Is it 7:27 PM yet???

[ Mac ] says:
on October 5, 2008 6:08 PM

BEAT LA!

[ Danielle ] says:
on October 5, 2008 6:24 PM

Is it time yet? I have not been able to concentrate on studying at all today!

[ Jennie ] says:
on October 5, 2008 6:26 PM

I HATE that my mlb.tv is gone for the year and (since I don't have cable) I have to watch the games in public. I was surrounded by Angels fans on Friday, one of them being a Yankees fan rooting for the Angels. It got ugly. :( Well, till the end. :)

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 6:33 PM

Ooohhh, Jennie, no cable? I'm so sorry to hear that. I don't know what I'd do without mine, although I only use it for news/weather/baseball.

[ Ian ] says:
on October 5, 2008 6:39 PM

Jennie you can watch it on that TBS hot corner link I gave the other day. No sound though I don't think.

[ Angie ] says:
on October 5, 2008 6:39 PM

Yikes no cable at all?

I wish the postseason games were on mlb.tv so I could post on the gameday threads here. It's too hard to run back and forth from the tv to my computer.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 6:41 PM

Angie, I find what works for me is to post here between innings or during pitching changes. The only major drawback to that is getting sucked into a good conversation and losing track of what's happening on the TV in the next room.

[ Angie ] says:
on October 5, 2008 6:47 PM

Oh yeah that's true. The only problem is if my sister is on the computer, because I can't shove her off so I can post here. But I'll try

[ Jennie ] says:
on October 5, 2008 6:48 PM

And I'm trying to figure out how to record (via a VCR) Amazing Race while bypassing this new fangled converter box. Sucks to be cheap like me!

[ Ian ] says:
on October 5, 2008 6:55 PM

I'll just download the full episode tonight when it's available.

[ Jennie ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:00 PM

From bittorrent or is there another place to do that? I tried it once unsuccessfully but, as you may have noticed, I'm technology challenged. I SO wish they would post the episodes on CBS.com like they do for Survivor!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:01 PM

I wish they hadn't scheduled the TB/CSW game so close to ours. They're only in the top of the 7th right now. Looks like we'll have to watch the beginning of our game on Hot Corner. :::frowns due to lack of sound:::

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:03 PM

Oh good...we'll be starting on TNT. :::whew:::

[ Bethie ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:05 PM

Hello peoples. SO READY for this game tonight!!! I will be popping in and out, as I am packing for trip up to Boston tomorrow.

GO SOX!!!

[ Ian ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:07 PM

Yes Jennie I do it through bittorrent. I use the azaerus bittorent program and i get the television torrents from this site here.

BETHIE! Check your LJ mail or your regular e-mail when you have a moment!

:::so jealous of that Boston trip:::

[ Mac ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:09 PM

Bethie, you're going to Boston? Lucky! Have fun!

[ Karen ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:13 PM

Hey all. Is it just me, or is it weird hearing Orsillo's voice, and not on nesn? It's either this or watch the titanic for the 100th time.

[ Bethie ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:19 PM

Thanks Mac! I'm looking forward to it. I love going to MA.

Faith!!!!! ::HUGE HUG::: You're the best!!!

[ Trish ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:21 PM

In honor of Bethie, I channel the Dropkick Murphys:

I'M SHIPPIN' UP TO BOSTON WHOA OH OH!

And why the hell is "Titanic" on instead of baseball? (although it does hold a special place in my heart; my husband and I saw it on our first date)

[ Bethie ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:22 PM

HA! Thanks Trish. That will be the title for my blog tomorrow morning!

Karen, it's not just you. I heard him on the broadcast Friday and kept thinking "Poor Don. He's stuck with the damn Rays."

[ Karen ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:23 PM

The titanic has been on all weekend, opposite baseball.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:23 PM

Glad you liked it, Bethie! :::HUGS BACK:::

[ Trish ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:24 PM

AH BASEBALL

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:24 PM

:::dashes off to the other room:::

Back in a bit -- GO SOX!!!

[ Danielle ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:25 PM

Thank goodness they're switching to baseball from Titanic. Since as my Dad says, everyone knows what happens in the end.

BEAT LA!!!

[ Trish ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:26 PM

Oh God no, Buck Martinez.

[ Karen ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:27 PM

Wow, Sager looks normal. Maybe afraid he wouldn't be allowed in Fenway otherwise.
Ooh Josh, looking so good.

[ Danielle ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:27 PM

Sager's outfit is seemingly downplayed for a change.

So glad to see Beckett on tv!

[ Jessi ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:28 PM

Hey guys!

[ Trish ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:29 PM

Well, so much for the no-hitter. ;)

[ Karen ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:32 PM

These announcers are going to drive me nuts,

[ Avery ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:34 PM

Come on BECKETT

[ Trish ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:34 PM

BecKett

[ Bethie ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:36 PM

I dare Buck to call Beckett soft to his face.

[ Mac ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:39 PM

BecKKett

[ Trish ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:39 PM

BecKKett

[ Danielle ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:39 PM

BecKKett

[ Kristin ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:39 PM

Hey all.....good night for baseball...BecKKett!

[ Karen ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:40 PM

I think Buck would be shot.

[ Trish ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:41 PM

Karen--ba dum dum!

[ Bethie ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:41 PM

I think Buck would have a boot up his ass.

[ Karen ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:45 PM

I was enjoying Beckett's interview yesterday, his normal off season self, pissy and blunt.

[ Trish ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:46 PM

GAAAAAAAAAAAAH

[ Mac ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:46 PM

C'mon, Beckett. EXECUTE THE PITCHES AND GET THE OUT.

[ Bethie ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:47 PM

Ummmm.....Dammit.

[ Trish ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:48 PM

GODDAMMIT JOSH

[ Danielle ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:49 PM

Execute the DAMN PITCHES, Beckett

[ Mac ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:49 PM

WTF BECKETT?!

[ Ian ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:49 PM

sheeeeeeeeit

[ Karen ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:49 PM

::moaning::
Still love you Josh, but please stop this.

[ Trish ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:49 PM

WTG BECKETTY BOO

/not an endearment

[ Ian ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:49 PM

Rays lost

[ Aly ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:49 PM

This isn't looking good

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:49 PM

Uhhh...when is the last time Josh walked in a run? Dammit.

[ Mac ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:50 PM

Thank you.

Now don't ever do that again, Beckett.

[ Kristin ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:51 PM

glad thats over

[ Ian ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:51 PM

Okay, it's only 1 run. Nothing to panic about.

[ Ian ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:51 PM

everyone flip to TBS now

[ Kim ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:51 PM

Wow that was ugly.... I'll be MIA for a bit. Kiddo has my laptop and there is no TV by this computer....

[ Danielle ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:52 PM

At least the Rays lost tonight...

[ Jane ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:52 PM

He'll settle. He'll scream and break things. And then we'll get vintage Beckett. Believe in the man.

[ Bethie ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:53 PM

I hope he settled himself with those 30 pitches.

He keeps that up he won't last 3 innings.

Come on Commander. Get out there and kick some ass.

[ Mac ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:55 PM

DON'T BREAK PEDIE.

[ Karen ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:55 PM

Not pedey.

[ Kristin ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:55 PM

ouch...don't hurt Pedie

[ Bethie ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:55 PM

OUCH!

[ Jane ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:56 PM

That was like watching my nephew fall off the swingset! Pedieeee!

[ Angie ] says:
on October 5, 2008 7:57 PM

OUCH Pedie! At least it wasn't his knee

[ Mac ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:01 PM

Is TBS Hot Corner only showing the Angels' dugout?

[ Jessi ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:02 PM

Haha a "Testy Texan." That was an interesting description of Beckett.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:02 PM

Hot Corner doesn't seem to work properly, Mac. I haven't been able to get the Mosaic view since yesterday, and during the Rays game I could only get 2 views, neither of which were what the links said they would be.

[ Karen ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:04 PM

Yeah I couldn't get the sox dugout, not fair.

[ Liza ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:06 PM

Hey everyone.

Massive wtfs in the direction of Beckett, the home plate ump, and the Fenway Park press box.

Also, that was really loud off Pedie's leg.

[ Mac ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:12 PM

BECKETT. EXECUTE THE F@*!ING PITCHES AND THROW F!*#ING STRIKES.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:12 PM

Thank you Mikey and Pedey. :::whew:::

[ Mac ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:13 PM

Thank you, Mikey.

Thank you, Pedie.

[ Liza ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:14 PM

Beckett owes his infield a round of drinks.

[ Jane ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:15 PM

Dear Bats,

If you're going to start giving this man some run support this year, now would be a great time to do so. Haul ass and let's finish this thing tonight.

Love,
Jane

[ Kristin ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:15 PM

Where is our October Beckett?

[ Trish ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:15 PM

Sorry, break to make husband's sandwiches for the week.

Bay is like THANK YOU PIRATES FOR TRADING ME TO A GOOD TEAM

[ Bethie ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:17 PM

Where is our October Beckett?

Probably left him in Florida when the rest of the team went to Japan???

Let's just hope he doesn't give up any more runs til they take the ball from him. That would be good.

[ Jane ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:18 PM

He's lulling the Halos into a false sense of security. It's strategy. I'm convinced.

[ Trish ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:19 PM

TEEN WOLF

[ Liza ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:21 PM

LowBB

[ Trish ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:25 PM

[ Angie ] says:

[ Mac ] says:

[ Aly ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:28 PM

Let's go Jacoby!!!!!

[ Mac ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:29 PM

Let's go, Jacoby! *clap clap clapclapclap*

[ Trish ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:32 PM

LOL ANGELS

[ Karen ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:32 PM

[ Mac ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:32 PM

[ Jessi ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:32 PM

[ Ian ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:32 PM

[ Angie ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:32 PM

JACOBYYYYY!

[ Danielle ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:32 PM

JACOBY!!!!!!!!

[ Bethie ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:32 PM

No Angels in the outfield apparently.

Wheeeeee!!!

[ Kristin ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:32 PM

HOLT CRAP....did that really just happen

[ Ian ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:33 PM

I honestly was about to type fuck and then I saw the ball drop. Unreal.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:33 PM

Bethie -- did you just hear me scream all the way in Concord?

EEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[ Mac ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:33 PM

Trish, that exactly describes what happened.

[ Liza ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:33 PM

Bases clearing... blooper?

[ Trish ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:33 PM

That's one infield that will NOT be having drinks bought for them.

[ Jessi ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:33 PM

Well that hit Tex robbed Ells of in the first inning was just given back.

[ Aly ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:34 PM

has pedie even got a hit this post season?

[ Bethie ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:34 PM

Is that what that was Faith?? :)

[ Liza ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:34 PM

My thought process: "Oh, it might be shallow to drop, screw it up, screw it up, screw it--OH MY GOD!"

[ Jessi ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:34 PM

And now my family is yelling at me for screaming "FUCK.....HOLY SHIT YES!"

::Shrugs:: I can't help it haha.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:34 PM

:::is hoarse from screaming:::

[ Jessi ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:35 PM

Nope Aly - he is hitless w/ two walks and HBP.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:35 PM

wow....that was amazing.

and aly, no he hasn't. =(

[ Lindsay ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:36 PM

Jessi, my dad yelled at me because I jumped and knocked the controller behind the couch and my dad thought that it was his surround sound speaker...lol

[ Mac ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:36 PM

That was epic.

[ Danielle ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:36 PM

I didn't have much of a voice to begin with because of my allergies. At this rate, I won't have any voice left tomorrow.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:36 PM

Jessi, my vocabulary during that play went something like yours except it ended with "WOOOHOOOO!!!!!"

That really was amazing.

[ Trish ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:36 PM

Well, this certainly isn't a pitcher's duel.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:36 PM

Come on Josh! Your nto impressing me thus far...

[ Jessi ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:37 PM

Haha Lindsay - my family can't see me at least because I got banished to the basement while watching baseball.

[ Kristin ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:38 PM

It would be nice if the real Josh would return right about now

[ Lindsay ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:38 PM

haha. that was my second time getting yelled at this season...the first time was after lester's no no; everyone was sleeping and I was screaming..

[ Lindsay ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:39 PM

Did they credit Jake with a hit and 3 rbis?

There we go Josh!

[ Trish ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:39 PM

BecKKKett?

[ Mac ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:40 PM

Yes, Lindsay, they did.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:41 PM

K, thanks Mac.

[ Mac ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:41 PM

You're welcome.

[ Avery ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:45 PM

Where is vintage BecKKKKKKKKKet?

[ Jessi ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:45 PM

Holy crap, 65 pitches in 3 innings?!

[ Jane ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:46 PM

Beckett, could you not shake off The Tek?

[ Trish ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:46 PM

OH SHIT

[ Jessi ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:47 PM

God damn you Beckett.

[ Mac ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:47 PM

SHIT.

I want vintage October Beckett back.

[ Kristin ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:47 PM

Not good

[ Bethie ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:47 PM

SHIT

[ Ian ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:47 PM

wow that was crushed

[ Karen ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:47 PM

::moaning::
Beckett

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:47 PM

#$&*()_$#@!#$%^&

SHIT.

[ Jane ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:47 PM

I will puke.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:47 PM

Beckett...

what the hell?

[ Angie ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:47 PM

Oh shit. Well the Angels are not going down without a fight, that's for sure

Come on Beckett get the out

[ Mac ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:48 PM

BecKKKKett

[ Jessi ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:48 PM

Beckett is gonna go break something.

[ Trish ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:48 PM

BecKKKKett but should have done it with Napoli

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:48 PM

I'm glad I was fixing supper and thus away from the TV when that occurred.

:::growls:::

[ Amanda ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:48 PM

Beckett needs to show he is the ace

[ Kim ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:50 PM

I just said the F word loudly in my family room with 4 yr old present. That shot over the monster sucked.

[ Karen ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:51 PM

I miss the sox dugout cam.

[ Bethie ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:51 PM

It's okay....we've got more innings left, as long as the giving runs to the other team ends RIGHT NOW!!

I want to win tonight, but if they do lose tonight, I get to be at Fenway tomorrow. ::shrugs::

[ Jessi ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:53 PM

I would really like to win tonight because if we lose, tomorrow is a must-win game. And basically, I don't want the fate of our season in the hands of Dice-K.

[ Jessi ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:53 PM

*if we fail to win tomorrow as well

[ Bethie ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:54 PM

A Bay home run would be nice right now. :)

[ Kim ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:54 PM

come on Bay. Do it again!

[ Mac ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:54 PM

Let's go, New Guy! *clap clap clapclapclap*

[ Liza ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:54 PM

"the first 3-RBI single in postseason history"

Ha.

[ Mac ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:55 PM

Let's go, Mikey! *clap clap clapclapclap*

[ Jessi ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:56 PM

Ok Beckett, time to strike out the side.

Or at least have a 123 inning.

[ Liza ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:57 PM

Another reason we have to win tonight or tomorrow--Wednesday is Kol Nidre.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:58 PM

Which means you'd be absent, Liza, correct?

[ Ian ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:58 PM

It was the second 3-run single in postseason history. From Weei.com:

Jacoby Ellsbury made non-tacolicious history - he became the second player in October history to have a three-run single. Only Placido Polanco had done it before in the postseason, in the 2000 Division Series against Greg Maddux of the Braves.

[ Angie ] says:
on October 5, 2008 8:58 PM

Okay Joshua Patrick no nonsense this inning.

[ Kim ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:01 PM

Ceiling for pitch count. 170... ha ha...

[ Liza ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:03 PM

Stupid TBS. They said a 3-run single had never happened.

And yes, Ecl. I'd miss the first few innings, anyway.

[ Liza ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:04 PM

*never happened in the postseason

[ Ian ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:05 PM

Liza the Pro Jo said the same thing and that was according to Elias. The dude who does that stuff at WEEI knows his shit and i'd believe him any day of the week.

[ Jessi ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:07 PM

BECKETT - what the hell was that?!

[ Mac ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:08 PM

WTF BECKETT?!?!

[ Trish ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:08 PM

Josh,

Help yourself out, dude.

[ Bethie ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:08 PM

Well, that was lovely.

[ Angie ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:09 PM

Yikes Beckett that was kind of embarassing. Not so good at defense

[ Liza ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:10 PM

What is going on here?

Josh, execute your fucking pitches.

[ Jessi ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:10 PM

Jesus christ, throw a strike Josh.

[ Liza ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:11 PM

EXECUTE YOUR FUCKING PITCHES.

[ Aly ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:11 PM

this is not good

[ Bethie ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:11 PM

Joshua, have you been getting into the "chemistry" too much lately?

[ Kim ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:12 PM

They keep saying his oblique is fine but he sure doesn't look like himself.

[ SoxPhan ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:12 PM

Who is that man on the mound and what has he done with Josh Beckett?

[ Trish ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:12 PM

He's executing pitches, all right ... they're dying on him.

[ Jessi ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:12 PM

THANK YOU PEDIE!

[ Ian ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:13 PM

Thanks Pleats

[ Karen ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:13 PM

I love Josh no matter what, but that made me way too nervous.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:13 PM

Thank you, Pedey.

[ Bethie ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:13 PM

God Bless you Pedey!

[ Kristin ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:13 PM

Thank you Pedie....did the Angels put something in his gatorade???

[ Mac ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:13 PM

Thank you, Pedie!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:14 PM

I feel really badly for Josh. He just isn't himself at all.

[ Liza ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:14 PM

Speaking of pitchers owing their infield drinks...

[ Kim ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:16 PM

Jed starting it off!

[ Mac ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:16 PM

Jed!

[ Mac ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:19 PM

crap.

[ Trish ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:20 PM

Josh is not looking happy.

[ Kim ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:21 PM

This is too close for me. Where is OUR Josh????

[ Bethie ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:21 PM

Poor Becketty-boo. Just not his normal, kick ass self tonight.

I'm banking on a colorful post game presser, either way.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:21 PM

Well...that was underwhelming.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:22 PM

Bethie, what time is your flight?

[ Bethie ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:24 PM

10:10 AM.

Have a layover in New Jersey (gag) and should get into Logan about about 2:30.

[ Mac ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:25 PM

BecKKKKKett

[ Trish ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:25 PM

BecKKKKKett

[ Kim ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:25 PM

Nice K Josh.

[ Ian ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:25 PM

From WEEI:

First, a correction: Jacoby Ellsbury became the first player ever to drive in three runs with a postseason single, but Placido Polanco did indeed hit a “three-run” single in Game 1 of the 2000 NLDS. Here’s how it went down, as documented at the time by the New York Times:

“Placido Polanco smashed a line drive past Maddux for a single to center that scored both Clark and Lankford. As Andruw Jones made a throw to home plate that was too late to get Lankford, Polanco rounded first base and headed for second. Braves catcher Paul Bako made a wild throw to second base for another error, and Hernandez scampered home.”

[ Trish ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:25 PM

There will be no dissing of my native land!

[ Karen ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:25 PM

Aw Bethie, I miss Boston so much.

UGH

[ Mac ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:25 PM

FUCK YOU NAPOLI

[ Kim ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:26 PM

Aw fuck.

[ Ian ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:26 PM

well that just sucks balls

[ Trish ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:26 PM

GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH GET JOSH OUT OF THERE

[ Jessi ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:26 PM

Screw Napoli

[ Danielle ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:26 PM

SHIT

[ Bethie ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:26 PM

Alright Napoli. I really don't like you.

[ Liza ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:26 PM

Ian - Thanks for posting that clarification.

Also, FUCK.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:26 PM

:::bangs head against wall:::

[ Angie ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:27 PM

Ughhh at least it was only a single homer

[ SoxPhan ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:27 PM

$*$@$^*!!$$()&$!!!!

[ Bethie ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:27 PM

Sorry Trish. But I'm not all that impressed with New Jersey.

One of my former co-workers used to say they should just pave the state and make it a parking lot for New York. :)

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:28 PM

Bethie -- Charlotte to Boston including layover? You did a great job of scheduling that...and you don't even have to get up super ultra early. Good work!

[ Bethie ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:30 PM

It's not bad, and it was pretty cheap.

[ Ian ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:31 PM

You know you're in New Jersey when you roll down your window crossing the George Washington Bridge and the smell is just putrid.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:31 PM

Bethie, in defense of New Jersey, the parts that are farther inland are pretty nice. It's not entirely an extension of NY. Of course, you won't get to see that part if you're laying over in...what, Newark?

[ Bethie ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:31 PM

Yep, that would be the one.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:32 PM

Ian...GAAAAHHHH. I remember that section. The GWB used to be on my route between college in upstate NY and my parents on Lawn Guyland.

[ Angie ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:33 PM

HA take that Chone Figgins!

BecKKKKKKet.

[ Bethie ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:33 PM

I so wish they would get the Sox dugout cam up.

I wanna watch Josh break shit.

[ Trish ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:33 PM

BecKKKKKKett

And here's my hometown. You wouldn't want to pave that over, would you?

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:33 PM

Unfortunately, there's not a major airport at the Delaware Water Gap. You would find that a bit more impressive, I think.

[ Mac ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:33 PM

Ian - LOL.

[ Bethie ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:34 PM

Nah, I wouldn't want to pave over any of it. I just had a co worker that despised New Jersey. But that looks nice. :)

I will say I would rather fly into Newark than Laguardia. Hence the reason I booked the flight that I did.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:35 PM

Trish -- nice! Complete with geese on a pond!

[ Karen ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:35 PM

Maybe the Sox wouldn't allow the cam in their dugout. The batter cam shows the bullpen on commercial.

[ Trish ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:36 PM

I was thinking that maybe I should make a run into North Carolina one of these days. I always seem to Rampage north and west, I need to go south.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:36 PM

LaGuardia -- yikes. What a madhouse. I don't blame you for avoiding it.

[ Bethie ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:36 PM

Ugh, I have to go shower.

Okay sox, score LOTS of runs while I'm gone!!

YAY JACOBY!!

[ Ian ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:36 PM

Nice glove work Garrett

[ Bethie ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:37 PM

Come on down Trish. We'll have a beer or twelve. :)

[ Trish ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:37 PM

It was a great place to grow up. Too bad I'd need to win the lottery to live there again. However, selling our house did provide my dad with his retirement fund. :D

[ SoxPhan ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:37 PM

Jacoby!!! That boy is on fire tonight!

[ Jessi ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:37 PM

It would awesome if Pedie could hit the ball.

[ Ian ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:38 PM

anyone else surprised pedroia isn't bunting

[ Trish ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:39 PM

I just might. Charlotte's about a five-hour drive from here. We can go to Price's Chicken Coop, which is supposed to have some of the best fried chicken in America.

[ Mac ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:41 PM

Let's go, Papi! *clap clap clapclapclap*

[ Jane ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:43 PM

We need some positivity here, folks. We need to get pumped.

[ Mac ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:44 PM

"And now it's Boston's turn to flirt with an opportunity to leave a runner on base."

Did I really just hear this?

[ Mac ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:45 PM

YOUK!!!!

[ Jessi ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:45 PM

YOUKKKKKKK

[ Karen ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:45 PM

happy dance
Yes!!!!

[ Ian ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:45 PM

YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUK

[ Kristin ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:45 PM

YOUUUUUK!!!!!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:45 PM

YOOOOUUUUUKKkk!!!!!

[ Aly ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:45 PM

YOUUKKKKKK

[ Jane ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:45 PM

THAT'S WHAT I MEAAAAAN! YOUUUUK!

[ S ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:45 PM

YOOOUUUUKKKK!

[ Jessi ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:46 PM

So does this mean Josh won't qualify for a loss?

[ Kristin ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:46 PM

How about some more JayBay goodness

[ Jane ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:47 PM

JBAYBAY! Do it to it!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:47 PM

Hey Trish...late comment, but I'm only about 2 hours from Charlotte. We could all meet there and have ourselves quite a time!

[ Trish ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:47 PM

Yeah, if Josh doesn't come back this'll be considered a no decision.

[ Mac ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:48 PM

Yes, Jessi. He's off the hook. If no more runs score, he gets a no decision. If Bay drives in Youk, he's eligible for the win.

[ Jessi ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:48 PM

Well that's good at least - thanks Trish. Something positive about his outing...

[ Ian ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:48 PM

Josh isn't coming back out. He's already in the clubhouse.

[ Jessi ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:49 PM

And thanks Mac too!

[ Mac ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:49 PM

You're welcome.

[ Ian ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:50 PM

Battle of the bullpens again.

[ Ian ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:51 PM

viva viagra

[ Jessi ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:51 PM

Ughh I just realized that we are still in the 5th inning.

Didn't this game start over two hours ago? Christ.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:52 PM

I particularly hate that Viagra commercial for the dorky suit.

[ Bethie ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:53 PM

Hey, we tied it!! Woo hoo!!

[ Trish ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:54 PM

No problem.

Faith, I'm definitely looking into it because I know you're not that far. I'll probably end up renting a car because airfare out of Richmond is ridiculous into Charlotte. I'll keep y'all advised in LJ. I'm looking at maybe February.

[ Jessi ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:56 PM

These Frank TV commercials need to die.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:56 PM

That would be great, Trish (and Bethie too)! And for a 5-hour drive, I'd say that's less of a pain in the rear than flying, airfare or no airfare. I actually drove from here to Virginia Beach last year rather than fly.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:57 PM

Jessi, I agree -- I remember those ads from last year. Ugh. Why is he still on the air at all, never mind the commercials?

[ Karen ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:57 PM

Talk of fried chicken is making me hungry. At least now I know a good place when I am in the carolinas, or Georgia, still close enough.

[ Jessi ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:59 PM

I admit his George Bush impression is funny, but for five minutes. I don't know how anyone can watch an entire episode.

Anddd as I type this, another commerical appears: "I can promise you more commercials during the postseason, until you puke."

Ahhhh.

[ Kim ] says:
on October 5, 2008 9:59 PM

Thank god that 4 yr old is asleep for Viagra ads tonight.

[ Trish ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:00 PM

And now that Josh is gone, so am I. Hopefully I'll see everyone for the ALCS. Good night!

[ Jessi ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:01 PM

YOUK!

[ Kim ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:01 PM

Nice play by Youk!

[ Liza ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:01 PM

YOUUUUUUUK.

Don't get spiked, though.

[ Mac ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:01 PM

Nice play, Youk!

[ Bethie ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:01 PM

Okay, that sliding tag into first by Youk was AWESOME!

[ Kim ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:06 PM

Nice inning for mdc

[ Mac ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:06 PM

Nice 1-2-3 inning, MDC!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:07 PM

I'm really glad, especially, for that last out. Guerrero has a scary vicious swing.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:15 PM

:::crickets:::

[ Bethie ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:17 PM

I should seriously be going to bed.

But I can't turn off the game.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:20 PM

I'm looking for more game pictures, Bethie. Just so you know. :::winks:::

[ Bethie ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:21 PM

Hee hee.

There are bound to be some good Joshua shots in there.

[ Kim ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:21 PM

This game is giving me a heartattack. Enough already.

[ Liza ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:22 PM

Dammit MDC.

[ Mac ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:22 PM

C'mon, MDC. GET THE OUT.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:23 PM

I'm looking partly with that in mind, Bethie. :::grins::: So far nothing fabulous, though. Nice ones of some of the other guys.

[ Jessi ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:23 PM

...Oki?

[ Mac ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:24 PM

C'mon, Oki. GET THE OUT.

[ Danielle ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:24 PM

So since I have to multitask during every game this semester, I was hoping you guys might be able to help me.

I'm the Community Health Chair for my Student Nurses Association and we do 2 Share-A-Meals at Ronald McDonald House, where we cook food for the families based on a theme.

I'm trying to come with themes for everyone to choose from like Italian, Mexican, breakfast for dinner, but want some more creative ideas and just can't think of any. If you think of any, I'd really appreciate it!!!

[ Kim ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:25 PM

not a good time to bring in Okie. He doesn't do well coming in mid inning.

[ Kim ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:26 PM

Phew

[ Jessi ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:26 PM

Yay Oki!!

[ Mac ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:26 PM

Thank you, Mikey!

[ Danielle ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:26 PM

Oh and P.S. to my previous post. I'm in Orlando so Red Sox doesn't work for all who will be there.

OKI!!!

[ Kristin ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:26 PM

Thank you for bringing back 2007 Oki...

[ Kim ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:29 PM

Need to string together some hits here.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:29 PM

Danielle: Something Asian, perhaps?

[ Liza ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:29 PM

Danielle - What about color-coded foods? Yellow could be bananas and potatoes, orange could be carrots and pumpkin pie...

[ Kim ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:30 PM

Honest to god.. I'm going to reach thru my TV and strangle him if he can't say Ortiz correctly.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:30 PM

Liza -- that's a GREAT idea! Rainbow dinner!

[ Jessi ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:30 PM

Sorry Danielle, I'm not very creative either. Maybe colors...? But that might be kinda boring...

[ Liza ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:30 PM

Okay, bats. Let's go.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:31 PM

Oh I know, Kim. That's been bugging me ever since that season started. And I don't believe whoever that was who popped in and said that's the correct pronunciation. My college roommate married an Ortiz and she says it the same way that Papi does.

[ Jessi ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:31 PM

Aw Liza already said my idea - never mind!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:31 PM

*series, not season.

[ Kim ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:31 PM

Good start.

[ Ian ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:31 PM

Japanese

[ Kim ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:32 PM

It's game 3. 3 games and nobody has said "Dude, it's OR TEEZ" ????

[ Aly ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:32 PM

It's time for Pedie's first hit!!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:32 PM

Guess I should go in the other room and watch for a bit, hey?

[ Kim ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:33 PM

Pedey needs to start it off here.

[ Danielle ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:33 PM

Thanks everyone! Any suggestions are great. We have a meeting tomorrow and we have to choose the themes then. Usually I'm more creative but I'm writing a paper, sending emails, watching the game, and putting together information for tmw's meeting so I can't concentrate on the themes :)

Come on bats!

[ Ian ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:33 PM

Love Me Or Teez Me

[ Liza ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:33 PM

Sorry Jessi, but great minds think alike, no?

And re: "Ortiz," I'm pretty sure in Spanish it'd be "or-tees," with a soft s on the end, but I've mostly heard "or-teez."

[ Kim ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:34 PM

ha ha Ian.

[ Kim ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:34 PM

Good grasp on the obvious. "As the night grows longer, the night grows colder."

Ummm duh...

[ Jessi ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:35 PM

Where the hell did Pedie's bat go?

[ KIm ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:35 PM

Our regular season Pedey appears to be missing.

[ Jessi ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:36 PM

My sister just told me that Pedie is the new Arod.

I slapped her.

[ Bethie ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:36 PM

Okay everyone, I'm signing off for the night. MUST get to bed, but will try to watch the rest of the game.

Nighty night!

GO SOX!

[ Kim ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:36 PM

Flomax anyone? Flomax?

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:37 PM

Bethie -- have a great trip!

[ Erin3 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:38 PM

hello all, just got home

[ Ian ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:38 PM

Danielle why not a bingo themed night or something like that that old people like. Bridge or shit like that.

[ Danielle ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:38 PM

Pedie started slow last year in the ALDS too (2-13, I think) so not to worry. In one of the articles I read today (instead of studying), he said he needs to hit everyday to get in a rhythm so games every other day had kept him from getting into that rhythm.

Night Bethie!

[ Erin3 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:39 PM

i do not need extra innings tonight, I start my new tomorrow, bright-n-early at 730

[ Karen ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:40 PM

Aww Ells

[ Danielle ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:40 PM

Ian - That would be good, but I forgot to say that the families are mostly with young children who are in the hospital so a younger crowd. Keep the ideas coming!

Ells WTF

[ Kim ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:40 PM

crap crap crap

[ Mac ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:40 PM

Dammit.

[ Jessi ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:40 PM

Aww Ells - not so hard next time!

[ Ian ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:40 PM

dang it jacoby

[ Ian ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:41 PM

Ok so if it's kids, you got the wiggles, spongebob, hannah montana

[ Kim ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:43 PM

Zack & Cody... Wizards of Waverly Place?

Just trying to think of kids themes.

[ Karen ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:43 PM

Danielle, 2 ideas, I have had experience working with picky kids at the y and boys and girls club. I have done appetizers as a meal, for example, chicken wings, shrimp, veggies and dip. It worked cause kids like to snack, but make it healthy. The other one I did was similar, the theme was baby, or mini, like baby ribs, baby chicken, baby shrimp.

[ Danielle ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:45 PM

Ian - now the hard part, how to pick the food for the wiggles
You could do seafood for spongebob, but too picky & expensive on a student budget. Sorry to make this complicated!

Come on Youk!

[ Mac ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:45 PM

Did Caray just say that Youk hit a 2-run double?

[ Danielle ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:46 PM

Thanks for all these ideas! I really appreciate it.

[ Liza ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:47 PM

Round foods? Pizza, fruits (for healthy), pie (for dessert)...

[ Karen ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:49 PM

Italian such as pizza or pasta is always cheap.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:50 PM

To Karen's idea I would add...different kinds of sauces or protein sources for the pasta. And, of course, different kinds of pizza.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:51 PM

Good running by my dear Coco!

[ Kim ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:51 PM

They look cold at Fenway tonight. It's 47 at my house. fyi..

[ Kim ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:53 PM

Home plate ump has called a great game tonight.

[ Erin3 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:54 PM

youk!

[ Karen ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:54 PM

I definitely understand the affordable part. I have been unemployed for 2months, and have only had $50 to work with. Italian has been my life saver, along with soup. I make homemade sauce, much cheaper, and homemade pizza, on anything from english muffins, to pita bread, to homemade dough. Anything that is in the house.

[ Erin3 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:56 PM

I feel ya on the unemployment Karen. I start my new job tomorrow. I'm so ready to get back to work.

[ Kim ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:56 PM

Aw crap Lowell is limping

[ Erin3 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:56 PM

ooohhh Mikey!

[ Anonymous ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:56 PM

Maybe a patriotic theme (with red, white & blue stuff or American foods).
Or a movie theme where you play a kid's movie (something like Finding Nemo or High School Musical) before, while, or after they eat.

Hope these help, Danielle!

[ Danielle ] says:

You guys are the best! These ideas are so helpful.
If anyone ever needs a community outreach event, Ronald McDonald collect soda tabs (pop tops) to raise money for their houses.

I hope Lowell is okay!

[ Liza ] says:

Teixiera is really pissing me off.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:58 PM

I really hope Mikey is okay. That dive looked painful.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 10:59 PM

Yeah, Liza, I liked Teixeira much better when he wasn't our opponent!

[ Mac ] says:
on October 5, 2008 11:00 PM

C'mon, Justin. GET THE OUT.

[ Kim ] says:
on October 5, 2008 11:01 PM

can I just say that Vlad's hair annoys me.

[ Kim ] says:
on October 5, 2008 11:01 PM

Yes!

[ Jessi ] says:
on October 5, 2008 11:01 PM

Masterson!

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 11:01 PM

YES! J-MAST!!!

[ Ian ] says:
on October 5, 2008 11:02 PM

I don't think Justin Masterson feels any pressure ever because that was freaking huge.

[ Mac ] says:
on October 5, 2008 11:02 PM

Thank you, Justin!

[ Kim ] says:
on October 5, 2008 11:02 PM

Hey, can I tell you that I'm mighty proud of my 9 yr old today. He had a shut out (they won 5 - 0) in net in his hockey game today.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 11:03 PM

Kim, to my eyes, Vlad's hair, at least without a cap or helmet, makes him look like the Sphinx or a Pharaoh or something like that.

[ Liza ] says:
on October 5, 2008 11:04 PM

Now that I'm done screaming into pillows and punching the air,

JUSTIN MASTERSON YOU FUCKING ROCK.

[ Kim ] says:
on October 5, 2008 11:06 PM

Damn it.

[ Aly ] says:
on October 5, 2008 11:07 PM

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 11:08 PM

I hope you didn't hurt yourself, Liza!

(he is pretty awesome, isn't he?)

[ Ian ] says:
on October 5, 2008 11:08 PM

[ Karen ] says:
on October 5, 2008 11:12 PM

I have the dugout cam up, but no Sox. I enjoy the batter cam on commercials, it is sox bullpen.

[ Erin3 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 11:13 PM

why no sox? :( I will have to check out the batter cam.

[ Mac ] says:
on October 5, 2008 11:15 PM

C'mon, Justin. GET THE OUT.

[ Karen ] says:
on October 5, 2008 11:16 PM

I assume it has something to do with it being fenway, and sox dugout.

[ Jessi ] says:
on October 5, 2008 11:16 PM

Man that bat exploded

[ Kim ] says:
on October 5, 2008 11:16 PM

[ Amanda ] says:
on October 5, 2008 11:21 PM

I just thought of something... if we win "knock on wood" i have to stay up for the celebrating maybe even after extra innings

[ Danielle ] says:
on October 5, 2008 11:21 PM

More stating the obvious: "let's see if Drew will stay in the game, because Varitek won't"

Wow I really hope he didnt go to school to learn how to state the obvious

COME ON BATS!!!

[ Kim ] says:
on October 5, 2008 11:22 PM

Hey look. It;s Mr. King.

[ Mac ] says:
on October 5, 2008 11:22 PM

[ Mac ] says:
on October 5, 2008 11:24 PM

UGH.

[ Erin3 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 11:25 PM

I really hate that technology commercial. It sounds like a robot just sucked down and dozen helium balloons.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 5, 2008 11:26 PM

C'MON, MIKEY! BE THE HERO.

[ Danielle ] says:
on October 5, 2008 11:49 PM

Okay, I love Mike Lowell but it should be time to pinch hit for him. His right hip does not need to get any worse and has him off balance.

[ Karen ] says:
on October 5, 2008 11:51 PM

Poor Mikey, looks like he is hurting.

[ Liza ] says:
on October 5, 2008 11:51 PM

That was NOT a swing.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on October 5, 2008 11:52 PM

shouldnt that have just been a bock (sp?)

[ Mac ] says:
on October 5, 2008 11:53 PM

Lindsay - I thought it was a balk, too, but I guess it wasn't.

[ Liza ] says:
on October 5, 2008 11:53 PM

Lindsay, it's spelled balk.

And also, LOWRBI.

[ Danielle ] says:
on October 5, 2008 11:53 PM

Alright Jed, don't think of this AB as trying to be a hero, just think of it as if it's any regular season AB. Mind over matter time, kid

[ Lindsay ] says:
on October 5, 2008 11:54 PM

thanks...not too good of a speller haha

but it's nice to now that I'm not the only one that thought it was a balk Mac.

[ Lindsay ] says:
on October 5, 2008 11:54 PM

[ Lindsay ] says:
on October 5, 2008 11:54 PM

[ Lindsay ] says:
on October 5, 2008 11:57 PM

wow, Jessi! I didn't realize that!

[ Jessi ] says:
on October 5, 2008 11:58 PM

Yea, it's been a longgg game.

[ Kristin ] says:
on October 5, 2008 11:58 PM

"take us into the mind of Jonathan Papelbon"....I don't want to go there

[ Karen ] says:
on October 6, 2008 12:00 AM

Papelbon's mind, sounds scary. Scarier thing, someone married him.

[ ecl1958 ] says:
on October 6, 2008 12:01 AM

[ Karen ] says:
on October 6, 2008 12:06 AM

::moaning::
Don't scare me Paps.
