Hate these shirts. The Sox should have one in the clubhouse.

My distaste for the Devil Rays was solidified when they played "Sweet Caroline" after they beat us in The Trop.

I find it interesting that these shirts are available from mlb.com.

Yeahhh that's very cocky. Sure they may have taken down the Red Sox in teh regular season, but let's see what happens in the playoffs.

I wouldn't buy the Wild Card stuff not because it's the Wild Card but because it looks so damn tacky.

these shirts certainly make it a lot easier to spot a douchebag from 20 feet away.

Holy shit. That's kinda classless in my opinion. And these are available on mlb.com? Geez...

They are definitely a piece of work. The Trop is definitely one of the loudest and most obnoxious place on earth. And I am returning on Saturday. I was lucky enough to get a ticket, just a lot further from the field than I am used to.

Come on!

They know "Sweet Caroline" but are ignorant of "Bad Bad Leroy Brown"?

I so want the Sox to kick their asses!

Fear not. Within a week, I fully expect a Deadspin post detailing how these shirts are being used to clothe impoverished kids in some third world country (see also: Colorado Rockies World Series Champs 2007 shirts, New England Patriots 19-0 2008 Super Bowl Champs shirts).

All I can say is you should try living down here, surrounded by arrogant "fans," most of whom never turned on a baseball game before May 2008. (I believe if you look back at the Tampa Bay Lightning 2004 season, you will see some familiar faces.)

They must be really nervous to launch such a preemptive strike. Ah, the pungent stench of arrogance.

Oh, cmon now. You can't believe that all Rays fans are bad. Level headed fans don't even want to believe that those shirts exist, let alone create or buy them. Every fan base has it's douches. I don't think you guys want to be lumped in with the Sox fans who think it is their birthright to win, when they actually just jumped on the bandwagon in 2004. Believe it or not there are a lot of good Rays fans out there who are thrilled to see this team winning for a change.

The Sox will be the vodka in this screwdriver tonight. We've got 8 more wins and 2 more rounds of champagne coming.

I don't think anyone said ALL Rays fans are bad. For example, our very own beat-stylin' Janie is a bigtime Rays fan.

But you can't deny that shirt is a tad bit presumptuous. And obnoxious. And just plain tacky.

Considering all the vitriol I read in the Tampa press about how rude and obnoxious Red Sox fans are, I found it more than a little ironic that the Rays are officially endorsing this kind of thing.

(And also, for anyone who doesn't know - Jessica's Rays blog ROCKS. For serious.)

Funny. We were just learning about "hubris" in English last week. Hubris is often the main quality in a tragic hero.

Guess what always happens to a tragic hero? They either die (a bit extreme) or are exiled (from the playoffs?).

what dynasty do you think you have, to conquer? you dont know what playoffs are like to even think you can start talking smack... i think maybe you can stick your foot in your mouth untill you have something to show for your actions........

thats just the mlb for you. Like in 2006 when they had shirts for the yankees saying "got postseason."

And agreed, the "Wildcard" card shirts are just sad.
