C'est La Vie

Sometimes things like this happen.

Sometimes supposed MVP-caliber bats go ice cold, leaving a trail of sad 0's in their wake. Sometimes a hobbled former MVP is left swinging just a tick too slow. Sometimes the Ace is battling injury and pitches like exactly what he's become: a number three guy in the rotation. Sometimes a clutch starter from the '07 playoffs is left warming up in the 'pen, while the lefty specialist is asked to get outs he can't ever be reliably be asked to deliver. Sometimes you leave three runners stranded at a crucial moment late in a tie ballgame. Sometimes you get stuck next to weird guy at the ballgame who, despite being your dad's age, tries to flirt with you and uses the 6 year-old technique of stealing your scorecard, and asks if you know what a backwards 'K' is (while he's not even sure who our starting shortstop is), and kind of smells funny, and oh, did I mention is your dad's age and totally creepy?

Yep, sometimes things like this happen. Sometimes a bloop single can score three runs, and then again sometimes you lose anyway.

But that was yesterday. And today's a whole 'nother day.

A tough night all around. Must have been mixed emotions to be at that game last night - excited to be there because it's the playoffs, traumatized by the loss and exhausted by the length of it all. Makes a girl wanna call in sick.
Better luck tonight!

to be fair, Lowell looks too hurt to be in the lineup. He looks to be more valuable on the bench at this point. Pedroia just needs a little luck thrown his way.

Though night, but mehh I wouldn't be to concerned about Pedroia. He's hit the ball hard, just right at people. I think he'll be fine and eventually(hopefully tonight) the balls he hits will start to find holes.

Lowell, on the other hand, I really think he should not play tonight. He's too hurt to play. I know it sucks, but the guy is hurting the team more than helping now. I wouldn't mind him pinch hitting every so often and all, but on the field he's hurting them.

I meant to say tough, not though

I agree with you Piney. I feel like Lowell is in a lot of pain but he's just trying to suck it up for the team. They should put Sean Casey at first and Youk at third tonight.

Sometimes you try to call your friends to let them know about the primo creepy-dude-free seats you found after the weenies have gone home to bed, but they're too miserable to notice the calls coming in. Then again, maybe an ugly game close up is just more ugly.

Here's to a better game (in all respects) tonight.

Liza, click this link and scroll down a little. I'd be a little upset if I were you...

In my opinion, your's was better, though!
=)

P.S. Pedey just needs to keep playing, and for the love of god, Mikey, you've proven you're no snowflake; go ahead and sit down.

Ooh, which section were you sitting in? Despite the outcome of the game, it was great just being there. =)

And sigh, I'm always asking guys about the backwards K to test them and usually end up telling them what it means.

Ugh. Those guys were fucking DISGUSTING.

Also getting stuck behind tall bitchy girls after they steal your spot, and having them flip their ponytail into your face who totally stole your spot. I hated them. HATED.

But having a friend willing to totally piss them off for the rest of the game is awfully nice.

In other news, Josh. Yeah. Hm.
And Pedroia.
And Lowell.
Yep.

I HATE the creepy dudes that seem to get a kick out of girls who keep score. And I hate when Lopez is brought in to face three RHH's. But most of all, I will hate if this series goes back to LA.

And I don't know what is up with Pedroia...perhaps trying to live up to "Caballito" is putting him under a lot of pressure.
