2:44 PM

I know those lineup intros sound so weird, but of course to those little kids even our brand-new rookies are "old" and have to be called "Mr."

[ Mac ] says:
on September 28, 2008 2:46 PM

Thanks, ecl. I'll try that now. I think I did this to myself, though - I was clearing the cache on my browser because I couldn't access another website. I had forgotten I was logged on to mlb.com and when I tried to log back in, I got the message saying I was logged in on multiple computers. D'oh...

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 28, 2008 2:51 PM

Yep, that's probably what did it, Mac.

Dice-KK!

[ Angie ] says:
on September 28, 2008 2:54 PM

Kind of random, but I read an article about Pedroia this morning on boston.com and it said that when he was 1 and a half he killed a goose with a baseball bat because it "bobbed into his strike zone."

http://tinyurl.com/4vorzy

[ Mac ] says:
on September 28, 2008 3:04 PM

Yay! mlb.tv's letting me watch again. ecl, thank you very much for the advice.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 28, 2008 3:10 PM

Anytime, Mac. Looks like your reset worked more quickly than mine did when it happened. That's great!

[ Cathy ] says:
on September 28, 2008 3:15 PM

Yes! Mauer is down to .328!

[ Karen ] says:
on September 28, 2008 3:18 PM

Angie, I read that article. I thought that was interesting about the goose.

[ Liza ] says:
on September 28, 2008 3:19 PM

I like Mauer, but I want Pleats to get the batting title. Mauer can be content with second place.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 28, 2008 3:20 PM

Poor little baby Dustin probably had no idea that the goose wasn't a toy. Glad his mom forgave him for that.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 28, 2008 3:27 PM

Dice, please quit walking people.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 28, 2008 3:28 PM

C'mon, Daisuke. GET THE OUTS.

[ Cathy ] says:
on September 28, 2008 3:28 PM

Where the hell was that pitch? he so struck A-rod out!

[ Angie ] says:
on September 28, 2008 3:29 PM

That was such a strike!

[ Angie ] says:
on September 28, 2008 3:32 PM

Dice-KKKKK

[ Cathy ] says:
on September 28, 2008 3:32 PM

Shit!!!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 28, 2008 3:32 PM

Awww SHIT.

[ amanda ] says:
on September 28, 2008 3:32 PM

ugh.

[ Karen ] says:
on September 28, 2008 3:33 PM

Ugh.

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 28, 2008 3:33 PM

Once again a blown ump call bites us in the rear.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 28, 2008 3:33 PM

DAMMIT.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 28, 2008 3:37 PM

C'mon, Daisuke. GET THE OUT.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 28, 2008 3:38 PM

Please?

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 28, 2008 3:38 PM

Finally. Thanks, guys.

[ Karen ] says:
on September 28, 2008 3:39 PM

Now the sox need to hit something. Please.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 28, 2008 3:41 PM

Pedie/Papi/Youk: This gives me hope.

[ Angie ] says:
on September 28, 2008 3:42 PM

Let's go Pleats!

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 28, 2008 3:42 PM

Yes, another hit for Pedie!!

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 28, 2008 3:43 PM

Pedie!!!

[ Mac ] says:
on September 28, 2008 3:43 PM

Pedie!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 28, 2008 3:43 PM

Which puts him at .327...

[ Liza ] says:
on September 28, 2008 3:46 PM

.001 behind Mauer. This is epic.

[ Avery ] says:
on September 28, 2008 3:47 PM

My dad only got one ticket, so i'm left at home. :(
But on the bright side- YAY PEDIE

[ Angie ] says:
on September 28, 2008 3:48 PM

Nice RBI Youk!

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 28, 2008 3:48 PM

Actually, it's closer than that--it's 0.0005! One more non-hit for Mauer will move him behind Pedroia.

Unfortunately, Mauer's next AB won't come for a while (but it will come).

[ Karen ] says:
on September 28, 2008 3:49 PM

Ugh. And TB pulled ahead 7-5

[ Avery ] says:
on September 28, 2008 3:49 PM

Wait, Angie, did Pedroia score? I thought he was on third...

[ Angie ] says:
on September 28, 2008 3:50 PM

Oh wow how did I see that as an RBI?

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 28, 2008 3:50 PM

Is anyone here kinda rooting for Moose? Might be his last game, his first and only attempt at 20 wins...as much as I hate NY, I don't have a thing against the guy.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 28, 2008 3:51 PM

Avery - Pedie didn't score. He just advanced to third.

[ Angie ] says:
on September 28, 2008 3:51 PM

No Avery, he didn't. I just got confused

[ Liza ] says:
on September 28, 2008 3:53 PM

Jessi, I would be, but it's against us. I would be happy for the Moose if he got his 20th, but not if it comes at the expense of a Red Sox loss. It doesn't bother me that it's the Yankees in particular, though. I'd feel the same if it was friggin' Baltimore (who, for the record, is losing 10-1 to Toronto at the moment).

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 28, 2008 3:53 PM

Jessi, is Moose retiring?

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 28, 2008 3:55 PM

Johnny Pesky is so SHARP for a man his age...and he looks and acts a lot younger than 89. Wow.

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 28, 2008 3:56 PM

From what I hear, he is definitely considering it (which is the main reason why I wouldn't mind him getting #20 today).

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 28, 2008 3:59 PM

I'm inclined to agree with Liza...not against us. Just as I don't want Bobby Abreu (the lone Yankee who I really, really like) to have good games against us.

[ Liza ] says:
on September 28, 2008 4:00 PM

Oh man, I love Don. "I think I hear Lenny Clarke in my head. Is he behind home plate or something?"

[ Mac ] says:
on September 28, 2008 4:00 PM

(late post)
Jessi - I'm not sure. I want the Sox to win, but I'm slightly rooting for Moose to get his 20th. I don't have a thing against him, either. He's one of the few Yankees players I don't dislike.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 28, 2008 4:05 PM

C'mon, Javy. GET THE OUT.

[ amanda ] says:
on September 28, 2008 4:06 PM

javy GO-Pez!

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 28, 2008 4:12 PM

Hahaha Molina and Moose looked dumb.

[ Liza ] says:
on September 28, 2008 4:15 PM

Oh Jed, that's not cool.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 28, 2008 4:15 PM

Jed must be very frustrated -- that's very out of character for him.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 28, 2008 4:16 PM

Oh wow. I don't think I've ever seen Jed that frustrated.

[ Karen ] says:
on September 28, 2008 4:17 PM

Between being bummed about no game last night, and 2 games today, I feel lazy. I guess I will have to make up for it before Thursday.

[ Jennie ] says:
on September 28, 2008 4:18 PM

What did Jed do?

[ Karen ] says:
on September 28, 2008 4:18 PM

Detroit and TB now tied in the 9th.

[ Jennie ] says:
on September 28, 2008 4:19 PM

Nevermind - I was just a few seconds behind the rest of you.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 28, 2008 4:20 PM

I'm in the same position, Karen. Totally unproductive this weekend.

[ Karen ] says:
on September 28, 2008 4:22 PM

Ok, Sox please score.

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 28, 2008 4:22 PM

Ok I'll ask (I left the room) - what did Jed do?

And, has Mauer batted yet?

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 28, 2008 4:22 PM

Jessi: Not yet--2nd batter for MIL in next half-inning.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 28, 2008 4:23 PM

Jessi - After Jed struck out, he threw down his helmet, bat, gloves onto the ground in frustration. I think he also had some words for the ump, but he wasn't thrown out of the game.

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 28, 2008 4:23 PM

Thanks lone1c!

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 28, 2008 4:24 PM

And thanks Mac!

[ Mac ] says:
on September 28, 2008 4:24 PM

You're welcome, Jessi.

[ Liza ] says:
on September 28, 2008 4:24 PM

Casilla, then Mauer, as soon as the inning break is over.

[ Liza ] says:
on September 28, 2008 4:27 PM

Kottaras running! Wheee.

[ Karen ] says:
on September 28, 2008 4:27 PM

Sad, Tek's leaving.

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 28, 2008 4:28 PM

Mac: Yeah, it's probably not the best idea, but it's better that he get some catharsis now rather than taking it into next week.

[ Liza ] says:
on September 28, 2008 4:31 PM

Mauer singled.

[ Angie ] says:
on September 28, 2008 4:32 PM

Is anybody else's mlb.tv not working? It says the services are currently unavailable and to check back later.

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 28, 2008 4:33 PM

Damn Mauer.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 28, 2008 4:33 PM

Angie, mine froze up and it took me several tries to get the broadcast going again.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 28, 2008 4:33 PM

Angie - mlb.tv's working for me.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 28, 2008 4:34 PM

I hate to hear that, Liza.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 28, 2008 4:34 PM

Dammit Mauer.

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 28, 2008 4:34 PM

Pedey has to go 4-for-4 or better to overtake Mauer now.

[ Karen ] says:
on September 28, 2008 4:36 PM

Occasionally mine has froze up, i have to shut the window and click on the game again.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 28, 2008 4:36 PM

The good news is that we have one more game in which Pedie can try to bring up his BA. MIL just went final.

[ Angie ] says:
on September 28, 2008 4:36 PM

Ok. Then I guess I'm stuck with gameday for now.

[ Karen ] says:
on September 28, 2008 4:38 PM

Rays just took 8-7 lead in the 11th.

[ Liza ] says:
on September 28, 2008 4:51 PM

...crickets...

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 28, 2008 4:52 PM

You took the words right out of my mouth, Liza.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 28, 2008 4:53 PM

Here, but I haven't been paying attention to the Sox game. Dodgers/Giants game is on television and Tim Lincecum's pitching. heh.

[ amanda ] says:
on September 28, 2008 4:53 PM

I'm too distracted by the Mets game, hoping for a rally.

[ Karen ] says:
on September 28, 2008 4:53 PM

Ugh, TB won.

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 28, 2008 4:54 PM

Right now, I'm trying to find out what happens to NYM.

They're three outs away from elimination, and down 2 runs.

[ Liza ] says:
on September 28, 2008 4:55 PM

Lincecum is awesome.

Also, JOBA. I actually wanted to see him.

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 28, 2008 4:55 PM

Of note: NYM have already used TWENTY-TWO players in this game!

[ amanda ] says:
on September 28, 2008 4:57 PM

KOTSAY!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 28, 2008 4:58 PM

I'm totally distracted myself, actually.

So much for Joba, Liza.

Mac, is Dodgers/Giants a national game?

[ amanda ] says:
on September 28, 2008 4:59 PM

Liza: I hope you didn't blink or you might have missed him.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 28, 2008 4:59 PM

Liza - Yes, he is. He's pitched 3 innings and 9 K's already. (not a perfect game though; he's given up 4 hits and 1 run.)

ecl - No. I'm in Northern California. I get the game on Comcast SportsNet.

[ Karen ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:00 PM

Ugh, cubs lost and mets are losing. Will 1 of my favs please win this weekend.

[ Jennie ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:00 PM

Mac - where are you? I'm in Alameda.

[ Liza ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:03 PM

Ha. Bruney is good for us--he blew a whole bunch of leads for them last year, right?

[ amanda ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:04 PM

Not Jed's day. . .

[ Liza ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:04 PM

THAT WAS LOW.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:04 PM

The Jedster is not pleased.

[ Cathy ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:05 PM

Oh Jeddy. That lip bite almost killed me!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:06 PM

It's about time...

[ amanda ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:06 PM

Good-bye Shea Stadium. Have a nice break, Mets. Sigh. . .

[ Liza ] says:

It was an adorable lip bite, to be honest.

Carter. No gracias.

[ Karen ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:06 PM

Yes!

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:08 PM

Wow. Two September collapses in a row for NYM, and no postseason baseball for NYC!

[ Liza ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:10 PM

Marte's pants are huge on his backside.

So now a Brewers win would clinch the wild card, but a loss would cause a one-game playoff?

[ Mac ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:11 PM

Liza - Brewers already won.

[ amanda ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:11 PM

The Brewers won.

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:11 PM

Liza: MIL won, so they win the WC, and NYM get to golf next month.

[ amanda ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:12 PM

ELLS!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:12 PM

JACOBY!!!

[ Mac ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:12 PM

Jacoby!

18-game hitting streak?

[ Karen ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:12 PM

Yeah!

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:12 PM

Ells!!!

[ Liza ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:12 PM

Joe Mauer tripled, guys. He's at .330 again.

[ Karen ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:12 PM

rain rain go away never come back

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:13 PM

Huh, Mo might need surgery and Joe is calling on him for a four-out save. Huh...

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:13 PM

Go Jacoby!

[ Mac ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:13 PM

Ugh. Damn Mauer.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:17 PM

Karen, it looks like just a little passing shower on the radar.

[ amanda ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:17 PM

Damn.

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:17 PM

And there goes the BA

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:17 PM

*I meant Batting Title.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:17 PM

He looked pretty frustrated there. I don't blame him.

[ Liza ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:18 PM

Dear ump (I forget who's got home today),
Can the Sox get a neutral ball/strike call? That'd be great.
Thanks a bunch,
Liza.

[ Karen ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:18 PM

I have seen enough rain for awhile, and it's been raining here too.

[ Liza ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:24 PM

Mauer's done at .330 for the season--the Twins won.

[ amanda ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:25 PM

Liza: it's Phil Cuzzi.

[ Liza ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:25 PM

Thanks Amanda.

Papelbon. GET OUTS. Please and thank you.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:26 PM

C'mon, Pap. GET THE OUTS.

[ amanda ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:30 PM

Crap, crap, crap.

[ Liza ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:30 PM

Pap, stop it. Stop it stop it stop it.

It must be the rain--has he ever been this wild?

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:30 PM

What is the MATTER with you, Pap?

[ Mac ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:31 PM

Pap, please get the outs. PLEASE.

[ amanda ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:32 PM

That was only his eighth walk all season.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:34 PM

Dammit. :::sigh:::

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:36 PM

This is depressing...

[ Mac ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:37 PM

Ugh.

[ Liza ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:37 PM

Fuck the rain.

[ Karen ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:41 PM

Poor Paps, he kept trying to fight off the rain. I gave up typing during that, mlb froze every time I tried.

[ amanda ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:43 PM

This game sucks & the Mets are out--what a perfect cap to a shitty week. . .

[ amanda ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:44 PM

Take that E6 my new super disliked Yankee!

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:45 PM

What happened?! I come back and the Yankees scored three runs? I thought Pap was on the mound!

[ Liza ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:45 PM

I hope Pap didn't hurt his foot kicking the ball basket (or whatever that was).

[ Karen ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:46 PM

He kicked the heater. Yeah please don't hurt yourself Paps.

[ Liza ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:48 PM

Mac, are you still watching Lincecum?

[ Mac ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:49 PM

Liza - Yes, I am. Why do you ask?

[ Liza ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:50 PM

Just wondering--I'm following on Gameday. Lots of Ks.

[ Liza ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:51 PM

Oh, yuck.

I hope Tito puts Pleats in for game two.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:51 PM

Dammit.

Well, congrats to Moose. Hopefully we can take the nightcap.

[ Jessi ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:51 PM

Ok, I cannot be upset that Moose won #20. Good for him. Now I hope he retires.

[ Liza ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:51 PM

Oh yeah. Congrats, Moose. Now go retire.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:52 PM

I heard that Coco may play this evening.

:::crosses fingers because she needs a Coco fix:::

[ Karen ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:52 PM

Ugh. I'm gonna try to get something done before the next one.

[ amanda ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:52 PM

Dinner time. Then round two.

[ Liza ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:52 PM

Ha, Jessi--great minds think alike.

[ Mac ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:54 PM

Congrats to Moose.

Hopefully we win the night game.

[ lone1c ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:54 PM

Huh--now that you mention it, wonder if the ump didn't want to see Moose get a 20-win season, too. Would certainly explain a lot.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 28, 2008 5:54 PM

Yep, time to try to be productive, or at least fix myself some real food.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 28, 2008 7:36 PM

Knock knock, anybody home? They're actually starting on time!

[ Bethie ] says:
on September 28, 2008 7:37 PM

I'm here!

I slept through the first game, so decided I might as well make an appearance for this one and try to watch.

Hey, your man Coco is starting!!!!

[ Texas Gal ] says:
on September 28, 2008 7:40 PM

New gamethread - I've been without internet, that's why the delay!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 28, 2008 7:40 PM

Hey Bethie! Haven't seen you in a minute...

You didn't miss much in the first game. It was rather depressing. Hope you had a good sleep. I'm feeling rather migrainous so hope that I can make it through the game.

Yes, I'm delighted to see that Coco is actually leading off tonight. I've missed him over this past week, as you can imagine.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on September 28, 2008 7:41 PM

Okay, moving over there -- thanks, Texy!
