So our local FOX affiliate, in their infinite unwisdom, is giving us CHC/MIL this afternoon. The East Coast Lady is roundly pissed. Guess I'll be hanging out here and listening on WRKO. :::sigh::: And I was SO looking forward to watching the game with Remy announcing.
Jessi, I would still suggest checking your local FOX listings. With FOX, one never knows. Their logic escapes me. It's not like NC is exactly near Chicago or Milwaukee, after all.
Phillies would be fun to watch, Angie, but I've got plenty to do around the house so I'd rather not just lounge in front of the TV unless it's our guys. The WRKO guys just said that the rain is supposed to continue for a couple more hours and there is "no anticipated start time. :::eye roll:::
Guess I'll keep the WRKO feed on and wait for further updates.
Watching Notre Dame football while waiting for the rain to stop. I wanna see Pedey go after the batting title from the clean-up spot today! Come on, rain, knock it off!
Angie, it's free (and easy) to sign up for boston.com. I recommend it, especially if you want to get past that login center page!
Strange thing...the radar is showing the rain basically on the WESTERN edge of Boston, and plenty of clear space in points south. Unless it's just not showing on the radar for whatever reason.
When I turned on fox and saw the cubs I knew it wasn't good. I like my cubs but still not a good sign. Just woke up. Keep hoping that one of these days I will wake up feeling better.
This is why I decided to postpone doing my laundry until one of the non-baseball nights this week. I had a feeling the weather wasn't going to cooperate with the schedule.
I had that happen a couple of times, Mac. Really annoying, and the tech guys were not terribly helpful. One solution seems to be to never ever just X out of mlb.com, always log out. Also, disconnecting from the Internet for awhile so it resets worked, but you probably don't want to miss that much of the game.
Thanks, ecl. I'll try that now. I think I did this to myself, though - I was clearing the cache on my browser because I couldn't access another website. I had forgotten I was logged on to mlb.com and when I tried to log back in, I got the message saying I was logged in on multiple computers. D'oh...
Kind of random, but I read an article about Pedroia this morning on boston.com and it said that when he was 1 and a half he killed a goose with a baseball bat because it "bobbed into his strike zone."
Is anyone here kinda rooting for Moose? Might be his last game, his first and only attempt at 20 wins...as much as I hate NY, I don't have a thing against the guy.
Jessi, I would be, but it's against us. I would be happy for the Moose if he got his 20th, but not if it comes at the expense of a Red Sox loss. It doesn't bother me that it's the Yankees in particular, though. I'd feel the same if it was friggin' Baltimore (who, for the record, is losing 10-1 to Toronto at the moment).
I'm inclined to agree with Liza...not against us. Just as I don't want Bobby Abreu (the lone Yankee who I really, really like) to have good games against us.
(late post)
Jessi - I'm not sure. I want the Sox to win, but I'm slightly rooting for Moose to get his 20th. I don't have a thing against him, either. He's one of the few Yankees players I don't dislike.
Jessi - After Jed struck out, he threw down his helmet, bat, gloves onto the ground in frustration. I think he also had some words for the ump, but he wasn't thrown out of the game.
You didn't miss much in the first game. It was rather depressing. Hope you had a good sleep. I'm feeling rather migrainous so hope that I can make it through the game.
Yes, I'm delighted to see that Coco is actually leading off tonight. I've missed him over this past week, as you can imagine.
